This is our second stay here now, and yet again is has been fantastic. The location provides an endless supply of venues with wonderful food and entertainment. The hotel itself is modern and inviting, our room "The Prestige" will meet the highest of standards for anyone. Once again we are completely satisfied. If you are looking for a place to stay for business or even a romantic getaway. You have to try Le Germain.

My new spot in Calgary! The architecture and interior design is beautiful! The staff are helpful and courteous, the rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, and the location is perfect — steps from Stephen Ave, The Bow, CORE Shopping Centre, and a variety of excellent restaurants!

The beds are awesome, the food superb and Valet Service took extra special care of our 37 GMC. Love this place!

No A/C in the hallways. The elevator was so slow. Some staff were accommodating, others not! Rude and snide with their responses! Will stay at the Fairmont across the street next time!

Although I would love to give this hotel more than one star, my recent experience at "one of the best hotels in Calgary", was both disappointing, and confusing.
The purpose of my trip was to surprise my wife with a birthday getaway. After reading the reviews on a number of hotels, I liked the ratings and the comments people left… regarding their stay here. We checked into the hotel around 8pm Saturday night. Despite there being a valet, I asked where there was parking as the horror stories about these services leave me feeling uneasy. The front desk staff said that there was public parking for $10.00/hour, so the $30 valet seemed like a great deal. We dropped off our car, went to our room — where we stayed until we checked out the following morning. Our car was brought to the front for us, just as valets do, but when we got in, there was a horrendous smell. Sitting on the back seat was a box of take out from their restaurant. We didn't eat at their restaurant and we certainly did not order take out for our car. The box was full of smoked meat, bacon, and I am not sure what else as we were immediately enraged and went back inside. We confusingly showed the hotel staff what we found in our car. To be fair, the staff seemed just as confused as we were.

Firstly let me say that the staff were great, friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel has a good location for seeing downtown Calgary. On first appearances the hotel is top notch however the details do not match that conclusion. We had torn sheets twice and a damaged chair, these however were rectified quickly. Small details in the finishing of the room were not up to scratch, for example cupboard and door closures. The way the blinds worked was clunky at best and you needed to be 6 feet plus to retrieve the string if you had closed them. As other people have commented there was no plug (water stopper) in the bathroom sink. Although giving a lovely stylish design it is impossible to fill the sink and wash. It is also very wasteful of water and doesn’t sit well with the please save energy and water notices in the room. The bed was very comfortable and so were the bed linens. The room was rather dark despite many lighting options. Our other comment would be the general heat in the hotel, the public spaces were all way too hot and it was a constant game to get the room temperature to a reasonable level. All these issues were just niggles but at this price point they should not be there.

It's astounding that after spending a substantial amount of money weeks at a time in your hotel, our loyalty was repaid by unwarranted accusations, undignified treatment from upper management, and a complete lack of accountability and response from any members of the executives. Surely, our young family does not fit the criminal profile deserving of this mistreatment, especially having the police called on us in our room in front of our 2 year old daughter to kick us out and to cut our stay short. Why haven't we heard back from anyone on the executive team to our last email correspondence a week ago who can stand by the actions and decisions taken by their upper management team. No respect or common courtesy was given and not even an explanation to support the decisions taken by unprofessional upper management staff members. It's unfortunate that a family owned company falls so far from its value of "respect" especially towards another family. It's almost comical that this was started by an innocent email from our family asking about a hand towel which launched an assault from the upper management team to reply with an unprofessional abrasive email which included accusations of criminal intent, threats of monetary penalties, forced removal from their property and a final management decision with no discussion.

We've been on a long cross-country tour, and this is my favorite Hotel so far. The staff is very helpful. Charcut is very good. The bed and the room were extremely comfortable. I would definitely return to this hotel. we have arrived late on one evening and left around noon the next day, because we were so late getting in we slept in, missing the complimentary breakfast. Staff was great about sending us down the street to the plowshare where we had probably the best breakfast we have had since we left home!

Located in the heart of downtown, Le Germain is a beautiful upscale hotel. Rooms are spacious and luxurious. Staff service is five star. Included breakfast is fairly basic with choices of various cheeses, breads, cold cereal, eggs and sausage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location right in the heart of downtown Calgary. Plenty of restaurants and stores within walking location. Check in was easy and the weekend package included free valet services. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a affordable place to stay in Calgary.

Wow. We booked this hotel for a night out without our kiddos. From the minute we pulled up we were completely impressed. By far the fanciest hotel we have stayed in. The BEST service I've had. Book through the hotel website and they made sure our valet parking and breakfast were included. The rooms were AMAZING. Every detail taken care of, comfy beds, nespresso machine, salt bath! We highly recommend this hotel. Worth every penny!

From the concierge to reception to the suite to the spa to the morning breakfast — everything was spectacular. The staff were beyond helpful and made our stay lovely. They handled our dinner and spa reservations with ease, and our dinner was as fantastic as the hotel. Could not recommend the Le Germaine higher, unless you’re talking about diamonds.

The hotel was in a convenient area of downtown with two doors facing an avenue and a street for easy pick-up. The staff were very professional and answered our questions quickly and politely. The rooms were very clean and modern. Sliding hanging doors for the bathroom and modern furnishings added to the feel of the room. The only issue I had was with the lights. They were a little dim for spotting wrinkles on my clothing while I was trying toiron my suit. Otherwise, a fantastic hotel with valet parking. I would definitely visit again!

The hotel was beautiful and very spacious. Only there for a luncheon but the food was incredible. It's in a very nice spot of downtown Calgary.

Very courteous staff and the room was huge and comfortable. The room and bathroom lighting was dim. Lots of food and tourist things around to do in the heart of dowtown.

We had been running around and forgot to eat. We called Charcut for room service and even though it was 2 hours before their normal room service began they still were able to accommodate us. Love this hotel from the warm staff to the beautifully appointed rooms with all the baby extras placed! Thank you again.

Modern updated rooms with great views on the higher floors. Clean and well maintained. Went here for my birthday and was surprised with a little gift bag filled with soaps and chocolate from the hotel. Great customer service all around. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely amazing location right at the foot of the Calgary tower with an award winning restaurant in the lobby. Simply stunning interior and incredibly helpful staff made our stay simply remarkable. Can only recommend this hotel over and over.

My girlfriend and I stayed one night at this hotel and we were amazed by how this hotel was so perfect. From the Valet to the front counter employee to the breakfast waitress, everybody were so professional, friendly and helpful. The room was the best we ever had! We will be back for sure!

I would recommend. I have stayed at 5 hotels this month for work and I would highly recommend this hotel in Calgary. The room was spacious and very well thought out, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious (a fair amount of free options), nice location and the staff was friendly.

Our first stay at the Hotel Le Germain was nothing short of amazing. The staff is what we were most impressed with; very proffesional 5 star service while still maintaining a very personable approach. We cannot say enough about the staff. As a person who can appreciate attention to detail, this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. We will be staying here next time we are in Calgary!

Le Germaine was everything we hoped for and more as a romantic getaway hotel. We spent Valentines here, and my partner and I fell in love with it. The staff were incredible and the room was flawless. We will be back, evening it is only once a year.

My Wife and I stayed here this past weekend for a little reprieve from the kids. Quiet hassle free. Complementary breakfast was good variety and availability. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Not to mention that the huge rain shower head was great. I seldom find hotel beds comfortable, but very much enjoyed this one… We will be back. Erwin the valet was GREAT, friendly and cheerful. (other than that we saw few staff) … management, if you read this… Erwin needs a raise or a bonus, hes a great smiling face for your hotel.

Stayed here for one night only but all I can say is WOW! We had a seamless check-in with about 3 staff helping us unload our luggage. I have to make a special mention of Kat with reservations! During our phone conversation I suggested to her that me and my husband were to celebrate our 60 day wedding anniversary during this trip! She had a personalized welcome note congratulating us for the same. She also assisted me last minute in getting a few pictures of us printed and displayed in the room! Perfect is the only word I can think of when I recollect our mini getaway! Breakfast was fresh and served with great attention! P. S If this review gets to Kat's manager, she deserves a raise/ promotion for going above and beyond with her personal touch!

The hotel was beautiful and very spacious. The staff was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond for us. The valet parking service was a breeze too! The location, right downtown, made it easy to find good restaurants and to see the things we wanted to see. I would definitely stay here again!

Superb helpful staff. Loved the room. And the candles made the whole night super. Highly recommend. (One elevator was out of commission but it didn’t cause much delay. Otherwise the property is super. )

The hotel is extremely nice. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. I docked a star because we called for room service and it never arrived. Had to call a second time to actually get it. The food was quite good when we got it.

Attention to detail is lacking: a non-functioning coffee machine in our hotel room was reported to front desk and not replaced for next day use, resulting in a second request. When the replacement machine was delivered to our door, the hotel employee insisted on a one-to-one exchange on the spot. He even spent 10 minutes in our room (at 6.30am) trying to unplug the original nonfunctional coffee machine, which was plugged in behind the minibar. I eventually called front desk to get him out of our room. A disaster service experience. The replacement coffee machine worked fine. The elevators take too long to arrive… Waits of up to 5 minutes. Crazy. During the Holiday week there was no daytime room service nor restaurant service: it was not possible to order any food. The front desk staff were helpful and provided a take out pizza menu from which I ordered an excellent pizza delivered to my room. The cleaning staff sprays some sort of mouldy smelling air 'freshener' during room cleaning. It is awful. Smells like puke. Valet parking was generally ok, but one wait of 15 minutes after we arrived in the lobby at the assigned ready-time was a disappointment. The continental breakfast is very good, as is the wait staff. Overall, this feels like a less than 4 star hotel and more like a three+ star.

My wife and I hosted our wedding reception at Le Germain and spent the night in one of their fantastic rooms. The drinks during the reception were quite pricey but the finger food was quite good. Overall a pretty good experience based on the service and quality of hotel.

Third stay at Le Germain and what continues to amaze me is the quality of staff, not easily found here in Calgary. The cleanliness of the rooms and attention to detail is what I expect plus in a high end boutique style hotel. We will definitely make a 4th visit. I have to stress to management how comfortable and professional the front desk and valets are you should be proud.

Great hotel with friendly staff and chic decor. Love the fold-down ironing board, bath soaps, rainwater shower, and comfortable bed. Three gripes: seemed to be sediment in the water — may be a Calgary thing, but did not look drinkable — needs to be filtered better; room is too dark — needs better lighting; lobby bar closes WAY too early — last call was before 10:30 on a Friday…?

The room was very clean and comfortable. The service provided by the staff was very professional and I felt very welcomed. The hotel is just across from the Calgary Tower which is also a tourist attraction that I highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding. Everything was perfect. They were even so kind as to write us a personalized note and provided us with a complimentary bottle of champagne. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a premier hotel.

Beautiful modern hotel with spacious rooms and loads of amenities for guests. Ensure bath was exquisite, large shower with a huge 2 food square rain shower. Comfortable beds. Good TV selection. Great downtown location.

Wonderful staff & having upgraded to a mini-suite, my wife & spent 4 nights living The Life. Special thanks to Stephen (? ), The Concierge! Easy 5-7walk to at least a dozen or more decent restaurants. Across from Calgary Tower & revolving restaurant. Stroll to Prince's Park. Take in a Calgary Flames game about a 20 minute walk or $10 cab ride.

Great hotel in a great location. However, I downgraded one star because the bathroom sink does not have a stopper and you can't fill it. Not good for shaving as you continually have to run the water. This is not very eco friendly. I also find the rooms a little dark. They do provide a good complimentary breakfast though.

Staff were professional and courteous. The room was spacious and well-appointed. Comfortable bed, large shower, and surprisingly, a mini-bar. Haven't seen one of those in a long time. Easy to check in and check out. Great location to explore downtown Calgary!

Very nice hotel that is centrally located in Calgary and is only 15 minutes from the airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and roomy. Deluxe Continental breakfast was included in our stay and was delicious!

My boyfriend and I got the regular king room and it was amazing. So beautiful. Valet parking. Made you feel like royalty. We would most definitely stay there again.

Best hotel I've stayed at since the cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Amazing service, comfortable over sized king beds, sweet water fall type shower and the room service food was second to none. They also we're very welcoming to our small pug and brought up treats and a bed with special water and food dish! Love it :)

Great rooms, good breakfast, overpriced parking.

This hotel was a absolute disappointment. They have changed from the Le Germain I remember! They no longer allow valet in the private lot on the middle of the hotel. Instead they are making guest drive around to the side door where there is nowhere to stop! I asked to speak to the manager Lionel and he was completely rude and did not treat me with any respect. Never staying here again!

Stayed in the $400/night 'prestige' corner room, the seperate tub was a nice touch. The spa services are overpriced but what do you expect. Overall a nice modern hotel with nice rooms, just do yourself a favour and leave the hotel in the morning to go find yourself some real breakfast and coffee. The breakfast here is a complete joke.

I stayed at the hotel with my wife as a birthday celebration. I asked for a package add on for the stay. The hotel provided a free upgrade which we were happy to receive.

Our favorite hotel by far. We stayed here twice, once in a suite, and were very impressed with both rooms. The beds and linens are amazing, so much so, that it makes getting out of bed in the morning difficult because the bed hugs you so nicely. Very modern furnishings, and Molton Brown toiletries. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs, and some drinks at the bar, both were great. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, and we loved the coffee. The hotel staff was mixed. Our first day, a very nice young lady helped us with checking in. She was extremely kind and helpful. The following day, when she was gone, the rest of the staff seemed a little distracted and uninterested. Would definitely stay here again though, still a great hotel.

From reservation staff all the way across the board, everyone was excellent. The room was exactly as I expected and room service was prompt. For a weekend in Calgary, it's worth the rate and I will stay there again. Maybe visit the spa next time too.

Very trendy hotel with great rooms and decor. However, it was a mixed bag with the staff. A few nice people but in general, pretty snobby. They made me feel like I was not up to their caliber of "cool" so I rushed to my room, glancing away in the other direction. I felt judged and uncomfortable despite the terrific design and facilities. I prefer the Fairmont Pallisner.

Stayed here for 1 night. Great bed, loved the TV in the bathroom, the rain showerhead, and the roof top hot tub. Best value for money near the airport hands down! Will stay here again when in the area.
