Great location. Friendly hosts.
I have never written a negative review before but — please be careful booking with this motel. Despite booking and paying for a ‘triple room’, inputting three guests (1 adult and 2 children) into my Wotif booking, the person at check-in acknowledging my two children and the fact the rooms were made up for three people — 4 towels, 3 beds all made up, 4 coffee cups etc… The owner of the motel (I’m assuming since he said the lovely lady doing the check-in had no idea what she was doing) still hit me up for an extra $60. He said this was a known issue — but he appears to have made no attempt to correct this with the online booking agencies nor was I contacted before my arrival or notified at check-in. There’s no excuse for that. It felt a bit sneaky to be surprised with the extra charge — I’m not sure why the rooms were made up for that many people but you have to pay a charge for more than one person? In 12 years of travelling with children I’ve never experienced this issue before with any establishment. The location is great (walk across the road to all the main cafes and restaurants). The beds are comfortable. The rooms are quiet. They’re making an effort to be eco conscious and that’s all good. But the rooms are a little musty and mouldy, there’s no view (we looked into someone’s apartment) and the hotel could do with a refurbishment soon. It’s a shame they’ve made no effort to correct this problem.
