Booked a classic double room with no windows since it was the cheapest option. It's not the nicest hotel, but for the price, it does it's job.
Pros:
— Free washer/dryer and the lounge area has free coffee.
— If you spend 4 or more nights, you get a free tote.
— You can choose what amenities to grab (shower caps, hand soap, slippers, razors). The room has shampoo and body soap (no conditioner)
— Rooms were separated from the elevator and to swipe your key card to just get into the hallway.
— Fairly quiet. No complaints on noise.
— Workers there are very nice.
— Less than 5 min walking distance from the Taipei Main Station.
— McD and conveyor belt sushi on the 1st and 2nd floors.
Cons:
— They don't provide towels in the room. You have to get them yourself from the laundry room. They do give you small disposable towels, but they will let you know where to get cloth towels when you check in (they're not the nicest towels…)
— Elevators are small and can take awhile since there are more hotels and businesses within the building.
— Wifi is in and out all the time. I wouldn't rely on it at all.
I stayed at Apause near Taipei Main Station for 7 nights. The location is excellent, directly across from the station, which makes getting around very easy. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially when I requested a room change.
However, cleanliness is a major issue. My first room had visible mould in the bathroom. The staff moved me to another room, which was better but still had mould present. This is not acceptable, even at this price point.
The room size was reasonable, and at under 2000 NTD per night, the price feels fair for the location. But the hygiene issues outweigh the value.
There was also a strong smell in the hallways every day, likely from heavy use of bleach mixed with artificial air freshener.
Another concerning issue was repeatedly finding long black hairs in the sink, on the bathroom walls, and on the floor during my stay. I have short hair, and there were none when I first checked in. I did not request housekeeping at any point, so it was unclear why new hairs kept appearing…
Overall, while the location and staff are positives, the cleanliness issues, especially mould, mean I would not stay here again.

The hotel is at a great location, beside Taipei station and the first floor has a McDonald's. There is a laundry area and a tiny gym. The room is small and simple. Just beware that they use disposable towels and you can request for proper towel. They won't clean your room unless you request for it.
