Decent cheap place to stay near the port. It's fairly run-down and humid, a bit musty, but surprisingly the pool is very clean and nice (cool water, mix of shade and sun). They have a shared dorm that costs only 35, 000 pesos per person, and seemed less musty than some of the private rooms. No air conditioning, just small fans mounted on the wall. No lockers. The bathrooms for the dorm are very basic, and if it's raining you'll have to walk briefly through the rain to get to them. Drinking water is provided (usually cold, sometimes with hot option), and there's a sink and a few dishes and mugs (nothing kitchen floor cooking). Ask for a key — they lock the front door at night. The staff seemed really nice to me (I spoke Spanish with them). There were some mosquitos in the courtyard at night, but not a lot, and I didn't have any problem in the dorm with the fan on. If you need to hang out somewhere with air conditioning, the restaurant at the Waira Hotel nearby is open to the public.
