Used to have good meal there with good special with main meals under $20. Went for dinner last week with family, overpriced meals, small portion, ridiculous kids meals for $14. Don't think will be back again!

Looking for somewhere that will cater for low Fodmap diet then look no further than this place, had the roast lamb and it was beautiful, they had no problem substituting the vegetables so I only had safe vegetables on the plate, or providing boiling water so I could prepare my own gravy, even when they accidentally brought my meal out with gravy, they had no problem with bringing out a replacement meal and double checked the vegetables were all correct, made for a very pleasant meal out.

Very good atmosphere great service spread out delicious food and drinks. I recommend them.

Room is comfortable and clean. Has everything we need. Bistro was very nice. Food and service was great and love the free desserts for seniors.

Not overly impressed with the fact that my order got repeated back to me and was correct at the time… oysters came out natural, not kilpatrick, then we’re delivered when we had all bar finished our meals. My sons schnitzel was a parmi, then the correct meals came out…. The waitress had delivered us the wrong meals. The steak was over cooked, the chicken parmi was too. Salad bar was amazing. The table near us commented also they were supposed to have vegetables and their meal come out with chips. The waitress the took her time scraping and clearing every plate at a large table while the chef continued to ring the bell, over and over again. We seen that many meals be delivered to the wrong tables it really wasn’t just a once off. All up I do think there’s some terrible miscommunication from masks, but overall I’m happy with the price but not the quality or service or what seems communication between kitchen and waiters.

Came here for tea and oh my goodness the service was absolutely fantastic even though the place was busy it was such great service.

We ordered 2 schnitzel and carbonara and it was all terrible, this was probably the worst meal we have had in a long time.

The food is horrible I had the chicken Schnitzel and it was sloppy and horrid 1 star review.

The place was full and only one staff member attending bar and one staff member taking orders… the line was 15 people deep waiting to place orders… food very ordinary and no one at our table finished their meals. Definitely not a recommendation from me…

The meals were nice and generous in size. I had the seafood platter but I wish I got the porterhouse steak once I saw it.

I had a budget room that was more than ample. Very clean and comfortable. Hot water on demand. Ate at the bistro, great meal and the breakfast was exceptional. Choice of budget meals or regular menu. I was spoilt.

Great room, queen suite balcony river view, modern, very clean, huge modern tv, awesome bathroom, will stay again, lovely staff too.

Nice rooms, but last night, spoke to receptionist if we could use the laundry mat seeing it closes at 8, but we finished work and got back around 8.30. She said of course I'll open it for you guys just close the door when your done. Whilst in the middle of my clothes getting washed and my work mates clothes in the dryer, one of the workers closes the door while we were in our rooms, my work mate walks over and realizes this and asked her that there were clothes being washed and dried (was still going so she obviously saw this and turned off the machines). My mate asks her if she has a key to it, she replies "no, try your room key" and then leaves. Not a care in the world, she was annoyed that she was getting asked for assistance, and she ended up leaving anyways.

Had to ask staff 3 times to get more dishes filled in salad bar they would only go and bring 1 container at each request in the end went to the bar and complained then they was stocked will have second thoughts about going back again.

Excellent position on the way to Devonport Tasmania warm comfortable excellent dining area With children's play area. Bar, and keno facilities and gaming area. On Tarleton street. With excellent views of the mersey river. Good parking and excellent service.

We've had quiet a few birthday party's there 4 teenagers we will b going back we also eat there every 3 months will b going back 4 sure highly recommend very accommodating but we avnt stayed there also Sunday roasts I hear a a big hit as we drive past the car park over filled & very booked out.

Has good pub feed type of menu. Has a kids area also for when they get bored while you talk with friends. Great place.

Somebody else already said it don't let the old school exterior put you off. This place was a pleasant surprise. Rooms have clearly been refurbished and could match the creature comforts of the grand chancellor that we stayed in. Rooms are clean spacious and modern. Of all the places we stayed while in Tasmania the Argosy Would deffinately be the best stay we had and we would deffinately stay here again while in Devonport.

Room was excellent. Very vlose to ferry but a bit out of town. Meal was good but had to wait a long time.

Our family often go down for meals at the argosy hotel east devonport. They're always a friendly bunch great service and somewhere safe for the kids to play and you can see straight through huge glass windows so you won't have to keep getting up to check they're ok. So family friendly and it never exceeds our budget for a decent meal I love the salad bar. The huge windows on the other side of the resturant offer great views of the Mersey river. They're public bar serves meals as well they have all modern cons including pool tables keno and pokies. They serve breakfast to the public for those getting off the boat the have great rooms as well. I drive past everyday and it's always busy. They've recently done some new renovations and I think it's even more appeal. Loving being a local.

Was getting late by the time we arrived in Devonport, driving around looking for somewhere to stay we came across the Argosy, definitely wasn't disappointed in their renovated room. A view of the river off your private balcony, clean well maintained rooms and comfortable beds. We will definitely be back.

Spacious dining room with extensive range of dishes. Enjoyed the Sunday roast with included dessert. Views over River Mersey. Free parking at rear.

Your standard hotel/motel. Comfy and clean. 15/10 for water pressure though, the showers are amazing.

What a great Motel we were upgraded to a newly refurbished room it was the best, it is a great location and easy to find and it ajoined a hotel which also served great food, if you want value this is a great place to stay.

It was a very clean room. The location was great, right near the water. The odor in the room smelt like there was a cigarette smokee. But overall it was a great experience.

We went here for a meal last night, there was 7 of us and our lil monster and the meals were great, good atmosphere and the staff were fantastic, busier than I thought it would be for a Tuesday but meals all came out quickly with smiling and friendly faces, when ordering dessert, my wife wanted the top deck cheesecake as she loves chocolate, and the girl behind the counter gave her extra chocolate sauce on top which we thought was excellent customer service. Looking forward to coming back.

The meals had large portions and were hearty and filling. Service was good and there was an indoor children's playground where children could play. A little bit pricey for your typical counter meal but the quality didn't leave us regretting it.

I loved it here. Very cosy. Great friendly staff. Large meals for a good price. $13 plates were huge and yummy. I stayed 8 days and will return. Rooms fairly clean. Spa needs needs attention as rusty fragments came out of it also under lamps very dusty but all in all I enjoyed my time here. Highlight was seeing seals in the bay.

The meal was very ordinary could have cooked better at home myself, daughter found hair in mushroom sauce, stopped going there a couple of years ago because the meals had gone down hill thought we would try again but there was no improvement, staff were lovely.

Great place to take the family for lunch or tea. First time going there on Sunday and the food was great, they have a big playground for the kids to use tunnels and toy machines. And the view on the water is really nice. Highly recommend.

After a long and uneventful trip across Bass Strait it was a very pleasant surprise to be greeted with a big smile and a friendly hello from the receptionist on duty. She was very busy as this establishment was totally booked out. For a most reasonable and what could be considered a cheap price that we paid, we found the room had very clean, tidy fresh sheets, the shower was hot and plenty of water to boot. We also dined in the Bistro and the meals supplied were fantastic with large serves at a most reasonable price. I paid my compliments to the chef. Staff here were very friendly and attentive with nothing too much trouble for the three we dealt with. Importantly our beverages were cold and served in very clean glasses — always a plus for us. We have booked a return visit in a weeks time before our trip hometown the mainland. Location, location, location. Well done to all concerned and thanks.

Staff are friendly, buildings need update/ facelift. Has 3 restaurants pokies, kids area.

Called at about 9pm and the staff were lovely and helpful. The place we were meant to stay at got double booked and we thought we might have to sleep in the car but Argosy saved the day. Was only about $70 for the room and it was okay. At least it was clean and tidy.
