Nice hotel — walls are Paper Thin… Rice paper thin. Sports bar/restaurant were fantastic. We stayed here because we got a deal though Groupon. I would not pay full price to stay here nor would I book a room here again when there are multiple other hotels in the area.

In an old historic "upgraded" building. Not very impressive looking… but, I will say the rooms are very quiet and the adjoining restaurant is pretty decent. Staff is Pleasant.

Great location. Nice little rooms. They are small but fine for somewhere to sleep downtown. Thin walls/floors though. You can hear everything in the hallways and rooms above/beside.

Cute little hotel in great location. Staff was very friendly. Old hertiage builidng, so room was a little small but perfect for a one night stay. Would definitely stay here again, and the price was pretty reasonable. Also liquor store, restaurant and cocktail bar attached on the main floor which was definitely a bonus!

For the price, a very good hotel in downtown Vancouver. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. A little noisy at night but it is close to all the action.

Tried the Moda Hotel because the price was good, the pictures looked clean and the location is awesome! That being said once you get in there, the rooms were super small, very old with a coat of paint to "freshen it up" I'm actually lying in the bed right now writing this review and my back feels like I slept on the ground all night, actually the floor might have been softer than the bed actually is. But to take my mind off the horribly hard bed is this super loud noise from the building next door, some sort of air ventilation that is loud and doesn't shut off… at all… all night long. The staff is friendly here but that doesn't help me sleep at all! I really can't say I would ever stay here again unless it was an emergency. The rooms are farely clean and I see no signs of bed bugs (have to check every hotel room for those) I would have to say if your looking for a good night sleep this is probably not where you want to stay, if your planning to go out and party all night and need a cheep place to cleanup in the morning, maybe the booze will help you sleep through the loud sounds and crappy bed!

Good area. Great for walking around downtown Vancouver. Very friendly staff. Wi-Fi with excellent signal.

I stayed four nights and was elated with the comfort and space. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived to early for check-in, so they stored my luggage and had directions for eating places and things to do in the city. I would absolutely stay again. Vancouver is a beautiful place, I'd love to go back, and i'd check here for space when I do.

The hotel is in a great location and is a great value for staying in Downtown. The rooms are pretty minimalistic and have character. Overall I would recommend staying here if you're on a budget.

It is in an excellent location, there is tons to keep you occupied within walking distance. The room was great for the price, it had a mini fridge, microwave, and keurig machine in the room. The room was above average for the price range. The windows are big and beautiful for looking out at the city. Free breakfast in the attached resturant. I Would stay there again if I was getting away without the kids.

Moda hotel has a balance of pros and cons, but all in all we had a great stay. The location is awesome if you need/want to be close to the hustle of downtown Vancouver. Short wallks to live sports and concert venues, ample shopping, and hundreds of food options. There is also a nice grocery store very close by. The rooms at the hotel are very mediocre; slightly on the small side and pretty outdated. It can be a little bit noisy in the halls in the mid morning, but Nothing terrible and not so bad for the deal we got on our stay. If you are looking for a semi affordable place to stay in the city with no frills, and don't mind a quaint room to rest in. This is probably a good choice.

Great service! The wine bar is awesome too. They had a live performer on Wednesday named David Morning and he was excellent. The rooms were not the most comfortable but it was not a big deal. Really close to a lot of great restaurants and bars. Recommend for sure.

The room is very small and not as big as it looks in their pictures. There is a background noise from the outside that extremely annoying. The staff is very nice.

A cute hotel in the centre of Vancouver. The room I had was very small, but for 1 person for 1 night it was just fine. Comfy bed, rain fall shower. The walls and windows are a little thin, so sound travels. Would stay here again.

Staff is so nice! Upgraded our room literally last second no problem just because I wanted a big bath tub to relax in lol. Very accommodating! Second time I've stayed here and I love it!

Decent cheap place to stay in a great location. Would stay again. Was quiet. Rooms were dark enough. Parking across the street was cheap but they need to improve the access. You shouldnt have to check out, go get your truck, find somewhere else to temporarily park it, to return the room key that u have to use for parking.

Fabulous location if you don't mind walking to see the sights. Call beforehand to inquire about parking so you can check in first. Parking is across the street. Centrally located to Gastown, Vancouver Lookout, Granville Island and more! Rooms are very nice and our bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. Loved it! Definitely would stay here again!

This older hotel is in a good location for events, concerts, dining etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful with an early check in. The building is old and the upgraded rooms are a little tired already but there is a lot of charm here. Heating system quit on our second day there, but the temp was ok so we left it off and let them know as we were leaving, I'm sure by other reviews that they have heard the complaint before and it didn't really bother us. The price was fair, but could be a little better in the slower season, or offer perks like discounts on breakfast/dinner. We did visit the wine bar & the restaurant (for breakfast) & both were great.

Staff was excellent, very attentive and respond to your concerns promptly. Rooms were well kept and clean, the room we had was a bit smaller than we had gathered from the pictures but still nice. Only issue is that it is slightly outdated.

We went to have brunch at the Hotel's restaurant, Cibo Trattoria. The service was good enough. The food was really good, very Italian. It has a really nice menu of drinks and the price was similar to other places of the same range.

Bit of a letdown really. Well located but not a first class reno. It's clean enough but not pristine. Wretched view of a cluttered rooftop. Air conditioning was a for standing unit with a house running out the window. Constant him from something running nearby… Plant cooling unit? Desk staff were pleasant enough but… Not sincere seeming. Is that asking too much. Maybe.

I was at UVA wine bar. The service and live music was delightful. The drinks are good. Reasonably priced and good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Nice staff. It is a small boutique hotel so they do not offer room service. The central location makes up for this with easy access to shops and restaurants that are really close. It is easy to explore downtown with public transportation or walking from the hotel.

Air conditioning was out of service without notice. The room felt dirty… There was a pretty substantial stain on the carpet. The bathroom finish was cracked and felt dirty. Also the design — toilet paper is out of reach from toilet. Just overall a really poor experience, for too great a price.

Nice hotel located at Vancouver downtown. Staff very helpful and polite. Always there to help. Nice restaurant and bar. Located 5 minutes walking distance from nearest metro station. Also located 10 minutes walking distance from the cruise terminal. Highly recommended!

Older Hotel. Bathroom and drooping fixtures.

A perfectly reasonable hotel situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Moda Hotel offers a refined hotel experience without the extra cost. I stayed here for one night and had no issues. Street noise was as I would expect from a place in downtown, the room we had was very clean and modern and staff at the desk were very polite. The only issue we encountered was that the Wi-Fi didn't work. The signal just didn't reach our room, one bar or none on 3 different devices (top floor corner room).

Great boutique hotel, with everything right there. Great restaurant off the foyer and a bar next door with an amazing selection of cocktails and wines. The rooms are a little on the small side, but nicely furnished.

Located at a very convenient location, Moda hotel offered a very clean room with friendly working staff. The only complain is that parking for this hotel is 5th floor across from the street. There really is no way for you to know this until you are checked in. Therefore, you have to actually find a street parking first and then check in and park again. Little hustle, thats all. Other than that, a great a hotel!

Hotel did the job in order to provide a place to sleep, but that's about it for a positive review. The floors were quite loud, creeky, and lumpy. The elevator was super slow. The parking was a half block away. But that was not my main bone of contention… Upon checkin I was informed that 3 extra rooms had been booked under my name, which I advised was clearly an error (it was just my wife and I staying there). I was told the extra bookings were made through Expedia, which is who ultimately made the booking of my first room (3rd party Groupon Getaway purchased). The day manager said that since it was within the 24 cancellation period that I would be charged for all 3. After a long debate, he stated he would waive 1 of them but would have to leave the other 2 up to his General Manager the next day. Gee, that sure helped calm the situation and pretty much put a damper on our night with a potential $300+ charge looming over our heads. Fast forward to the next morning where I meet the GM, Alan. While initially polite, it was clear that he had no intention of fully resolving the matter. The "best favor" he was willing to do was waive a 2nd room but still had to charge me for the "no show". Hello? No show? His explanation was that the hotel lost revenue by not selling the rooms.

The rooms are modern and the old building had been beautifully restored. Dining and drinks are available on site and the bustling Granville is a minute's walk away. Friendly service staff are very helpful.

Beautiful old building, the rooms are updated & in good condition. They are small rooms, but the building is over 100 years old so that's to be expected. The location is perfect & the price is low compared to other hotels in this area. I found that it was very quiet duriny stay, especially considering it was the weekend. The sports bar downstairs was great. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
