Literally across the road from Picadilly station. Although on a msin junction fairly quiet when its time for bed. Room was clean, bed was comfy, ensuite shower looks awesome, although not tried it yet. Bar maid is lovely and they serve Peroni on draft! That's my man happy.

Cracking pub est. 1867. First visit to this place. Details taken for track and trace and temperature taken which is a big tick. We received lush warm welcome from the two ladies behind the bar. Good atmosphere and cracking selection of drinks.
We will be back, cheers.

Stayed here on 31st August for the man City Brighton game great atmosphere and the lady who runs the place showed me to my room and was very friendly and helpful would definitely recommend this place and a stones throw away from the train station :)

Met an old mate here, not seen him 26 years. We're reds and city were playing but the blow was lessened by proper local service and ales.

Nice food served by the single member of staff who was on duty at the time and was most down to earth, very easy to get on with. Strange that you cannot order a hot drink such as tea or coffee unless you are staying at the hotel above the bar, it took some pursading to get a cup of tea for me and my wife since we are both on medications and we both drive. Reasonable price for the food.

When I am in Manchester and my business is done this is my go-to drinking hole. Just by the train station so it is perfectly placed. It is a city centre pub with a 'local' atmosphere. Always a great selection of cask, never in less than top condition. I will catching a connection at Picadilly on Saturday so I will be "testing a few more samples" that afternoon!

Had a bad pint, went to get another and the land lady was lovely. Pulled another pint, which was still "off" slightly but being too nice to mention it I was going to drink it. That was until she came over to ask if it was alright and then made sure I was happy by getting me a different pint. Really nice lady who made sure I was happy, she went above and beyond to make sure I was enjoying myself.

Diane such a bubbly lady nice to talk too. Bar is clean never been in before but glad I did will recommend highly to everyone. Has TV screen.

Great pub, handy for Piccadilly Station. A good selection of beers, real ales Holds a Casque Mark Award for good cask ales. This beers included Boondoggle, Cumberland, Lancaster Bomber. The place to be for that last pint with friends before catching the train.

Called in here to avoid the football, website advertises no TV… wrong. Beer selection good.

Nice and friendly. We called in to pass some time after a concert at the Apollo theatre. We could see the taxi rank at the back of Piccadilly Station. It ment we didn't have to queue quite as long for a ab home.

Old fashioned city centre pub. Use it or lose it. Good beer. Not super cheap but much cheaper than Northern Quarter. Friendly staff. Give it a go.

The beer in here was almost always good in here. But in the last few visits have been a little off. I normally go for the Lager now as the bitter is a little hit n miss. Had the Boondoggle in here last and it wasn't great. I like the bar and the feel of the place. Just the beer isn't my taste. Shame really.

Always good service and on occasions I've been there plentiful sandwiches and pies on the bar for customers. Sunbeam and other ales kept in great condition. Just 5 mins from Piccadilly station.

Lunch there with my sister on monday 19th… lovely young lady on bar … Had a 25 min wait for food but freshly cooked and was delicious… not too expensive a good old fashioned pub… and location spot on opposite manchester Piccadilly… would recommend it to anyone.

Called in on the way to the Apollo theatre for a pre gig pint, so friendly we called in on the way back too. Plus they offered us free sandwiches too! Great place we sat near the open fire and had a great laugh with the ladies behind the bar.

Decent, clean and honest pub. Very good choice of cask ales available. Received very quick service and beer was served at the right temperature. Was here at 6pm when the pub was busy but not rammed. Reasonable amount of seating available and no TV. Bliss. Simple decor with high ceilings gave a nice feeling of space. Recommended.

Beer good. Wouldn't like to spend a whole evening here.

What a fantastic proper pub serving Wolverhampton real ale… Please, please, please can we have Banks mild & bitter back which would be the icing on a very good cake!

A good pub serving a range of ales etc. On the expensive side for a pint but convenient for Piccadilly station. Gets very full when city or united are playing (doesn't actually show sports).

Top beer, top landlady very welcoming can't do enough, top bar staff good laugh, food is ace, will be calling in again, thx for your company xx.

Basic but basically good. For the price, it is a very good place to stay for one night. The room is well presented and nicely cleaned, the same for bathroom. Only issue is the size, it is a small room hence it’s good for one night stay and no more. The Bull’s Head Went there for a quick dinner and had a cheeseburger, I don’t do this often but this time I told the barkeep to give the chef my compliments. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The Pub itself looks very traditional and homey in a nice way. Will go there again if ever I’m Manchester.
