This is a message for the hotel and prospective guests: To make a long story short, unless money is invested to upgrade this hotel, it's not going to last. The renovated lobby is lovely but the rest has some issues. Even on its' highest setting, the air conditioner barely worked (we had to sleep without blankets). We couldn't even open the window for relief because the handle was broken. The beds were uncomfortably crooked and the paint was chipping. There are stains on the carpet. The whirlpool was out of order. The location is great though. The owners just need to invest in upgrades. Until then, we won't be back.

Everything was great. Staff were nice and calm, considerate. It was a pleasant stay no problems other than the hot tub not in service! If I would have known before I booked the room I wouldn't have stayed here but other than that everything was good. 4/5

My husband, two children and myself arrived around 9 pm. The room was hot and very damp and had a bad odour. It was not clean. Furthermore when we removed our shoes we discovered the carpet was wet. Below the air conditioner the carpet was saturated. When my husband and I went to the lobby and quietly explained this, we were supplied with towels for the wet carpet and told there were no other rooms available. We slept very poorly and left early in the morning. We were very disappointed. We made reservations in hopes that we could avoid an uncomfortable night.

NEVER EVER staying at this hotel EVER again Just getting in the door the furniture in the lobby is tattered and gross! ! BED BUGS! The hotel did cover the cost of our stay. The pool is DISGUSTING and should not be open to the public. It is so cloudy you can’t see the bottom. I told management I was a lifeguard and they should close it. The scum line has NEVER been scrubbed! They didn’t close the pool. A relative went swimming the next day. I am positive the pool area isn’t inspected hourly. At home I go to a hotel pool often. You should smell like chlorine when you leave. A Hotel pool should be at higher levels because of the small size and volume of people that use them. Hot tub was out of service thank god. I stayed with my family in 5 different rooms and every room had something broken and dirty in them. When we came to breakfast my family, they had already eaten at Perkins and they said eat some where else. Their hash browns where practically RAW and service was very slow. Rooms smell like hockey change rooms! Window so dirty you can’t even see out them. Bed was lumpy and squeaked, pillow top. HAHA! I’ve stayed in a fair amount of hotels and motels this one by far is the worst I’ve ever been in. The only reason it got a 1 star review is how well the manager handled the bed bug situation, and I can’t give a big fat ZERO, but Stuart they don’t pay you and your staff enough to handle the poor up keep and the amount of complaints you must get from this hotel.

Had a decent stay at the Travelodge. The room was great and well kept. But there were no towels available at the pool, which had fairly cold water, and made for a chilly walk back up to our hotel room. There was also a bit of a dispute outside our room, which was not the hotels fault but definitely added to our disappointment, as we did not feel very comfortable staying in the room afterward.

The room was nice and clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly. However the pool was extremely in need of a good clean. The bottom of the pool was filled with chunks of hair and dirt and the sides of the pool were dirty and could easily be scrubbed. The fire extinguisher hasnt been signed off since april either and the first aid kit was not sealed which leads to think no one takes care of the place regularly.

I recently rented two rooms, one for us and the other for my parents. My parents room had a clear yellow ring around the toilet, my mom was disgusted but figured it could have been discoloured due to water sitting for a length of time. When she started to clean it herself she quickly realized it was urine left in the toilet and on the floor. The AC did not work in their room and there was a man's dirty wooly sock left on the room floor. At this point they reported it to front desk who informed them there were no rooms left and apologized. In the morning, upon check out. I informed the woman at cash, she said, 'oh I heard about this, so sorry, I could adjust the rate had you reported this last'. I said 'my mother did'. She said, 'there's nothing that can be done, they posted the charges to the card last night'. I was disappointed and especially considering she could have at the minimum covered the room service charges of 48$. In any event, it'll be our last time at a travelodge. Hotel Motel Holiday Inn for us I guess.

Convenient location, way too pricey for deposit. Great service; even the custodial staff was very helpful. Older hotel, and would definitely recommend to replace the windows and sliding doors.

Stayed for one night, hotel is attached to a diner with easy access. Room was good and the staff were friendly. The lodge also accommodated well for those going to Nordic Skiing championships.

Great service from the staff. The lady working the front desk was bubbly and very kind. The restaraunt attached was great as well. Thank you for a great night.

It was a nice stay. Clean and all but they need to spend a bit on money on final touches to the rooms. Lots of patchwork on things without final paint touch ups.

The staff was nice. The room was awful, old and dirty looking. Also the hallway outside the room reeked like marijuana.

This site does not honour * The reductions of motel room rental sites. Moreover Uncun effort to speak French and does not offer continental lunch with one night. I stayed there only because I was exhausted…

Stayed for two weeks while working at the hospital. Nice clean room and bathroom, comfy bed. Had a mini fridge and microwave. Good location to walk to the hospital but not much else around if you don't have a car. Overall satisfied with my stay.

Awesome care for anyone having to go to the hospital. Free cab there and back from the travelodge… the food is amazing best burgers we ever had… friendly staff.

Great place for the price it was, comfy bed, and spacious. Outdated. Menu at the resturant is wierd, I'm Canadian wanting flavoured tea, cherry coke, etc and the waiter said they were fancy drinks only Americans sold. Could've just said you were out of this type of drink, I felt insulted.

The experience wasn't completely terrible. The man at the desk was extremely rude, and I wish there was a continental breakfast or some sort of discount at the restaurant, but the room was pretty nice and the pool/hot tub was ok. I wouldn't stay here again.

Wow. Looking at the reviews we must have had the ONE terrible room with the most UNCOMFORTABLE beds I've ever slept in. We booked for 2 nights and THANK GOODNESS got the cancellation because we checked out the next morning and booked at another hotel. The bed was a literal ROCK! We woke up with sore backs and I will now be going to my chiropractor to be adjusted because its been 3 nights and my back is KILLING me still. Front desk service was nice so no complaints there. There was also a ton of noise but thats what you get for booking a hotel in Sudbury in the winter… hockey tournaments! Overall, will NEVER EVER think about staying here. Booked with another hotel down the road for 5 bucks more and slept wonderfully.

We stayed there a couple days for a funeral. We had a terrible experience at this hotel. The staff were great but we just finished driving all night and desperately needed some rest but it was impossible to sleep in this hotel. The room was not nice at all, the furniture was worn out, the matresses were shot, the bedding was rough and scratchy, the pillows like rock. And the biggest complaint was the noise. The entire place is wood framed and the walls and floors are hollow so you can hear every movement of the guests around you. Children were running up and down the halls yelling and screaming. Kids above us were jumping on the bed until 1am and several calls to the front desk didn’t help. They kept on being inconsiderate and the parents didn’t do anything to stop the behavior. Also, the toilet in our room was so loud and didn’t flush properly so it ran forever. And you can hear the water running from other guests using their showers the pipes next to my bed were very loud. After driving all night it was impossible to get any rest. If you need peace and quiet, choose another hotel.

Had a nice stay. Our room was clean and the place was quiet. We ordered roomservice and the food was tasty. Went in the pool and hot tub. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Rooms fairly priced. Although again this time the hot tub was on the cool side. Although love the fact that it was Perkins right next door.

We stayed for 3 days while our Grandaughter completed scheduled testing at Northern Ontario Treatment Centre. After exhaustive days she was treated to a beautiful pool and hot tub. Room and beds were great, staff was pleasant and efficient and the on site Perkins Restaurant was a dream — ate all our meals there without having to travel.

The staff was awesome, the lady that checked me in was new and went above and beyond to help me. Rooms are very clean, enjoyed my stay. Pet friendly too!

Good overall. Staff was quite friendly when I've arrived. I'm giving less stars, because washroom had mould in the corners. Everything seem good. Hopefully this short review will motivate them to renovate the washrooms and bathtub caulking at the least.

The hotel itself is confortable. You have the regular amenities and the restaurant downstairs is good. However, the staff is unfriendly, even rude. The room was sort of clean, garbage was not emptied when we got there and of the three days we stayed, the room wasn't cleaned once. The toilet paper is more like sandpaper. The curtains are missing the lighter layer, so everyone can see you from outside, unless your curtains are closed. The shower curtain is too short. It's the little details, it feels like management is trying to cut corners, not supervising work and the atmosphere feels generally unhappy.

The customer service here is great! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Close to Science north and beautiful walking trail. Only downsides here is that there was no breakfast included, and you only get a 10% discount at the attached Perkins restaurant Mon-Fri, and the hotel itself needs some updates. Otherwise a good night stay and affordable prices!

Had to switch rooms 3 times due to the overwhelming smell of cigarettes. Then when my daughter tried to plug in the heater sparks flew and it shorted out. Thank God it didn't electrocute her. We walked by plates on the floor in the hall outside one room for an entire day. Says something about the cleaning. With so many other hotel in Sudbury I can with all certainty say that I won't be staying here again.

Easy access from main road entering city. The attached restaurant was very convenient after a long day's drive with two young kids. Room was clean and adequate for the price. Overall very happy family who all slept well! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because reception service was slow the evening we arrived.

Great rate! Good service. Our room was extremely clean, even under the bed and behind the couch. We loved the suites with French doors dividing the living and sleeping areas. The pool is perfect! Large, very clean, and heated just enough to make it refreshing. We'd definitely stay here again! One note: the attached Perkins Restaurant has delicious, convenient food with friendly service, but was extremely slow (>45 min wait for food to arrive)

Traveled 6 hours for my son's football in Sudbury so the hard beds weren't bad enough to complain about.

It was good, friendly staff, clean rooms, the shower head is a little low. The attached Perkins was very good.

2 night stay for work. Nice room. Little bit street noise.

Friendly staff, clean lobby and halls and linens. Showers and air units very old. Non smoking rooms still have smoke scent.

We have stayed here numerous times and have generally had good stays. We like that this hotel offers suites. However our last stay was not as good. We found old milk in the refrigerator, had a dirty coffee cup by the coffee maker, and the bottom of the tub was slimy-feeling (like it hadn't been scrubbed in a while). Also, the blanket in the hide-a-bed was dirty and had an old banana sticker stuck to it that had been there a while. All of these things point to inattentive cleaning staff. If these things are overlooked, what else has been ignored? Gross! In general the room we recently had was very "tired" and needed some serious deep-cleaning and maintenance… not what one expects for $140 per night. Lastly, don't waste your money at the Perkins… consistently crappy food at a high price.

Had the worst sleep at the travel lodge hotel in Sudbury. The beds were as hard as a rock would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car, the patio door was broken, it looked like someone had broken into the room. When I checked in at the desk I had told them I was there for an appointment, so they said they would give me a medical rate which was $140 a night for two double beds. When I checked the website for rates it said $98.10 for the night with tax $110. The lady in front of me at the desk received that rate, but not me. The pool looked so dirty I didn't even let my daughter go in it. Overall the worst hotel I ever stayed in, I will never go there again.

Stayed there numerous times now for work. Most staff are great, friendly, and helpful (except for one fella. ). Only complaint is heat in rooms can be a bit wonky. Find it either is too warm or too cold.

We had to stay for a week for work. The bed was horrible. My back was killing me all week. And it was so hot in the room. The in room air conditioner didn't work and we were sweating all night. Worst week of sleep I've ever had!

Staff is very nice. The rooms are nice and clean but the beds are very uncomfortable. Perkins is a bit pricey but good. Overall a decent stay. Its are go to hotel for short stays.

Why not my first choice for staying in Sudbury, I cannot say that I had a bad experience at Travelodge. Staff were friendly and experienced. Double bed room was clean and comfortable. Had a good night sleep. Wi-Fi was easy to access and there was no lag viewing YouTube or playing online games. TV was a modern LG set with a variety of channels and available pay to view movies. Perkins restaurant was adequate. Menu was typical American-style family fair (no alcohol served). Ordered a baked potato with my steak medallions dinner which they couldn't give me because they had run out of them. Took fries instead. Service was quick and prices were reasonable. Breakfast was also good and quick. Was served my meal within 5 minutes of my order. This was my experience. Yours may be different.

Worst breakfast experience. Took 50 mins to get our food, when it arrived the order was wrong, some people were missing food, instead of apologizing the waitress tried to say the items we ordered weren't included? The server didn't bring butter or syrup, by the time these items came food was cold. Bathrooms were disgusting they were dirty and stunk. The table next to us was having a bad experience too they complained. We asked the server for our check it never arrived, eventually we just got up and went to the counter to pay with no check bc it never arrived, we should have just walked right out. Manager said the waitress told us when we sat down there was a 50 min delay and we said, no one told us anything, she offered to take 10% off our check, we just paid the full balance we aren't interested in ever going back. Next time we will go to Gloria's Terrible experience and it was pretty pricey.

Wasn't impressed by the staff at the front desk. They did not seem to make the comfort or the experience of their guests a priority at all. In fact, we were extremely surprised to feel like our inquiries or requests were a burden to them. Garbage and dishes were left in the hallways for days without being cleared. Hazardous for families with small children.

This hotel looks decent from the outside, but looks are deceiving. The lobby area and some hallways are in a state of disrepair; staff informed me that a pipe had burst and caused damage, however I found torn wallpaper and unfinished rooms on the top floor, which made me wonder if that was really true. Regardless, this place shows it’s age, with much wear and tear. The room was bare, and the HVAC unit rattled terribly. If you choose to stay here, try to get a room facing west, as the traffic noise from the street was very, very loud on the other side. The internet did not work most of the time I was there. 5/10.

I thought I'd leave an ACTUAL review since all of the people whom have left reviews for this hotel haven't left real ones. This is based on a 5 night stay in a standard Queen size room. Pros: Hot tub + pool room, HDTV in the room, daily housekeeping with fresh sheets, Pool towels at the front desk whenever you want them, 24-hour front desk people, 10am-10pm pool times. Mini-fridge (not bar) microwave, desk, couch (w/pullout couch) dresser and really comfy computer chair in the room. Cons: SLOW Wi-Fi, like REALLY slow. The network was capped to 2Mb/s down and 0.25Mb/s up. The pool is only 1.5M deep, so if you're 6ft tall like me there's no way to jump into it without hurting your ankles. HDTV in the room was running off of the coaxial cable so it wasn't true HD, you need to go to Channel 9 for the TV guide channel, and 2/3 of the channels are missing (No discovery, space, family, or comedy network. Teletoon still works thank god) and the remote wasn't stock so it was extremely confusing to use. Hottub also gets pretty boring after about 10 minutes, they should install a TV in the corner or something.

Nothing is worse than slow service and a big crowd.

Perkins is one of the most stubborn franchises that continue to use TRANS-FAT in all of their cooking! I was so disppointed recently to be told by one waitress that they use becel, but manager brought out container that clearly said transfat which is banned in many cities in US. This kind of fat is well researched to worsen heart disease and banned in many cities like new york and san francisco. They do have good dishes and variety but we will never come back until they change.
