Fairmont Banff Springs

From the check in to the room, everything was so smooth for us. The food at the Vermillion was really good and the service better. Our room was perfectly comfortable with a view that was magical. My wife had a photo shoot and was so impressed with everyone that helped, especially the hospitality of the GM Richard. He made sure she was all set and happy with everything. We can't wait to see how the pictures turn out. Check out was easy and every staff member we encountered we happy to be there and to assist us. Thank you so much for this amazing experience.

Spectacular on all levels! This hotel is phenomenal and the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The entire staff was gracious and welcoming at every turn—from the curbside porter and front desk attendants to the restaurant staff and housekeeping. Throughout our stay we experienced consistent, highly-attentive service that anticipated our every need. As if this historic hotel, set in an unparalleled setting of the Canadian Rockies wasn’t awesome enough, the people who cared for us made it truly a 5-star experience. We’ll be back!

Beautiful location and exceptional service.
The dining experience varied across the restaurants. While some were very good, the Castello Restaurant did not fully meet our expectations during our visit. However, the Vermilion Restaurant was excellent, offering great food at a fair price.
I would like to especially recognize the outstanding personal attention we received across different departments and restaurants. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, and truly made us feel well taken care of throughout our stay.
In terms of entertainment, options were somewhat limited during the week. There were some outdoor activities and a few options for kids, but not many activities geared toward couples. Live music was not available during our stay, likely due to our midweek visit, and it’s possible there are more amenities offered on weekends. The hotel also seems to be popular with guests visiting for skiing and snowboarding.
Overall, while the experience did not fully align with our expectations, the setting was absolutely stunning. Staying in the mountains and enjoying the breathtaking views—especially from the Rundle Lounge—was one of the highlights of our trip. I would also like to commend the management team, who were very kind and responsive. They refunded part of the cost related to our experience at Castello and made a genuine effort to ensure we received the best possible service.

The best hotel experience I’ve ever had. There’s nothing better in Banff. Worth every dollar. Indoor outdoor pool and hot tub is amazing. Great in room dining. Superior service. Dynamite nespresso machine in room. Hot tub was 104•F which is fantastic! It’s actually hot! Some other resorts may wanna check their temps. This place is perfect.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Fairmont Banff Springs, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel, often referred to as the "Castle in the Rockies, " lived up to its reputation with stunning architecture and breathtaking mountain views.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who made us feel special right from the start. Our room was beautifully appointed, with luxurious amenities and a view that made every moment feel magical. The attention to detail was impressive, from the elegant decor to the complimentary treats waiting for us.
We enjoyed the Italian pizza we ordered. The food was exquisite, showcasing local flavors and high-quality ingredients. The service was impeccable, making our dinner experience truly memorable. Thank you Makyla for making our anniversary trip very special.
The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Banff National Park, and we loved exploring places nearby. The combination of nature and luxury made our anniversary feel extra special.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs. The room was well appointed and loved the Nesspresso coffee machine. Great views. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool was amazing, warm enough even when snowing and can’t beat the views. Definitely recommend the Waldhaus restaurant as was a wonderful dining experience. The free bus pass to avoid having to find parking downtown was a very convenient amenity. The term castle definitely applies to the property. Great stay and look forward to doing it again.

Famous luxury hotel with very courteous service everywhere but rooms small. Food in gold floor lounge plentiful and beautifully presented during hours they are available but the taste is bland. Also lounge has too few servers-although courteous, they look harried and barely have time to smile at you, much less converse with you, and sometimes ran out of plates and hot water. Self parking structure it's also about a 5 to 10 minute walk outside from the main hotel, and there is no elevator.

Rooms are ok, but the customer service is incredible. Tons of hiking right out the front doors of the hotel, plus tons of activities held by the hotel for kids. A bit pricey, but worth it for the customer service. Everybody working here are so kind! We come every fall with family and will continue to do so.

Our fabulous stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs exceeded every expectation! Highlights of the stay was exploring the beautiful surroundings on an e-bike, which made it easy to take in the stunning mountain views and fresh air. We walked along the Bow River, where the serene atmosphere and spectacular landscapes made for a peaceful and invigorating experience.
After the day's adventures, the Fairmont Spa was the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. The treatments were top-notch, and the facilities were a true sanctuary, offering a calming environment that helped us unwind completely.
Overall, our stay at Fairmont Banff Springs was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. We can’t wait to return!

We just spent two nights at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel as part of a Rocky Mountaineer & Banff package. Based on the price, I'd never have sprung for this luxurious castle nestled into the mountains, but WOW, what a place. We really enjoyed our time and experiences at this beautiful hotel. The staff members were very friendly and helpful, whether we asked about the bus schedule, hotel restaurants, good walking paths to the Bow Falls, how to best see the Northern Lights, or whether elk were really dangerous. We asked a lot of questions! The room was small (compared to modern standards) but lovely, comfortable, and well-appointed with a marble floored bathroom, rose scented toiletries, and very comfortable bedding. My favorite activity was swimming outdoors (in mid-October! at about 55ºF! ) in the super-heated pool — not quite hot-tub temperature, but close. It was heavenly to float on my back and look up at the mountains.

This hotel is a dream! We only did one night but it was so much more than we expected. We had a Mountain View room and we did the breakfast package when booking. The food was amazing and all the staff was friendly and so helpful. Highly recommend doing the history tour with Alex. He did a great job going over everything and showed just how special the hotel really is. We will definitely come back for more visits.

Such a beautiful location and the bed is extremely comfortable. The service was horrific though. I asked for toilet paper they never brought it. Went down for breakfast with my kids at 1050am breakfast ended 11am… With just one employee working the till at 11:05 am when I reached the front of the line they refused to serve me breakfast.

Very expensive Hotel. They can improve their swimming pool and clean at at least clean the steam room once per day. Steam room is Gross.

Absolutely fantastic. The suite concierge teams went above and beyond every time. Love the staff at 1888 and the Rundle Bar. See you again next year….

The lady in the checked in counter is very helpful. The room got updated (modern) from the previous booking we did. The bed and the pillows are so comfy to sleep on. We have a mountain views from our room, it is a delight.
