Reviews of Red Roof Inn & Conference Center Lubbock 2*
Man listen I see all these negative reviews about the roof lemme tell you ima dog at the roof that’s my place mayne if you get stoned and bored there’s entertainment just across the way you can watch crackheads steal cars and bikes and buy chunks of soap from each other or if you like to get lit and paranoid there’s plenty of police activity and presence in the area I’m sure you’ll find a way to keep busy til day light comes as far as the red stains on the mattresses and linens well just tell yourself it wasn’t a murder scene and hope to hell it’s not menstrual either. I’ve trapped out the roof so many times they basically paid my phone bill for a week. And the 3rd floor oh that’s where it’s at notice the bicycles riding thru the hallway? The girl moaning at the end of the hallway all night? Well they’re cops and she’s a hooker with a nice mouth piece just not sure what the itching sensation is from but hell for 10$ I’ll go back.
The entire place is horrible. The only good thing about this place is a desk clerk named Melanie. She deserves a raise and a promotion. This place is literally falling down around itself. Holes in walls, sticky floors, stains everywhere, blood stains on sheets, no fire alarms in rooms, trash piling up and staying there for days just to name a few. The so called manager on duty needs to learn guest relations. She went out of her way to make me feel like a piece of trash that cluttered the hall ways there. She literally in one day hurt my small business. I was traveling for work and I lost out on the possibility of at least 30 sales in the time I had to spend on the phone with booking, the hotel and corporate all because of her. I also just possibly worked all weekend for free because of her and still won't have enough to cover what she did. Instead of allowing me to pay with a different card at site she changed my card over 10 times. So what should of been a money making weekend at a comic con turned into my worse nightmare. I know I possibly lost out on 200+ dollars in sales and now my card funds. I hope you are happy Jay, Jade Karey whatever your name is. Thank you for ruining my birthday thank you for damaging my small business. You need to learn to listen.
The rooms were dirty the beds had hairs inside sheets. The restroom was disgusting 🤮 ac didn’t work at all in most of the rooms! There were blood stains on the walls also on the elevator doors. The entire place stinks and let’s not talk about the main sweet when they showed us that pace we were in shocked 😳 it was way worse they had people staying there without even knowing! They should shout this place down soon.
This place has potential and the manager is very nice, but the place itself is awful. The elevator does not work so you have to lug your bags up 2 flights of stairs and instead of moving me to a side of the hotel that is functional they just shrugged their shoulders. This is unacceptable. I will never stay here again.
Charged me twice. $175 + 50$ deposit for a ONE NIGHT STAY. The room was dirty and curtains had blood on it. Someones dog was barking nonstop at all hours of the day and nothing got done about it.
Very nice hotel, fresh air, great service, love the fact pets stay free! love the rainforest theme. The beds were comfy and overall very relaxing. We are owner operators truck drivers we have seen our share of hotels. We definitely recommend this one. Put this one on the maps to remember to stay at again. David the night supervisor was very nice and we appreciated his hospitality. Again thank you for being a 5 star hotel in our eyes.
This will be the last time we stay here. Our room is way in a corner our shower is handicapped. We asked for 2 rooms next to each other and we are all the way down the hall. So done with this place.
The building is somewhat dated. The rooms are clean and of a good size. Air conditioner worker well. Nice indoor pool area. Main complaints are that the mattress was too hard. Woke up 2-3 rimes in the night as my joints were aching. Also, the TV screen was snowy. Had a HBO movie schedule, but could not find it on any of the channels.
Came for Raider Orientation. Check in was swift and easy. Room was reasonable. The third floor could use some paint for touching up worn areas. Had to call front desk for a TV remote which they brought to me. The breakfast suited me fine — biscuits and gravy, waffles, coffee, juice. Easy check out with emailed receipt.
For the price I shouldn't complain. But since management asked… The beds were so clean and comfortable, the rooms were not dated, however the bathroom needed work. The tub drained really slow and it just felt old. The pool was cloudy and there was a dirty diaper laying on the pool deck. Hotel guests were smoking just outside the entrance so we had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get into the hotel. I suggest designated smoking areas away from the entrance. We weren't able to experience breakfast since the employee didn't show up to set up breakfast. We had to get back on the road so we didn't have time to wait for someone else to set it up. The front desk staff was friendly and were really enjoyed the Koi pond.
We were there for Graduation. So we booked a pet friendly hotel. Knowing it was an older hotel I wast expecting it to be the Ritz but I was expecting to have clean rooms. We found a dirty sock in one room and a mouse appeared in the other. Their staff were very nice they were very accommodating. Need to be updated but good location.
Clean rooms. Beds were comfortable. For Red Roof Inn the breakfast was great. If you are truck driver they don't actually have semi truck parking. But they do have a couple places that you can park. And always a plus it's pet friendly.
What makes this hotel worth staying at is by far and away the attentive and genuine caring nature of the staff. I stayed several years ago and wouldn't have had the same opinion then. I heard they were Under New Management and actually met him personally, I have never been in a property, high end all the way down to Motel 6 that have ever made me feel so genuinely welcomed and concerned for my my needs as a guest or even just personally. The hotel itself is less than well maintained, but for the $65 I paid to stay there, the staff more than made up for the dated condition of the property itself. I come to Lubbock more than 15 or 20 nights a year and will never stay anywhere else.
The property is dated, but the entire staff was the most helpful and polite Hotel staff you can imagine. I stayed for a week and everyone from housekeeping two front desk to management would always go out of their way and go above and beyond to take care of anything I needed. They also have the biggest indoor pool I think I've ever seen at a hotel. Found out from the general manager that the pool itself is like a hundred and twenty-five thousand gallons and they also have a large hot tub… They could definitely use a remodel, but you can't pay enough for a staff like the one at this particular property. I am definitely making this my go to hotel when I'm in Lubbock.
Id's been recently renovated but they missed some places. Our bathroom had a hole in the ceiling and a broken hair dryer. You could see that a lot of the curtains had holes in them. I got the room for a great deal though and it was the best hotel I stayed at during this long road trip.
Ww love this hotel and stay every time we come to Lubbock which is twice a month. Price is excellent for the quality. Its clean comfortable beds and pillows. My kids love it. The pool area is huge and also has a spa and hot tub.
I booked a room online, showed up and my room was sold out. After waiting for an hour they get me into a room that had burn holes in comforter in a non smoking room, sheets had black and red stains all over, no towels, kids were in the pool the whole entire stay so adults could not enjoy the hot tub. No garden tubs available, very dirty rooms, lobby and a broken tie rod sticking out of the ground in the parking lot. Very unhappy with service. I also had to go to the hospital after slipping in their shower and the staff offered me no help all. I cut my eye open and was bleeding profusely, and the staff just stared at me like I was stupid. Couldn't even offer to call an ambulance or ask of I needed help. They offered me a 20 dollar discount and then debited my account for twenty dollars! I hate this place and will never stay their again!
Floors were so dirty our feet stuck to them. Had to wear our shoes. Front desk polite, but not very helpful. Asked for Kleenex, they couldn't find any. The next day housekeeping was very helpful. Found Kleenex, got us more towels. Very pleasant lady. Probably find different hotel next time we are here from Michigan.
Going to be brutally honest; not great but fair. Stayed there during St Patty weekend 2018. The service was very good; the employees were very nice and friendly so major kudos to them. For them, I give 4 stars. Why did I give 2 stars then? Ownership — I blame you. This hotel could have been so much more. You have an indoor pool, hot tub (didn't work), and a sauna. The layout has amazing potential! Put some freaking money back into this place. Seriously, YOU are you blame for cutting corners everywhere you look. Hell, give me the money, and I'll put more pride into it than what you just displayed to me this past week. Pure laziness. The employees deserve to have more pride in their employer than this. YOU caused this low star, not them. Shame is all I can say. Once again, to the front lines, kudos to you. I loved that everyone said hi as we walked by, and you all were very courteous.
Whenever I come through Lubbock this red roof inn is my favorite place to rest and relax with my family. I'm familiar with Lubbock so getting to all ends of town are easy and convenient. The price I get the rooms for are a great deal to me. Granted it's a older establishment but I get a at home feeling whenever we're here. People's reviews on here to me are minor and are a quick fix for management. The rooms have been very clean. We feel comfortable and safe. My best advice is to check out the Inn for yourself and not go according to a review completely.
The room was Ok until we heard the dog on the next room crying and barking. The hot tub was not working and the water that was in it was nasty. The water in the pool was dirty. The bathroom was not properly cleaned. Found a razor cover in the tub when showering. We complained about the dog and was told the people lived there and there wasn't anything they could do. When we complained again they said they would move us to another room when someone who knew how to change it came back. We waited almost an hour and still not moved. We left and got a room at another motel. We will NEVER stay there again.
Where to begin. Pulling up to the inn was nice, parking was a tad sketchy but no major complaints. Entering the premises we were assailed with laughter of many children and the splashing of water from the pool located right in the middle of the main lobby. A quick glance at the pool and I noticed it was a questionable shade of green, by my estimation probably around 73% urine. (We didn't swim) half of the staff at registration was attentive, the other half seemed to be coming down off of a decent high. The attentive half however was impossible to hear but we were able to make out that the room we had reserved was not in fact the room we had reserved. The room we apparently had reserved was thoroughly disgusting. Stains blankets, sticky floors, and hand prints on the head board. No ventilation, but at least the TV worked. A brief expedition down to the "sports bar" was another disappointment. 2 drinks were $25, which in a nicer place would have been acceptable but not here… oh no, not here. Long story short the only reason we stayed was because the rest of town seemed to be all booked up (We called many hotels). It's getting one star because we didn't get raped or robbed during our stay, but for the $62 we spent I would expect just a little bit more. Do not recommend, will not be returning.
This place was disgusting. We checkin in late the first night and found water still in the bath tub and floss on the ground. Called front desk but all the cleaning crew were gone. The man working tried to be helpful and move us to another room which was actually in the system as needing cleaned but he checked it and said he thought that was an error. Went to that room to find a towel hanging over bathroom door and a messy bed. Opted out and asked to just have our room cleaned in the morning and to leave a note. No note was left so had to explain to the morning person what was happening. There were dark brown spots above one bed only and after wondering if it was blood splatter asked to change rooms. They said yes. Came back hours later to find out they just cleaned the room but hadn't changed rooms and couldn't do anything about the ceiling. I already slept under potential blood splatter one night so I asked again to change room. This room had pubes on the bed and bathtub. Asked for another room because-yuck. Finally moved to a room with a disgusting bathroom but the beds seemed cleaned so we stayed in that room. Would have went elsewhere but all the other hotels had been booked. So disappointing and gross. I just didn't shower while there because it was honestly grosser thinking about getting in the shower then not. Cringe.
We traveled to Lubbock for a memorial service and stayed at this location. We were traveling with our two dogs so it was important that this hotel offered pet stay. The room was clean and didn't have a unpleasant odor, always a plus. The bed was king and comfy. There is a continental breakfast with several good options. We had a quick visit but the price was right and the furry babies were welcome. We will stay here again if ever back in Lubbock.
Manager on duty said a 50$ cash deposit. I didn't have cash so he asked to charge my credit card 50$ for incidentals saying it would be returned upon check out. I travel all over the country and have stayed in hundreds of hotels and have never been asked to charge the card. Maybe make a copy or keep it on file but never a charge. With all that said I told him that was alright as long as it goes in tomorrow not 3 days later. He said he could not make any guarantee's and suggested I stay somewhere else. Piss poor customer service. I stayed at the same hotel 6 months ago and was not charged 50$. Went. 2 miles up the road and got a room cheaper and better quality.
This place is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been in. For starters I felt more dirty getting out of the shower than when I went in. The hot tub is down, so don’t let the nice pictures fool you. The staff… well let’s just say they are idiots! They aloud drunks to scream through the halls all night. And to top off the horrible stay, I found roaches in the bathroom. They live in the giant hole in the wall. After shaking everything out before packing my things I still find a roach that made the trip back home with me. There are piles of dirt that took years to collect bc they don’t clean! My room floors were sticky and the table by the bed had some unmentionable sticky substance on it… most disgusting place I’ve ever been in! Save your money and sleep in your car, you’ll sleep better, safer and cleaner!
Breakfast was average. I was there 4 nights and the room only got serviced once. I had to go to the front desk and get extra towels. The staff all seemed nice and polite. I killed a 1/2" German roach in the bathroom. It is an old hotel. It needs a serious makeover. Easy access on and off the highway. For $85+ a night I will look a lot harder for a room someplace else.
This the first and the last time we stay here. Rooms are filthy and do not smell clean at all. A couch in the room is so dirty hated to sit on it. The curtains were spattered with paint like they had painted but didn't remove them. The elevator needs a good scrubbing. We pay good money for this? SAID to say we didn't enjoy our stay.
The reviews online were not all great, some are absolutely awful, and had me very leery of this hotel, but I stayed as a guest anyway and decided to see for myself. I got a really good deal and for the area this hotel has a great price. Honestly, the hotel is fine — its older sure, but it was clean, safe and roomy. The hallways smelled a little, like musty or just off, maybe sour… Maybe they could deep clean the carpets to freshen it. But that's the only complaint I would have as far as cleanliness. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and it was nice having the fridge and microwave. The bathroom was older, not updated, but was clean and the shower head had an awesome jet massage setting that was powerful and felt great after a long day of travel. I completely didn't mind that the older tiled ceilings in the shower were super low and it felt small, because that jet setting was worth it! The indoor pool is big and clean. But there is a lot of echo noise from the kids since the pool is indoors and my room was on the ground floor near right by the busy end. I was a little worried that it was loud, but at 9:45 it was quiet immediately and I didn't hear any more noise that night or the next morning. And the next morning they offered a breakfast spread in a dining room area. Waffles, biscuits, muffins, apples, cereal, oatmeal, breads. They had eggs too, but yeah. The were buffet scrambled eggs so probably a mix or something, not the best.
The room itself was very nice, decent sized tub, coffee maker, Wi-Fi had good speeds, comfortable beds, and clean. However, the staff at the desk were unprofessional. There were several people with reservation issues and the staff was less than helpful. It's not in a good part of town and there were homeless people hanging out outside and people who appeared to be drug dealers as well. I question the safety of the place. So, if you don't mind those negatives you can get a nice room for a good price.
Poor management, poor personell attitudes. Except the breakfast department was perfect! Maids were horrible.
The lobby reeked of cigarette smoke, and the bar had a live band that was playing ear-splitting music that I could hear and feel from the lobby. The desk clerk said the band would be playing till 2 AM. I didn't even bother staying here — there were far too many warning signs that the stay was going to be mind-blowingly awful.
I stay here several times a year. This is an older property but maintained. Rooms always clean with comfortable beds and good A/C. Complimentary breakfast, cold cereal, waffles, juices, coffee, breads and bagels for toasting, typical continental breakfast. Indoor pool with Jacuzzi and a cocktail bar. Very quiet location that's pet friendly.
The hotel is disgusting I do not recommend people to stay there especially with kids. The floor was dirty and I had stepped on something that cut my foot from the bottom, my mom found two cockroaches in the hotel restroom, and I found a bedbug on my daughters kneck. Very disappointed!
The room was very good quality room. Very clean. The breakfast was decent. I dont know if the menu gets changed since both times I went down, they served sausage and biscuits. The make your own waffles were great though. The staff was very nice and polite. I would defintely stay here again if I waa ever in the area again.
I got a great price online for this hotel. This was one of the most economical hotel I could find and from my previous experience, red roof inn has always been good quality hotel… That is before today. The room was ok, it was clean, and everything inside the room was functional; however, the building needs a lot of work. All the curtains look extremely dirty from the outside. The building needs remodeling. It looks very wear down. The elevator is very old, and the floors need some recarpeting. I don't think I'll be staying in this hotel again. If you're looking for something economic and don't care too much about visual quality, this hotel does the job.
Atmosphere when you walk in very out dated. The whole common area/courtyard, has an over welming odor of chlorine. Floors are dirty, sofas and chairs are stained. Out room was not to clean, had a musty order. There was food left in the fridge from the people before us, or, before them. The sheets looked clean at first but then I looked closer, and there was hair all over the fitted sheet. Looks like they were not changed. Some of the staff was sort of rude, not customer service friendly. I seriously don't think we will be staying here again and would certainly not recommend to anyone.
I have stayed at this particular property on five or six occasions. I always find the people very nice, and the facility is charming. It's big, and so I realize that upkeep can be daunting, but they have made a lot of improvement since the last time I was there, and the place is still getting a lot of TLC. For the money, I found it to be a great value. It's not impeccably detailed, nor beautifully appointed, but it is nice, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. The pool and the common area are inviting, and were clean and comfortable when I was there. The breakfast is generous, and in a really nice facility. All in all, this is a go to for me when I am there. I've never had an issue that the staff did not address immediately, and as I mentioned, the room is clean comfortable and functional. They have been working very hard on this property, and it shows. I can't wait to see the improvements the next time I am there as well.
Red Roof is an affordable hotel. It's a bit humid and muggy inside due to the pool being indoors. That being said the Staff is really great. They are kind, helpful and sweet.
It is an okay place. Older building and it appears they are renovating it in sections. The hallway to room was rough looking but the room it's self was brand new. Pool was awesome with a real deep end. Would definitely stay there again if ever in that area.
I will definitely go back! At first I wasn't sure if I would due to the girl at front dest was very rude just because it was time for her to go home but after addressing the issue with other staff members everything was done to make my stay pleasant. They staff was very pleasing! Alexandra kept their breakfast area was kept very clean. She was extremely pleasant & I enjoyed my stay there.
The entrance of the hotel is off of a loop that if you miss, you have to circle back around in a 5 or so minute detour. There is ample parking in the front and somewhat limited parking in the back. A bar is also nearby but does not share space with the hotel. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming. They are very helpful even when it comes to the little things. The rooms overall are very nice and appealing. It is very important to check to see if the bed sheets are cleaned as it is a pet friendly hotel. There is an odor that hangs through the main areas (such as the lobby and hallways). Walking around, you can see how stained most of the curtains are and their lack of cleaning or proper replacement. Although it appears very nice overall, once you spend some time there, you will notice the finer details of how poorly it is maintained. From covers not being in the door hinges to paint that looks like it is peeling. The indoor pool was nice and cool but the hot tub was lukewarm at best. The controls for the hottub were broken along with the water being murky. I have no benchmark for the sauna but felt as though it could have been more evenly heated. I did not eat breakfast or have any room service.
DO NOT STAY HERE! We arrived really late Friday night 4/29/16, checked in and made our way to our room I'm not sure if they were doing a renovation of the building but it was a mess. Walked into our room and noticed that the bed covers had stains, floors weren't clean, and a DEAD MICE laying on the floor next to the heater. UGH, I'm just glad I didn't let my kids get off the bed >: (we just grabbed our stuff and left the room. Told the clerk about it, she just said oh okay. No even a single i'm sorry. Disgusting…
The moment we drove up to the building we knew we were in for an experience. About half of the curtains that went around the building were broken and missing. Being inside, it felt like we were still outside, there was a terrible breeze, as thought there were no windows. Walking down the hallway to the room, there was paint peeling. Upon entering the room, the sheets were stained, and the toiled looked like it had just been used. We looked outside and saw the pool, it was so murky, as we looked we noticed a child swimming; we couldn't see below her shoulders, much less the bottom of the pool. We decided to leave right away and said screw the money. All in all we spent no more than 20 min inside. On the plus side, they had Koi fish in the pond! So if you must go there, walk in sniff the air, see the fish, and exchange some mean looks with the staff, and then leave. *Don't be fooled by the pics as we were, they are definitely out dated.
1st room smelled like a sewer and then natural gas. 2nd room had dried vomit on the ac unit. I'm now in my 3rd room. The elevator is out of order and there is construction going on. I can barely take the stairs due to physical limitations but there is no other way out. Very disappointed with this hotel.
This hotel is so full of terrifying noises — you can hearing the water flowing throughout all the plumbing in the entire hotel. But there are also screams, laughter, LOUD banging and scraping and door slamming sounds… I'm lying awake here, honestly creeped out and I have to think the other reviewers must be right about there being something VERY fishy going on at this place. Prostitution or trafficking or something. It truly is like taking a plunge back in time to the 50s. However, our room is not dirty. And the staff seemed harshly over worked, with nearly useless equipment to work with, so I can understand why they might be prone to snapping at the lines of unhappy guests that they have to deal with. This place would be more understandable at 30$ a night, but for 65$, I have no idea how the management could charge someone that much for this. Sadly, all the other decent hotels were booked on this Friday night, despite no serious Tech events going on. Why on earth has some not built more hotels in this forsaken excuse for a city, what with the massive Tech events and all? I'd say I was shocked by this particular Red Roof Inn, but it is in Lubbock after all, so I guess I should be grateful that at least I probably won't be infected with any diseases by staying here and I also have not been assaulted or anything — at least not yet.
Great breakfast and very good very complete chain.
Do not stay here. Other Red Roof Inns have been excellent, but this one is trash. First of all, the Wi-Fi didn't even reach our room so I used my data. The hallways smell like smoke, the hot tub doesn't work, and the lady at the front desk was rude like she didn't want to deal with people checking in. The room was okay except for a bunch of long hairs all over the sheets, as if they didn't clean them. Do not stay in this rat hole! Worth maybe $25 a night.
I checked into this hotel on a Friday evening. There was a new girl at the front desk who was rude. The other attendent Candy @ (707) was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisified. From giving me and extra blanket to trying to fix my internet issues. She provided excellent customer service along with Ray Cortez (maintance). Ray exchanged out my frig because the exsisting one was not working properly. He was very understanding and worked hard to meet my needs. Thank you so much for your service I appreciate all your hard work. It is a shame the hotel is substandard and needs a lot of work the pictures on the internet are pristine maybe those are from 30yrs ago! Todays Red Roof Inn leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth with drug deals happenning in the parking and weed smell in the hallways makes me concerned for my own safety. You can see they are in the middle of a renovation so I would opt for booking when that is completed, hopefully the calibar of guest will change. As for the rooms they are ok with built in flat screens and high head boards but they pale in comparison to the mold growing around the windows.
I wouldnt even give it one star if didn't have to. I asked that house keepers stayed out of room but they went in anyways and didn't clean anything but THEY STOLE FROM ME! HORRIBLE HOTEL DO NOT STAY THERE!
Just an old building, so the construction and painting are necessary. Rooms pass noise easily so loud TVs can be heard down the hallway. The place is cheap in price and you do get what you pay for. If you just want a bed, pool and a bar. Then I can recommend this place but if want more amenities, quiet and just overall better quality then go somewhere else. Summary: a bed and shower for cheap loud and unnerving.
Olivia is telling the TOTAL TRUTH about this place. From workers being related to them stsying here to the possible sex acts going on. Customer service is horrible. First of all the GIRL at the front desk lied about my reservation. I had booked in advance and she said was not there, then lied about the number of days I reserved. They gave me room 202, air conditioner didn't work and room located near stairs, where I heard doors slamming ALL night long. Then as I'd it was bad enough the house keeper clean the two rooms next to me from 9 till 6 how does it take that long to clean 3 rooms that includes the one across. She slammed doors and knocked around the whole time. So sleep I did not get. When I asked for another room I was told didn't have a clean one to put me in. Lol… I will be making a formal complaint to main office. Breakfast was cold and who serves eggs and biscuit with no meat. Don't let them put you in 202 or any room close to it better yet don't stay here.
After 3 days of driving to Texas, my family member and I stupidly stayed here. It was a nightmare. First thing I noticed when I stepped into the hotel was that it was very hot, and very run down. When I got into the actual hotel room there was dust and dirt everywhere. I don't think anyone cleans the rooms or the bathrooms. There was something that looked like feces on the shower curtain. I opened up the bed and there was a blood stain on my sheet. I uploaded the photo of it on Yelp. The a/c unit didn't work either. Also, I don't think this hotel has many actual guests. I think families work there and get to live there in return. They were very loud ALL NIGHT, and very inconsiderate of the actual guests. I also heard some sketchy yelling and noises, which leads me to believe there is prostitution/sex trafficking going on in this place. Also, there was a brown recluse spider on my toothbrush. It was pretty horrifying considering I brought a pet, and he could have been hurt by it… BUT HERE'S THE GOOD PART. We decided to suffer through the night at this hotel and managed to stay out the horror moving looking hallways and just watch Netflix. I fell asleep, when at 1 in the morning, an old lady tried getting into my room, and I could hear her asking why she couldn't get in (Why is someone checking into a hotel at 1am? ). Luckily, I locked the door so she couldn't open it the entire way.
Excellent customer service… McKenzie looks 15 but very intelligent adult. She is sweet to everyone… Danny does maintenance any thing needs fixing he's on it. I actually had my wife complain to me about a little static on the TV and they gave me a better room with no questions and said sorry. It wasn't a big deal to us but they went out of their way to be sure we were happy. Big inside pool with atrium. 40 foot ceilings. Huge pool clean with family based environment. Five stars…
I was terrified walking into this hotel. No air conditioning, all doors and windows were open to outside. The staff wasn't rude he just had no excuse for how bad it is. All smoking room.
It was very humid but is being remodeled. I'd beware of Stacy and if possible work with a different clerk. Keisha was great, we had a mix up and she got it taken care of. I think as soon as the remodeling is done it will be a better place to stay, the attached bar was pretty cool.
This place is a nasty gross dump. Needs to be condemned. Maids do a horrible job If they bother to attempt to clean at all. Better off staying in your vehicle. Doesn't even deserve a rating of one star.
Im a traveling salesmen and I stayed at some bad places before but this one takes the cake. We had bed bugs, spiders, mold, theft, smells like smoke, cops are in and out all the time, some of the staff are xcons, the hot tub is gross, DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE.
Do not come here! holy crap. Staff was rude and couldn't activate key cards right. Been here for a few weeks, bed bugs, lazy thieving maids, cop raids, cop stakeouts, drug trafficking, the rooms have no ventilation, therefor smelling like sh*t. Made a Nick name for the hottub, POOP SOUP! Sauna barely works, breakfast tastes like cardboard every morning. I wouldn't feed that stuff to my dogs. We finally left when we found out that there is a Brown Recluse nest and one of my friends was bit and rushed to the ER. The List goes on! Oh, and let's also mention that they still have Tvs from the 90's that hardly work! but hey the laundrey was cheap.
Every room has bed bugs. 2 of the positive reviews are employees that I can definitively identify, my guess every positive review is. I travel the world this is the most disgusting hotel in the entire world. I have stayed in roadside motels in Mexico that are cleaner, there is Not a single Hostel in Europe dirtier.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Nasty nasty nasty. I'm not high maintenance but this was the worst accommodations I've ever experienced in my travels. The entire place smelled like smoke, there were open wires hanging free in the elevator. The air conditioning units were all brown. Strange people staring at you from the lobby. Hallways to the room reminded you of something out of a horror movie. Then, the room. Don't think it's ever been cleaned. Ever. The sheets had a blood stain on it! The sheets on the other bed were dingy as if they didn't wash them between guests. Hair everywhere. Used tissue was in the corner next to a beer cap. Corn kernels were strewn on the floor. The phone was FILTHY. Stains of who knows what running down the walls. The frame of the door had peeled off and was missing. The inside of the microwave had food stains. The carpet was bubbling up in places that could easily be tripped over. The staff seemed unsurprised when we complained and wanted a refund after spending 30 minutes in the hellhole. I wanted to take a bleach bath after leaving. I'm hoping we didn't catch anything that Clorox can't take care of.
Do not stay here. There was a shoot out a week earlier. Our friend's car was broken into, and people were arrested for drug dealing in a matter of two days. There's absolutely no maid service. Our beds were made once. We had to call in for new towels. The floors are absolutely disgusting. You will regret staying here despite the low price. Trust me. Pay a little more to go somewhere else.
I usually don't leave reviews, positive or negative, but I feel a warning is in order. I knew that a typical Red Roof Inn is a "no frills" business, but the staff is usually helpful and the rooms clean. In this case, I went in with VERY modest expectations, and was completely dissatisfied. The rooms were dirty, with the indoor pool not having been venting properly and having over time causing the entire facility, from hallway to room, to smell of mildew and damp. The phone did not work in the room. Run.
Checked in at about 3pm. Checked out at 430pm. Got the double non smoking room. Wifi and cable were all out. Pool: Cloudy. Not just chlorine cloudy but instead was thick pulpy lemonade cloudy and quantative amounts of dirt and debris at the bottom. Smell: As soon as you walk in you can immediately smell the smoke mixed with cheap human trash smell. The Room: It didn't take long to spot the bedbugs. The smell was atrocious and the mattresses were falling apart. The furniture was extremely outdated and dingy. The last remodel didn't even help. All the wiring was run in metal conduit on the outside of the walls. When you have hookers walking around the hotel openly or the guy with the pit bull staring at you from a balcony while smoking what you can only assume is a blunt then you know its time to leave. There were several cop cars on stakeout of the facility as well. Other red roof inns are immaculate but what happened to this one. Its as if it is the hotel that was lost in time. And the ghetto. Can't forget the hookers.
The Red Roof Inn Conference Center in Lubbock, Texas has to be the worst hotel property that I have ever set foot in. It's filthy dirty (graffiti on the headboard, carpets not vacuumed, wallpaper peeling off), in disrepair (rotted wood outside, lights missing and falling off, blinds broken, black all over the windows where the curtains have stuck to them and been peeled off) and the staff is very rude! I knew I would be going to another hotel as soon as I pulled up. The curb appeal is atrocious! Red Roof Inn used to have a good reputation as far as I was concerned but not anymore. For Red Roof Inn to have their name on the sign of this property, it's unbelievable. This hotel has been neglected for way too long. Someone from corporate office needs to make a surprise appearance at this property. I took photos and every single person that I have showed them to consistently said: "Nasty! " I still cringe when I look at the pictures. I didn't even want to touch the front door to open it to enter the lobby. This hotel doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating.
Filthy, Filthy, Filthy! Paid $150+ per night because it was TT graduation weekend. My flight to Lubbock was delayed, I would have been better off had it been cancelled! There is not one square foot of clean carpet in this entire hotel. Room has not had a good cleaning in a long time. Dirt and grime in every corner of the room. Bugs and dirt in window, Old outdated furnishings, stained sheets, mold growing in bathroom. The Sports Bar attached to this hotel does not help either, their clientele is less than ideal. Saturday night a dog barked all night long down the hallway. The only high point to this stay was the breakfast they provided and the lady working the breakfast area, both were great. Better off sleeping in your car in a parking lot somewhere.
