Great place, like the idea that they want to help the environment by not bleaching their laundry. Shame they use a lot of single use plastic. Seems to be a miss match of eco friendly policies. This is a hotel that is a little bit of the wall. Film orientated reception and bedrooms. Good stay just need to look at the overall effect the hotel is having on the environment.

I booked this hotel months in advance. I was not given any notification that the hotel restaurant was been renovated until the day before we flew to London. I was promised an upgrade in an email conversation I had with staff a month out from the trip to only find that on arrival they had given the promised room away. The staff where very rude during our stay. The cleaning staff… well we stayed 6 days and on the day off check out we found belongings under the bed that did not belong to us… EWWWW! The cleaning staff also broke some of our belongings and tried to clean it up but did a poor job and never left a note or notified any of the staff. We then had to try to find a replacement for the broken item. The only saving grace was after the check in issues they gave us vouchers for breakfast for the hotel next door. will not stay here again or recommend to anyone.

Stayed here last year on a visit to London. The location is amazing, and I loved being in that neighborhood. You could walk to so many places. The staff was great, and the breakfast was amazing. I don't need much for breakfast so it was perfect. The room was a bit small, but I've found that's just how rooms are in the area. When we arrived our AC was broken, but the quickly sent someone to fix it. I liked that the shower and the sink area were separate so it made getting ready easier. It was a great stay and hoping I can make a return visit some day.

It was a very nice Hotel.
This is a youthful and informal hotel, the lobby has a setting that recalls musicals.
Breakfast is served buffet, plentiful and varied, some cakes are self-produced.
The room Although small is equipped with everything you need and, personally, I found it comfortable.

Nice quirky little hotel, the rooms are small but cosy. The breakfast was quite good and there was no noise from London.

Excellent location, staff also available for advice on pubs and clubs, buffet breakfast with a lot of variety. The décor is very special, the hall is inspired by the world of cinema and entertainment, the rooms to the movies. In The bathroom was available bubble bath, soap and soap as a "courtesy line", I sincerely expected more given the price. So bring the shampoo!

Stayed at this hotel last for my husband's birthday. Absolutely loved the quirkiness of the place. It was all themed on movies, even the bedside lamps were bowler hats! Everything was clean and well presented. There was a continental breakfast included which had a good choice of cereal, fruit etc. There are a good choice of attractions nearby, and I will most definately stay again.

Very good location as direct subway connection, room size fully adequate with free safe. Good breakfast until 10 am, free coffee full-machine stand available throughout.
Are back at night after our flight was cancelled and were able to stop us in the lobby until the next morning. Nachtperosnal even printed out the new plane tickets and called us a taxi. Generally very friendly and previously coming staff.

Great in every way! Very clean, comfortable, breakfast very good but with little variety, decorated with pleasure and the staff very friendly. Would repeat without hesitation.

This hotel was okay for the price. The room was pretty nice. My only complaint was that the shower was… puzzling. In that it was really difficult to figure out how to operate it. Also — continental breakfast only. No bacon.

Hotel very well located: 2mn walk to London Bridge subway and Borough market — professional and friendly staff — varied and generous breakfast — hot beverages 24/7 in self service — area home and rooms with warm décor/cosy — quiet hotel — only Bém OL: Pillows that are too hard and bulky (I usually have a feather pillow).

Hotel is well situated. Staff are friendly and helpful, and wear casual clothes as uniform as the hotel has a chilled out atmosphere. Room was decently sized and well stocked with amenities. Shower room is nice, bright and clean. Bed was firm, but comfortable enough for me, however if you have trouble sleeping/back issues I wouldn't necessarily recommend. Nice view of the Shard and the city from our room. Breakfast is a wonderful complimentary continental spread including cereals, pastries, cold cuts, yoghurts and fruits. However no cooked English, so you're out of luck if that's what you're hoping for. Free coffee machine is available at all hours in the restaurant. The dinner menu left much to be desired with only a handful of dishes on offer. The restaurant is also not open on Sundays for dinner service. We were offered vouchers for the value of our meal and ate at the neighbouring Novotel.

Amazing place to stay. Very chilled atmosphere and breakfast was amazing. The service at breakfast honestly makes the food taste better. The rooms are big enough with a TV and great linen. Our nephews stayed in the attached room which was brilliant and what more do you need. Great showers.

Nice hotel The underground stations are only 1km away from there a good walking distance to the bus stops are only 50m away.

Being in London and not having breakfast a good full English breakfast is not excused. And the hotel does not serve it.

Lovely hotel, stayed for a business trip. The hotel has great musical themed decor throughout the hotel and bedrooms. The breakfast was continental style but had a nice variety of items.

Fantastic place to stay! We spent our 2 week honeymoon here and the staff, breakfast, evening restaurant, maid service and location are all 5 star! We will definitely be staying here again! Also, the decor theme is just adorable and welcoming!

Amazing stay!, the decoration of the hotel spectacular with its theme on the seventh art is very achieved, but above all we must highlight the professionalism of each and every one of the workers of this hotel who have made us feel as if we were the only guests staying in the establishment. The rooms are very cozy, modern, practical and simple (if you are looking for a super luxurious hotel this is not… go to the Hilton) is not necessary to rest very well, breakfast is quite complete, buffet type if you can highlight your pastries (croissants are of death) Jejeje.
As a conclusion every time we return to London this will be our hotel. We recommend it!

Very impressed with the friendly and professional way all the hotel staff responded to my requirements yesterday when I ran a training workshop there. Their attention to detail and support throughout the day made a real difference to the event. Outstanding service. Excellent venue. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately due to building works finding the hotel was a little confusing on arrival, no visible signage to show the hotel was there however we got there in the end! On arrival was greeted by a beautiful lounge area, the reception wasn't blatantly obvious on its where abouts and the staff did not stand out. That being said, the staff members on duty negated this aspect altogether once they grabbed my attention (was too busy awing at the decorations, seriously whoever decorated needs a raise 10/10) attentive, interested and so happy! Just a few key words that will accurately describe the staff, so well mannered, polite and well meaning. They even went out of their way to help me order food one night (it was late and we struggled to find a take out, 0 area knowledge on my behalf unfortunately). Rooms were fantastically decorated, bathrooms needed an extractor for the shower, and the mirrors needed a dry polish instead of a wet one (streaks). The kettle provided with the room wasn't very clean, I had to clean limescale off the filter and give the inside a wash out. Breakfast was a little lack lustre for me however, which was quite a let down, again staff, nice as pie, can't fault them perfect service. Just would've liked a cooked breakfast rather than a continental styled one.

The employees were all super friendly. Hotel/Design Very nice. Only downside was the sofa-bed a little cramped for our 2 daughters.

Great ambience and concept — I enjoyed it. Like the fact that there is no front office and everything is done through a mobile device. The breakfast was nice as well, coffee was great. Staff had the right attitude — friendly, almost playful, not stuck-up. Where I see an opportunity to improve is A) the temperature of the room was too warm when I entered, and the air was stale. I am also not the fan of those ball-shaped lamps in the breakfast area — every two minutes someone bumped their head on to them. Other than that I had a great time — thank you.

Good under all points of view, only sin a dinner with rice, chicken and tomato with too much chilli.

I can't fault anything really helpful staff who were really friendly. The style of the hotel was Superb, and our view from our room was unreal a great view of the shard. We can't wait to come back many thanks.

Comfortable room with interesting decor. Staff were helpful and friendly. Cleaner came very late in the day to our room (5pm) and didn't do much other than make the beds and change the towels. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh.

We loved every minute at this fabulous hotel, from the moment that we stepped in the revolving door. Walking into the reception area was like walking into an old style theatre, amazing decor. The staff were young fresh and so helpful to us. Breakfast, everything one could wish for. Room clean and quiet with funky decor. We loved every minute of our one week stay. Look for the amazing ladies that are always in the lift!

We spent five days in this hotel. The rooms are very clean and there is a lot of room. Young and kind boys. The breakfast is not up to the hotel. There are no hot food, only DIY toast, hard-boiled eggs (cold) no bacon or typical London foods. Too bad.

The only downside is the carpet in the room and the lack of a major Italian channel: If you receive a couple of them but they are secondary and of little interest.

Always been a fan of all the Ibis hotels but this is the first one of their 'Styles' range that I've been too and I am extremely happy to have made that decision. You can expect their usual high level of service, cleanliness and attention to detail but with a unique twist. This one has a heavily film influence throughout the building and into the rooms and decor. This may sound tacky but I can assure you it's not. Very pleasing to see something different and with some serious thought gone into it. Highly recommended.

A 2-minute walk from Borough Market (not to be missed), The Shard, London Bridge station (metro line and train station for Gatwick Airport)!

Clean, fresh, attentive staff and quiet at night. Plenty for breakfast and location suited our tourist needs too.

Pleasantly surprised, clean modern style hotel, decent sized room, free Wi-Fi, good complimentary breakfast provided too. Could only really fault the bed which was very creaky, could do with investing in more comfortable new beds. Good location, walking distance to Cheapside and Borough (which is the closer tube too, not Southwark)

The rooms are large enough for a couple. The breakfast is the same everyday. All in all this hotel is a good value for money.

We have had the best 2 nights staying at the Ibis Southwark Rose Hotel. Alex, the manager was amazing and couldn't have made our stay any better. Totally attentive and he remembered our names as he was walking through the breakfast room. The rooms, whilst not large were clean and very comfortable and we had a fab view of the Shard from our bedroom window. We will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here whilst attending a conference over the bridge in Old Billingsgate. This is the second year I have used this hotel for the same event and sadly must report it has gone downhill significantly. The beds seem to have been replaced with plywood and what I can only imagine would be considered a substandard mattress in a prison. The bed creaks and bends as you move making it impossible to get comfortable. The bathrooms are small and dingy. This hotel also seems to have gained an awful eggy smell in reception. I certainly won't be staying here next year.

Standard Rooms are too small you really have to try hard to find a place to put your luggage. Hopefully the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here last week. Room right next to extractor fan, came and switched it off about 1AM, came back on at 3AM. Couldn't move me to another room because they were fully booked. Offered me a free nights stay the following evening which was pointless. Poor customer service, terrible hotel. Complete waste of money.

Excellent hotel with friendly, efficient staff. Ideal location and our room even had a superb view of The Shard building. Breakfast was great too. We had a fantastic time here.

Was with my wife from 12-16 April 2013 at the Ibis hotel. The premises have very helpful, missing only a bath! One evening, we enjoyed dinner in the hotel itself. I had fish and chips, the fish was really excellent! Can the hotel only recommend!

I also stayed at the novatel next door, novatel was nicer, but I think we stayed at ibis cause it was cheaper. Basic basic basic. Continental breakfast incl, was cereal, slice delis and bread, fruit salad, yogurts and cheeses. Drain was clogged in shower but they cleared it up the same day. Washroom felt a little gross and bed was worn in.

Great place to stay for a business or leisure trip in London. It is a 5 minute walk to London Bridge tube station so that is very central. Rooms are comfortable and free Wi-Fi is provided. Continental breakfast is good but the restaurant is a bit too expensive.

Very friendly staff, clean and modernly decorated rooms, expanded continental breakfast and decent prices in bar and restaurant. I would stay here again when visiting again. Only the room rates are somewhat expensive, which is probably normal for London.

This is an average hotel. The rooms are quite small, but they are comfortable. The free breakfast is served for a long period (6:30-10:00, 7-11 on weekends). Don't expect much more than a simple continental breakfast. Wi-Fi is free and included in the room rate but I found it to be unreliable and slow. Staff is friendly although they do not do special requests such as early breakfast (before 6).

The good things about this hotel: Location, location, location. The ok things about this hotel (things I consider normal) : Free wireless internet, cozy bar, clean, proper and functional (bath) rooms. The bad things about this hotel: The price! OMG! It's a good thing the company paid for my stay. (And maybe, if you are not a city person, you might loose some sleep due to ambulance sirens at night, since there is a hospital nearby. ).

With the bad comments it had received from hotels in London, she was scared. But Southwark Rose Hotel surpassed expectations Note: clean, well connected — even to kick your London walk-, good service of the staff and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
