I stayed here with my partner for our 4th anniversary. Firstly my partner had tried to organise a surprise of wine, chocolates and rose petals which he kept receiving up to 9 calls saying that one thing or the other couldn't be done. My partner also enquired about high tea booking a few days prior to our stay and was told not to worry about booking (I am aware how quickly high tea is booked out and I know a booking is ESSENTIAL), and lo and behold, the morning comes and it is fully booked. When we checked in we were greeted by the manager on duty who was rude and extremely unhelpful, when asking why we would be charged $100 on the spot he was unable to explain and just kept repeating a "script" and we were made to feel like idiots for not understanding. In addition to that NO WHERE was it mentioned that we would be charged $100 A DAY as bond. I would be okay with the charges if I was aware of them, this has caused a major problem with the bank and Pan pacific ended up billing me in 3 separate charges to my card which confused everyone involved. I was also told that the money would be in my account within 3 working days, It has been a week and they are still "rushing" the money back to me. This delay has resulted in my bank account becoming overdrawn. The room we stayed in was the Pan Pacific Club suite which had "soaring views" of a rooftop and chimneys. The partition doors that divided the bedroom from the living room were not on their hinges and didn't even close properly. I would also like to mention the danger of the step in to the bathroom area from the bedroom, made out of solid SHARP marble, I was surprised I didn't slice my foot open as my partner and I tripped over the step a good, 3 to 4 times before deciding we needed to lay down a towel to cushion the step and stop us from accidentally flying into and smashing the glass shower doors. The wardrobe automatic light is also faulty, often staying on permanently. The TVs located in the room are also not HDMI compatible (even though there is a port for the HDMI) so I was not able to connect my laptop. The only positive was the delightfully pleasant and helpful wait staff who actually listened to what we wanted instead of being handballed from one person to another and never getting a call back as promised. The food was excellent, and the room was neat and clean. Overall very disappointed with Pan Pacific, its a surprise that it's a 5 star hotel, I have stayed at 3 star hotels in better shape and better customer service! We will not be staying again any time soon. Pick up your game.
