If you’re coming to Sumter, spend a little more to stay somewhere else. The staff was nice, but clearly could care less about the cleanliness or operation of the hotel. As soon as you walk in your face is blasted by the smell of chlorine (expected from hotels with indoor pools). The room is musty and dirty (crumbs on the floor, fingerprints on the mirrors, hair stuck to the shower walls, dirty windows). The room is so musty that when I lay on the pillows, I can feel the moisture contact my skin. There were mold spots on the curtains above the a/c unit. Everything just seems to have a nasty film on it. The hotel has potential, but needs some serious work and attention from some real management. You will be disappointed if you stay here unless your expectations are very low.

This place was horrible. If I could give it zero "stars" I would. The linen had numerous small stains of something that looked like blood. The mattress pad/cover looked as though it was female menstruation dried up. The towels were dirty. The toilet bowl had ketchup underneath AFTER the Housekeeping staff "cleaned the room… I even noticed a housekeeping staff member dropping towels on the dirty bathroom floor and was going to put them back on the shelf (as if nothing happened) before I said something. And the Front Desk staff were nonchalant/didn't seem to care when I respectfully mentioned these issues… SAVE YOUR MONEY. I have zero reason to lie about anything of this.

It suffers from very poor management. Beds was soft, rooms appeared clean, but it said it had a hot tub, but they said it was closed chemicals off to many in it I guess. Breakfast was from 7-10. Went at 8. Little food, dirty tables they have groups of people here for the jump rope tournament and 60 kids had breakfast at 7, but only had 1 employee trying to keep up.

The hotel was okay the only thing that I did like was that their beds are comfortable.

We stayed their a few years ago and it was amazing I would have given 5 stars. Butthis last stay we had this past weekend Wasn't the greatest. The staff was nice but the bathroom was dirty. My daughter spilled water on the bathroom floor so I took the foot towel and cleaned it up and the towel was dirty after cleaning the floor. The tub had dirt spots on it. Also the drain plug broke and they didnt even fix it. They came to clean out room but only made up one of our beds not both. That made no sence. They also set our air to 80 so it was really hott in our room when we got back, which made our kids not happy at all. You also have to request new towels if you are staying longer than 3 days. They only give new towels after 3 days. The breakfast was so nasty. The shower head looked like it was about to break, and the water pressure sucked. Very disappointed with our stay.

I love the mini muffins. They're really good and the pool is super nice too. The beds are very comfortable.

It was okay. The beds were comfortable and linens and towels we're clean … but the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should be … Front desk and house cleaning was very nice. But I feel like if I'm staying in a hotel anywhere it should be cleaner.

I was very impress with the over all appearance of this hotel online. But be warned you're going to get what you pay for! First night we found hair from someone of another ethnic group and food crumbs in our bed. Day two we requested clean sheets and instead of getting clean ones got a note from the cleaning lady stating that they couldn't touch out bed because it would require them to touch our personal items… we left a pillow in the bed! Continuing on to mold in the pool room and no towels for drying off. They laundry room has a leak causing the entire floor to be flooded. And the cleaning lady closet right next door to us is repeatedly slammed every few minutes of the morning. People smoke in their bathroom and blow it into the vent which results in smoke being blown into your bathroom. Mold in the shower and something that appears to be a cock ring in the closet floor… Over all a very NASTY experience for a hotel trying to maintain nice appearances.

Nice suites, but not very clean at all. The air conditioner wouldn't work, had maintenance come twice. The refrigerator on low froze my food and drinks. I had to be at work by 6:00 am and had asked for a piece of bread with some bacon of which was already cooked and ready and you would think I committed a crime! It was already 5:45 am and the lady went ahead and gave it to me but the bread was stale with hard edges! That is the only time I had my free breakfast there. McDonalds is always open and a lot nicer about feeding you!

I was not impressed with Comfort Suites. My room had eye soars like cracks and dents in the walls and an obviously abused door for the bathroom. The tissue box was empty in the bathroom. The clock in the room has not been changed for daylight savings yet which was about a month ago. The room space was adequate for my needs. The hot water worked well. The toilet paper holder was broken off. The feee breakfast served was adequate. Overall, the experience would be worth staying again if the hotel room cost was a little lower.

Front desk lady, Carrie, was very helpful and accommodating but the bed and rooms were terribly kept by housekeeping. We were moved 3 times! Dirty blankets, previous guest's dirty wash cloths left in the bathroom and, not that it's a huge deal, but the batteries in the remote had acid on them! Again, Carrie was very accommodating and helpful but whomever is in charge of housekeeping sure isn't doing their job well. Oh, and apparently management isn't accommodating to these types of after hours requests. 0 stars if possible.

My experience here is awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone. And there breakfast cook. Name Carrie Jones is the best. She remind me of my mother. Now front desk checkin in a time she goes by the name of Nicole. I come to get rooms here just because I am around real good and intelligent people working here. Comfort Suites is located right here in Sumter, South Carolina. If you reading this, people please check it out you will love it.

The rooms were very clean and well kempt. Service was very professional and friendly. The price was very competitive for rooms I have stayed in elsewhere of similar quality. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint would be that the thermostat in the room was out of date. Fix that and it would be perfect.

The front desk staff was very polite and pleasant. However the room was very out dated and the repairs made over the years show badly. I’ve stayed next door at the Comfort Inn and the rooms were literally equally as nice but for less money. Sadly there was no suite here at Comfort Suites.

This hotel was amazing. The people were super amazing. The breakfast was fresh and hot every morning. The rooms were clean. A lady by the name of Nicole was very helpful to my entire family for the weekend. Whatever we needed she made sure that our stay was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Really big double room flat screen TV. Cheap rates all the restaurant within walking distance. Nice pool with hot tub. Great breakfast.

Nice clean and comfortable hotel with good location. No freshly baked cookies at check in : (

The cleanliness and maintenance is severely lacking. The mattresses seem to be waaaay beyond needing to be replaced. My room smells of mildew. In a positive note, along with the free mini shampoo and soap, is a mini shoe polish towelette. Who needs that anyway? I mean come on, do away with that and put some money into mattresses or maintenance!

Staff was professional and pleasant. Hotel was clean but the room had a peculiar odor masked by heavy deodorizer at check in. I didn't request any adjustments due to getting in really late and checking out very early.

Nice staff, nice bedroom, very good location, only remote control doesn't work properly.

The room was well put and spacious! Comfortable bed, pull-out couch, good fridge, 2 tables, and nice bathroom!

Restaurants close, Walmart within 1/2 mile. Rooms clean but could be updated. Over a good place to stay.

Omg the place is so horrible. I recommend u don't stay there. We checked in today at 7:00 went to get dinner came back to let my daughter go swimming in the pool and as she was getting a towel to dry off there were cockroaches round them. There was also roaches as u went from pool to the hallway to go back to rooms. Went out to vehicle to get something and entered back in front entrance to find more cockroaches. Plus the toilet in bathroom was wobbly and the shower was very old. The pictures they post are to make it look good but trust me it isn't. Very unhappy. Need to definitely upgrade it.

Front desk staff were nice and rooms are pretty normal. All rooms have pull out couches which were good too. Good location to boot.

I highly recommend this hotel, it is an excellent choice with good rates and a great location. The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay.

Don' t stay here. Many other choices in Sumter that are far better. The rooms were disgusting. MOLD on the bathroom wall, my tub did not look like it had been cleaned in weeks. My carpet was stained and had not been vacuumed under the tables and desk or behind other furniture. The elevator was dirty with sticky hand prints on the doors and walls. The unimaginative breakfast was not kept stocked and many items ran out. stay away.

Room was filthy, damp, and had mold growing on things. The fresh towels were so damp that the couldn't even be used to dry off after a shower. Front desk staff is polite and understanding, but hotel is gross.

Not much to speak of. Comfortable bed and quiet.

The night shift front desk clerk showed poor customer service. He was impatient and hung up the phone on me. For that reason, I didn't book with Comfort Suites. If Comfort Suites employees are this rude before you give your money it probably gets worse once you do pay. There are other hotels in the area. You're probably better off going to a different one where customer service is valued.

Had two rooms at this hotel… after checkout we were charged $162 for smoking in the rooms WHICH WE ABSOLUTELY DID NOT! Every front desk employee saw our party EXIT the building and smoke outside NUMEROUS times… just because there was remnants of cigarettes and cigars in the room, not ONE was lit in the room. If we took the time to exit the building and smoke outside EVERY TIME, why on earth would we smoke in the room? So I take it, because we were a group of black males… you are RACIST and ASSUMED we smoked in the room… Check the security video as you watch us exit the building each and every time to smoke. So unless you want to be ROBBED by this hotel and treated like 2nd class citizens that think they can get over on you… do NOT stay here… especially if you are black.

Whatever you do, DO NOT get a block here for your wedding. I had multiple wedding guests comment on how rude the front desk staff when they tried to make a simple booking using our block rate. But what I will never get over is how rude the front desk staff was the weekend of my actual wedding. My rehearsal was at 5 pm on the Friday, and when we arrived at 3 pm to check in I was told that my room wasn't clean and it would 'hopefully' be ready by 5 pm. We actually had to say 'Hi, I'm here to check in, ' because when we walked up to the counter the sales associate just stared at us. After being told that early check-in wasn't an option (no special treatment for even your wedding! ), when I arrived I hadn't showered or gotten ready or anything. The girl at the front desk had a nasty and unsympathetic attitude about the whole thing. I showed up an hour late to my own wedding rehearsal, totally flustered and stressed out. Guests from out of the country were left waiting in the waiting area for almost 2 hours to get into their rooms, with no mention either of any reimbursement for the time they had paid for but weren't in their rooms. When I finally got into my room, there were 3 cockroches in it (Same front desk girl said, Yeah… it rained, that's what happens). Trust me, don't go there.

Had no choice but to stay here due to the fact that no other hotel had availability. They put the money on hold and in the end I was overdraft on my account. Never again.

I've been here two nights, an the place is fine. Some of those poor ratings from 5 years ago are no longer representative of the hotel now. They must have listened and improved.
