We stayed here on our way from La Fortuna to Puerto Viejo. Anita was very kind, showed us to our room.

I stayed here hoping to see poison dart frogs. Because there wasn’t much rain, it was difficult to find them, but thanks to Anita’s help, I was able to see them one by one.

Perfect Hostel! The service team is wonderful — they really care about you, know which tours you have booked and ask how your day was. Better than in some hotels!

Really enjoyed my stay here. Close to the beach access and close walk to the river.
The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful. We met the owner who was a very lovely man!

Fantastic! The kitchen was well stocked (oil, rice, and many seasonings, albeit no free coffee/tea) and clean.

Really fun hostel in a peaceful location but still within short walking distance to the town. Lovely staff too.

Stayed here with pops in July and was an amazing experience. Very friendly atmosphere and good vibes, I recommend this spot as a 10 out of 10 if you need a place to stay.

We decided to stay in San Francisco instead of Tortuguero.
Good choice! After parking your car, get your boat tickets and enjoy the wonderful boat ride.

We loved our stay here. First the set up in the little village of San Francisco and by the water is gorgeous. I couldn't get enough of the view from the breakfast porch.

My friend and I each rented a private room for a couple nights. It was very peaceful. The staff is so friendly and helpful, good vibes. The rooms have comfy queen beds.

IMPORTANT! New management, new owner. I highly recommend visiting this place—Pablo, the owner, makes you feel right at home.

5 stars for a really friendly front desk staff. I accidentally showed up to this hostel because I was very lost.

Some of the bad reviews feel very dramatic to me. The staff were all lovely, breakfast was great, and Wi-Fi reached our room which was furthest from communal spaces.

Very nice, clean, excellent care very good location in front of the beach of cocles, has a good fauna and the cleaning lady kimari helped us a lot…

Amazing stay! My man & I stayed there for three weeks. Super cozy and close to all the right places. If we needed anything service was always efficient and helpful. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful hostel! Very clean, the people are kind. I dorm was a little bit small but overall I can recommend travellers staying at the secret garden.

Amazing hostel, perfect shared bathrooms (the toilet paper is perfect 🤩). We saw a sloth the night that we arrived! Good location, everything is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Best beach view on Tortuguero. You can make a lot of dog friends and enjoy beers in the evenings with great view.

We had a very nice time here. The rooms are very clean and the place is very quiet. The beach is right next to the building.
