I called to make a reservation at the Holiday Inn this morning. We had to find a hotel immediately, for tonight, as well as for the next few days as emergency work was taking place in our home and power would be out. We had no prior notice and were in a scramble. I called first thing this morning. The front desk concierge walked me through the booking process, then when I went to confirm my postal code she told me since I was from Sudbury I was not permitted to stay in the hotel. It was hotel policy in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions. (Are the people who work in this hotel not from Sudbury? ) While I understand the need for restrictions, if all hotels have this policy, how does one seek emergency accommodations in their own city? I asked the concierge to have her manager call me as soon as possible given our situation. It is now 3 hours later, no call from a manager ever came. Total lack of common courtesy. If anyone ever needed help in case of an emergency I would hope they'd be treated better than we were. I've booked a stay with another company in town who made sure to confirm with me quickly as we cannot be without a place to stay. Would not recommend.

I got in at 10 in the night the person on the desk was very rude and uninformed. I woke up only to banging steel doors as I was on the “Ramsey” wing bottom floor. I went to speak to someone when I checked out and the lady told me there’s nothing she could do her hands were tied. Not worth the money.

Friendly place. Good food, heated pool, friendly staff, great service.

Checkin was smooth we are in the Ramsey wing, we have a pet with us. Room is large and very clean. Beds are comfortable.

It was a nice stay. However, I don’t like being charged an additional $200 for damage deposit. Why is this a policy?

Found it hard trying to find a way around the hotel. We were here a parent company business there were about eight of us for a week we could not even get a complementary cup of coffee down in the lobby also not even our breakfast. Another group of people stayed at the Hampton Inn we had to go over there and get breakfast at least they are they open up early so that group can go in and sit down and have a bite to eat I asked the front desk howbcome they don’t do it here and she told me to go to McDonald’s that’s open.

We were staying at the Holiday Inn this weekend for a hockey tournament. The room was not clean at all! The shower was very dirty and the drain was clogged so bad, it was overflowing. We had a buffet breakfast and it was not very good at all. We left to go for a hockey game this morning, came back and the room still had not been cleaned! I called the front desk and they said that housekeeping was late today. Really? Not impressed with this hotel at all! I never leave reviews online, but had to for this one.

Great stay. Went for our nephew's wedding and it couldn't have gone better. Clean room, friendly staff and positive atmosphere all around. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is disgusting. Corridor carpet is filthy. Room is Beyond worn out. Baseboards are coming off, lights burned out, ceiling paint is peeling. Floor in the room is absolutely filthy, like don't-take-your-shoes-off filthy! Sheets are stained. Front staff are unconcerned. Melissa at the front desk is sickly pacifying and fake. Air conditioner in room sounds like a diesel truck running. Disgusting stay — spend your $$ somewhere else.

Great stay in Sudbury. Cool vibe in the lobby and friendly (is Canada! ) Front desk staff. Clean rooms and good location. Make sure you got to Tommy's not Here for dinner — that is really the name of the restaurant…

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sudbury Holiday Inn. We went for a swim with our two small kids and they loved the pool there. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom had a really nice and large glass shower. All of the employees we were in contact with were friendly and helpful. If we return to Sudbury we would definitely consider staying here again. The only negative thing I would say is that there isn't anything to do within walking distance that we noticed other than restaurants but it didn't seem to be in a bad part of town.

I’m in Sudbury for a funeral so this was my venue of choice close to all the arrangements. I was greeted by a cheerful Donna M. As I walked up to the Check-in desk. She confirmed all my information, scanned my credit card, got me to sign or initial a form in several places, gave me 2 room access cards and pointed me in the direction of my room. Very nice! Very efficient! It’s a nice hotel with lots of amenities like free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour fitness room, a swimming pool, and a restaurant/dining room. There are gas stations, restaurants and malls close to this hotel and less than 5km to the City Centre downtown core. My room had two double beds and a good setup. The A/C was worth the $133 room rate!

My latest visit to the Holiday Inn was for a professional event hosted by a wholesaler. The location is very well cared for with modern finishes that you would expect from a recently renovated hotel. Wi-Fi is available with good reception, the food is good (although I didn't detect any actual cream in the cream of vegetable soup) and the service is courteous. The front desk is helpful in terms of pointing guests in the right direction, the coffee is plentiful and the AV equipment is well suited to giving a presentation for about 50 attendees. Location is convenient for highway access but not ideal if you're going to be in the North end of the city. Its South End location is fantastic for anybody coming to check out the University, attending medical appointments which predominantly take place in the South End, or for those simply seeking to explore the city. I did not attend the restaurant upstairs on this visit however I have been there before and they do a great job. Holiday Inn is worthy of your business.

We went to the Holiday Inn for a retreat celebration. It was very clean and well decorated. It was a very pleasant evening.

Wonderful polite front desk staff. They offer clean updated rooms, modern bathroom and shower. Bring your own iron, their irons and ironing boards are very old, beat up and leak rusty water on your cloths. New TV’s mind you. Centrally located in the city. Lots of parking in the rear & dining close by.

Hotel room smelt a little dusty, but other than that the room was very clean and nice. Hotel staff at desk could have been a bit more pleasant. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Clean and updated rooms. Larger room then Fairfield inn. Bathroom very very small. Has shower stall with glass doors very nice. Rooms are quiet although near elevator you can hear it go up and down. Restaurant food is good and can't complain about the chefs cooking although the salmon is a small portion, the steak delish. Breakfast is served in a different location and not self serve. There is a menu so it limits you to free juice and an extra plate. 2 waitresses to serve you. Coffee is awful and needs to change. Portions are good on the plate but could use more flavor. The music played is dated to 1960s or later and gets to be tiring. Place is Clean, staff friendly, reception has been welcoming.

It was a very unpleasant experience. We arrived during a snow storm. Late at night. Computers at the hotel weren't working. We left to go book our room on line and returned since the front desk staff were only willing to give us a room at a higher rate then we had requested from the on line rate. Upon returning with our online reservation for a room, we were put in a room far from the front desk knowing we were parked in the handicap parking. The elevator wasn't working once we reached it. Once again we brought our belongings back to the front desk to ask for another room since using the stairs wasn't an option with my husbands condition. We were given another room again at the other end of the hotel, next to a room with noisy guests. The following morning we went for a complimentary breakfast only to hear the serving staff complain about complimentary breakfasts and not making enough tips. This wasn't a pleasant experience for my husband and I. Quite disappointed.

So impressed with this hotel we were up for an event and had driven through night and with our request they let us check in early. Absolutely wonderful pet friendly room with laminate flooring close to exit with two garage cans for poop and truly AWESOME comfortable beds Super friendly staff and only $20 pet fee!

We stayed in one of the designated pet rooms so the rest of the hotel may be better. Our room was incredibly large for a hotel room but not filled with anything in half of it which made it seem like a converted garage or warehouse space. The bedding smelled off as if it was washed and not dried properly. The room was also very hard to heat. In the morning as we were leaving the elevator broke down and wouldn't open on our floor. The hot tub was out of service. On the plus side; the breakfast was very good. Service was very friendly as well as the rest of the hotel staff. The pool was nice and warm. Other rooms in the hotel could very well be much nicer, but this one felt like they had thrown a bit of "hotel room" over top of a cold warehouse space.

Was there for an event. The facilities are nice but the temperature really varied. Otherwisewell organized.

Very clean great customer service. Kids loved the pool. But the coffee in the lounge was a tad $$$$. But over all great time.

Usually I really like the holiday inn, but this one wasn't on par. The bathroom was small, it took forever to find the ice machine because there were no signs, fridge didn't work, no one at the bar at 930 to help me and I had to wait a while to get seated at breakfast as well (wasn't busy, all servers were in the back). Bed and pillows were comfy as usual.

Great value hotel. Cheaper than some other hotels but clean, renovated rooms. Lots of parking! Friendly staff upon arrival. Slightly strange layout of hotel but staff directions were clear. Would be first choice when we go back to Sudbury again.

Nice clean hotel. There is a restaurant in this location that I was unfortunately too late to enjoy but the room was very clean and modern. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area.

I came to Sudbury under unfortunate circumstances… a very close family member had passed away quite close to Christmas and I stayed at the Holiday Inn while I sorted out my loved one's affairs. Every single staff member went above and beyond to ensure my stay in Sudbury was as painless as it could possibly be. On my last night (after clearly seeing the struggles and pain of my last day) the staff prepared a personalized handwritten note from all of the staff with their condolences and had prepared a meat/cheese platter and sandwiches and placed them in my room's fridge (just because they knew I had not had the time to eat anything that day). I have never encountered this level of generosity or humanity in any hotel staff before. The operational staff are truly wonderful. If ever you are passing through Sudbury, do yourself a favor and stay at the Holiday Inn… you won't regret it.

Had a great time. Went for the night but rooms were full. So had a dinner in the bar. Great meal.

Conference room was decent. Clean hotel. Left on hold twice with front desk and forgotten about. Had to call back. Maybe they were busy.

Wonderful staff who were incredibly polite and happy to fix any issues that were found. The hallways are confusing and the first floor's ceiling is weirdly short (around 185cm tall) but the rooms are very large. Stayed in a double-bed room with clean, working AC. Room was very clean. The bathroom is rather small and the shower doesn't have a door on one side so be ready to have water coat your bathroom floor. The room also does not have any central lighting, needing one to go around and flip a fair amount of switches to get a good view of the room. Some TV channels did not work, but otherwise this hotel is a great choice to stay in. Breakfast was added to the room for only $10 extra for 2 people. The Eggs Benedict were delicious as was the coffee. Highly recommend the breakfast which is open for longer hours than most hotels.

I attended a large meeting in one of the conference rooms on the first floor of the hotel. Seating was comfortable enough for a 1.5 hour meeting and sound reached the back of the room with ease. There was some sound bleeding through the walls of the room next door but it was reasonably contained.

Rooms are decent, but walls are paper thin. I can hear the couple's full conversation about nothing as I'm writing this. The hot tub looks like it requires a makeover. There is a pipe coming out of a wall running along the ground and into the corner of the hot tub and a serious HVAC system about 7' above your head. It's impossible to relax in it when it is on; sounds like a turbine engine. I'm here for a coference so glad that it's covered, but I know for future not to use this hotel for any other reason.

Overall experience was okay. Found some jelly beans in room from previous guests, figure room could have been cleaned a little more. The staff was a great help, super friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was a bit more of a disaster, but then overheard that they were short staffed that day and also had several weddings that weekend. I can forgive that since we were taken care of while waiting so long.

We have had brunch and an evening meal and both times it was fabulous. Not large venue so try to book ahead especially for brunch. The dinning area is smartly decorated and has very comfortable seating.

We came as a group of 10 for the Sunday brunch and had a great visit. It was very busy and there was a large line when we arrived, but all the food was very fresh and was of good quality. The eggs benedict were really great to have on a buffet. There were pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, perogies, and much more hot food. The fruit was fresh and ripe, good selection of cured / sliced meats and cheeses. We will certainly return.

Always a fan of Holiday Inn hotels based on their great service. The two gentlemen at the desk tonight were great. Very polite and understanding when I forgot my key. The room itself is very nice and clean as well. Very comfortable bed. I recommend this hotel for sure.

Staff were fantastic and stayed until after the end of the wedding reception to help (1 am). Great food, nice big hall. Somewhat confusing hallways.

Stopped for brunch with friends. One of the only places left in Sudbury that does it. Food was good, might need a little more selection, but does in a pinch.

Staff were friendly and they did have proper hotel sized cribs but bathrooms were small and you could kind of tell they just "put lipstick on a pig". There is abandoned buildings on either side which wasn't very appealing.

Stayed here with my wife and two young kids in the largest room they had. The room layout was a poor renovation done to increase the size. The added on couch area had no AC nor TV and was really hot in the the summer weather. The elevator was very jerky and gave me the impression it was to break any minute. Also a run down motel was beside that was unsafe to walk around due to lots of broken glass etc. And there is very limited areas to take out any fur babies on their property. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. One positive was the staff were polite.

We were travelling across Canada with 3 children and 3 animals so we made sure to make reservations. They had on file that we had animals but whomever booked us put us in regular rooms. So after a very long hot day of travelling we finally get to the hotel and were turned away and had to have our children and animals stuck in the van for much longer in order to find another hotel. Very disappointed, they need to be more careful with bookings. We ended up at a crummy hotel in a terrible neighbourhood which ended up costing us more since we couldn't use our points we had accumulated using Holiday Inn's.

Clean, pet friendly facility. Very personable staff. Waking distance to anything you could need around it. Very good typical Hotel.

We generally stay at Holiday Inn Express or Best Western.
Sometimes we stay at the Holiday Inn (not Express). The beds are the most comfortable at least the North America ones.
Wednesday past we stayed at the Sudbury property for the second or third time.
Only two couples in the dining room between 6:00 and 7:00. Usually that means something. Had a steak but couldn't get mashed potatoes. When I heard that I remembered it had happened there before. The cook didn't have the skill, intelligence or ability to mash up what he had so I enjoyed my steak without potatoes. Some cooks seem to know what is best for you. Guess they don't like big crowds. Guess if I hadn't been tired we would have gone out to Another restaurant.
Other than that the waitress was fine as was the rest of the hotel.

Was a great stay. Comfortable room and king bed. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Used the pool and the hot tub; yet the Jets did not work. Maintenance came by very quickly once notified to fix the problem. Would stay gain if ever back in Sudbury. Oh and breakfast was very good and service was excellent. Thank you.

Clean rooms, wish we had a bathtub instead of a shower cubicle. Restaurant has good food. Staff was friendly. Great rate for what you get.

Definitely one of the nicer Holiday Inns I have stayed at. Pet friendly hotel, staff is welcoming and very professional. Recent renovations brought this location to a modernized look and feel. Will definitely return…

Very nice recent renovations. Very clean and modern room. Wireless was great. Bathroom was small and without a tub, only a standup shower. Pool area lacked a dedicated change room.

We rented a space to work on a project and the staff were wonderfully accommodating. They went above and beyond with their customer service and everyone was very impressed. I would stay in a Holiday in based on our experience just renting a space for the day.

Nicely refinished room, comfortable king size bed and linens. Washroom had a wonderful large mirror with peripheral lighting and wood grain tiles that looked and felt luxurious. The shower unit was easily accessible, but there was no bath if you were looking for a luxury soak.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Sudbury was amazing from start to finish! Check in was a breeze. We were greeted by friendly staff and the owners not only made us feel welcome but like family. We were incredibly impressed by the level of customer service demonstrated by the staff and appreciated how attentive they were to our needs. Everyone was polite, professional, and courteous and we felt very well cared for during our stay. Our room was clean, bright, spacious and fully equipped with toiletries and fresh towels. The facility as a whole was amazing! Great amenities and the décor was modern and elegant. We definitely enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the gym was perfect for those looking to get a workout in during their stay. We highly recommend that guests looking to stay at the hotel include the breakfast as part of their package. The food was delicious and it was a great start to our day. If you are looking for a place to stay in Sudbury, we highly recommend the jewel of a hotel that is the Holiday Inn Sudbury. The quality and care you will experience is exceptional and you will not be disappointed!

The hotel recently had done some renovations and they look great. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very courteous and friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in Sudbury, this hotel will be at the top of my list.

DO NOT PLAN YOUR EVENT HERE! I had my wedding here in November 2015. We paid for the solarium for our ceremony as it has very nice trees and huge windows for a view. Right before I go to walk down the aisle I am told that there is heavy equipment (a dump truck and whatever else) parked right outside the windows which is right in front of where we are are to say 'I do' as the hotel has been under renovations. The Holiday inn knew that I was getting married there for 6 months. There was no excuse why it was parked there. Needless to say I ended up getting married in front of heavy equipment. My wedding pictures just came in and its awful. I am heartbroken over what my pictures look like. Management and catering was very poor. Way to many problems when trying to host my wedding here. Added more stress to all my planning than anything. Definetly do not recommend!

Not impressed with the food and service, we received,,, reservation done a long time ago,,,, person in charge was very accommodating throughout, however 90% person of our group were totally disappointed with the food, orders were getting mixed up, some orders were cold… never did get coffee after requesting at least 3 times… what a shame,,, such a nice place.

Rooms are recently remodeled with a modern flair. Service is fantastic. Only complaints are with the Wi-Fi which is difficult to keep active, especially in the Ramsey wing.

The hotel was fully booked for the night when we arrived, with a broken down truck at the shop, in the middle of the night. The night manager Samantha was OUTSTANDING and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful human. She did not need to assist since her hotel was already full. The next time I am in town I will be staying at Holiday Inn Sudbury. Thank you Samantha!

Very good accommodations. We were in the renovated Tower area, 3rd floor. Clean modern rooms. Bar/restaurant area newly renovated and very nice atmosphere. Pool/hot tub was a pleasant surprise especially after a long drive. Great rate, just over $100 after corporate discount. Friendly staff at reception and bar.

Bar/lobby/restaurant areas renovated as was our room, all very good. Friendly staff, food good, decent steak. Pool ideal after a long drive. Comfortable bed. Nothing to complain about.

My husband and I were attending a conference there. Right from check in it was a bad experience. We got there at 12 pm, we could not check in until 4 pm. We came back and that is when they told us they needed the 3rd party who booked our room. So we finally got into our room at 5 pm. The room was OK. The continental breakfast that was provided for the conference had some sort of bug underneath the muffins! We were in a conference room next to the kitchen, I could not hear the presenter over the laughter and clanging of pots and pans over the kitchen staff. And to top it off, we asked for a later check out, due to the fact we had to bring our children with us, we were told a flat out NO. That they had the room rented for a hockey team and no late check outs would be given to anyone. One of the worst stays of my life.

My nephew got married here on new years. So to make a holiday of it I booked extra day to utilize pool. Got there pool was down. Booked again for tonight called for early check in as I made my reservation I requested it. Guess what time. 4. Again disappointed I was told to go to travel lodge instead that they were helpful. Not impressed again: ( (.

Rooms in 200's are motel style old school. Pretty good for drive up. They've done the best they can updating an obviously old hotel. Not as nice as a new Holiday Inn express but passable.

Old rooms lots of cosmetic fix ups needed, internet is ok, T. V. Inputs are locked out, no complementary breakfast, pool looks nice gym is great. Lighting in room is all over the place. great location close to many grocery stores and fast food place.

First time here. Looks like recently updated Hotel. Decent beds, newer furniture. Newer TV's. Not a bad place. An extra star maybe if there was a TV channel listing in the room. Only here one night, don't have a lot of time to find specific channels. Eventually did though. Hopefully the Cards have won World Series when you read this! :).

A very large, older Holiday Inn that's been recently converted. Maybe too large if you have alot of luggage to carry to your room. There often seems to be little problems at this hotel (elevator, key cards, internet, etc. ) 6/10.

It seems a bit better than it had been. I have been there several times over the last five or so years and it seems a bit cleaner and better run than it had before. I didn't eat in the restaurant, but it was a nice enough place to sit for a drink in the evening. With newer and better hotels in the city this one isn't worth looking at any longer. That said, some of the rooms are better than others. The ones on the south end of the complex with access to the parking lot were better than the ones in the main building I was in several years ago, although I suppose that would make them motel rooms as opposed to hotel.
