Stayed 2 nights here before going on the Rocky Mountaineer. Had a beautiful suite (which we didn't expect) looking down onto the pool. Lovely sitting area, separate bedroom, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, in-room safe, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, and every conceivable toiletry you could wish for — even wee bottles of mouthwash! Loads & loads of sockets throughout the suite. Breakfast was very, very good. Absolute luxury!

Beautiful views and very big rooms. Great location. On the balcony there were crumbs and grease on the tables and there were only 2 elevators so you had to wait a VERY LONG time to get to your room so it is not perfect. At breakfast the staff are really nice and the omlette is wonderful! Overall it is a really nice hotel with great staff.

Really terrible service at the breakfast buffet. We were a table of 5 (3 adults, a toddler and an infant). They took our drink order before we could sit down. I ended up with a cold (not iced, just cold) cappuccino, I tried to get the waiter's attention on 3 separate occasions as he walked by our table and I am sure he saw me but ignored me on at least 2 occasions. I would have gotten up and chased them down but I was in the corner on the wall so half the table would have needed to get up and it didn't seem worth it so I just drank it. We only got water at the table when the server was removing the water glasses in the middle of the meal and I asked if we could get some water. We were never asked how our meals were or if we needed anything. They gave us the bill mid meal. They added an automatic gratuity (illegal in BC) of 18%. I asked the rational and he said it was for our large group (3 adults, a toddler and an infant. Seriously? ). I asked them to remove it so I could choose my own tip, which they did. The food was fine, but for a $30 a breakfast buffet with terrible service I would never go back.

Nice accommodations, but only having two elevators means constant waiting when leaving or returning to your room. Edit: stayed here for two weeks on a business trip and won't come back. The elevator situation involved upwards of thirty minutes spent waiting for an elevator both leaving and returning to the hotel, as well as stops on every floor going both ways. It added absurd time buffers to any planning, and was clearly hurting house keeping staff's ability to move through the hotel — as the service elevator had been open to guest use to ameliorate the situation. Elevators, like running water, are not supposed to be a factor in choosing a business hotel. But here we are with a hotel with one half the number of hotels it would need to operate during off season. With working schedules impacted, and a price of $500 a night, it just isn't worth the headache to deal with.

I had horrible room it was a balcony over looking a common area with cement pillars locking the city view I was very disappointed and wish I had a view of the city.

Great hotel. Very good service. Clean. Close to a lot for things downtown. Walking distance. Definitely on the expensive side, but otherwise worth it. Pool and sauna/steam room are a fantastic way to unwind and relax after a long day. In house restaurants are also high quality but expenaive, alternatively there are many choices nearby.

It’s a great hotel, but it’s very curious to me why such a large hotel doesn’t have a real dining room or little store. And the entrance is very peculiar. But we had a fine stay. The location is great.

I stay at this hotel frequently, and the elevators have finally finished being upgraded, making the worst part if the hotel much better. The rest of the hotel is great, with larger than usual rooms and a large workout area. The hotel is right on Robson, close to many restaurants and shopping. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the closest Skytrain station. The staff is friendly, and they seem to be happy, with little turnover that I can see in terms of front desk staff.

The hotel is well located on Robson Street. We walked to many places, including the bike rentals near Stanley Park and Gastown area. There is a supermarket a few doors away. Food is everywhere nearby. This is also near the Vancouver library, which is one of the stops for some of the tour pick ups. We got a premier deluxe suite with a king and a queen sofa bed. The room works fine but is pretty compact. When the sofa bed is pulled out, there is limited walking space. Service at check in was fine. Our reservation was for 2 adults and 2 kids. We checked in around 9pm but we had to call for the sofa bed to be pulled out and made up. On the second day, room was not made up by the time we came back in the evening and we had to ask them to do it the following day. Katrina at the concierge was a wealth of knowledge and very helpful. Sheldon at the Bell desk also stood out for going above and beyond his duties to help when the concierge was not available. Overall a good experience. We would stay here again if we visit Vancouver.

I have stayed at this hotel more than any other hotel… I think I have stayed at this hotel total of 140 nights. I am lifetime status — platinum, in this is my favorite Hotel in all the world… Or I should have said it was. I have now stays here for for Memorial Day weekend vacations — I specifically Secrets Hotel out for that reason has an awesome 3rd floor pool that also has a hot tub and has a wonderful View and you're able to get drinks and in between being outside and hiking and having fun cuz it's a great location you can relax and Rewind there… Well this year the hotel decided to randomly do maintenance on the pool and hot tub — thus shutting it down, during one of the busiest American holidays short of Labor Day weekend — talking about unique to America holidays not Christmas or things like that where a lot of people celebrate around the world. The reason I know specifically that this hotel is aware Memorial Day it is because I've been here four times in a row. I have never felt this but the feeling I get is that this is a backlash against America and for America electing Trump despite the fact that it seems almost half of America didn't vote for Trump none-the-less the attitude is that all of America voted for Trump and if these people don't like Trump they're going to take it out on Americans.

Stayed in a suite while here for work for almost two weeks. Nice space with great views. The gym and salt water pool are great too. I also found all the staff really friendly and helpful.

Amazing stay here. As always we receive the best concierge service from friendly and welcoming Westin employees. We stayed in the 'fitness suite' which honestly wasn't fully utilized to it's fullest, but it was a fun idea. Includes a stationary bicycle and a lifefitness treadmill, pretty hefty!

The location was great on Robson which was walking distance to so many places. It was clean and the staff were all friendly. Unfortunately we went during the elevator renovation so we had to use the service elevator. It was sooo slow and awkward to use. Even tho one of the elevators got finished, it was still super slow. I don’t think two elevators can service the hotel. We had to put into account ten extra minutes to get in and out of the hotel.

We were at the Westin for a drink to cap off our date night. The Bartender was professional and made a mean drink. Unlike so many other supposed lounges in town, this one doesn't have music blasting your senses into oblivion, nor is it full of the din of other diners, making it an ideal environment for a more intimate experience. If you're looking for a place to have a well made cocktail and to have a chat to wind down the night, look no further. Only complaint really is where the guitarist for the live music was located. Placed directly beside the bar, almost in the corner, making it a little inaccessible aside from the small area immediately beside him. Aside from that, it's a great find.

Great business travel hotel with all the basics and a friendly staff. The rooms or suites are a really good size and have space to relax or hangout. The rooftop pool is open year round and the fitness centre is decent enough. Conviently located next to major shopping area in the city centre. Many large brand stores, department stores, Pacific Centre Mall. Stadiums are not far away and lots place to grab food.

We’d made the 14.5 hour journey travelling back from a holiday in Thailand when we were told by another hotel that our check-in wasn’t until a day later and were in desperate need of a hotel for one night. Can I tell you, the long travel and unexpected travel re-arrangements were all worth it to stay in this brilliant hotel. From the amazingly polite and friendly hotel staff to the room facilities, everything about this hotel is luxury. The beds are likely the most comfortable I have ever slept on (having just stayed in over 10+ hotels/resorts during a 7 week holiday. ) The bathroom facilities are luxury too and their personal touches (lavender oil on your bedside to help you sleep better) make you feel extremely welcomed. Their gym is also open 24/7 which is a nice addition to anybody settling into jetlag. I want to personally thank the staff for being so courteous and helpful. I wish we could stay longer!

Although we live in the greater Vancouver area, on my birthday we often stay at the Westin and attend a play at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. We have stayed at this Westin several times in the past and have always had a pleasant stay (even when they were renovating) — but this time was extra-ordinary! When we checked in, we joked with Christina at Guest Services that we had tried to park in the space that was numbered the same as my birthday, but it was reserved. We have a tra…dition of taking my picture beside the space number to mark the year! She laughed and said that space is reserved for their manager. My husband showed her the picture we took and we had a good laugh. She also upgraded our room to a suite (we are Starwood). That was a lovely treat! When we returned from the play, there was a beautiful hand made birthday card in the room, a bottle of bubbly water and a small box of chocolates. I thought my husband had arranged it, but it was Christina who had given me the treat! I was very touched! The next morning there was a letter under our door — again saying happy birthday! I didn't bother to read it right away, but after breakfast I did. We were surprised to discover that the hotel wanted us to know that someone had broken into our vehicle. Although the hotel doesn't own the lot, Christina had remembered where we said we'd parked and when she heard about the incident (at about 2am), she immediately realized it was us.

One of the best hotels I have every stayed at. Service was outstanding. Restaurant service was amazing. Room service was great. Extremely clean and convenient location.

Quick getaway from Seattle with the family. Got a good last minute rate and had a wonderful stay. Remodels to the hotel since our visit last year we're a welcome change. Staff was incredibly friendly and even gave us a complimentary drink. Would definitely stay again on our next trip.

Incredible service from the staff here. The rooms are spacious and clean. Facilities are well maintained and there are lots of amenities. It's central to downtown Vancouver and most restaurants and event centres are walking distance. The hotel provides umbrellas for use while staying there. Make sure you try the food while you're there even though the dining options surrounding the hotel are amazing.

The Westin Grand is an excellent hotel nestled in the heart of Vancouver. We were signed in by guest services, they were quite welcoming. I asked for a recommendation for food outside of the hotel. After the concierge recommended the hotel restaurant he then suggested we go down the street. That restaurant made our night great.

This is a great location if you have business downtown or perhaps want to shop downtown. There was construction going on the last time I stayed here which was annoying, especially because the restaurant was closed. On a previous stay the restaurant was quite good. There are some nice views from the rooms. Some of the rooms have very useful amenities like kitchen implements which can allow you to get food at the nearby supermarket and eat in your room.

Stayed here on a rewards stay and they treated us very well. Room was fantastic, with a great view of the library and BC Place. We had breakfast in our room and this was very reasonable. I honestly did not want to leave. The valet parking was also reasonably priced. Regarding the elevators, there are normally 2 however one is under repair. So they added the service elevator to help out. It all worked out just had to head out a few minutes early. Everyone the valet, the front desk and room service were great.

Enjoyed my short stay here I stayed in the hotel for a day and therefore my inputs are initial impression alone. However, the staff knew that we were visiting to celebrate our anniversary and they surprised us with sparkling wine and an amazing dessert. This was a nice touch and much appreciated. Made our day and we left the hotel with a loving memory. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was responsive. It is centrally located on the famous Robson street, short walk away from food and shopping… tons of it. I will recommend this hotel if you are in Vancouver.

Nice hotel. We were earned that one elevator was not working, but it was still annoying waiting for the one main guest elevator or the service elevator that was being used while the other is down. We also got upgraded to a bigger room but on the sixth floor. Great view of the wall of the building next door and the pool of the other building. I've stayed there before and had a better time. Servuce was great! Pool ans hot rub area in great shape. We will be back but when both elevators are running and not on the sixth floor.

After a lousy service at reception (Mark) I thought everything would be wrong in my stay at the hotel, then other people started to Hector me feel at home and it was an excellent experience for the hotel's waiters and managers.

Great hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Towels and sheets very soft and smell nice. Rooms fair sized for area. Pretty good sound proofing compared to other hotels in the area. Normally stay on a corporate rate so I cannot comment on actual value for money.

Great location to visit the city. Excellent service and impeccable rooms. The rooms were recently renovated so else are very nice. The bedroom is rather small for the size of the bed but nothing major.

The room was very nice and spacious. The king size bed was comfy and the staff were quite nice. I would happily stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Westin Grand. Its in the heart of downtown, and there are tons of places to eat close by. Everything is basically walking distance and I recommend saving money by not getting a rental car, since everything is super close! They upgraded our room for a minor fee and the room was awesome, with a little balcony. Two tvs in the room, and room service was great. The location was busy and the hotel front is a little awkward. I would stay here again but will explore other options next time ☺

Place is nice. Rooms were renovated with nice materials. Pool was very handy. Rooms very clean and modern. The elevators are horrible, it can take 10 min for one to arrive, and often it's full. Plan extra time as this slow elevator seems to be a thing about half the time you need it.

We love staying at the grand when we are in Vancouver. Great customer service and always an upgrade with our spg points! The only thing I can say and I have mentioned to the hotel is improving the elevators… awful, so slow and there is only two. Can get quite frustrating at times but if that's the only thing we have to worry about in our lives then I guess we will live!

I think this is a great hotel, super location in Vancouver near hockey and football facilities, great eateries, etc. Super staff BUT… they only have two elevators serving 31 floors. Do the math… full house for 31 floors — 2 elevators and no service elevators for housekeeping and food staff? Rooms are terrific… million dollar views of the city … if you can get up and down.

Wow what can I say. I've stayed here quite a bit as a frequent bidniz traveler and multiple times they've given me complimentary upgrade to a room that is completely the same from others, except that it resides on a higher floor and makes me feel more accomplished as a human being. They keep giving me tiny bottles of body lotion that I don't use. I think it's the staff's way of complimenting me on my fair complexion. I wish they'd just ask me out already. 5 stars.

Center of downtown off Robson street, walking distance to shopping dining, parks. Rooms are modern and well furnished. If you need USB charge ports you are in luck! Almost everything had charging ports, from night stands, to desks, dressers, lamps etc… Just make sure you have your own cable. Main King sized bed room separated with double doors to the TV sitting desk area of each room. Kids loved the fold out sofa bed. Parking is a little pricey since you are in the middle of downtown, but you get unlimited entry/exit. Swimming pool and exercise room is wonderful. Swimming pool is salt water so no awful chlorine. There are changing rooms and a sauna. Surprisingly quiet for a hotel in the middle of downtown. Only complaint may be the elevator. Expect a little wait, with 30 floors and a small elevator. This is our second stay at the hotel and we love it.

This hotel has an excellent location. It is within walking distance of a number of eating establishments of all prices. The harbor is about a 15 minute walk away. Stanley Park is about a 15 minute drive away. The rooms seem somewhat recently redecorated and the hotel restaurant has some tasty food. All the staff are very nice. The only reason I took a star off was because they only have 2 elevators for the entire hotel and we spent 15 minutes waiting for the elevator at one point. This seems to be the general trend. We have a stroller so we couldn't use the stairs.

The Westin Grand is undergoing a renovation making for access and egress problems. But, the renovation does not seem to have someone carefully reviewing the workmanship for quality. For example, the mini-suite we were in was poorly laid out, had plenty of dead space and used features that were too large for the space (The king bed was too big for the room. The shower was too small for the oversized hose for the wand. The vanity was too big for the bathroom. } There was already mold in the shower. There is no reason for a tub in the undersized bathroom. The toilet paper rolls were too close to the toilet. And, the electrical is way too weird. We were there 3 nights and still hadn’t figured out all the electrical switches. The baseboards in the bathroom were cobbled together and were smeared with mastic…others were never cleaned properly after installation. And, the shelving in the living area was not tall enough to properly use the coffee pot. Oh, yes…the bench or nook in the living area will NEVER be used as a seating area. Staff were gracious and helpful. However, when we checked in, the young lady behind the counter said we could go down the stairs in the lobby where she was located…15 feet away…even though it was blocked off with yellow and orange barriors.

Better service than the Fairmont, great location near take town And all ameneties, rooms were clean. Parking garage is a bit tight, but the valet and concierge are very helpful. Overall a good location.

Best sleep at a hotel ever! Rooms are modern and the staff is very friendly. Probably the quietest hotel both from internal noise and outside noise. Hard to believe there were other guests on our floor.

Out stay was short but wonderful. Quiet, clean, and safe hotel located in a bustling area of Vancouver. Walking distance to Granville and Robson streets withe plenty of great places to eat located nearby.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Vancouver. We arrived before check in, so our room wasn't quite ready. Staff offered to hold our luggage until check in, or have us pay for an upgraded room. They offered a similar room with a better view for 10$ extra, or a large suite with a patio for 20$ instead of the regular 70$ due to constriction on the floor above. Elected for the 20$ option and enjoyed beers on the patio with a view of downtown. Staff was kind and courteous, hotel was clean and in a great location.

Clean and quiet hotel with friendly helpful staff. The mini bar and toiletries didn't get restocked daily like other hotels but other than that everything was excellent!

The westin grand had good service and the rooms were very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is great downtown but its kind of loud and theres a few homeless people. I felt like the room layout was a bit strange.

Ate at the restaurant for breakfast and had the seafood benedict. The food tasted good although I wish the portion size was a little larger. Service was reasonable perhaps could have used a large glass for my orange juice so that the waiter wouldn't have to refill it as often.

The rooms were quite spacious for the price, separate bath and shower also a plus, and it's only a few blocks away from the Skytrain. Definitely one of the better hotels in downtown Van.

A few weeks ago we stayed once again at the Westin Grand and it continues to be our favourite hotel in Vancouver. From the moment you drive up to the valet parking, until you enter your room, every single staff member has a smile on their face and welcomes you to their great hotel. Anything you need will be arranged by a staff member from martini glasses in your room when required (thanks Craig! ) to extra teapots in your room (thanks roomservice! ) to loading up your car with your luggage so you can run one more errand (thanks valet parking! ) We really appreciate you being so accommodating and so attentive to make our stay even more pleasurable. We can't wait to come back for another visit. We love your rooms, the view and the location. Thank you all!

We love the hotel and whole experience of staying there. We went for our 50th anniversary for four days. The reception staff were excellent even sent a surprise bottle of wine and chocolate cake with Happy 50th anniversary on it. (thank you for that) Found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The suites were perfect for us, lots of room and very comfy. Location could not have been better for us to venture out and feel safe. Thanks again.

Everything was great except for the fact my computer no longer works after leaving my bags with the hotel to do some sight seeing. I picked up my bags, got to my next hotel and my computer magical doesn't turn on. Still working through this but I can't think of any other way this could happen.

Very nice hotel in the city, but could not accommodate our car with a tall roof. Also did not have a safe way to lock up bikes so we had to take 5 bikes and store them on the balcony.

1. Room thermostat wasn't working… room temp couldn't be controlled. 2. Bathroom faucet was crazy… Couldn't control water temperature. 3. One of two elevators broken… wished we had a room on a lower floor; much waiting for elevator. 4. Staff was pleasant.

The staff here were very friendly, beds were realm good and was close to a lot of good restaurants.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location with an IGA nearly beside it and lots of coffee shops, retail stores, etc. Good walking distance to anything. Rooms are nice for the price (paid around $200). Only issue I had was the elevators. There appear to be only one set of 2 elevators and I was on the 30th floor. Had to wait for the elevator for awhile, especially during peak times — stopped about 10 times each time I was on it. Ask for your room on a low floor to avoid this or give yourself extra time to account for this.

I get a 1 Bedroom suite at this hotel everytime I come to Vancouver, it's centrally located so it's walking distance from everything you can think of doing from eating, shopping, hair salons, bars and nightlife. Granville is about 2 blocks away. Staff are very friendly and professional, valet is speedy never any problems staying here. I call it my home in Vancouver.

Classy but not flashy, and great views of the city on higher floors (20th is great, especially overlooking the bizarre library). Could do with some more sockets in the rooms.

I'd like to start everything with a positive, so here goes for this hotel: Great location. That's about it. Everything else is overpriced, overrated, with respectful but cold, unhelpful front desk staff. The only friendly, helpful staff we encountered were the valet and ground floor bell staff. The hotel nickel and dimed you for everything, including use of computer at the business center. It's not exactly all suite as they proclaimed. Our "Studio Suite" is essentially a rather bare, regular hotel room with microwave, fridge, and utensils thrown into it. A couple of weeks prior to our stay here, we stayed at a new Spring Hill Suite, supposedly a 3-star. It was way, much better than this Westin. Shameful.

We were visiting our son who lives about 4 blocks from this hotel so, the location was perfect for us. The people who work here are fantastic and always willing to help with anything. The rooms were very clean. Theelevators a bit slow but, if your not in a rush, its fine. The beds are unreal! The most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The pool is nice and if you can get a turn in the hot tub, well, thats nice too. The pool gets limited sun so, it can be on the cool side. But refreshing to say the least. If you stay in a suite, there really isn't a "full" kitchen. It has a sink, coffee maker, pre-stocked "fridge" (although they state that guests should not keep things in it and that one should rent a real fridge. Which we didn't, the fridge there worked just fine for our needs. Oh yea, if you choose to use the stocked items in the fridge or outside the fridge, be prepared to pay some over priced prices), a toaster and a microwave. No stove unit. But, we got by just fine with what was offered. All in all, this hotel was worth its price and we recommend it to all, as we would stay again there in the future. Construction note: Tons of it. All over. Their getting prepared for the olympic games coming soon. Nice in quiet in the room though! Not the hotels fault or even an annoyance. Just a warning if you travel or stay anywhere in Vancouver in the very near future.

Lots of amenities and very comfortable suite-like accommodations make a stay in this classy downtown vancouver hotel (shaped like a grand piano) a treat. Service is friendly and staff are helpful. The attractive restaurant is excellent for breakfast.
