The hotel is fine. Very clean and the staff is professional. My only qualm is the tile in the bathroom and entry way. It is super slick and worse when wet. I nearly slipped when I walked on it in my socks. I made sure to wipe up any water in the floor after my shower. I used the bath mat, but even a small amount of water made this floor dangerous.

One of the better hotels in the area. The breakfast is what tips the scale though. It's not cold cereal and a Danish. The holiday inn breakfast is an actual breakfast with eggs, omelettes and so much more.

The customer service at this place is horrible. I was given a room (119) with a Jacuzzi that smelled like mold & mildew. I called the front desk to request a room change and was told NO, the best we can do is put some STRONG DEODORIZERS to cover the stinky smells. I was floored with the lady's response and wanted to cry. Rooms were sold out in the area so I was subjected these unpleasant conditions my entire 2 day stay. Never ever again!

Hotel was great. Breakfast was fast and good. Clean room and easy check in and out.

This room was booked through work and, as such, they are a high tier member. Upon first entering, all looks clean and maintained. Checking in, they are out of water, etc. That they typically give due to status. No huge deal, I'm out a couple dollars to get my own. Never happens when I book my own Hilton brand hotels though. Rooms look newly renovated, but closer looks reveal they must not be clean thoroughly. Finger prints on the stainless toilet paper cover (nasty to think of the timing and location) plus many hairs under the bed covers. As a first time visitor, not saying this is normal and not saying look elsewhere, but definitely give your room a once over before unpacking.

I am unhappy with the service I received tonight. I tried to book a room, which gave me a certain price. When I submitted my reservation, the website had an error and redirected me to an error page. When I re-submitted my information, it gave me a different price (>$20 extra per night). So I called the service number. The automated operator could not recognize my voice (even though I spoke very clearly). I was redirected to a human operator who then told me I had to pay the higher price (even though she was very polite). Ultimately, it took me 3 times to explain the situation. Finally the operator called the hotel on my behalf and asked for them to reserve the room at the original price. They could not because a manager was not available. I was told to contact the hotel desk in the morning and ask for the price I was told tonight. After this, the operator told me she would direct me to another line to speak to someone else. But instead, the redirect failed and the phone line ended, which prevented me from filling out a customer survey. As a result of all of this, I booked a different hotel, and I seriously doubt I will stay at a Holiday Inn Express anytime soon. I can overlook some minor technical issues, but there were way too many for this transaction (from the website to multiple service call errors to the inability to get the price that was advertised).

I stayed at a Holiday inn Express last night… Always clean, always secure, always free breakfast.

Location is solid. Nearby food both local and chain. Room is clean and in good condition and bathroom is modern. The continental breakfast is diverse and delicious.

Hotel is beautiful on the inside. But a serious problem on the inside by the windows and at the air conditioner unit. But this is not the only hotel I've seen like this. Matter of fact we had a brand new comfort suites in our town that had the same problem with mold and water damage. But this is what happens when you use efis (Stucco) no hotel housing people should be built using stucco. It's not water proof. It's like a sponge and absorbs water. Causing dangerous mold. Or Stachybotrys mold which is deadly. But when we have people building these building. Who don't know nothing about construction and cut corners. With no experience. This is what's building America and we are getting sick from it. No quality. Reporting this to.

Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast isn't too bad; I'd stay here again.

Nice, clean and updated rooms. The ac unit is a little noisy but overall good and comfortable.

Mine and my families recent stay at this Holiday Inn has far surpassed our expectations. We checked in super late and the desk staff was very friendly, even at 3am. We also had interactions with the housekeeping staff, they were so pleasant and friendly. Also, breakfast was a winner. Cinnamon rolls, pancake maker, biscuit and gravy, sausage, bacon, and two types of omlets. Definitely give this place a try!

Rooms were neat and cleaned daily. Staff was very friendly and always helpful.

I had the best time there and the hospitality was incredible! I will be back thanks for making my home away from home.

They unsolicitedly approached me and gave me a card to come to their hotel instead while I was at a different hotel standing outside on the phone. Extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. I reported it to the hotel I was staying at they have reported it to the police for trespassing.

Very friendly staff. Terrific beds. Nice big clean room. Best value in this area.

Service has been great. Fresh breakfast every morning. Walking distance to many restaurants and stores. Pretty clean with a couple maintenance issues. Overall a great place to stay.

I love the cinnamon buns set breakfast. Comfy bed, easy check in.

I did not enjoy this stay.
1. My credit card was charged on the 14th, we arrived on the 16th (3 adults w/ one king and pull out sofa). When returning to our room from dinner, tired from a 6 hour trip, and 11 pm I discovered the pull out had to be made up. I had to go down to the service desk to get linen. The man just plops it in my arms. Oh, I'm sorry. You got your money and now I am a maid?
2. When making up the couch, I found Subway sandwich wrapper by the couch. We didn't eat Subway.
3. When folding up the mattress frame of pull out to get our suitcases out the door this morning, I discovered it was covered with mold or mildew… nasty.
4. The tv/dresser was very dusty.
5. The fan in the BR didn't work, so we had to run the blow dryer, just to clear the mirror. Then, the heat made us feel like we needed another shower. Not to mention the black stains in the back of the tub.
6. The toilet required multiple flushes and made an awful noise each time it was flushed. I was very disappointed in this stay. Especially, when one first sees the hotel, it appears quite lovely. Of course, when I checked out no one asked me if I enjoyed my stay. I will not stay at a Holiday Inn Express, especially in Sumter, SC, in the future. I would also suggest looking at the room before one rents. PS I did take pictures.

The cleaning staff was very pleasant anything that we asked for they supplied for us, Gave us extra towels and pillows. The front desk was very nice, they checked me and my fiance in very quickly greeted us as soon as we walked in. The room was very clean, the room was stocked accordingly. The bathroom is always the way to tell if the housekeeping staff cares, and it was exceptional. Breakfast was awesome. Loved the pancakes. Would absolutely stay again when in town. Hopefully longer then three days.

They do not change out all the bedding! They take the sheets and pillow cases but do not change the comforter I took it off and watched the cleaning lady put the same one back on! No not executable. How many people's sweat did I lay down on when I got there? I just found not changing all the bedding very nasty! I wouldn't stay again not at this one anyway. Not to mention the internet is so slow. The doors kept messing up not wanting to open with the key cards. Coffee maker in my room started leaking water out of the bottom. I was ready to go home. And someone took our clothes out of the washer and threw them in the trash.

My family came into town to attend the funeral of my father. Sherilyn, Valerie, and Josh welcomed us with warm smiles and excellent service. They made our stay comfortable. Thank you.

Visit at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sumter was okay. The room was clean however the internet was Week and often dropped signal. I was not greeted as my status unfortunately.

The staff was very helpful. The work out room was small with only 3 pieces of equipment. The room was very nice as well.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. All the things you need to make your stay enjoyable. Food and shopping nearby.

Hotel is clean and nice. I had no issues with check-in and the breakfast is pretty good. They have a pancake machine instead of a waffle machine if that makes any difference in your decision. I am happy with the room and would stay again.

Our soccer club is coming into town the weekend of April 11-13, 2014 for the SCYSA Kohl's Cup (State Cup tournament) and I am disgusted at the price gouging that your hotel is participating in. A king suite should NOT be going for $199.99/night. We are not going to be at a location such as Myrtle Beach or Charleston. Prices like that would be expected. Those areas don't even charge the prices that you are charging. Sumter is lucky to have the opportunity to host a statewide soccer tournament that will bring adequate revenue for your city. With rates like this you should be ashamed! You are taking advantage of families that have no other option but to stay in your hotel due to distances that they are coming from. Shame on you Holiday Inn Express! I hope that SCYSA pulls their soccer tournament from your community for this reason.
