Reviews of Jewel Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort 5*
Beautiful… friendly staff… love it here.
Everything was very good here although they must have somone check the food my brother got very sick the 3rd day here from the French restaurant other then that it was amazing I would like to put a very good review in for one of the servers virgilio who works in the Italian restaurant on the resort he was very good server and was always “happy happy” Also the bartender at the main bar in the lobby at night was very fast and super fun his name was angel so I hope you treat these employees well cause there the ones keeping this play the 4 star establishment that it is!
Overall very nice. The ocean is beautiful, so much to see and enjoy. Staff is friendly and attentive.
This was a great resort! The staff was so great and the resort was beautiful! Simon, Arias and one other guy that I unfortunately cant remember his name were the best waitstaff and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Will definitely go back!
The staff are very nice and friendly
Food was lovely hotel is lovely
Maid service in your room great.
Beautiful place, everything very clean, the service, or say, the employees very friendly, super helpful and I hope to come again.
Beautiful place and friendly staff.
Recommend everything! Food is great, people are friendly and helpful. Love the pool! Will be back for our 12th time soon!
The resort is absolutely amazing along with the food 5 ⭐️. I was very disappointed with Beach not able to enjoy due to seaweed very very disappointing. Staff is great very friendly and welcoming. The pressure of doing presentations is VERY annoying cannot enjoy with out being harassed and pushed into presentations, should be the option of guest at check in then left alone. Overall the resort was 8 due to beach! My second time in DR and outside of the horrible beach Dreams was first class all around! Rooms def need updating but not bad. Excursion are a rip off you have 10 people trying to get you to buy all at differ t prices, so frustrating. Once on the Dune Buggy excursion we had a blast $130 for 3 of us. Great entertainment on resort based on your preference and choices. Will try another resort in this chain in near future!
Selection of daily activities were varied and made my stay quite exciting. Staff were always courteous and happy to provide a level of service that is second to none. The food never imagined my palate would be exposed to such a wide array of culinary delight. Wish my stay was longer.
Great hotel, Excellent staff and entertainment. They make sure to include everyone that wants to be included. The food could be a bit better but yet again I’ve only tried the buffet restaurant, will try somewhere else tonight.
Fantastic resort, good food, great entertainment and fantastic service.
Beautiful place! friendly staff, good food, great beach — what else can you ask for :)
It was amazing, lots of things to do, it was beautiful and the staff was really friendly. I can't wait to go back.
Visited for 5 nights 9/12-17/2018 and had a fabulous time. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful; special thanks to Ana Pena who guided us every day in planning our activities and dining choices, and Francisco "Cisco" the Chef who took great care helping us expand our waistlines. Pool is amazing, with ample chairs, floats and cabanas for all. Beach closed 3 days due to rough surf, but was great when open. Food in individual restaurant's was great; Buffet just OK. Can't wait to return to this gem of a resort in the spring.
Dreams Resort far exceeded my expectations. I had never been to Punta Cana, nor had I ever gone to an all-inclusive resort. After reading reviews regarding mosquitos, the water, etc. I admit to being a bit nervous. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this resort. Yes, the rooms and bathrooms need updating, but the entire resort was so clean. I am willing to put up with a bit of outdated rooms in exchange for cleanliness. We had a family room setup with 2 adjoining rooms, which worked very well for us. We had no problem with the air conditioning, & as a matter of fact, with the fan on it actually got a little cold during the nights. I found the restaurants to be very good. We actually went back a second time to Portofino, the risotto with shrimp & lobster and the osso bucco were outstanding. Our waiter Ramon was so friendly. We also enjoyed the Japanese restaurant, food very good. Our waiter Francis was so helpful, not only there, but kept finding him at the breakfast buffet and then again at the French restaurant. These 3 restaurants were our favorites, but overall found all the food to be good. One of the previous reviewers seemed to have a problem with "getting dressed up" for the French Restaurant, but I don't think that having to wear long pants & a shirt with a collar is excessively "dressed up". The food was well worth it. We had upgraded to the Preferred Club and, again, I found it worthwhile.
My stay at the resort started with an organized transfer from airport to resort. Our driver was a young man named Erich with Olympus — very nice, great conversation and helpful. Check in was smooth for us thankfully. As we made our way to our room, we were hassled by vendors — not good. Irritating that they shove items into your hand as well as a calculator for you to name your price that they are ready to reject. Then won't accept that you decline to make a purchase. Food options are plenty. The food was tolerable and service was always good for us. We planned excursions on day 2 of our stay only to find out on the day of our day 4 reservations didn't exist. Wasn't happy about the alternate arrangements that was made for us after wasting 45 minutes, but we know not to allow that to happen ever again regardless of where we vacation. The room was comfortable, cold, and very clean daily. The pool was great and so many activities… never a dull moment. Rafael at the lobby bar was a great bartender; Manatee swimup bar service can greatly improve — very slow and not the most courteous (and we were great tippers regardless). Desires Disco was fun and played good music. The beach party — a hit whether you're on the beach or your balcony, a great time to be had. Our goal was to enjoy vacation and we did.
We just got back after spending a week at Dreams. As with most resorts there is good and bad and this is not exception. Start with the bad which are the rooms. We went with a preferred club suite and if you are expecting what you see in the pictures on the web site you will be sorely disappointed. The rooms are very dated and just no very welcoming at all. We had to move out of our first room because the ceiling was falling in but had a great view of the pool to another room with a view of chain link fence. The food was OK at best. The buffet did have good variety but was pretty average in taste. The other restaurants were all about the same and average at best. The vendors were a pain in the ass that you can not avoid and they do not take no for an answer. Everywhere you go they are in attack mode. We did do a couple excursions and the buggy ride was a lot of fun. My wife and son also did a catamaran excursion and they really enjoyed it. The only thing I would say beware of is cost. It seemed we would sign up for something and pay and then when we got there they always wanted more money. Make sure to stand your ground and also negotiate when you sign up. The same excursion we paid $110 per person for we found out others paid $80. If you can avoid the brokers and go straight to the operators you will save money. The pool was OK and not overly crowded but not deep at all. Strictly for lounging and floating.
My previous years vacation was Atlantis so there is absolutely no comparison and I honestly wish I would have went back there this year. At the price I paid for this trip with the excursions, I easily could have. Very disappointed with the food. The World Cafe has a large variety but everything is just so different here and not in a good way. I’m not a very picky eater at all but I do try to avoid carbs and it’s very difficult to find anything that tastes halfway decent there for breakfast. The entire place is very understaffed! Wait time for dinners is about 45 min once you are seated. Drinks are heavily watered down! The rooms aren’t horrible, yes they are dated but when you’re on a vacation, you’re not in your room much anyway so that doesn’t bother me. The beach is entirely covered in sea weed so there is no going out in the water to enjoy it, it’s just not happening! The nightly entertainment is ok and the excursions were fun. The vendors pressuring you to buy things are extremely aggravating when on vacation. They are absolutely ridiculous and will annoy the hell out of you. Huge turn off. I definitely would not recommend this place and I definitely will not be back.
Staff was friendly and pleasant to be around, food was alright in my own opinion. Grounds were kept immaculate. My family enjoyed their stay. One recommendation is to have more balloon fights in the swimming pool. Have more pool games, brings the inner kid out in everyone.
This hotel is absolutely, utterly outstanding from every single point of view. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks, and we felt like king and queen. We were so well looked after, by all staff and we had the best experience ever. They have a variety of luxurious, tasty restaurants, so we never got bored with the choices. Food was so delicious and we had so much choice from each menu of the restaurant, however Himitsu is the best restaurant in our opinion in this resort. Staff are incredibly attentive, kind, friendly, polite and helpful. They even remembered our names and were calling us throughout the resort. And the cleanliness of the rooms and swimming pools, outstanding!
Not the greatest resort out there, but it's a solid 7/10. We were received with a super friendly staff. I liked that. One of the things I did not like was that the check in took way too much time. The rooms where alright, nothing too fancy. Just a comfy bedroom to sleep or watch TV. The a/c was just cool, not adjustable to a cold temp. The dining area I visited at the time was the World Cafe and it was neat and clean, food was alright and variety just as well.
A great experience since you got here until you get out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Super-rich meals… Back again my husband and I were delighted!
Had a great time here, Happy Happy! Could not say anything really bad. People have their complaints at resorts, I experienced nothing that was terrible or didn't get corrected by staff immediately. Place was clean, staff was friendly and animated, never out of towels or supplies, drink servers constantly making rounds. Pool was nice, place was beautiful, great landscaping, beautiful beach, lots of fun things to do. Restaurants and food was very good, service was great, bars all over the property, good entertainment and just lots of relaxing fun.
I had so much fun here, the people are so friendly and down to earth. There were a few exceptions, they allow vendors to come on property. These people are pushy, overbearing, and don't like to hear no. We went on an excursion to the island that blue lagoon was filmed. The island is beautiful. They stop the boat for snorkeling on the way. Then they stop at the natural swimming hole. 3ft of the clearest water you can imagine. The problem I had was coming back you have to jump from one boat to another. The boats are moving and rocking which didn't help. Other than that the vacation was well worth the money. I would love to go back again.
I highly recommend you come experience this resort. Voted number 1 BY ME! I can't think of a bad thing to say about my stay. The whole staft is well trained and it shows everyone was great. Especially Sergio, Melvin, and Chris. My room was great the view was spectacular. All of the restaurants were good, the entertainment was as well. You have 2 experience it for yourself. Me and my wife were very pleased. We definitely will return in future…
We went here on our first vacation as a couple and it was great! The room service was top notch and super fast when ordering! The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. The pools where always clean and spotless! Service on the beach was good. Better if you tipped them! My only gripe is the food wasn't that great. It wasn't the worst I have experienced but its not 5 star!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The room was very clean. Several restaurants offered. Wonderful stay.
The customer service of the hotel is excellent, the food alike, the drinks also; However, sodas and games should have better quality, they know a lot about juice. Outside of that the hotel is great for spending a family holiday or as a couple.
The buffet is great, the other restaurants do not deserve the detour. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the pool is top with its integrated bar the beds are comfortable and the linens pleasant. The room was very nice and clean. Except with the hallway! Three bemols: the bathroom totally moulted by the damp, poorly maintained, not even worthy of a star. The fact of getting up at 6:00 every day to hope to have a seat on the Transat. And the sellers of paintings and other beads a little too present and insistent.
Very good hotel, staff is welcoming, clean hotel, Wi-Fi works very well, food fashionable us, good but no more, huge pool but only 1M deep. The cocktails are very good. Bcp of Americans a bit noisy
the game section, table football, billiards, machine for testing in baseball, are a more.
All the facilities are recommended, especially the food, which offers a lot of variety and all quality. Alcoholic beverages are very good too. The beach nearby is very quiet, ideal to disconnect from the busyness of the city, in addition to having few hotels nearby. The pool and the rest of the gardens are very well maintained. Very friendly staff.
Was quite good. Unfortunately on arrival direct the demand whether you want various upgrades for $700. This is inappropriate after an 18 hour long journey. Food and Geteänke good. At the pool, orders are even received and delivered (included). All theme restaurants are included and free of charge! The Somelier wanted and "white" make the one tables there with a bottle of wine to reserve (Min30 $). We did, but it was totally unnecessary. Water in the pool was great, (little chlorine) no red eyes. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
For me, this holiday was just great.
This place was truly amazing. Once me and my boyfriend arrived we was welcomed by warm greetings, and glass of champagne and a cold towel to cool off with. Because our flights arrived a little bit early before check-in we were allowed to leave our luggage at the front desk and explore the resort. We were here for a wedding, and I must say that everything was great down to the food, drinks, staff, the games and activities just amazing. The resort was as close to the beach as you could get. This resort is very family oriented so bringing small children is not a problem. I would recommend this place to any and everyone.
We've visited four times in the last five years. This resort is family friendly, has a great kids club (for 12 and under) and an area to occupy teenagers with various games. The pool is fantastic for casually relaxing in and around. The food and services are good and we are happy to see the same staff year after year. The rooms are a clean and the grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained.
Best resort in the beautiful Dominican Republic. I've been to three different Dreams resorts and this is by far the best. Friendly staff, amazing pool, best food. I went to this specific resort 3 times in a calendar year… the last visit was for my wedding and it was incredible. My 36 guests said the same. Can't wait to go back!
Very cool. But without knowledge of English, it is difficult. Russians are not used here at all. Yes, and there's none of ours. So far, except for the guide, no one met.
Great resort. Excellent staff. From the activities staff " Very happy" and Angela are great people to Franklin the butler. The food was great especially the buffet. The Japanese restaurant was really good. Rooms were nice and clean.
We stayed here for five days for a wedding. The staff was all-around amazing, from the front desk to the maid service. The living areas were a bit dated, but nothing major. Most places seemed similar. The ability to order room service free 24/7 was welcome, and the great dining hall with buffet style food was very good. The MASSIVE pool was the best we've seen — complete with swim up bar and tons of stuff for kids.
Beautiful facility, very good cuisine, but not completely clean everywhere.
I'll come again, and now in order: 1. The hotel has everything: playground, PlayStation, windsurfing, tennis and basketball courts to a great beach. All free, right down to the bike.
2. The hotel is small, everything is at hand. For example, in Riobambu you will be half a day wandering from the sea to the restaurant. Everything is close by.
3. Food. Do not wait for lobsters, but meat, fruits, desserts-very well. You can quite afford to go to a nice seafood restaurant and eat them there. There are mussels, shells-very large, very good. I personally too them.
4. Staff-well done.
5. The beach is one of the best in the Dominican Republic. Big and clean.
6. Minus-Education of people. From 7 am occupy sun loungers near the pool. And there is nowhere to go, although there are many vacant places. Crisis of capitalism and lack of spirituality:)
7. Car Rental. It is worth to take and go Altos de Chavong. And just ride around the country.
8. Food. For a good meal we go to Macau beach. If we stand facing the sea, the far Right café (at the very end, you can drive up the car). It's like Naholovok, all Obtrepannoe, but… In general, I advise. Lunch 2 lobster, sea bass, banana fries and rice-60 USD. It is 2 Lobsteoa-3 kg, Perch-1 kg.
And I would come back here.
Beautiful hotel, which we have visited for the second time. It is located on a great beach on the Atlantic side. The service is really great and the gardens a dream.
Nice structure with friendly and efficient staff. Exposed sea in a particularly ventilated area.
The staff are very accommodating and kind. The food is tasty and there is a wide variety of options from which to choose. Some of the rooms need updates but we were able to get a great view of the pool and beach. Overall I have had a wonderful experience!
What a difference a few years makes. We were here in 2014 & had a great time. Came back January 2018 and total disappointment! The rooms are old & outdated. We had upgraded preferred club. The “ special” breakfast they offer preferred club guests was disgusting. You order off a menu but the food is cold and not fresh at all. One of our rooms had old, dry blood all over the bathroom mirror when we checked in (I have photos). When we booked my reservation in October my son was 12 years old. We had to supply his birthdate to secure the reservation. When we arrived in January he had turned 13. So, SURPRISE they said he was now an “adult” and they charged us an extra $800 which was WAY MORE than it would have been if they charged us the correct rate in October. I talked to several people and they all refused to honor the discounted rate that we booked in October. They never reached out to us before our arrival to let us know that my son would cost astronomically more. We had no choice but to pay the ransom since we were in another country with no other options. They essentially robbed us and we will NEVER return to any Dreams resort ever. Book Hard Rock or another resort and avoid this place at all costs!
According to what one can expect from a resort of this kind.
There are a lot of tourists from the United States.
They are also there with their crooked.
The restaurants are of a high quality.
The room yet in luxury category is not at the expected level. Normal beds: no King size ☹, not very spacious room and filled with degraded bathtub.
The staff are very friendly and the many bars with all the spirits of the world almost.
Overall good resort. Pros — 1M high lazy river pool is great for both kids and adults. Service was good. Landscaping is great. Buffet. Cons — A la cartes were lacking, rooms were dated and cheap which felt more like being in a Cuban room.
Great hotel good service, food and alcoholic drinks)
Very nice facility! The rooms are just a bit out of date!
Eat good and nice people!
The grounds of the hotel were very nice. However, the rooms were very old and run down. This place is good for famlies with children or teens. There are lots of activities. The food was not great. Only 2 people in our party of 8 got sick. The alcohol is awful, very cheap. Everything is overpriced starting with tours/excursions, massages, souvenirs. Vendors are trying to make as much as they can off the tourists. They are good swindlers. Beware! I would not return to this resort. I prefer a higher quality resort.
The resort was nice, the food was good however in the Six days we were there we lost power 8 times. Three on the last night we were there. The maintenance people did not know what they were doing. The manager of the resort just before we left said he didn't know about our problem and I said I called for 4 days in a row and now he wants me to go back there. The place is a fire hazard where I took pictures of broken wall plates, a/c filter's which were never cleaned, exposed wiring which will cause a fire. Anyone wants to contact me I would be happy to explain this terrible experience.
I'll do it again. … but make an effort for the French please.
Very well a good 5 star food excellent service outstanding.
Very attentive staff and great resort and food! Only complaint would be for the rooms, they are in good shape but not great or excellent shape. But overall had a great experience at the resort! Would definitely go back whenever I get the chance.
Excellent Place. Only real ocean view room is 1208 or 1209 Great food, restaurant's and service. The problem is that the server's at the beach are few and rarely come around for drinks. The shows at night don't start until 930pm and if you look around people are bored and falling asleep on the lobby couches. Need to get a filler from about 8pm. Even the kids shows are not every night, they probably should be (it could work as a filler. ) Overall beautiful resort and great staff but I probably wouldn't repeat unless I had to attend for a wedding. Great wedding venue.
I am a tough credic and the only reason I didn't give this resort a 5 star was it was missing a few things but overall I just got back and I had a great vacation. This resort lacked attention to detail I know they had hurricane Irma and Maria to deal with but u would have never known there was a hurricane there the resort was being worked on but it never felt like it. A few times were broken a few walls weren't painted. And they need more fans working through out the resort. It was extremely hot in the restaurants but the food was fantastic so I could excuse the heat no matter what we ate it was good. Thank you to all the staff for going above and beyond in finding our bag we misplaced and treating us like family from the moment we arrived. See you next year we will be back.
Paradise! We just went here on our honeymoon and although we were only able to spend two days here due to Hurricane Maria, they were an unforgettable two days. This was the most beautiful place I had ever seen and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I felt like a princess from the moment I walked through the door. I cannot wait to go back!
Fantastic resort. Best quality is the staff. Always friendly, excited, and helpful. Even when we had to be evacuated inland because of hurricane Irma, they worked constantly to ensure we were as comfortable as possible.
Was on vacation with my family there for 8 days & while it was nice I've been to better. The rooms are terribly outdated. I've been to hotels that are more accommodating than the rooms we were in. In our first room (we switched) the placements of the outlets were very inconvenient. None were by the bed so if I needed to charge my phone before bed or use my laptop I would have to move to the other side of the room. The rest of the outlets were like hidden behind the couch or under the table. Fortunately, in our next room there was an outlet right beside the bed & the other outlets were in similar places. The bathrooms were also quite annoying to use. The shower/bathtub was half covered by a glass wall close to the front, so water would pour out from the back & soak the floor. If you didn't want water getting everywhere you had to be very cognisant of how you were showering & limit your shower time so as not to get everywhere messed up. Didn't enjoy that as I love taking long showers. The pools were nice & there were lots of chairs always available to lounge on, & the waiters were always prompt and friendly. Although, the pool water was usually warm, which wasn't very refreshing seeing as the weather was already really hot. The food is good, & there's lots of restaurants to choose from, but like any place you get tired of eating the same things over & over again. Especially at the buffet, where I found there was a lot of repetition daily.
Compared to other resorts we've stayed at this one was just Okay. The facilities aren't the best but they were always clean. The food was edible but not exactly "good". There's limited to no AC in all of the buildings so it was hot everywhere, all the time, even the pool water was warm. We had a large group with 6 rooms and it appeared that each one was lacking something (AC, cold fridge, housekeeping, clogged shower). The staff was really friendly, the resort grounds are beautiful, it never felt crowded there was plenty of chairs on the beach and pool side. There's a lot of activities so you can make the most of it if you tried. If you're looking for an inexpensive tropical vacation without any expectations Dreams is for you. However, I would not recommend staying here if you're traveling with all adults. There was only one choice of beer and no top shelf liquor.
I was 16 I went here last year for vacation and I LOVED it here. The rooms weren't so great and check-in took a long time, but overall, the experience was so much fun. Punta Cana has an entertainment team that really does make the trip so much fun. They have water games, zumba, water aerobics, beach games, and so much more. They're all super energetic men that don't give you a choice to join the games or not, but trust me IT'S SO WORTH IT! even if you're shy, so along with it. That's what made the vacation SO much fun. PROPS TO THE ENTERTAINMENT TEAM! the food was also amazing! loved all of it.
Beautiful place! So relaxing and we were greeted with friendly smiles daily. Food was excellent. We didn't go to the French or hibachi restaurants, but really enjoyed the buffet, pizza, steak house and beach grill restaurants. Preferred is the way to go. Only reason it didn't give it 5 stars is because of our room. It was supposed to be a spectacular garden view and we got the view of the service road/path. The workers and vehicles were back and forth. We just like to sit out there to enjoy morning coffee, but that wasn't happening. All in all, it was an awesome trip.
Congratulations… really is a hotel 5 stars. Our family enjoy a spectacular weekend thanks to its attentive and personalized service. A kitchen excellent; varied and ggourmet. Thank you.
Came for Annaversary trip with my wife. Very nice and clean landscape and environment. Enjoyable to look at and relax. I was overwhelmed by the variety of foods available in the world cafe. I soon realized the variety was due to poor food quality. The food was just "ok". Nothing to get excited about. Staff is friendly, maybe too friendly. I can't walk 25 feet without an "hola" or "hey tom cruise". I guess we all look the same? The staff in the bar and restaurants were extremely slow. I just gave up on pool drinks and waited until dinner. I like to be active so I went to the "sports" area. The equipment was falling apart. Video game area had no working games. When paying a lot for a vacation the little things matter. I spent much of my time being aggravated by small things. Oh, and steer clear of the sales vultures in the lobby when you first arrive. I'm cruising next trip.
The amenities are Stone Age. The food is horrible. There is no night life at all. There is no live music. The Pool closes at 6PM! Seriously? The rooms are dated and there is mildew in shower stalls. The TV is from the 80's. No weatherstripping on the door of the rooms so the insects just crawl right in. I could right a book of how disappointed our family is. Will never come here again. Run away from this so called resort…! Where is the 5 star part?
The Good: Pool was huge and about a. 25 mile long. Food at the buffet was great. The bars. The restaurants. The Bad: Terrible service. Pool water was hotter then bath water. Restaurants have no reservations, expect to wait up to an hour. Beach was dirty and Rocky. Don't expect a cold room, AC was sub-par.
Friendly staff, delicious food in its restaurants and entertainment areas well designed and in accordance with their functions.
Beautiful resort. The food is amazing. The people are happy and polite. The child care was excellent for our 6 month old, yet overpriced so under used. I would give five stars, except… The time shares Sales pitch should not be the first impression you get when visiting a nice resort like this. The vendors are to pushy. You are forced to pass 10 or so every time you want to walk around the resort on some of the nights and they are basically begging for your business, food, and drinks. I purchased a little something from each vendor, but it defiantly got old fast.
Loved it! Great honeymoon destination! We had an issue with some rude guests late one evening and the night manager Mr. Montero took control of the situation and got us into an upgraded room with living area and outside Jacuzzi. Thank you so very much Mr. Montero! We can't recommend the Dreams resort enough!
Excellent attention, the pool, the food, the beach, among other things. The perfect place to vacation without a doubt.
3l best Resort of the world bar not I loved that they never closing.
Dreams resort Punta Cana provides the perfect family vacation. With it's clear beach water and amazing teen club it causes a constant flow of excitement. Not only that but as you exit the lobby you will find many different exotic animals roaming around the hotel. These animals range from peacocks to parrots to the other animals the workers let you touch and hold. As you walk around the resort you will also notice all of the different beverages they have such as the Shirley Temple and the Mojito. When in doubt Dream Resort Punta Cana will be the perfect family vacation. I also want to give a special thanks to Leonel, Drake, Luis, and Ramon at the Core Zone for all the fun activities.
Excellent care and treatment by all employees.
Gastronomy without waste to the desserts are delicious.
Rooms at first.
This is 5 stars.
It's hard to rate this as it was a free trip; given it was free I enjoyed myself. The resort was very large and the pool stretched the span of the resort. The restaurants were harder to get into since they don't take reservations so you have to get there early or late. I've been to other resorts that were more friendly but I had no problems with this one. They have a few peacocks that are extremely loud in the mornings and the hallways and walls are thin. Overall if you aren't going to spend much time in the room, resort is very nice and has good amenities.
-Staff "surjouant" location for the tip to the American.
-Rooms that need a serious facelift. Run down room.
-Phonic isolation of the room to improve seriously.
-Room not made before 4 pm in general.
-An unbearable wind-swept beach. Very rough sea.
-Impossible to swim properly in pool: 1 m maximum depth.
-Get up at 7 to get a chance to put his towel on a lounger by the pool.
-Internet almost unusable in the room.
-Service in the themed restaurants ultra fast, from there to think that everything is in food industry…
-No golf nearby for lovers of this sport.
But…
-Nevertheless very helpful staff.
-In a beautiful and superbly maintained site.
-Excellent buffet and restaurants to themes to try!
-The "standard" of good quality wines.
-Keep the room after 12: 00 the day of possible departure and very reasonable price ($ 10/hour).
-Bedding of good standing.
-Pool of 500 m long well kept and easily accessible from the room.
-Staff very many monitoring
Come on, very good stay, even if we're still looking for the 5th star!

Nice place, amazing and very caring personal! Especially in Preference club, girls was always very helpful! Love territory of hotel! Here truly so nice park with exotic little animals!
Nice place, good food, loved that the pools interconnected and you could basically get from your room to the beach by following the pool for the most part. Nice all inclusive and friendly staff and activities if you like. The Spa was really a nice experience from steam bath to freezing water pool to multiple types of showers to relaxation pool with different types of flowing water, massage was good too.
On Saturday we are returning to Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa. Our stay last year was fabulous and we wanted to experience this outstanding resort again. Four of us traveled together. We loved our rooms which overlooked beautiful gardens. The patio was a great place to read. The staff is friendly… we especially hope that Simon is still there. Every morning and noon he welcomed us to the buffet and made us feel like family. Carol… Toronto, Canada.
What a wonderful facility where you can unwind, relax and enjoy a fun week in the sun. We had two couples staying at Dreams Resort and Spa in February 2013. We are scheduled to vacation there again shortly with a third couple. The Preferred Club is the way to go, the hospitality is Excellent. Can’t wait because others we have recommended the resort to agree that this is a GREAT value.
An excellent place in its facilities, rooms, pools, bars, excellent food and especially the staff. I was there on a training.
My husband and I stayed at Dreams Punta Cana for our honeymoon. Our debit card information was stolen while we were at this hotel from the ATM. While we have been home, we had extra charges go through at various locations across Uvero Alto & Bavaro. Do not use the ATM at this hotel. While in Punta Cana, we only used our card at the ATM at Dreams, so we know the information was taken there. The hotel rooms were quite outdated, needed maintenance and rather small. One of the electrical outlets in our room was taped over and would not work. Besides the 1 outlet in the bathroom, we only had 1 outlet available in the room. When we arrived at Dreams from another hotel, the bell boys lost our luggage & sent it all to the airport with other vacationers. No one was helpful at the resort during this time except for Robert (bell boy). He went out of his way to fix someone else's error and to find our lost bags. After receiving our luggage hours later, we were told management would talk with us the following day. That never happened. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach, pool, bars & restaurants. The beach was beautiful & the seaweed was cleaned frequently. The pool was really nice. We enjoyed all of the bars, our favorites were the swim up, the bar with the swings and the bar by the reception desk. The food was delicious at all of the restaurants and the wait staff was incredible! We Overall — a nice resort. Great amenities & staff.
Staff was wonderful. Food was delicious. I would highly recommend coming here and look forward to visiting other properties this company has to offer.
I came for my honeymoon and we loved it very much, the people are very helpful, they have room service 24/7, and more than 5 restaurants with a wide selection of meals and spa s. We went up to our deluxe package for being a honeymoon at no cost. Highly recommended!
The only thing that was good about this place was the food! Our bathroom ceiling leaked above the sink and we lost electricity three times. Once just because I used the hair dryer. The other two times was due to weather but it did come back on shortly. When we lost the electric due to the hair dryer… I did have to locate someone to clear the breakers… We had a "swim up"… but I wouldn't call walking over stones; dirt and partial grass a swim up… Only on our last day did we have someone come to our area for drinks… every other day we had to venture out on our own… on the stones; dirt and partial grass… Will never do the apple square deal again… will research before booking in the future… this was not a 6 apple resort by any means… very dated… will never go back…
I wanted a vacation to relax and have a few drinks at the beach, I am not rich however, I was not expecting having to tip every person you speak to. The hotel specifies that bartender and servers are not expecting a tip, but they clearly are or their services drop considerably, they start making you nasty drinks or completely ignore you. The people are nice and friendly but if you are not a able to afford tipping for every drink, meal, or any other service, this is not a place you want to travel to. They also allow vendors on the hotel, these people are pushy and annoying, I could not walk to dinner without them trying to stop you. People have to be aware these people sell their merchandise well over priced.
Love this place! Everyone working there treats you like Family. Very clean, All the Restaurants, World Café, Staff are AMAZING!
Just got back yesterday and miss it already. Went with 6 girlfriends to celebrate birthdays. Excelente! Beautiful hotel in a luxurious setting. Everything included. The staff is there for your every need and aims to please you. Great job to the outstanding entertainment crew, World Cafe's Marcos, William, Francesco, Simon, Francesco, Frank and many more. Thank you Eloisa and Mercedes. I hope to be back again.
Excelente! Honestly amazing! Before I came, I read the reviews and was expecting something worse because of the seaweed and the customer service but it's actually nothing like what these people made it out to be. The employees were great and felt like family, almost cried when I said goodbye. The food and drinks were great and they understand well what you order or will try their best because, it shows, that their goal is to make the customer happy. They always have activities for all ages, even in different weather conditions. The pool was always clean and they have floaties that are accessible to everyone. The dancers after 8:30 pm at the Veranda Bar made sure you weren't bored and pulled you out to dance to the Dominican music. Room service was great and the maids fix up your room beautifully. Others refill your all inclusive fridge and the snacks above them. The apparent "bunch" of seaweed is actually not anything like that; there are people who wake up at probably around 5 a. M. To clean all the seaweed for 7 a. M. When the beach opens, trust me I was there at 6 a. M. Seeing them do their job. There are only a couple rocks at the beach but they aren't harmful or common. As for the air conditioning in the room, it was always cold when we came in to our room from the heat outside, but you can always change the air to your liking. All the foods and drinks are inclusive and they're great quality. Overall, this resort is great and I highly recommend it to everyone.
AMAZING! The maid cleans your room every day when you're out at the pool or beach. World Cafe is lovely and has such a variety of food and is cooked fresh and well! The pool is maintenenced every day. Alcoholic drinks are free and so is the food! The rooms are well air conditioned and cleaned. Only problem is the beach is filled with seaweed. The waiters were really bad at servicing us. As they could not understand water or beer? The bartenders were also horrific, they messed up my order at least 3 times and had me waiting for about 15 minutes. I ask for a flamingo and they give me orange juice? Bordeux and Himitsu sucked btw.
I love a Great staff only, I didn't like that I didn't saw presentasiones typical of my country, at minimum, a presentation typical of our country, but it is beautiful I Recommend it.
Good very nice and the girls at the coconut cafe are very sinpactica in special stephany felicistaciones.
The good: The resort is beautiful, some of the staff are very friendly and helpful, there are plenty of activities and shows to keep you entertained. The bad: Everything is outdated. Our air conditioning just couldn't keep up with the high temps. The power went out in part of our building two nights in a row. There are broken tiles in the pool which our friend cut his foot on. The beach is full of seaweed and sharp rocks which I cut my foot on. The food was just ok, though they don't know how to cook a steak any less than medium well. Some of the staff are not just unhelpful but rude, while some members of the staff hound you day and night to take part in their "promotional offer" which sounded like a scam to us. The excursions are a bit pricey for what they are. And you can ask 5 staff members the same question and get 5 different answers.
"Happy Birthday Girl! " This Resort was a great way to celebrate a birthday. This all inclusive place has beautiful scenery with drinks that always flow. A pool that stretches the length of the property that's only 3 ft. Deep. Six restaurants that vary in cuisine as well as atmosphere. Spacious rooms staffed with wonderful service. Flamingos and peacocks roam the property. Extremely disappointed in the service I received from the waiters at 4 of the 6 restaurants I dined at. I felt I was treated very poorly. The some of the waiters in the World Cafe & Oceana hated to wait on my party. Other waiters once seated never checked on us, spilled items but never cleaned the table, spoke aggressively to me when I made inquires, and had the hardest time getting refills of beverages. While the resort is wonderful, the food great, but the service my party received makes me never want to stay again.
My family and I went to Dreams 3 years ago and loved it so much we went again and brought 2 other families with us! We just got back this week, it was a great vacation! My 10 year old daughter Caroline and her friends Michael and Ella had the best time in the "Core Zone" with Drake and Luis! They played all sorts of games and the guys played with them and kept them thoroughly entertained all week! The pool was beautiful and we went out on the sail boat and snorkeled in the ocean. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed for another week!
Pro's The Staff and their Service — Very Accommodating Preferred Club covered cabanas and upgraded drinks Internet — although a problem for others Pest control — I didn't even think of pest control until I was offsite. Average — Food — The food was slightly below average in most restaurants. We enjoyed the buffet the best. Rooms — Preferred Club didn't seem like anything special. The beach — In early June there a lot of seaweed and coral. Air Conditioning — Some folks really were unhappy about the AC Spa — Way too expensive. Coupons are a waste and a way to get you to go to a Sales Pitch. Don't go. Below Average — No hair conditioner No sunscreen Extremely overpriced sunscreen The food from room service was cold and not appetizing. Entertainment — The shows in the main lobby were of no interest. Movies on the beach — They were mostly at the pool and unattended The vendors — Just say No Garcias. Tip — I highly recommend taking a left and walking to Tropical Tips Go to Tropical Treasures — about one mile (pass two other resorts). Nice Russian woman with good products and prices. She also has affordable/professional massages Bring tons of sunscreen and hair conditioner Tip housekeeping Taking a cab outside of the airport will cost you $70 cash one way Fill out and pay the tax form at home before arriving Don't buy ANYTHING FROM THE VENDORS Buy cigars from Tropical Treasures vendor 1 mile down on the shore.
March 1 to 8, 2015. It was an "ok" experience. The lighting in the room was bad. We paid for a swim out room that was obscured by unkempt shrubbery and a drain. We complained and asked to be moved to the empty room next door, but nothing was done for us. The food was average unless you went to one of the specialty restaurants near the beach. Worst thing ever was being approached multiple times every single day about joining their timeshare that is not a timeshare! haha It seriously got old after a week. The best parts about our week there was the spa. Omg words cannot describe. And the wonderful people we met there! The staff was also just "ok". If this is an example of a 4 star, we will no longer attempt any resort under 5 stars. If you are looking for luxury, this resort isnt it.
Some of the best resort in the country, the pool area very spacious, the food excellent, very rich, my compliments to the chef. Thank you for your exceptional care. Highly recommend it.
5 stars all the way. The best time ever. My wife and I felt like we were among family. Great food and fun for 7 days. The housekeeping was top notch and the grounds and pool constantly cleaned and maintained. We will always remember this trip and the wonderful people of the DR.
Although the hotel is described as a paradise, and the view is beautiful, we experience the exact opposite of a paradise. On the second day of our visit, the electronic key to our room was stolen and the next day someone from the hotel staff came to our room and took two cell phones (iPhones). When we reported the theft, we did not receive much help or answer to our complaints, only confined themselves to blame us because we had not used the hotel safe. Apparently, it did not have any importance that among the staff were thieves. No one stay here its terrible.
Brilliant. The best holiday I've ever been on. I will go back one day hopefully more than once. The staff were so friendly it's like we'd known each other for years. The hotel was beautiful, the whole layout was well done. Plenty of different places to eat, loved the game section with pool tables, played ping pong with the staff everyday and made up our own games. Overall it was perfect, cried when I left.
My Vacation with my family was beautiful. I went over Spring break. From the minute we walked onto the resort we were given a drink. The restaurants were very good the buffet was great. The Chinese food and Steakhouse were my Favorite. The pool was beautiful. My kids Loved the Childrens Explorer the girls there made it so much fun for them. They had different activities for everyday. Our cleaning lady was exceptional she cleaned everything I asked her to she even changed the sheets 4 times in a week that we were there. I want to be back there. It was so great not to have to carry money around all day everything is included starting at 10 am drinks are served. We did carry about $20 for tips everyday. Loved it! And recommend it.
We just got back after a week at the resort and we would go again tomorrow. The resort was excellent, very clean, the rooms the same with AC that worked perfect. The beds where so comfortable, and the balcony so nice in the morning and evening From when you 1st walked in and they greeted you with a glass of wine, the front desk staff got us to our rooms very quickly. The pool areas where well staffed for be it towels or the odd cool drink. The restaurants had a great selection, the World Café was the perfect spot for breakfast each morning, but you could eat there each day and each meal and never try it all. The staff made the week, from the guys in the Barracuda bar, to the staff at the COCO, to the wonderful team who keep the rooms spotless the mini bars full, and to all who always greeted you when they meet. I have not stop signing the praise about the Dreams. They had us dancing a few evening at the stage with the live music. Fun fun fun we will be back but next year 2 weeks, thank you for a wonderful time.
The customer service at the Spa was brutal. Tried to a book a package for someone as a surprise. All I wanted to do was spend the money and have them put the package in their welcome kit. I had to follow up with 5 international phone calls after the spa booking to get someone from the spa to actually notify the guest of their surprise package. 5 phone calls over 4 days! Am I crazy or is that ridiculous? I guess they figured the guest would be clairvoyant and just wander into the spa looking for their surprise booking. Anyway, I'm sure its a nice resort, but not being able to take care of a simple request like that is mind boggling.
Worst vacation ever. Bed broken as soon as we got in room. Day 2 no hot water. Day 3 still no water and the safe is broken. Day 4 water fixed in morning but broke again later in the day. The staff replaced our safe without our knowledge and locked it. Our passports and money were in it. After complaining to management we got upgraded to breathless resort. Breathless was great.
This was our very first “vacation” as a family with our two children (7 years old and 22 months). We’ve taken many trips (to see family), but not a real vacation with activities and services. Our family needed this. Grounds: The grounds were gorgeous; lush, lots of palm trees, lots of shade, a very long pool that was almost the entire length of the resort which allowed for different experiences whether you wanted quiet time or a fun party time. The beach was beautiful and the water stunning. The flamingos and peacocks were awesome – our kids loved seeing them several times a day. Property: The property was old and unkempt. There were many repairs that were either unfinished or sloppily done (spackled but not sanded or painted), live wires, broken and missing pool tiles (my son and husband cut their foot a couple times on the bottom of the pool), the swim up bar had many missing tiles, etc. – the list goes on. Food: If you’re looking for good food, this is not the place. While there is plenty of it, the quality was not good. Staff: I found the staff to be all over the map. They were either unfriendly (it took 4 days for a pool waitress to ask us if we wanted a drink) or overly nice in a fake way. When we asked for something other than what was being offered, it was a very quick “no” (whole wheat bread instead of white). And when there was engagement with the staff, they didn’t make eye contact, it was if they were looking for someone else to talk to.
We have spent 14 amazing days there; recommend to book the preferred club for your "extra" :-) / Great beach and pool area; perfect restaurants and excellent staff (thank you Ms. Kenia, for your great service during our stay and Ms. Margarita from the Oceana restaurant! ) So guys, if you need a break from your "life" book this hotel and relax.
Epic. Shout out to Jean Carlos. Broken luggage was handled graciously and we are happy with many other employees of the resort. Anthony, Wilkens, Humberto and of course our cleaning lady in building 9,. Maria! I left my $100 sweater by accident and came back 6 hrs later and new people were already staying there. So we managed to get a hold of her through another person and Maria put it in lost n found at the concierge. Unbelievable. We are going back for sure. Good food, premium booze and wicked staff.
Super excellent! very friendly service, very good and hygienic food. Your staff with high standards of service. Very good and nice experience. We will return soon.
The best I've ever been, a great attention. On behalf of the boys (as) that make up the staff at the resort. And special mention of the pool area.
In general the resort is good (very nice employees and pool, nice food), with a few minor flaws (no free internet, some noisy rooms, relatively small rooms), but with a big flaw that will make me never go back: some employees steal Money from the rooms, with the tacit acceptance of the security people. 200 USD were stolen from the pocket of my shorts, which were hanging in a chair in the room. No door or window was broken, so only employees could have done it, and their access was registered. The security people did not seem very interested or worried when I reported the thef. They promised feedback in 24h, but I had to insist after 48h and the answer was "There is nothing that we can do".
We started our trip at the Iberostar Punta Cana. For what we paid, we were very disappointed with that resort. The food, the drinks, the rooms, the staff, atmosphere. All sub par. We called Travelocity on day 2 to switch resorts and picked Dreams based on reviews. Our group of 6 was blown away by this place. Everything about it was better than Iberostar (and many others I heard complaints about in the airport). I've seen some reviews with petty complaints about the food. Please disregard these. The buffet was great for all-inclusive standards and the restaurants on-site were fantastic. The other guests were happy, friendly, and outgoing too. The staff were all great — lots of different personalities. The rooms were well-stocked and they even left us surprises throughout the week; champagne, wine, chocolates, and plenty of bottled water. I will recommend this place over and over again. Thanks dreams.
One of the best Springs I have attended fascinated me very good food, treat you the best, great for kids fun area, this resort is the ultimate I am crazy for return.
Words can't explain how much I fell in love with this resort. "Excelente" is an understatement! Hospitality and the at home feeling was at an all time high. Was always greeted with a smile and attended to. I really can't find anything bad to say about this place. It was heaven on earth and everything I needed and more. The lazy river was great and the atmosphere I can't stop raving about. Not sure if this place would be as good as it was without the entertainment staff: Ne-Yo, Shaggy, Ducky P, Juan, Yanely, Mr. Volante y'all are all an amazing part of Dreams. These knew how to get the party started and keep it going. Zumba, dance parties, and games in the pool, dancing under the stars at Plaza Santo Domingo, ohhhh and the shows at the theatre. I must admit though the Dreams Entertainment team kept me laughing (in tears at times) and more entertained then the main event. Oh and Melanie "mi bon bon" her personality was just amazing! All in all I can't wait to go back. I can't stop raving about how great this place is to my friends, families, and coworkers. Already planning a trip back.
I had a great time here, the beach was nice with waves for everyone. The Staff is very friendly. The food was good, though sometimes way too salty to the point where we could not eat it. The bars were well stocked too. The site was also very clean.
Had a good time but not recommended. AC not working anywhere. Had to change room and still. Thats unacceptable in that climate. Food is ok. Beach only available 1/3 and staff is very friendly but unprofessional.
All very excellent. Starting x staff and food, entertainment and hygiene! Batista family.
Excellent, very good, the service, the staff, the intanaciones are excellent.
