Loved staying here! Staff is super friendly and very helpful with tours. Room was large and clean. Grounds are gorgeous. Nice outdoor living space and kitchen. Can’t wait to visit again!

Great value! for the standard price of a meal in Tortuguero you receive one of the best meals in town.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and helpful. We felt at home there, especially in the lovely common area with beds and tables to lounge on. We were close to the village center, while still being a bit off so you got a feeling of walking through the community. The excursions planned through the staff were uniformly excellent. The tiny little morning bistro made really fantastic breakfasts for a reasonable price (and a little time). Most importantly, the coffee was fabulous. Our only complaint is in payment. We paid for the hotel itself with a credit card; however, the excursions, which were added to our tab to be paid at checkout, were only payable in cash. This came as quite a surprise to us and lead to a mild panic as we tried to get sufficient cash out of the ATM, pay up, and get to the dock before the ferry left. For whatever reason, the staff didn't mention this while we were signing up for the excursions. Still, this is not enough reason to dampen our enthusiasm for an otherwise great experience.

We loved our two nights at aracari hostel. We are a family of four and had the family room. It had a double bed and a set of bunk beds and its own large shower room with toilet. It was plenty big enough for all of us and was clean and comfortable. The rooms were hot during the day but the fans kept us cool in the evening. It is right next to the beach which meant we could easily get up to watch the sunrise. We booked a package with the night tour and canoe tour which were both amazing and definitely recommended. Both times our tour guide was Luis and he was very knowledgeable. We ate twice at the onsite bistro run by Celine and Diego and the food was fantastic. If you are looking for somewhere affordable, centrally located and with a chilled out vibe, this is your place.

Good position, close to the see, within the local town center. The staff is really nice, they allowed me to change the reservation due to one of my many travel mistakes. The dorms are not too big, and the kitchen is really good. I would like to thank Angi, of the stuff, for being really nice with me. Really recommended.

Have stayed in many hostels around the world and I must say that this is one of the best. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great amenities and a relaxed vibe that really makes it a home from home and a great place to meet other travellers/just relax in a hammock by yourself. The tours they organise are excellent value for money. Fully recommended.

We had a great stay at Aracari Garden. The room was clean and comfortable and tidied daily. The kitchen can get a bit tight when there are lots of people cooking but hey, we got to meet lots of great people. They were also knowledgeable about the area and got us set with some wonderful tours.

Perfect place to stay in Tortuguero! Alejandro and his wife are very welcoming, excellent advice and, above all, of excellent guides to make a tour by boat and discover the animals of the area. Very clean, quiet, super garden with hammocks, 5 minutes ' walk from the heart of the city!

One of the best hostel of our stay. Very warm welcome of the owners, charming place with a garden where you can observe parrots, toucans and iguanas. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The towers in the canoe offered are pretty neat : Luis, our guide, is so that we can see animals : Alligators, birds of all kinds, spider monkeys, … in short, a great experience!

Fantastic hostel, one of the best I've ever stayed in! Super friendly staff, amazing private rooms (fluffy white towels, hot water, the comfiest bed! ) — you really get a lot for your money. Great coffee in the morning and fully equipped kitchen. I would love to stay here again.

The price is acceptable, the rooms are clean, airy, simple. The common site where is the kitchen, the dining room and some beds office sofa is cheerful and has board games to pass the time while it rains. Wifi works well. The people of the hostel are very friendly. Talk with Ms. Marva (who works there)
on the medicinal plants was very rewarding.

Good value for money. The towers proposed, very classic, was carried out with Luis, a guide to the most motivated (in particular for the turtles) and very nice.
Aracari garden has basic but very comfortable common areas.

I loved staying here! I stayed in 7 hostels during my trip in Costa Rica and this was by far the best. The room was clean and spacious, and the owners were some of the friendliest and most helpful people I met during my time in Costa Rica. They were able to accommodate an early check in for me, and set me up on the best tours. They made everything convent and easy. The hostel itself is a beautiful and central property. It is clean and has a relaxing common area with a full kitchen. I met awesome people and enjoyed every minute of my stay. My only regret was only staying one night! Tortuguero and especially Aracari Garden were the highlight of my trip. Thanks!

Half the attraction of Aracari is the attached tour guide Luis, whose morning canoe tour was incredible, one of the best experiences during our month in Costa Rica — it should be on your Tortuguero todo-list whatever you came for, book it from the Aracari reception. The hostel itself has super sweet and helpful staff, decent rooms and a cozy common area around the kitchen. Altogether well deserving of the high Tripadvisor score.

Central location. Walk to national park, restaurants, boat dock, grocery, nature walk, canoe trip. Clean basic suites with great owners.

Certainly one of the best place to stay in Tortuguero. Affordable (10$US in a dorm), laundry service, kitchen, guided tour, etc. I recommend the night tour at this hotel as groups are much smaller than other companies.

This very well, a few cabins that resemble aparthotels Goodfellas but all very rural, entertaining and a touch of hippie, for a couple of nights rather than well.

There are so many good things about this hostel that We would like to Summarize in 2 words: perfect week! In this hostel we had the best times in Tortuguero: the tours were amazing, very clean rooms and facilities, and we loved all the staff too… Counting the volunteers of course! :D
