Friendly staff. The pool looks lovely. Close to airport and close to city centre. I stayed for one night as I was passing through. ‘a room with a double bed’ was actually just two single beds pushed together with a lump running down the middle. It was the most uncomfortable night of sleep I’ve had in a long time. I could feel springs in the mattress digging into me. You can hear every single noise in the hotel — tables and chairs being dragged, doors opening and closing, people chatting, footsteps thumping around and toilets flushing. Non stop noise. It’s insanity. I would have been better off sleeping in my car. I also didn’t like that the door didn’t have a deadlock. That’s a basic feature in hotel rooms for safety.

Nice staff. Good room. Easy parking. Minus one star for bathroom, which has ground unleveled so it's always wet and dirty and room service doesn't clean it.

Very disappointed. Poorly positioned. Quite a walk into city centre. Much better options available. Also found one staff member very patronising and unhelpful when I mentioned that the rate we had been charged for accommodation, was far higher than advertised on day of arrival. A difference of $70 per night. The Queensland was far from booked out. Would not recommend at all.

Not a bad spot but there are better options in town. The front staff is nice but you can wait up to half an hour because there is one staff member for the desk for a fairly large hotel. The room was comfortable and air conditioned. One washer and dryer for the hotel at $3 each ($1 coins only). The restaurant is so-so. Other people were having hot water issues and had to change rooms multiple times. However, there's parking and we were comfortable, so you could certainly do worse.

Clean hotel, fair price for what it offers. Good location, within walking distance to the waterfront and all restaurants.

Big rooms, close to Esplanade. At the 'other' end of all the city action. Easy 15 min walk to get there though. Good iron, lots of space and friendly staff.

Nice, greeted room, nice clean pool, courteous and helpful staff and top Internet connection — for free. Everything the vacationer's heart desires.

People can be precious. It's cheap, clean, quiet, friendly and convenient. Close to foreshore and all the takeaway you could need on the highway 200m away. As good as you could ask for a work traveller.

The room was large and nicely decorated. I enjoyed the kitchenette a lot! However, they could have added few little things to make the experience even better. A cutting board in the kitchen was necessary, bathroom lacked toothpaste, shower curtain was missing. Front desk staffs were mostly friendly except for the guy on the night shift. Wi-fi was not good.

Not too bad but noisy and a long way from shops or food. There are fluros in the walkways that cant be turned off and shine into the bedrooms. Not very clean and the room we had the carpet smelt moldy. Not sure why but I could feel bed springs through the mattress. Oh well you get what you pay for.

We visited for four nights on an organised tour. Everything was good, hotels own restaurant good for breakfast and evening meals. Also good range of fast food shops on captain Cook Highway about 200metres away. Broken hinge on toilet seat fixed same day. All staff very pleasant and welcoming.

Gross food and bad quality rooms and service. Do not order the garlic prawn from the hotel restaurant. Definitely would not stay again.

Spacious well appointed and immaculately clean rooms, great location, friendly staff.

The apartment was clean but it is a bit tired looking. Requested portacot was ready and made up for us and air con on for our arrival. Washing machine came in handy! Fairly close to esplanade and restaurants. Friendly staff. We recommend going to esplanade for dinner rather than the Cock & Bull around the corner.

Front desk staff was helpful. There is a place to store your bags after check out if you have evening flights. They also have printing service if you need it. The room was very decently priced and spacious. Would be nice if bigger rooms had more bathrooms as we had to share one between the five of us.

We stayed for 3 weeks. Very nice to place to stay. Staff were very kind and helpful. The pool was nice until it got busy. The level of water was noticeably falling to under the filters that didn't seem to be on anyway and this made the pool begin to get dirty. They remade the beds and gave us fresh towels everyday. We only got a big clean once a week and the cleaner never wiped down the bathroom benches. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner so we couldn't get any food when we were hanging by the pool watching the kids swim but nothing that ordering pizza couldn't fix. Overall I would go back as the customer service was amazing. They were always helpful and kind.

Simple and affordable accommodation in Cairns city.

Very nice hotel! Big bedrooms with a lot of facilities, everything looks new and is beyond what you expected. Very comfortable bed, perfect to relax. We will not hesitate to come back in this nice hôtel.

Close to hospital, reasonable budget accommodation, self contained but no hot plate just plug in frypan. Small but Tidey rooms.

Always exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Great value, clean and easy to get to.

Stayed 4 nights at these apartments. Can only describe as GREAT! Very large rooms and plenty of facilities. The dining room food was SUPERB and reasonably priced. Plenty of "off street parking" with easy access. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Stayed here for a bucks weekend, had two adjoining rooms on the Digger Street side. Rooms were good value for money, large, good facilities, private balcony/outdoor area. location was good, far enough away from the CBD to be quiet but still close enough to walk to. Staff were friendly and helpful, the 24 hour reception is handy. Restaurant was a little overpriced, but so are all hotel restaurant. I'd recommend the Queenslander for a family or a quiet vacation, if I come back to cairns I'll probably stay closer to the city though.

Have been staying here for years as we live in Cooktown, the new section is lovely but more expensive then the old. There are no cockroaches in the old section, it is perfectly clean and good for families that like to eat in etc. Cheers Guys.

Exceptional stay, great location, you get your moneys worth and great service.

If you take a room here, make sure you are in a new section. The old part is very disgusting, I just hope it don't have any cockroach.
