Excellent location next to Taipei Main Station, but that’s where the positives mostly end.
Rooms are small with limited storage, uncomfortable pillows, and misleading, outdated photos (no real “city view” as advertised — our view was blocked by two large construction buildings). The hotel is a shared office space with long elevator waits, not a proper standalone hotel lobby (check-in counter located at the 4th floor and we’ve also seen many other tourists experience similar confusion). The only plus-point for the rooms were the bathtub and the toilet seat with seat warmers and bidet. Toilet paper quality was crappy (pun intended).
Breakfast and “afternoon tea” were extremely underwhelming and poorly managed, and service was inconsistent—some staff were friendly, others cold or rude (notably at the co-working space who emphasised “not all guests” have access to the space and even after explaining that we do, we were met with more rudeness and that we had to book it in advance online — which we were not informed by the staff prior — even though the area was practically empty! ) We also found that booking platforms had been advertising this as a four-star hotel when it isn’t, which explains the mismatch in expectations. There were free snacks (crackers, chips, etc) and free water at the check-in lobby at the 4th floor and that’s the only commendable thing about the hotel.
