PARTY HOSTEL - The Canmore Hotel Hostel

Had a great stay at Canmore Hotel Hostel! The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown on the main street, with restaurants, cafés, and shops just steps away. The beds were comfortable, and the privacy curtains on each bunk made a huge difference. The bathrooms, rooms, and kitchen were always clean and well maintained. The bar downstairs with live music added a fun atmosphere, and the managers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Great value, great location, and a fantastic place to stay in Canmore. I would definitely stay here again!

If you’re looking for an affordable place in Canmore, this hostel is a great choice. The location is hard to beat, with everything you need just a short walk away. I especially appreciated the privacy curtains on the bunks, which made the dorms feel much more comfortable. The facilities were clean, the staff were friendly, and the overall experience was excellent. I would definitely come back.

Me and my partner stopped in here for ONE NIGHT as a break from our long roadtrip. Upon entry things seemed normal.
We settled into bed and got cozy. First issue: There is a bar directly below this location. Yes, although it is disclaimed in advertising, it is not advertised that there will be live karaoke until 2 in the morning. This karaoke is NOT muffled at all, every rendition of Creep by Radiohead was heard loud and clear. Do I need to mention that this was happening on a week night?
Finally the kicker that guaranteed we never return to this establishment was when, overnight as me and my partner slept, the minifridge in the queen room leaked all over our food and the electronics we had set on the floor by our bed (there is NO counter space in these rooms, it was truly the only option).
Me and my partner are understanding people, and were aware that this was likely an issue the owners couldn’t have expected/controlled. So we attempted to contact their owner/a member of staff so we could sort out the issue. To no success though because no staff could be found on the property, nor could they be accessed via the phone number provided in the lobby.

Fantastic hostel right in the center of canmore. All staff are very friendly and eager to help, shout-out to Sam and Nez (the pool shark)! Self check-in/out makes the process a breeze. Clean toilet/shower facilities and a fully equipped kitchen.
I stayed in the 8 person dorm and was happy with a clean bed and towel. The bunks all have curtains for a nice feeling of privacy.
The bar down below offers pool, nice drinks and live music. This can be a noisy place so expect to be hearing music until around midnight! But the provided earplugs ensured this was no issue to me.
There is also a marijuana dispensery attached round the back of the premises which is a great little convenience! Plus a grocery store right across the road. Excited to stay here again in future!

I had an amazing stay at this hostel and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations or tips. Its a very social, perfect for meeting other travelers and still getting a good night’s sleep.
The rooms and common areas were spotless, well-organized, and clearly well cared for. The beds were comfortable, you need to bring your own lock for the lockers, and the overall vibe felt safe and relaxed. The shared kitchen is in great shape with all utilities. I especially loved the common spaces, which made it easy to hang out, work, or just chill after a day of exploring.
The location was ideal — close to everything I needed, with great access to public transport, food spots, and local attractions. You can really tell this place is run by people who care about travelers and the experience they provide.
I’d 100% stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and memorable hostel stay!

The staff was absolutely fantastic, very personable and extremely helpful. The location is perfect as well great walking distance from everything in Canmore. It was my first stay in Canmore they gave great tips on where to go and what to see. Will definitely be staying here in the dorms again when I come back to visit even though I didn’t take many photos.

Very nice place. Staff are awesome. Very kind and understanding. Great location, rooms are clean, peaceful vibe. Recommend to anyone on a lower budget. Easy access to buses and and other amenities. Owner is good guy and cares about people and is understanding. Cheers!

Not my 1st time here & definitely wont be my last! Friendly staff who's is punctual and cares about their guests! We got a queen room with shared bathrooms, and after traveling and being in Calgary for a month. I felt I could actually relax here and not be worried about literally anything! They bed was WAYY to comfortable! And after not sleeping too much the past few days/weeks, They even let us have a late checkout because of how exhausted we were! Definitely appreciated! You guys rock, keep it up! 😁❤️ Thanks again!

Stayed in the Queen room with shared bathrooms for 2 nights. Staff was punctual in welcoming my arrival. Also gave me a quick tour of the place. Common areas were kept clean and organized by all. Room was spacious and cozy, with a mini-fridge and locker for extra storage. Shared bathrooms was also clean and moderate in size. Parking available but very, very limited, especially Handicap stalls.

Our experience at Canmore Hotel Hostel was truly special! Located right in the heart of town, it’s the perfect base to explore Canmore — with most shops, cafes, trails, and scenic spots just a short walk away.

Downstairs, there’s a lively tavern/bar that serves tasty food and budget-friendly drinks. We later found out that hostel guests get a 10% discount — a little heads-up on that would’ve been great (we could’ve saved a few bucks! ), but no complaints because the value for money overall was still spot-on.
The dorm rooms were super clean and well-maintained, and the privacy curtains on each bed were a game-changer. That little detail made a big difference — added comfort, peace, and a touch of coziness.
All in all, 10/10 — highly recommended for backpackers, solo travelers, or anyone looking for a great, friendly stay in the beautiful town of Canmore! 🌟💚
