Quito Hotels near Metropolitan Cathedral

I’m staying at Friends Hotel & Rooftop in Quito’s historic center, and I really like it. The hotel itself isn’t luxurious, but it has a lot of character and the location is excellent.

We stayed here on our way to the Galapagos and our return. It is a beautiful, wonderful, clean friendly hotel.

This place is awesome, we will stay here every time we go to Quito, and will encourage all our friends to do the same.

This place felt like home away from home ❤️
We were picked up by a taxi arranged by the hotel from the airport. Once we arrived, the kind staff quickly picked up our luggage and took it to our rooms.

The Illa Experience Hotel was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The hotel building is an architect’s dream, with interesting features throughout.

We got an amazing room which had a separate seating area and a good size bathroom. The reception was very good, staff were wonderful and organized a cultural event every late afternoon.

A local guide from Cuenca, Ecuador suggested this hotel. As soon as I set foot in the hotel, I was impressed. The door is small and you could almost miss it walking on the street.

The location is good the personnel very friendly breakfast is good.

The location is excellent, the hotel is situated directly on Independence Square in the heart of Quito’s historic centre.

My husband and I are fairly well-traveled, and I can say without hesitation that our stay at the Plaza Grande was one of the finest hospitality experiences we've ever had.

Quiet, kind hostesses, extremely helpful as well. You're within walking distance of the Basilica, and a bunch of food and shops. Overall a wonderful stay.

Great hotel with beautiful rooms. The best part was Ana, who helped us a lot during our stay. Best service!

I went with my mom for a Fiesta Floral Therapy, and it was an amazing experience.

Great location, breakfast, and amazing meals. We were spoiled from the moment we entered the residence. Excellent staff. Walkable to the churches, parks and presidential home.

This is clearly the most luxurious hotel in Quito & every part of it — from the staff, to the decor, to the food, to the location — is top notch!

Casa Gangotena proved to be the perfect home base for exploring Quito.

The place is great with cute patio, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and big, felt safe inside and the location guaranteed quick access to the most important attractions.

I arrived at night with a transfer arranged through the hotel. The door wasn't opened, and I had to wait for 15 minutes. Fortunately, the taxi driver didn’t leave.

The moment you walk into this place it is breathtaking. The decor and style are nothing like I've seen before! So antique yet classy and has so much culture!

Our three night stay at El Relicario was great! The location of the hotel is fabulous, right off the Plaza Grande (Independencia).

I could not recommend this hotel more! Located 1 block from Plaza Grande (main square in the historic old town) it is the perfect location for walking around the city. The room was cozy and clean.

This is a lovely old school hotel in the center of Old Quito. A 5 min walk from the main town square.
You get the old school hotel experience.

I stayed while I was in Quito for four weeks on business. Couldn't be happier with my choice — the accomodations were beautiful, the entire staff are wonderful people.

Gorgeous hotel with such a cool history, staff are so kind and helpful. The decorations are so well curated and beautiful! A wonderful place to stay.

An amazing hotel in the heart of the business district which is close to everything. Inside is a treasure trove of artwork and small hangouts. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.

We loved everything about this hotel! The staff were kind and accommodating, very helpful. The room was magnificently appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Quito is a wonderful City and well worth three or four days.
If lucky enough to visit then we encourage you to stay here at Casa El Eden. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of The Old Town.

The location, the staff, the value, the views — you can't miss with Casa Carpedm. Fernanda organised and lead some beautiful tours outside of Quito.

The best stay of our trip. This is a beautiful boutique hotel with big rooms comfy beds and a bath to soak in after a day of walking.

Staying at casa Anabela felt like a warm bath. Every member of the staff was so friendly to us and really made this place feel like home for the days we were there.

Booked this last minute. The hotel’s charm and decor were visually stimulating and felt very cozy with only 9 rooms.

What a gem in Quito! This charming boutique hotel exceeded our expectations in every way.

Was disappointed with Hotel David so tried this place as I did need someplace to sleep.

The was perfect for a few days in Quito, also came back on way back from cloud forest walk. Hernan is a star, providing relevant info and friendly advice.

We booked the Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures over the Christmas holidays and we were so happy we did. It was like home away from home — except better!

We had a fantastic stay. The staff were very friendly and always available. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna and the restaurant. The views of the city were great.

What a gem! We lucked into our booking at Castillo Vista del Angel, and we were lucky indeed. The hotel is a lovely converted house, sitting atop a hill overlooking the Centro Historico.

Was an amazing experience the photos do not make it justice.

Rooms were extremely affordable for my three nights stay. I came with a friend in February 2025 and paid $24 a night for three nights. Rooms are clean and toiletries are included.

I stayed at here on 3 different occasions while I used Quito as a base. Super friendly staff, clean and affordable rooms, great breakfast and secure parking for my motorcycle. Can’t recommend enough!

We stayed here two nights in Premium room including breakfast. Our room was very nice on the top floor, in corner.

An architectural beauty well maintained with top notch staff. A superb location to grab some traditional food & relax in a beautiful atrium.

Everything is wonderful — professional, friendly, helpful, central location, great breakfast, laundry, parking. Eduardo and his family are so welcoming. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed two nights at Kinde House and it was great. Edouard quickly replied to any questions and was eager to help us to enjoy our stay in Quito.

Hotel staff was super nice, rooms were clean, shower had great water pressure, good Wi-Fi and felt very safe. Very good decorations inside the hotel as well! Would recommend 10/10
