Highland Hostel

I recommend you go there for sure. It has a small and cozy atmosphere. Tigran and Daniel are kind and lovely people, and I hope I can see them again soon. ☺️

The entrance to the hostel is in a back road and it's not marked at all… the door to the hostel are not even marked… if you get through the correct door it's top floor (5th I think) new metal door on the left. Definitely ring the doorbell which hostel will send you in email/booking. Com etc message or you just won't find it.
The hostel windows face the main road so it's going to be noisy. The are lockers but if you are unlucky you either won't be able to use them because they so high (bed 4) or you will need to use a stepladder/chair…
The common area is quite good, and there are basics in the kitchen. Looking at the tours they offer they are more expensive than other tour providers so I am not sure why people rave about them? Maybe they just don't know how to use Google?
I stayed one night and found cheaper and better hostel in much better location.

Very nice cozy hostel. People here are very helpful.

Very professional & helpful owner. I loved the environment & positivity of this hostel. Very clean. All quipped kitchen & free Wi-Fi, coffee & tea. Laundry is also free. Best part is you can cook what ever you want to. SAS Shopping centre is also near by just 100 meters from hostel.

It is on the 4th floor, but it was OK.

Best price/quality ratio in a hostel I have ever seen in life. Will probably never see a better one. I wish all hostels were like this. I can see that people invest and reinvest in it. Very clean and neat — like in Mariott, indeed. Very nice wall tiles and sanitary ware. Hygienic shower! Looks unexpectedly classy. Very many plugs — even under kitchen table and of course, near each bed. Comes quite handy indeed. Cozy yet bright lighting. Lockers! (not too secure, but still nice to have). Soft new mattresses. Warm floors. Washer and dryer (! ). Plethora of kitchen utensils. Kitchen hood. Very kind host. Worth every penny you spend. Hard to find if you did not get directions. But here are the directions: find a noname entrance in the yard and call apt 46 (there is a separate doorbell with number 46 scribbled above it).
Then go to the last flat of the last floor and knock.

The owner talked loudly outside on the dinning table after 11pm after I said goodnight to him. It kept me from falling asleep, for a potentially early morning daytrip.
I couldn't find a place to keep my fruit outside the fridge, then the owner threw it away and took the rubbish away! 😭😢
My expensive fresh walnuts were shared by the host and eaten by others. How can you know which table is for shared food and which for private placement!? These are the unspoken norms for new check ins?
I expected better for such a price. At least decent and quiet sleep.
During the day, it's very quiet. After 11pm people started to talk over drinks. It's more for night fun owls to sleep during the day time.
The dormitory is too odorous to sleep. It's a rude Russian house.
However, the facilities are good. There's only one 8-mix dormitory with a big lounge room and a big kitchen table. All clean. You can turn on the AC whenever you want. Laundry is free with powder.
But to me, the Dubai €5.5 dormitories are still way better than this €10 dormitory. At least it's quieter for sleep and odor free.
I'm disappointed because of such a high score with such experiences. The host offered last night free for removing this review. I refused because of his sarcastic tone. Then he wants me to leave. It's a capricious host. This is a factual review based on my real experiences.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The hostel's location is perfect. They give you excellent instructions to help you find the location. There is one private room and one room with 8 bunk beds. Lockers for each person, and good security overall. The common area is great, with a cozy couch & dining room table for work or eating or chilling. Laundry was free! Vahag is awesome — he lives on site and is super thoughtful, helpful, and also just fun to chat with. We can't wait to come back! Lots of good vibes here.

Great location, good conditions, modern and well equipped, very familiar atmosphere. It made me feel at home. Very helpful owner! I really recommend this place.

Lovely, hardworking and helpfully owners, super clean place, comfy beds, great fully equipped kitchen, 2 perfect bathrooms. Feels more like being a guest than a hostel. Very much recommended. Everything is well thought, comfortable and made with love. Tigran is very responsible, oblijing and caring. He is also very helpful in advising hiking trails, transportation, and in any kind of traveling support. The location is perfect: center of the center, but not noisy.

Great location, super modern hostel with an amazing kitchen for evening gatherings and the host is just a GEM. He is super creative and mindful. Knows a lot about Armenian Highland and is super helpful to all travelers! Huge Recommendation!

This hostel is brand new and in perfect condition. You can see that all equipment, furniture, appliances, etc. Were chosen to be of good quality, comfortable, and so that guests have everything they can possibly need while staying there. It is very well located close to all main attractions, but the windows open on an inner courtyard/alleyway so you hear nothing when sleeping with the window open (there is also AC if too hot). But the best part of Highland Hostel is Tigran, the owner, who is the nicest, most welcoming, available, knowlegeable, interesting, and generous person in Armenia! He went out of his way to make our stay as smooth as possible and he is definitely one of the main reasons why we loved our stay in Yerevan. Thank you so much for everything!
