Hotel Pegasus

A beautiful hotel, rooms and lobby gives you a good feeling. Great staff with excellent cleaning everyday.
I especially liked the courtyard, a small natural haven right in the city.
Great location, it is quiet but still just a few steps from the city centre.
Highly recommended!

Definitely the best non-corporate type hotel we have stayed at in Cuenca. The owner and staff were exemplary, and the furnishings were top notch. Two parking lots right across the street, and the breakfast was great every morning.

Our second time at this hotel, last visited 6 months ago. Rooms are comfortable and spotless clean. All the furniture is new. Beds are new and very comfortable. Staff is mostly a husband wife team with one helper. These people really care. We always feel safe here. The neighborhood is the best in Cuenca. Within 100 meters there is the number 2 rated Italian restaurant in Cuenca and the rated Thai restaurant and origami sushi which is also 4.5 stars. + two artisan beer brew pubs! 3 blocks to the main plaza and cathedral. It is our first choice of hotels in Cuenca. Ps ask to see the rabbits!

Very clean and tidy, top notch service, rich breakfast and elegant facilities. My family and I loved it, we were given information to get to know the city a very friendly treatment of its owner. We'll definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed for a week at the Pegasus in January of 2018. We visited our daughter who was on a gap year in Cuenca before starting college. The location, in old town Cuenca, and about halfway in between the Parque Calderon and the Rio Tomebamba, is excellent, with many shops, restaurants and museums nearby. We felt very safe walking around, even after dark.
Like most Cuenca hotels in the old part of town, the rooms face an interior courtyard. Our room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of hot water and good Wi-Fi. Our room was quiet, with a very few exceptions when other guests arrived late at night. Breakfast was fairly ordinary, but there are plenty of inexpensive places to eat nearby.
Victor, the owner, has spent a lot of time in the US and speaks excellent English. He is a great resource for anything you need while visiting Cuenca. See if you can guess by his accent where he spent his time in the US!
Overall, I would highly recommend the Pegasus. New, clean, great location, great staff, wonderful owner and a great value.

Well, I agree: good location, very clean, good Wi-Fi.
But: we didn't meet any of the described English speaking owner / staff, the breakfast was rather poor and the same every day (coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, one bred-like pastry and limited butter and jam). No hairdryer, not only in the room, but the whole hotel didn't have one. And our room was rather small. I don't think it's 3 star. I would give 2 points, the 3 instead is just because it was very cheap.

Our first impression of this hotel was the kind host, Victor, who speaks excellent English and was extremely helpful answering all our questions. Also, the beautiful entrance to the hotel and the decor. The rooms were very clean with hot water in the sink and shower. My two brothers and I had two rooms in this hotel. The ambience was lovely as was Victor’s wife and family.
