Very nice rooms and staff. Super comfy beds/bedding. My favorite things here are they offer nice shower products in refillable containers attached to the shower. No wasteful plastic. They also provide a large glass bottle in the room and a filtered water tap (still or sparkling) water in the hallway area where the ice machine is and at no additional cost. No vending machine you have to have crisp bills or change for and NO plastic bottles to waste. Bravo 👏🏻 Marriott!

Great, clean and up to date!

The restaurant staff are superb. Wonderfully warm and friendly. All the usual measures are in place to deal with current times but they’re handled so as to blend away. Looking forward to a return with “open faces”.

I paid the hotel $30 per night for valet service. I tipped and paid my bill. When I got home, I found that I got a parking ticket. This occurred while under the care of the valet. The hotel promised to take care of the ticket. This did not occur. Now the hotel will not even respond to me. Do not stay at Marriott Downtown Calgary. Never use their valet service!

We recently hosted our wedding over the weekend at the Marriott and had an incredible experience! All the planning up until our wedding day was organized well by Gabriella and the rest of the team at the Marriott. The Head Chef did a great job creating our wedding menu, all of our guest had great things to say about their meal. Overall, our day could have not gone better. Highly recommend the Marriott, especially if you have lots of out of town guests, they do a great job of taking care of everyone. Lack of parking at the hotel.

Stayed there 3 weeks ago. There was a pill in the corner of the room and a hair in the shower. When checking out they charged my card another deposit instead of refunding it back. I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for a cheque to be mailed out. Manager Alley was very helpful, but I have been out over $500 and there is no urgency to get this money back to me. When we first checked in the lady in the front was rude, and we dealt with another rude staff member. I will not stay or recommended this hotel.

Great place clean I enjoyed my stay.

I had to cancel due to covid-19. They would not consider a credit or reward night on my account. Not cool. Sandman hotels gave credit on non refundable reservations. Customers don’t forget… previous customer.

It is almost 2020. How can you still have horrible internet? I am in hotels every night. This is the worst Internet speed yet. The Internet speed in Mexico and Barbados is better than the speed in a hotel in Downtown Calgary.

LOVED out stay! We are very picky when. It comes to hotels! Full size Starbucks, and a milestones right in the hotel we didn’t check the bar and restaurant the hotel offers but everything was new modern, and amazing!
The walk in showers in the bathroom were a plus! Very clean rooms incredibly comfy bed and pillows! Will stay here again!

This hotel truly goes above and beyond to get to know their guests. I mentioned in my last visit that I love their toiletries and upon my next visit housekeeping had a lovely goodie bag of toiletries for me to keep. The rooms are clean, beds and pillows are comfortable, free Wi-Fi. Walking distance to everything down town. Restaurants galore nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Well located downtown. The restaurant was being renovated when I was there but there are several good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Rooms were decent.

I always enjoy my stay at the Marriott. The rooms are pretty and the service is excellent. Anytime something has gone wrong they try very hard to make up for it, which makes me feel confident staying here.

Great comfortable stay, they were able to adjust our room to get a second bed on late notice. Very clean. Lounge had good breakfast. Would stay again.

Make the most of your stay by staying in Marriott. Great friendly staff with good customer service skills and they made my stay amazing by giving me highest floor as I requested even in busiest time. I had best views and I could stay very close to Calgary Tower. Most of the downtown fun was located close to the hotel at the walking distance. Thus, it was a perfect spot for me. I will stay there again!

Was a very nice hotel, staff was wonderful. Room was great. Expected a typical room, just a bed and bathroom but we got a suite. It was a very pleasant surprise. Rates were great. Breakfast was great. Definitely going back and will recommend this hotel to anyone going to Calgary.

Amazing hotel! I try to book it as much as I can when in Calgary! Food is great, and it’s close to so many other great restaurants if you don’t want to dine at the hotel! The ladies at front desk are always incredibly friendly and helpful! The only thing I’ll say is that I’ve never been upgraded as a Platinum Elite member there. They told me they did once, but the room was actually smaller than usual and I don’t remember it being a better view. Regardless the service is great!

Knew what I liked and needed before I did! Staff were models of exceptional customer service and knew me by name. Room was clean, comfortable and bright. Great Wi-Fi all over. Meeting rooms are very nice, the food, fantastic. Location couldn't be better, right at the base of the tower, steps away from wonderful shops and restaurants. Very happy to have visited. Would recommend.

Great venue for our conference. Meeting room was a little warm but in all fairness it was the hottest day of the year so far. Service and hospitality was top-notch!

Haven't been there in a few years but the updates to the lobby are phenomenal. Staff is from friendly and parking is pretty easy to find. Right across from the Calagry Tower and close to Stephen Ave, there is plenty of things to see, do and eat near here. Right at the heart of downtown, a great place to stay.

Hotel is located at a very central location right across the street from Calagry Tower and a block from Stephen Ave. My room was a 1 king bed room on the 21st concierge floor, with access to the M Club lounge included. Room was large, clean, functional, and looks recently renovated. The only drawback is that I can hear some noises from neighbouring rooms, especially the noise created by the window blinds when they were drawn or lowered (the metal chain is quite loud). Service is great and staff friendly. M Club is stocked with snacks and drinks with good selection of food during breakfast and cocktail hours. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Attended a wedding at Calgary Marriott Downtown. Beautiful location and venue. The only downside was that there was no on-site parking besides the valet and it which is quite expensive… There is however a parking lot for 1/4 of the price one block away! Well worth the one block walk!

Large renovated rooms with modern design. Responsive HVAC systems keep the room comfortable. No desk though, just an adjustable table that can be used with the couch or bedside. Excellent restaurant/bar in the lobby as well with a huge whiskey selection.

Our visit was excellent! All the employees were very happy to assist us. The location is incomparable, it is very close to several amazing restaurants and cafes, and on the same street as the Calgary tour. I'm excited for my next visit to them!

I really enjoyed my stay! The rooms are clean, big, beautiful, comfortable. Fridge on the room and the spot is amazing. No complaint to do.

I went to Calgary for business and stayed at Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel for 3 nights. The location is great, restaurants and the mall is within the blocks. Every staff that I had encountered were pleasant and professional. The front desk left me a msg in case I needed anything because I didn't ask for room cleaning daily. The room was spacious and clean with updated bathroom. I am unfortunately difficult to sleep in new environment. So when the ac/heater kicked in, the loud noise did not help either. One thing I would suggest to the hotel is to let the clients know about the refundable "incidental" charges during check out.

A lovely hotel in the Downtown area. I stayed in a King Executive room on the top floor, but sadly the views aren't anything special — even at the top. The rooms were well furnished although they felt a little dated and worn. The executive lounge (M Club) was spacious with the standard range of snacks, canapes and (alcoholic) beverages. The lobby restaurant offers breakfast (additional cost), lunch and dinner. They also have a formidable range of Whiskeys available for a reasonable price.

Lovely hotel with nice clean rooms, very good bar with signature cocktails and tasty appetizers. Pool and hot tub are clean and the gym has plenty of usable equipment. My one complaint is that the treadmill room is separate from the main gym and has no air conditioning. Holy moly it's hot in there. Otherwise, I'd love to stay here every time I visit Calgary. Starbucks in the lobby too. Big plus.

The Sundance Kid (Harry Alonzo Longabaugh) once owned a bar in what is now the Calgary Marriott Downtown—across from the Calgary Tower. There’s a beer on tap named for him, as well as kid (of course) cocktails. The bartender and manager were kind to explain and show me the menu featuring a photo of the Sundance Kid. For me and my son, it was a quick visit. I also like the artistic wall behind the hotel check-in desk.

Beautiful property. Slow service. There was a little line when I came in. Took excessively long. I forgot a belonging in the room and when I came back for it I waited overly long in the line and then an extra half hour to get my belonging.

Such a great experience! Where to begin… The rooms a beautifully renovated and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is really well situated, close to many bars, restaurants, shopping malls, and more. All the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. I had a great night at their restaurant, ONE18 EMPIRE. The food there was a little pricey, the menu is a little small, but it was delicious and worth every penny! We received exceptional service from the waiters and manager who took the time to come around and make sure everyone was satisfied. Arnav at front desk was absolutely amazing, extremely helpful, and kind. He went above and beyond for me and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. At the Gold/Platinum lounge, Vickie, the bartender, was wonderful! They had no ginger tea on the shelf and told me that she made the best homemade ginger tea around! And she went ahead and made me the best ginger lemon honey tea I’ve tasted! She also ran down and got me some cough drops as my voice was practically all gone. Honestly, out of all hotels I’ve stayed at, I have to say this one has been the best experience. When every single person is wonderfully nice to you, it makes your stay unbeatable.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for an escape away. Truly did it feel like we were taken away to a fantasy land. The service was impeccably detailed and quick. A smile was on the face of everyone which suggested they enjoyed working here as much as we enjoyed staying. The devil was in the details so to speak with this hotel. Our unexpressed wishes were taken care of before we even knew we had them! Without asking they provided a microwave to our room within 2 minutes of our call. Very professional. Overall we felt like we were the most important guests in the hotel although I have a sneaking suspicion that the other guests did as well. Thank you for the lovely weekend.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great — but the room was absolutely awful. Our room, on the 15th floor, was so loud and the bed was so uncomfortable that neither my husband or I could sleep at all. The sheets didn't fit the mattress and kept pulling up, the mattress was hard and lumpy and the bedding felt low quality. Between the constant low droning noise and periodic whiz-bang-pop noises in the room, we barely slept all night. I also didn't care for the parking situation. The only parking option they offer is a $40/night (+tip) valet service. Otherwise, you're left trying to find a city lot, blocks away. So while the staff are nice and the location is good, we won't return and recommend one of the other downtown options.

We regularly DJ events or supply lighting production at the downtown Marriott, especially during wedding and Christmas season. It's a great venue with well appointment ballrooms large and small, the staff are great to work with. You can really tell that the Marriott upholds standards. Setup time is increased here as it does take longer to move through their corridors, we have to get escorted by staff or obtain a key. Photos depict a recent fun-filled holiday office party held on the Marriott's second floor, the 11 foot bear is inflated with a battery fan with a person inside.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Hotel downtown Calgary. It was such a nice hotel. Very modern and clean. The staff was excellent and they took great care of us. That is until we left. Upon returning home I realized I left my jacket in the closet of the room. I immediately called and they told me minutes later that they found my jacket and with a credit card number and my address they would ship it to me. Fast forward 2 months later and I’m still without my jacket. Every time I call the hotel I just get passed along like a sick game of hot potato. Once I did reach someone I still got the run around with them telling me that they found another coat but they assured me that it wasn’t mine. At this point in time I’m starting to realize that I’m never going to see my coat. Although that feeling isn’t a good one knowing that I got such a run around by the hotel chain I try and stay with on my travels has me dreading my next vacation.

Comfortable beds, modern and updated room. Don’t judge this hotel by its exterior. The renovations are quite nice. Good customer service. Room was very clean. Even for a room right across the elevators, it was still relatively quiet.

Had late dinner here from a bus trip. The staff was professional and friendly. The food was great and the experience was good. I find the place cozy and relaxing. Great for having a drink while waiting.

In full downtown is a hotel centrally located and welcoming.

The Marriot is located in a very central and good location. Right next to Stephen Ave, there are many shops and restaurants/pubs to enjoy. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and assisted with our inquiries promptly and efficiently. There is a Starbucks coffee in the lobby which is always nice to have.

A very nice hotel located right across the Calgary Tower in the centre of downtown. It would have been better if free Wi-Fi were included, but it was an excellent stay overall. Would dedinitely stay again if I revisit Calgary.

This hotel had a very posh lobby. They were near a row of restaurants. There is a nice fireplace that gave good heat and warmth. The staff was excellent too. Always ready to help with a smile. Their coffee shop as well as bar had good offerings. In the end, it was about location, modernity and service. Highly recommended.

I only went for some conference workshops. They had some trouble with the WI-FI. The conference rooms were nice and the area around the rooms was well decorated with interesting art. The ambient music selection was good too. Felt like a good place.

Downtown location, awesome views, the staff are excellent. Making sure you get everything you need. Stayed at the Marriott many times and would again.

Was pleasantly surprised that the hotel has the ability to watch Netflix and TED talks! Great location right in the heart of downtown. Getting transportation, food, drinks, etc has been a breeze.

When we first arrived, the only thing we didn't like was you have to have valet parking. You have to call 20-30 minutes before you need your car, plus it feels like you don't have the convenience of forgetting anything you need in it. By the end it was a treat to not have to park your car in an underground parkade and find an exit.

Friendly helpful staff. Good location. Nice rooms with very comfortable beds. Generally quiet for a good night's sleep.

For a hotel downtown it was not horrendously priced (at least split 4 ways). Best part was that one of the cleaning ladies remade the makeshift bed I made out of the couch — — fresh sheets and all. They deserve a raise.

Hotel is clean and the staff is friendly & professional. My only complaint is there was an issue with my payment. I was under the impression I had prepaid for the room months ago when I booked and discovered I didn't then had to pay for the whole thing with a debit card instead which there are more fees associated with. But it was either pay that way or be stranded in a foreign country with no place to stay. The hotel itself is really nice though.

When we arrived for the weekend, we were greeted by a friendly bellhop who helped us with parking and the luggage. Upon entering the cozy lobby, you'll catch a whiff of Marriott's signature scents. I don't know what it is but it's almost floral and immediately relaxes you. The staff went above and beyond here. Front desk informed me that we've been upgraded to a room with an awesome view of the Calgary Tower. In addition, she signed me up for their loyalty program (free) which gave me complimentary access to Wi-Fi. As their welcome" to the program, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolates the next day. The room was clean and spacious as was the case for the rest of the hotel. The hotel itself was located in the core of downtown, walking distance to shopping and bars. I definitely would stay here again and Marriott in general when I travel.

Newly renovated, very clean rooms and awesome staff! One18 Empire restaurant is superb! Awesome whiskey bar and amazing food. Try the smoked salmon for breakfast, it's delicious. The staff at One18 Empire go above and beyond!

Rooms are super nice, we weren't able to get the room we wanted due to demand but that's not the hotel's fault. We came back to the room a few hours after leaving and our room was very tidy. Everyone has been super friendly.

Calgary Marriott downtown is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The service is excellent and the staff are so helpful and nice. They all remember our son by name no matter the time lapse between stays and make us always feel at home.

Customer service was very professional at check-in. We were offered a $60 / day extra for access to the M — Club for breakfast, snacks anytime, Wi-Fi in the room, etc. We took it because we wanted breakfast in hotel and Wi-Fi. But it's not worth it, IMO. In addition, parking at the hotel is vallet only, $40 flat rate per day and need to provide 30 min notice when you want your vehicle, somewhat ridiculous as a vallet service. So when you book, you end up with $100 per day extra for things normally included in most other hotels we have stayed at in the states.

The valet service ran out of gas and got stranded a couple blocks from the hotel. They came and got me and went to get me gas. They took a cab to get it. They didn't charge me for the gas either. We had to stay 5 nights cause of the event in the telus convention center. I had a great experience here. They treat you like they actually care. Great hotel if you care about service more than prices. Not cheap to stay down town Calgary.

Kale and Faro salad tasted really good but was a very small portion. Chipotle tomato soup was also small, and I just didn't care for the smoked taste but that's just me. Surroundings are nice although it felt like I was sitting at the kitchen table in the middle of the restaurant and we had to sit on stools next to a sink. A bit overpriced for the portion sizes. We went for the Input conference special lunch we'd been promised but we're told they'd decided to discontinue it.

I was quoted $169/night over the phone… And was told at the desk I would be charged $199/night. Parking and valet service is very friendly and efficient. $40/day extra charge for that. Room rates don't include breakfast of any kind. They have a lounge that serves a buffet breakfast that costs $60/day to get access to. You do get access 24/7… But after breakfast and dinner they lock up most of the food and only leave out apples, granola bars, and yogurts, candy etc. Internet is NOT free. I had to pay $8/day for it. Ordered a single ceasar in the lounge. It was $10 before gratuity. I do not recommend ordering room service. $5 for a small orange juice, they charged extra to have toast with my son's 2 eggs that were $22. They also slap you with 18.5% gratuity and a $3.50 delivery charge. (normal I guess for room service) The food was on time, but the toast and eggs and bacon were cold. Final bill for one breakfast for two adults and a 5 yr old…. $80 Pool/Fitness area was good. Open till 11pm. I have visited many hotels but nothing as bad as this one. It had terrible room service, and I´m pretty sure the cleaning lady stole some of my money from my wallet. I filed a claim but they said she didn´t work in that area, and refused to check the cameras.

Loved the lobby and whiskey bar. The lobby was really inviting and the fireplace was beautiful. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and good to work with.

The rooms were clean and modern. The staff went up and beyond to accommodate us from grabbing things we forgot in valet parking, to surprising the Bachelorette with sweet treats and helping us with any requests we had. Thank you for the great stay! Your team is fantastic and great customer service!

The king bed room was modern and well decorated. Staff members were polite, helpfully and courteous. Pool and hot tub were well maintained, longer and later pool hours would have been nice.

Stayed on the 8th floor. Nice, good size, clean and a nice view. Had a few problems. The beads that lift and lower the main curtain broke. Washroom was leaking urine from the floor above. Our Wi-Fi fees were removed at check out because of that. There is sparkling water in the fridge but it's $3.50. Great friendly staff. Amazing location for wandering around town.

Good location for downtown use but parking could be an issue. Parking costs extra but the valet service was easy and friendly. The rooms were clean and up todate and provided everything you need. The service was good, but not over the top. Hotel was clean and nice looking. The pool area was basic and the gym was good. One negative thing was that Wi-Fi was an extra cost when every other hotel we've stayed in has had complementary Wi-Fi.

Very nice large room with nice sitting area, great bathroom, fantastic location. Very modern decor and has all the amenities but you have to pay extra for some. If you don't use valet parking it is a walk from parka de but weekend rate is very reasonable for downtown Calgary. An enjoyable experience.

It's sad that company's like this allow 3rd parties to contact the general public on their behalf. The phone calls are ridiculous and the employee on the other end of the phone clearly does not care about your business. I'm surprised that someone would let their company be represented so poorly. I know that I won't be using their services in the future because of their lack of compassion.

Families STAY AWAY! If it was possible to give this hotel 0 stars I would! I booked a room that sleeps four for a family weekend away. We got to the hotel around 8pm. When we checked in we were told we had a king bed and a daybed. When we got upstairs and saw the room we had a king bed and a loveseat that they put blankets on for us. We went straight back downstairs and waited to speak to someone. While we were waiting a man in a suit approached us and asked if he could help. We explained the situation that there were four of us and only had a room that could accommodate three. He explained to us that 'just because it says it sleeps four doesn't necessarily mean that it does'. We asked to speak to the manager because the man speaking to us was quite rude and didn't really seem to care about our situation. He then proceeded to tell us he was the manager. His name was Sean and he was arrogant and couldn't care less about his guests. We promptly checked out and stayed across the street in the Le Germain where we had a wonderful stay, and all four of us could sleep in beds! Plus, unlike the Marriott, has free Wi-Fi and breakfast was included in the room rate. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

I stayed here for one night and literally when I first walked into the bathroom and flipped the toilet seat there was a giant log floating in the toilet water… neadless to say I wasn't impressed… but I flushed it down anyways.

I've never actually been disappointed enough to write any sort of online review before, but here it is. TL:DR: Not impressed. First world problems. Booked two rooms two months in advance, was informed of renovations. They assured me I had two rooms with two beds each. A month before arriving I received an email saying some 'requests may not be guaranteed', so I called them to ask and was assured I had two rooms with two beds. A week before arriving I received emails telling me my two beds turned into a king bed and a sofa bed so I called them to ask about it. I spoke with a manager who informed me the renovations were taking longer than expected (construction delays? who knew?! ). I asked if there was going to be a price adjustment, he said no, I asked how they planned to rectify this inconvenience, if they had any rooms at all with two beds, to which I was again told no. I said despite being reassured I had two rooms with two beds the answer was tough luck, enjoy your sofa bed? The part that bothers me most came next, after asking how he planned to compensate for the unacceptable inconvenience he mentioned they did have rooms reserved at the Ramada downtown, if I wanted to stay there instead. Why did I have to get to the verge of yelling before being offered an alternative? Why wasn't that option made available from the beginning? So being unfamiliar with the Ramada I asked if the rooms were comparable to the Marriot, he replied no they were not.

How about these people stop calling me in class! I have never used your hotel! Im tired of being called by a stupid automated machine! STOP. Calling. Me. Because of this I will never use your stupid hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past. Recently it has taken a turn for the worse. During my most recent stay, the hotel was under renovation, which I understand happens, but I also would have expected this to be time when they go over and beyond to make my stay better. The rooms have thin walls so the noise is noticeable. They have started putting 'tip envelopes' in the room, obliging you to tip the maids. I usually tip, but because I like to, not because the hotel asks me to. I pay enough for the room; it's marriott's responsibility to adequately pay their workers. And finding hair in the bathtub doesn't cut it for tipping in my books. I went to the restaurant for breakfast where I was directed to find my own seat and after about 5 minutes of waiting for a server, was finally told that everything is now self-serve. I left and went next door to Thomsons at the Hyatt where I was shown to my table, offered a menu or my option of the buffet and even a to-go cup for my coffee when I was leaving. The breakfast was cheaper than at Traders too. I canceled my next stay at the Marriott downtown Calgary and will be staying at the Hyatt from now on.

Amazing hotel, awesome customer service. The hotel rooms there are very nice. I was disappointed because there was no Wi-Fi in them. If you wanted Wi-Fi, you had to cram into the lobby and pay. I didn't like that at all. Whenever I go to a hotel, I like free Wi-Fi. Very disappointed because of that. Overall, I like it and I would highly recommend this to anyone who lives in Calgary, Alberta.

Our daughters sandals were taken from our one hotel room (we had two rooms). The hotel pretty much said too bad for you. We have a policy and our maids are not thieves. Sadly. This one maid is a thief. Had to replace brand new $65 Keen sandals. Beware of leaving ANYTHING in your hotel room. Valuable or not.

While it might not look like much from the exterior or the lobby, the rooms are very up-to-date and comfortable. It's location is ideal, directly across the street from the Calgary Tower. And the bus that comes directly from the airport (#300). It's within staggering distance of some of the most pleasant restaurants and bars. Recommended.
