Ate lunch here by the water on a beautiful summer afternoon. All three of us ordered fresh, grilled fish from the lake and it was delicious. Think this may be the best/highest class lunch option on a day trip to Hallstatt.

Amazing hotel / restaurant. Right in the middle of the town. We had a great lunch here, right next o the late. Had handmade raviolis, local beer, shrimp and lamb. It was so wonderful to sit next to the lake while sipping wine / beer.

Pricy but unsatisfactory food. We ordered king prawn spaghetti and boiled beef. The prawn was small, not fresh and the spaghetti was dry. It even charged you for tap water and cover. View is average as it’s blocked by the tavern next to it. Not recommended.

The hotel is very big, the bed is very comfortable, although the room to live in the square is also not a flavor of the lovely. The location is very good but the food is ugh. It is quite enough for a beer on the terrace.

Pleasant stay here. Everything expected from a 4 star hotel. Only thing is that you couldn’t control the heating in your room. Breakfast is a real let down. Food is like warm and caters for both Asian and continental breakfast. I also had dinner here. Make sure you book ahead during the peak seasons. Dinner was absolutely grand. Wait staff were great and tentative. Totally different from breakfast. Seated near the window with candle lit dinner. Location is perfect. Short walk away from famous point where everyone takes photos. Also fairy is literally less than 1min away.

I very rarely give five stars. Five star implicate perfection. This hotel, its staff and everything about it comes close. A credit to every employee, the owners and the town of Hallstatt. We are already planning our return trip.

I was here just to have a lunch. I ordered Wiener Schnitzel — pork, and it's delicious. Really crunchy in the outside and the inside was really soft. The sauce that served with it was really match. It's quite expensive in my opinion but it's worth it because of the taste. The service itself was a standard.

This was the most expensive accommodations for our entire trip, and by far the absolute worst service. The hotel itself was ok, the problem here was the parking. Only residents can drive in the town, so you have to park in a parking lot outside of town and take a shuttle to the hotel. We took shuttle in without a hitch, and were told shuttles run every 30 minutes. On checkout, we wanted to take luggage to the car so we could enjoy a day in town. The shuttle driver dropped us off at the car with the luggage. When asked to take us back to the hotel he got an attitude and started yelling at us " check in, check out" We called the hotel their response was, he works for the shuttle service not the hotel, call a cab"

Great Location, nice rooms. The price has increased in the last 4 years in a 300% with no improvements in the hotel. That’s not acceptable. They use the chinese visitors willing to spend money. Never again.

Large kitchen standard… edible but expensive… unlovingly done… yes the Schnittzel looks just great… the meat is max half the size of the breading suspect. Noodles are actually hard and dry. One 4 Dternehotls not worthy and only as expected a Touriabzocke.

Restaurant Rating: Prices absolutely overpriced (Hollersoda Big 5, €10! ), food was unfortunately not good (Emperor Kaiserschmarrn from the bag?! ) and all in all more of a tourist magnet than a recommendable restaurant.

I was not staying but if in the restaurant, the food is very good and the service exclusive and excellent. Normal prices for Hallstatt.

It is a pity that we do not present our great Austrian food culture to the many nice tourists here!

A very nice little hotel with a great location for Hallstatt. You will have to walk a way in the pedestrian zone to get there, so mobility challenged people might consider a different hotel.

Used to be excellent. Looks like a new chef for 2017: classics are now okay but average (kaiserschmarrn used to be legendary). New menu not such a big hit. Probably resting on laurels since it's such a tourist trap.

The hotel faces the lake on the one side and small square on the other. Check-in and check-out were comfortable, staff — super helpful, decent breakfast. Also during check in we came early so we did not want to wait in hotel. Staff made sure to store baggage so we could go out and then they took baggage to the room (in 4, 5 stars hotels you usually have to ask for it if they do it at all. Here they suggested this themselves. Just a nice thing). During checkout they also stored the baggage so we could have extra time for Hallstatt. Interior of the hotel is quite lovely, room was well equipped. Very satisfied.

The location is absolutely amazing with breath-taking view of the lake. Definitely book a room with lake view, totally worth every penny. The room is with traditional Austrian decor but equipped with every modern utility you can ever imagine, one of our favorite is the Dyson fan heater. Our room has got a huge balcony with unbelievable lake view. The reception staff are polite and helpful. The food in their restaurant is also delicious. We especially love grilled while fish. Make sure you reserve a table early and you will get nice table by the lake. I highly recommend this hotel.

One of the best views in the world! Sunset on the lake from your own private balcony worth spending night in Hallstatt! Seehotel Gruner Baum has the best views!

Diner here for the first night in Hallstatt, staff is nice, we ordered a trout, a beef and a king pawn, only the king pawn is okay but still spicy even we emphasize not to put spicy sauce at order… the fish is too salty, but the side dish potato taste good, the beef is a bit over, so overall it is not worth of price for food, but the window seat maybe a add point in summer despite of the taste.

The lake fish at restaurant is a must try. Good location, concenient around, front desk is accommodating and helpful, excellent view from balcony and nice interior, it will be my pleasure to stay here again.
