My cousins stayed here when they were visiting from Adelaide. The whole place looks dingey and in need of a facelift. The elevator jumped and jerked. The room was small, dated and a bit stuffy. I'm assuming the rats in the lane were allowed to remain because they were too big to eject. There was a double bed that was comfortable and a sofa bed that was not. It was, however, very convenient to the city, potts point and eastern suburbs.

Straight to the point on this place! A filthy hotel motel that looks nothing like the photos with the staff to match. Straight out of the movie “ Psycho “ Bates hotel “ style self rated 3 star hotel“ The name is deceiving “ suites “ as they are just small run down rooms. (flickering lights to match, Norman and Norma bates are more attractive then this mob) Dirty linen and dust everywhere and barthooms that look like they where under demolition. Even the cheap glass shelf over the vanity slops so you guessed it no where to put your toiletries (the staff suggest floor). The shower had a water saver and you may get ten minute shower if your lucky. The rooms are so dimmly lit impossible to do any type of work related things here! 5w globes I’m guessing. The room is equipped with a small kitchenette with one tea spoon, dirty ikea mug, one knife and every other offering missing. A sprinkle of cheap sugar and coffee offerings that are not appealing. The Homless vans that frequent the place for the many homeless have better offerings I noticed. If you want to be pested for money stay here (all the beggars and drug junkies love this place) Cheap signs all over the place in the room aggressively instructing you to keep the doors closed, sensitive fire dectors that go off any minute with drug looking and easy people screaming poring out on to road not knowing what to do.

Not a bad hotel if your just going to sleep there try it convenient to club's and pub's and Restaurants Bars Kings Cross.

Stayed here in November of 2016 with two friends. You get what you pay for in all honesty so can't complain. It is in a red light district; Kings Cross, but this means your close to nightclubs and the like. Don't expect anything fancy.

Very small, lacks remodeling and better attention. The room service is bad and there is no food.

Good hotel. Rooms are of adequate space & equipped with microwave and minibar. Nice bathroom for showering. The only drawback is lack of pillows on beds.

Our connecting train to central was delayed and so we missed the last train of the night to get us home. Called this hotel to try and get a room for my partner and I and they told us they were completely booked. I checked their website amongst other third party booking sites and they said there was rooms available. When I confronted him about this he became unhappy that I asked and was persistent they couldn’t provide us with a room.

Nice hotel right in the thick a the cross. Clean Sheets, bright rooms and air conditioning. Don't need much else than that when you're in a perfectly safe Paradise by the sea. Respect.

Place is clean short walk reasonable price. Linen and room cleaned every day. Had a room located at the back of the Hotel on second floor Spacious with queen size bed and a single. Small kitchen with instant coffee and microwave. Cant fault cleaniness and basic facilities. Free Wi-Fi. Overall good value for area. Motel style accomodation not Hotel.

Good value. It isn't perfect, but the price is right. Comfortable room, working air conditioning, free Wi-Fi. Not very accessible, lights were a little faint and the water from the shower tended to spill over to the bathroom floor, so it could be a little messy.

Rooms are not at all what they look like online… they are unclean, old and falling apart. Paint was peeling off the walls and black mould was growing on the ceiling. Windows were broken and leaking and aircon barley worked. Staff were friendly although security was rude and pervy.

Quite convenient as it is in the middle of Kings Cross, the staff, however, aren't as friendly, although the owner is a top bloke. The rooms were fine, okay experience overall.

The area is not as dodgy as it used to be. Price for this is good relative to other prices in Sydney.

The location is excellent with only minutes from the train station. It's easy to find and the staff are helpful. Though it's a red light district but it was safe throughout my stay. You may hear some yelling but ignorance is a bliss. The main door will be closed at around 8pm and you have to swipe your room card to enter the building which is a plus point in security term. The room is equipped with usual amenities such as coffee, hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner. Etc. Water heater works great in cold weather — applicable only to attached-bathroom rooms. We booked a suite and we are very happy with the stay. However their Wi-Fi speed is SLOW and their airconditonal is not clean. I can see dust filled up and it takes some time to cool down. Over all experience is great as the location is super convenient to every thing you need. Restaurants/bars/pharmacies/supermarkets… highly recommended with the fraction of price we pay.

Nice location BUT the room is terrible and it has a lack of powers sockets. The hotel looks totally different on the advertisement and when you actually arrive it looks like a trashed building with a very compact lobby. Unproffesional service and I had insects in the room. Very un-hygenic and they charge for extra people.

Terrible place to stay nothing like the photos. Noisy at night and very uncomfortable beds with a cushion offered as a pillow. Computers were apparently down and had to wait over an hour for room keys. Definitely not worth the money to stay here I advise you to avoid this place at all costs.

Its near few things but a little distance to get to some big attraction.

Old, dirty and full of cockroaches! Bought roach spray on our first night. Would not recommend to anyone. Ever. You get what you pay for really.

Comfy place with nice facilities (microwave etc). In the middle of red district.

It's a great place if you need to sleep at the city.

This hotel was unacceptable. I killed 5 roaches on our first morning there. I asked if we could switch rooms and the front receptionist asked if I would bring the roaches down as proof. He also asked if he could just give me some roach traps to place around the room after telling me that I was being dramatic. Why do you have roach traps if this is not a common occurrence for you? The manager eventually gave us a new room which had no issues. The price was great but not worth dealing with roaches. I have stayed at many hotels in this price range and have never had to kill roaches.

The apartments are clean and spacious with mod cons and there's a laundry service too. The rooms might get slightly noisy as it is situated in a 'vibrant' area of Sydney and is probably not suitable for families with children. Staff are friendly and we're helpful in explaining directions to us.

Affordable hotel with a great quality/price rate. Well located. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable.

My past stay at lido suites is one to be forgotten. I in recent times have stayed at the hotel a total 5 times and each time have had a pleasant experience. Though on my recent visit to the hotel my partner and I were treated with the up most disrespect and dishonesty by both employees and management of the hotel. The incidents began when a TV in our room was broken not by any fault of our own, I went and notified a member of staff that it was not working we were then told it would cost us $300 to fix the TV that we had no involvement of breaking, so we asked them to find an alternative solution. Later that evening we went out for dinner on our arrival back at 11:00pm the night manager said either we pay for the TV or we find else where to sleep that night with out warning. Reluctantly I paid the man just so that we could have a place to stay that evening. The following days I contacted the hotel requesting my money back but on both occasions front desk brushed the matter off and said theres nothing they can do and even denied taking my money "quote its not your problem your name isn't on our list" I then tried to contact the owner Jennifer Vucicic via email explaining to her the situation but have had no reply from her. You could assume she doesn't check her emails but on the copy of an email I obtained from front desk to her it took her a little over 5 minutes to respond when asked what to do about the TV from a staff member.

Switching hotels grim darlinghurst to kind cross can be a bit jarring, but with appropriate expectations the proximity and availability win out when other options fall through. Lido suites provided a room when I needed one, buy it was dark, dinghy and it smelled. The carpet needs replacing, and the curtains should be washed at the least. Ok the other hand, ask facilities provided were functional. The electronic keys did seen to have some trouble, but would eventually work. Hard to recommend, but ultimately the hotel provided the basics, and when your options are limited it's worth knowing about.

The rooms are old, and the A/C was broken. In 42C weather, this made staying in the room unbearable. When we complained about the broken A/C, the manager insisted that everything was fine, and the fact that it can't cool the room wasn't an issue.

I do not think that you will find cheaper in Sydney, for 90Dol you have a fairly well-placed hotel room. A room for 60 euros in Paris it's science fiction.
After it is far from a palace. But enough if you are looking for just a place to sleep. At this price there is no room service. The view… A wall of the building across the street at 1 m distance. Very dark room so. But it's Sydney that we want to see, not the room!
The second BIG, very BIG problem is the noise. The hotel is adjacent to a nightclub… The bass shake the walls, fall asleep you before midnight required earplugs for the sensitive to noise.
The neighborhood is pretty strange too. Sex shops and strip tease clubs littering the street with little dressed ladies who approach you innocently a ' sex?  ».
Well, despite that it was OK, price was no better, we're not dead and we have never been worried for our security or our health, and that's the best our budget could offer us!
Last thing: 100 Dollar deposit to the arrived.

Horrible experience we booked a room ahead of time the lady on the phone was great. We told her that we would be checking in at 11 p. M we got there at the time we told her. Then the staff was different I walked in past a 2 man group of smokers as I walked in he asked do you have a room here I said im just checking in he then put his cigarette out and said why didn't you say so. I asked oh do you work here he said yeah we tried to check in with our card he said that we needed a 100 cash deposit and that my credit card did not work we got in an argument and he said in a childish manner that I dont have to give you anything. I have no idea why I wanted to stay there after I seen what a piece of trash he is wont ever stay there again we ended up staying with a different hotel where my card that supposedly did not work. Dont stay at this hotel the night shift is just a bunch of inbred idiots.

NOT AS ADVERTISED Great location and that's where the good ends. On arrival we checked in, went to our room and discovered that we paid the highest price for the hotel and were given the cheapest dodgiest room available. When the front desk were confronted they explained that it was our fault as we didn't tick which kind of room we wanted (it's a $30 difference between the two rooms and there were no room options on their website during payment, we assumed that the room we clicked on was the room we were booking). Pictures on all websites are inaccurate. Absolutely run down "Suites" more like backpackers. The room had a gigantic hole in the bathroom door, mold and missing tiles throughout. Only one blanket and one pillow for a double bed. The rooms have no sound protection at all. We could hear everything that was happening in the rest of the hotel. After getting back to our room early in the morning we didn't get to sleep til nearly 8 am because of parties that were happening in more than one other room; with check out being two hours later we managed to get an hours sleep. Terrible place to stay and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, EVER.

Best "budget" accommodation I've ever stayed in. Rooms are generously sized, well appointed and very clean. Right in the heart of all the action in the Cross, Fri/Sat nights are wild =).

Excellent. Very good service! perfect location. Very close with central e everything other. Restaurants pub. Night clubs. Owsome.

In relation to price and location, Lido Suites get an A. The location was perfect for what we needed, though as a result of the surrounding bars and clubs (on a Fri/Sat night stay) it was very loud. The room itself was probably the nicest budget accommodation I have ever stayed in, clean, modern and all in working order. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. If you're younger, looking for a base for a weekend out on the town and don't mind the noise, I would 100% recommend this place.

It was great. The stair ways were a bit ugly but the rooms were great. Service great, value great. Only problem is if you want a decent sleep. It is right next to some clubs and pubs and can get extremely noisy. But if you come to enjoy yourself, it's where you wanna be.
