Great hotel in the centre of downtown (financial district). The service and staff were helpful and pleasant, and the hotel is clean and well maintained. Bonus huge artisan shop on the main level. Very comfy bed. The only downside to the hotel is the rooms are very small, also initially my room was beside a group of (what sounded like) 8 people. Walls are relatively sound proof but not to screaming guests. Staff was very helpful and I was moved to another room.

On the lower floor of the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth you'll find Les Artisans, a gourmet grocery store beloved of Montreal foodies. Along side delectable treats from around the world, there is also an excellent butcher and a grand selection of fish and seafood. In the middle of the store is a beautifully designed sandwich bar where any selection of delicious ready made food is available to enjoy. Les Artisans is the perfect place to find a perfect gift for the foodie in your life or to stock up on every kind of rare and delicious condiment. But beware, it is the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, so bring A LOT of money. You'll need it.

Beautiful hotel. Very modern, updated rooms. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Although the hotel is located in a very busy area, it is very quiet inside. Only downside is the small vanity area in the bathroom, can make getting ready a bit of a juggling act. My husband and I were here for our anniversary, and the hotel surprised us with a beautiful and delicious dessert in our room! 5 stars!

We went Fairmont Gold. Wonderful experience. Everything was top notch. Breakfast and late afternoon appetizers were offered. Both excellent. Clean comfortable. Nespresso and tea selections in the room. Mini-bar, robes and safe for valuables. Metro right below us.

The Nacarat is very good, but still… I cannot say that it is too expensive for what it is: it would probably be unfair, unnecessarily severe; Only, for us other good people of the plebs Rustica, it's a little farting higher than the hole than going to drink a shot. The Manhattan alone is worth the detour, but not the dry Martini — an art yet major! Who gets lost, Withers, Affadit and dies in the hands of young, fashionable bartenders, drowned in recklessness. The service is impeccable, pleasing by its delicacy and hushed with discretion.

Spent a weekend at this truly fantastic hotel, and I have only good things to say. The styling and design is really nice. Our junior suite faced the "inside" of the hotel, so the view wasn't particularly nice. However, the room itself was newly redone and very well appointed. Very comfortable bed, modern tiled shower with really nice fixtures, two extremely large HD TVs, comfortable furniture… it had it all. The coffee shop and restaurant were good (though I would probably suggest going "a la carte" instead of spending the $30 on the fairly run of the mill breakfast buffet). Our kids visited the pool no less than three times, and again, I think it is so classy and just plain impressive… just like everything else about this place, it's all luxury and all class, all the way.

Location is great! Very Central and connects underground with most of the downtown Montreal. Room is amazingly clean and comfortable. Nespresso cafe in room for use is wonderful. Guest and staff are very helpful, accommodating and friendly. All bilingual.

This is a very fancy place. Well decorated and very modern. If I weren't here with a business group rate it would be out of my price range. However, the rooms are small and you can hardly turn around in the bathroom. Staff are friendly. There is no fridge in the room only a mini bar fridge with charges and if you even move an item you are charged for it. The elevators are terrible. There are eight of them but we all stand outside of them waiting for 10 minutes. Then one shows up. Then the same one comes back. There is a lovely marketplace inside the hotel. I think is one of the best features of this hotel.

We went to the bar to chat with a friend from London. She stayed at the hotel for 3 days and everything was perfect except for the service at the bar. The problem was that it was missing all the beers in bottle and nobody warned us before we ordered 10 minutes after receiving the menu. But besides this small detail, I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice renovations they did in 2016-2017. Beautiful 60th event. Conference rooms conducive to innovation. Nice restaurant, etc.

The Queen Elizabeth is a fantastic hotel in downtown Montreal. The rooms are clean, well decorated and understated. The hotel staff are very helpful and quick to do their jobs well. There is a little bit of big city attitude from time to time, but that's local flavour. The Concierge pointed us to a restaurant that was exactly what we were looking for on our last night here. We did have a couple of bumps when we checked in (a leak in the bathroom). New room keys were quickly brought to us and we were on our way with a valet moving our suitcases. Montreal is one of the finest big city destinations that I have been to in a while. Very affordable with amazing food, culture, entertainment and events. Le Reine Elizabeth, as it is known locally, has class and charm.

The concierge team, Marie-Lou and Carole-Ann were amazing. They went above and beyond to resolve an issue with customs and UPS. We are extremely grateful to them for ensuring that our conference at the Queen Elizabeth was able to continue without a hitch. Exceptional customer service in every way. Thank you.

Very good hotel, great, comfortable and modern. Good location if you come for business and just a walk to the historic center of Montreal. There is only one problem, the carpet in the room is thick and you charge static electricity… you hit every calambrazo you don't see.

Amazing stay in an iconic Montreal Hotel. This hotel has an amazing lobby connected to the underground arteries of the hart of Montreal. The rooms are new, up to date renovation completing a fresh feel on a landmark. If uou are staying in Montreal, this is the place to stay. John Lennon picked a great spot for a bed in, so did we!

It's a great hotel in downtown Montreal. The price of the rooms is very comeasured compared to the price of hotels in Europe. However, they charge you for anything extra, such as access to Wi-Fi.

Unnecessary expensive. Clean, classy very modern place. Good location! Whirlpool and swimming pool is kind of small for a hotel like that. And get ready to spend some more $$$. Parking $35 /24h, no free Wi-Fi. Water bottle 1L — $9 (). Want fridge in the room? $25 per day. I don't think will be back there.

The renovations have updated a building rich in history while keeping it a hallmark that only a hotel of this size can own.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here with my family to catch a Canadiens game. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the lounge where I escaped for a few hours to soak up the view. Would definitely book again. Great stay.

A great brunch. The food is exceptional, the staff is friendly and friendly. The place has been tastefully renovated.

Sunday Brunch is excellent! For the price, the quality is well worth the effort. There is a very nice variety of dishes and everything is so good! It was the first time we had been there since the renovations and I must say it is very beautiful!

The hotel is warm and inviting makes you want to stay longer. The room was clean and everything in working order. The restaurant food was fantastic, I had dinner and the service is quick and the staff friendly. Great location, close too everything downtown. Front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. I defiantly love staying here whenever I am in town.

Major renovation greatly improved this storied hotel. Check out the food court on the ground floor. Excellent concierge services. They wrote the book on this.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in February. I have stayed at this property many times pre-renovation; however, post-renovation it's amazing! New Fairmont Gold lounge is beautiful. Food spread was excellent. Wonderful Montreal Bagels in the morning :) Service was great. The new beds are out of this world. Sheets… one of the best sleep experiences ever. Room was very sound proof and looked excellent. Highly recommend — love this place!

The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth has been recently renovated all over, giving very nice looking rooms, with very good personnel and other amenities. The staff were all very nice, very helpful. The room where we stayed was quite comfortable, the bed had a very new, soft mattress with great support. My wife and I had a great time.

I don't give out five star reviews often but this one is well deserved. Hands down one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in awhile. The rooms are fresh and recently updated, the lobby and service was excellent, the bars and restaurants were nice and it was reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this place for trips to Montreal!

Since the recent renovations, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel has a completely new face! The facilities are now very modern and there are several contemporary works of art installed here and there that blend well with the décor. Although the hotel is very large and there are a lot of people, there is a good soundproofing.

Very clean and professional hotel. Stayed here for a conference and all the staff were caring and personable. The concierge did a great job directing us to perfect places to eat and visit. The rooms were kept very clean by kind and attentive housekeepers. There is a lovely market in the hotel, train terminal connected to the hotel and many restaurants nearby in waking distance. Enjoyed the stay and would come again.

Good location and excellent service.

They did a great job in modernizing. Very original decor. Stylish but very classy as well. Quiet hotel with good beds and great pillows. The washroom is a little small but the room is great. Nespresso. Coffee machine and a kettle. I enjoy a herbal tea at the end of a night and a kettle is often rare in hotels. Very practical hotel because it’s attached to the underground city. So you can comfortably shop in winter without winter coats. The little pool area is nice. Small pool but nice. Fast elevators is nice for crowded days. Very well located.

Good Hotel and Convention Center.

Beautifully renovated I was most impressed by the seating areas so many of them and the chairs so architecturally different it was impressive. Friendly staff overall your typical Fairmont expertise they always do their best to make sure your stay is pleasant. The chocolate cookies in the mini bar are delicious. Comfy beds very cozy room setting the bathrooms clean and modern nicely Done. No complaints.

Hard to beat the convenience of having one's hotel right above the train station. The hotel is newly renovated and very beautiful. Friendly staff and attentive service have been the norm and it has always been worthwhile to return.

Good location in downtown Montreal, right above the train station. Hotel renovated last year. Hallways for some reason have absolutely no ventilation. And no floor maps to tell you where your room is once you get off the elevators. But the renovation is nice overall. Rooms are in great condition and we had a wonderful stay. Rosely's is the main restaurant, and breakfast is fine there. Dinner was so-so. I think, all in all, I actually prefer the old Queen Elizabeth more… maybe it's just me.

Attended a work conference at the newly renovated Queen E Hotel. The lobby on the 2nd floor, where we spent most of our free time was beautiful! Comfy seats everywhere, with mini tables if you wanted to place a drink or take out the laptop. Plugs nearby as well; it was well thought out for networking type events. The conference rooms were not renovated, impossible. Just the carpet alone, which appeared to not have been vacuumed recently was enough of an indication. But I gave 5* anyway because the food was Ah-mazing! We had a beet salad with candied pecans to start, an Alfredo lasagna and then a custard pie type dessert. Heavenly!

Rosélys Restaurant. Good choice service your good. A little noisy.

I was there for a business function during the day. The venue was clean and professional. Good job on the recent renovation. Amenities were adequate, food was good. Only complaint is the distance to the restroom depending on which room one is in.

The places were freshly renovated and in a very nice way. On the other hand, for the price, the rooms are small and the bed was not a king, despite our request.

The hotel is conveniently located above the underground shopping center. The lobby is very spacious allowing us to meet our friends staying there in a comfortable and private setting. The rooms are regular sized but well furnished.

A beautiful reception room that can accommodate professional events in a chic and casual setting. Small downside for consumptions that are overpriced, and during a last consumption an invoice would not even have been handed over…

We were guests for two nights at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. She has only been open for 2 months since the completion of full renovations, and it is now a stunning property. Beautiful rooms, complement the new interior design. The amenities are top notch, and you HAVE to visit the hotel restaurant for their chocolate cake, it was to die for! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting downtown Montreal!

The Fairmont is an amazing hotel with amazing services and amenities that are there when you need. The counter was nice and the room was clean. Pressed sheet and no hair etc. The only problem would be that the air vents looked like hey haven't been cleaned in a while with a layer of black dust or particles hat have been left there for a while. Aside from that, the hotel is outstanding.

A complete renovation done to this old building. Rooms are very well equipped and updated elegance. Very comfortable. Only complaint is the feel of the place is different from what you expect from traditional Fairmont hotels.

This is my fifth stay at a fairmont hotel. I love ❤️ these hotels. The location of this hotel is perfect if you are looking to explore Montreal. You can easily access the metro without having to leave the hotel. If you should eat in the hotel Jean is the best server. He knew all of our needs before us asking for anything I was very impressed!

We absolutely loved our stay at the newly renovated Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth! We had stayed here a few years ago but just loved how they updated the rooms and the overall look and feel of the hotel. The concierge services were super friendly and accomodating, even sending us text messages throughout our stay asking if we needed anything. The bathroom was nicely done and the bed was super comfy! We had a great time!

We went for a trade show and unfortunately I have to say that I am extremely disappointed. Big gap in service, we could feel the lack of employees so they running everywhere and seemed disorganized. Everything requires an overload, the money seems much more important than the service. And what about the parking service: The worst I've ever had. All the toll terminals were out of order, so obviously a long line in front of the valet and even after paying my parking ticket, no one told me that I had to go and see another valet outside to validate my ticket. A lot of coming and going and wasted time… the employees of the parking company even threatened to tow my car.
For a prestige hotel like Queen Elizabeth, this is totally unacceptable, all the people in my group will say the same thing: Never again!

Understanding that the hotel is closing soon for a year long renovation, but it is fair to say that the upkeep has been minimal during these final months. My first room was nonsmoking but had clearly been recently smoked in. I was promptly moved to another room but this one had a mildewy smell of an air conditioner in need of attention. The tub porcelain was wearing off in places but other than that the room was relatively spacious and clean. Even with a skeleton crew I can say that the staff was very courteous, helpful and professional. For example, my wallet fell out of my pocket in the lobby and within minutes I received an email that they had found it. I look forward to staying after the renovations are complete.

Nice hotel — building is a little older but the upkeep is great. Staff interaction is excellent, as you would expect from a Fairmont hotel. Nice bar area if you like drinks and the lobby has a lot of chairs. There's always staff some and there's also a restaurant that you can smell delicious food when walking out from the elevator.

I've stayed at the Queen E a number of times in the past few years. It is a wonderfully located hotel for business and pleasure, uniquely being connected to the central train station, and being close to the old port, Griffintown, McGill University, and the bustling shopping district downtown. The staff are fantastic, from reception to the valet, bar staff and concierge! I have always found everyone there to be efficient, courteous and friendly. Yes, the rooms feel a bit tired but they were certainly comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we weren't able to hear our neighbours, but there are insufficient plugs in the rooms from contemporary needs, and lightning in the bathroom is a bit awkward. That said, there are about to shut for renovations so hopefully all those kinks will be taken care of. When the 'old dame reopens we'll definitely stay here again.

It was a quick and typical check in process nothing too spectacular. The room was relatively clean and well stocked with everything, other than toothbrush, toothpaste. The only complaint I had was that one of the towels were a bit dirty. The customer service was quick and house keeping was as well (when I needed the towels and toothbrushs).

Stayed at Room 621. Had a broken shower head, but the stay felt clean and pleasant. Wish Wi-Fi was free.

Stayed overnight at the Queen Elizabeth. Super friendly staff and was able to answer my questions regarding luggage storage and places to visit around town. The room was really clean and comfortable. Make sure you enroll in the Fairmont presidents club to get free Wi-Fi.

An Institute! Be sure to dine at the restaurant bar traveler where the Ben Daneau chef will cook you a delight in front of you!

The rooms definitely need to be renovated, lamps were flickering, closet doors didn't close properly, the wallpaper in the bathroom is peeling off and the toilet took a long time to flush. Kind of upsetting after paying $300+ / night!

Assessing the kitchen at the Restaurant average Montrealers to poor for this price range. The presentation of the plate and the serving of fruit were inadequate. A single glass of 4 oz (without refill) juice (punch…) for almost $ 6 it's too little to too expensive.
The service was good however. A lot of refill for water and coffee without having to make a request. The plates came quickly and the food was hot.
The buffet hours should be displayed in the menu in our rooms. We lived the frustration to get to 10:36 while the buffet ended at 10:30. The room service for lunch finished at 11:30. A little consistency or indication of the hours in the rooms would be well appreciated next time.
The hotel bar was good.
Correct, although food for these awards frankly disappointing and unimaginative whereas the gastronomic reputation of Montreal. The Queen Elizabeth in need of a better culinary conductor for its restaurants in my opinion.
Paris-Texas, my choice, had a lot of juice that flowed and made it difficult to eat fried. Not exactly the ideal to eat with dignity in a bar. In short, a dish to rethink my opinion.
The dishes in general should be more accommodating for people who drink:
Maybe partition portions to make it easier to eat with one hand? Less of dishes juicy? More large plates to work his meal? Best knives, sharp and solid?

It was good. Super friendly (like very very nice) and overall good experience. Literally nothing to complain about. Rooms were clean and food was pretty good. Good area. Good job fairmont.

Clean rooms. Food provided to our conference was varied and good. Very attentive staff. Simple bus ride to the front door from the airport.

Great location with access to underground system. Room was good but Ac was noisy. The final hotel invoice was also higher than advertised price.

The suite on the 20th floor offers a fantastic view. The charm of the hotel lies within its feel of majestic antiquity. Very elegant and definetetly feels prestigious and royale.

There was no clear signage for parking directions when we arrived. There was unclear signage around the parking area about full lots. When we arrived there was no obe available to help with luggage and no one to even guide us to where to ask for help. Bell hop took close to 20 min to arrive once we fibally found someone to help. The room was clean and ready early, but instructions for check out were unclear. Elevators were very slow… with waits of up to 25 min when trying to go anywhere.

My husband had to fly to Montreal for business on his 50th birthday so we wanted him to have something special waiting for him when he arrived at the Fairmont. With the staff's help and recommendations, I selected a special bottle of wine and some truffles, and these were in his room when he arrived with a hand-written card. He said everything was wonderfully presented, the wine was "awesome" (as were the truffles and room-service dinner) — and I can't thank the staff enough for pulling this together under time pressure on what was a busy day at the hotel (election day). It's true I did not stay there, but they treated me like a guest even hundreds of miles away.

The beds, sheets, and pillows are all very dated and very uncomfortable. On par with a 2-star budget hotel (if not worse, comfort wise). Definitely will not stay here again. To Le Germain!

Nice hotel, small rooms. That's the nature of historic hotels. Convenient to many downtown Montreal attractions. Charging for internet these days is criminal as well as the cost of the non-optional valet parking. It should be free to guests. Really! The best feature for me is the beds are comfortable and I get a good sleep. I like the history and feel of the property and being able to walk to most of my destinations from this central location.

Even as a President Club member this hotel makes it next to impossible to change or cancel a booking with a refund as promised. Bad customer service has ensured that Fairmont has lost my loyalty.

Great place to stay if you are arriving by train, and conveniently attached to the underground mall. Charging for internet is tacky, though.

Pretty average hotel considering the brand and pricing. Rooms are tiny. Water pressure is nonexistent and beds are well worn and uncomfortable. Decor is handsome and tasteful. Service is hit or miss; some are lovely and accommodating while others are condescending and difficult.

Perfect when arriving in Train. No need to walk in the Streets. I pre booked over the Internet and my room was ready when I arrived at noon time. Room and bathroom were great and breakfast simple but good. Location superb. I would definitely recommend it.

Rooms are updated, service is good. This hotel has history, as it was the hotel John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed for their bed-in. The Queen Elizabeth is centrally located near downtown Montreal.

Nice place to stay. Unless you are looking for a hot shower after a long trip, and think Wi-Fi will be free. Really the shower water is luke warm at best and $16 for Wi-Fi? (Per day). Or did I expect to much for $375.70 yes $375.50 for a cool shower and pricey Internet access.

So I booked a room, I told them I had a 1 year old and a 3 year old, we get to the hotel, see the room, it has 2 beds and so small there was no space for a crib. I went to front desk to raise the concern as my baby should not sleep in an elevated bed. They said "I booked through Expedia so nothing they can do there unless I paid 100 dollars more". I certainly did not book through Expedia, I called Fairmont directly.

My gf and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend. We had driven up from Toronto. The only 2 parking options are a municipal public parking lot and valet parking which actually isn't owned or run by the hotel but they imply differently. We chose the valet parking because we assumed there would be some security there however that is not the case. When checking out we noticed that everything in the car was rifled through and thrown on the floor with some items stolen. The lock wasn't picked and there was no damage to the car at all. When we reported the issue to the valet parking service and the hotel they did nothing to try and help, pointed fingers at each other for the issue and blamed us for leaving something in the car. Upon talking to the valet further it turns out that in the past month 4 other cars were broken into with items stolen. There is no gated entry, it's wide open and anyone can walk around and help themselves to the car. We have no evidence of who broke in the car but we find it suspicious that the car was not broken into. The valet attendant also told us that the hotel is aware of the issue and implied that no one is really doing anything about it. The hotel itself is nice and in a good location but if you are driving to Montreal I recommend you use the municipal parking (cheaper and looked safer) or stay at a different hotel like the Sheraton that actually has their own secure parking lot.
