The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are all very good people… You can't miss the walking tour… 100% recommended!

I recommend it's a family atmosphere.

We got a private room here and it was great. The views from our floor was amazing and they gave free tours to the guests every day.

What a great hostel! Got a private room here for a fair price, double the price of a shared bedroom but it was worth every cent! Super comfy bed, amazingly clean bedroom and bathroom and hot hot shower. Tasty breakfast. Offers tours for high prices, but I tried the Cotopaxi+ Quilotoa for a good deal! The location is great, near the main plaza. One of the top three hostels in Quito!

Nice large hostel. Has a kitchen to use, ping-pong table. Two pretty courtyards. Very friendly staff, speak English quite well and gave us lots of info for the city. Also they do free walking tours, we didn't go on one though.

Nice play to stay for backpackers! Cheap place and free walking tour with the best guide ever! The staff is very helpful and they organize a lot of (free) events for first time tourists in Quito. There is a inner terrace, a kitchen available on the first floor and a computer in case you need to print anything.

Friends hostel was one of the best Ive stayed in. The value is incredible. Privates are perfect and the staff is amazing! Especially Johanna! She was so helpful with not only me but everyone she dealt with. She handled dificult situations always with a smile and made sure everyone was happy and satisfied. I used to run a hostel and she is the ideal employee. A shout out to Jesus as well. Also great! All in all, friends hostel made my stay in Quito as fun and comfortable as possible.

Lovely and cozy hostel right in Quito old town! Everyone was so welcoming, nice and helpful. Make sure you go for a walking tour, a great activity organised by the hostel and totally FOC. Nice and clean room, hot shower, comfy mattress! This hostel has a great vibe, I can recommend to anyone visiting Quito. Love you guys :)

The hostel is large, the shared rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was not very equipped. Good vibe from the people I attended.

This hostel was a big disappointment. We were welcomed by a friendly staff, but when we got to the room we realized it wasn't worth the money at all. There were no curtains on the windows, which prevented us from getting any sleep at all because of the street lights beaming in. There were no lockers accessible except by giving your valuables to the staff behind the counter, which felt sketchy. The bathrooms were filthy, there was no hot water or any toilet paper either. The steep price of 25 dollars for a double private room was not worth it at all, especially because our booking online said 18 dollars. Breakfast was included in this price, but was meager at best, since it consisted of dry bread and, if you dared ask for it, some marmelade.

Excellent hostel. Located in the historic center of Quito, the views and buildings are all amazing. The staff very attentive and good vibes, always available for help. We saw people of all ages in the Hostel and all were treated alike. Recommended.

Amazing and safe location just in the heart of old Quito. Good common areas and kitchen available for guest. Quite a social hostal but not too noisy. Recommended.

Good location and one excellent happy staff member. Other staff members should work in a library. Kitchen not available from 8am-10am. Floors and doors extremely loud since it's an old (and beautiful) building.

I loved the hostel, they treated us super well! In addition it is very well located close to all the tourist places of interest! Recommended.

Convenient locations, clean rooms, hot water. The only odd thing was the coffee with breakfast was very odd. It was this thick coffee syrup you had to mix into hot water. Never had anything like that before, and I didn't think it was very good.

Staff night at the reception with which we had to try it was too little trained for their roles.

Upon arriving at the hostel with an online booking, the staff member at the desk seemed confused and had to make some phone calls to figure out what room I would be in. It seems they double booked it. I finally got shown to my room, which was a private ensuite. It was a nice room at a good price. The next day I decided to stay another night and asked to extend my reservation. There were no ensuite rooms available, so I was offered a private with shared bathroom instead, which I accepted. Again there was some confusion though as to who I was and what room I had stayed in. When I checked out the next day, the staff member once again asked who I was and what room I was in. I didn't see many other guests while I was there, so I am not sure what was so difficult about remembering who I was especially since the same person seemed to be working the desk almost 24/7. The breakfast was small, but OK. The manager cooks it and he was very pleasant, friendly and spoke English very well. I attempted to cook dinner one night and found out that the kitchen is lacking in most standard equipment. There are 3 huge pots meant for cooking for a group and a small frying pan for the breakfast eggs. There is also a stove, microwave and blender. That is about it. The cup of rice I cooked barely covered the bottom of one of the pots. I heated a can of chili in the frying pan since there was no small pot and there were also no bowls that I could use to microwave it in.

Just because I had a horrible time, doesn't mean you will. The location is central and the price isn't going to break the bank. When we check in to our room with a private bathroom we are told there is no hot water (thus negating the purpose of a private bath) and that the infernal stench coming from the bathroom cannot be helped. Add to that the lack of electricity for the majority of our stay and the conflicting information about a shuttle to the airport (which we planned around but then didn't exist or was not available), we will not be going back here. I don't normally say mean things in reviews, but I would hate to see someone else be as disappointed as we were.
