Love this place Kaitlynn and kaci at the front desk are awesome they are very helpful with any thing I need.

Definitely an extended stay hotel. Staff is extremely friendly, small gym, free laundry.

We arrived a little early, did not have to wait, we were able to check into our room. "the room was simply beautiful! " and the staff was great as well, we will definitely be back! thank you candlewood suites for everything.

Very nice room but TV wouldn't stut off would stay there again they nerd to up grade there tvs.

Barely decent and over priced extended stay hotel. Rooms are only cleaned when a guest leaves or once per week during your stay (every 7th day), no extra towels, towels were rough and hard, and water in the bath tub ran brown for the 1st 10 min. Staff is nice and it is newly built so it looks nice but the amenities and actual quality left much to be desired.

This has got to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any IHG hotel and I work in GR for the company. There are currently 2 party's going on upstairs from two different rooms. People yelling from the rooms, called the front desk several times and its still going on. I honestly can't believe this is going on. I'm honestly at the point of getting ready to walk out and find another hotel to stay at. I am only here to sleep until 6am, however it doesn't look like that's going to happen tonight! Something needs to be done for my inconvenience.

Rested there after the funeral for our Grandma Creole Caesar. It was a very nice room, comfy mattress, full kitchen, and hot shower. Thank-You for the nice accommodation.

Not great, not the worst in my experience, but needs work. The hotel needs a scrub top to bottom. Carpets are dingy, mold/stains on ceiling, and faulty electrical fixtures were problems in my room. On the up side the bed was very comfortable, excellent water pressure on the top floor, and a nice staff.

Clean, but you must do all your own housekeeping unless you stay for a week.

The Great American Solar Eclipse brought us to Sumter SC and the Candlewood Suites. Our overall experience was very good, but the best part was the genuinely flawless customer service provided by Gina, the evening desk manager.

Excellent hotel good kitchens in the room, and the beds are wonderful outdoor grill under shelter with a TV definitely am going to stay here again.

The hotel is not maintained repairs need to be made I viewed 4 rooms all with unsanitary conditions. The issues are being hidden and may be missed but they are there.
Mold, water damage, smoke damage and air conditioners are filthy.

If you are looking for a pet friendly hotel in or around Sumter, this is the one you should plan on. There is a designated area out back for a pet walk with convenient bags to pick up after your furry one. Staff was pleasant and helpful. One thing I would change is bigger TV's in the rooms as they are located far from the bed.

The chair in the room is in such a bad condition I don't want to sit in it. My coffee maker is broken & still haven't received a new one so if we want coffee we will have to go downstairs & buy it. There was no soap in the bathroom when we arrived & no one brought it to me I had to get dressed & go back to the desk & get it myself. They just need to work on the little things. Customer service goes a long way.

Service has always been great at the Candlewood Suites Sumter. Have spent several long stays at this hotel and will continue to do so when I have business in the area.

Nice hotel, roomy and had nice amenities but my neck was sore the next day and the staff was hanging out in the lobby every time I walked through.

Clean lobby with pleasant workers. Smelled clean, chlorine wasn't overpowering. Hallways were vacuumed and spacious. 2 thumbs up for the rooms.

Coffee pot full of mold. Management wasnt even concerned. Room had a strong moldy smell.

Will never in life book a room here again tried receptionists used a housekeeper to do her job false complaints because we had our kids in the pool I guess because we where the only black people there besides the housekeepers and wouldn't give us a refund and we only been here 2hours.

It was a great overall experience.

I was forced to stay here on a one month work trip. While I wasn't expecting much from a budget hotel, the Candlewood Suites still managed to disappoint. When I first checked in around 1130 pm, there was no courtesy from the guy working the desk. He wasn’t mean, but certainly wasn't welcoming. After receiving my key and waiting on the incredibly slow elevator (recommend using the stairs if you get stuck at this place), I was denied access to my room since the clerk forgot to key the cards or did it incorrectly. When I showed up back at the desk he did not apologize, nor did he seemed surprised that the keys didn’t work. I was able to get in with the new set of keys, but then struggled to fall asleep due to the elephant walking on my ceiling until two in the morning. The following day I attempted to move to a room on the top floor to avoid have noisy neighbors above me, but was told those rooms were being held for customers who hadn’t checked in yet, but would be in a few days and had requested top floor rooms. So essentially the were denying an actual customer, who was actually already staying at the hotel, a new room in lieu of a future customer. What?! It took 3 days to finally get a new room, and the top floor was not even close to full.

Overall the hotel was pleasant enough. The room was large and the beds were comfortable, plus there was a nice desk area, comfortable recliner and full size fridge. There was a very small oven top but I never used it. The hotel is walking distance to a good steakhouse, Quiznos, and Dunkin Donuts, and a small drive to many more restaurants and shops. Room service is weekly, but as they tell you that up front I don't see why anyone would complain. I needed extra towels a few times and simply exchanged at the front desk. All of the receptionists seemed very nice. The pool area was clean with a nice hot tub. The free laundry came in handy several times as I stayed here for a few weeks. Finally, there was a nice BBQ area outside with granite tables, a nice grill, and even a TV to watch while relaxing. I never met the pot smokers mentioned by a previous poster, but then again I'm not easily offended by a few people harmlessly relaxing in a spot meant for. Relaxing. On the down side, the floors are a little thin and I was able to clearly hear my upstairs neighbors kids almost daily. The room had a few quirks, such as having to screw in the light bulbs above the bed to turn on the lights because the switch was stuck in the on position, but nothing too horrible (honestly, I never reported the light thing because I didn't feel like dealing with having an electrician coming in, and by the time I found out about it I had unpacked my stuff. It wasn't worth moving.

Stayed two weeks ago, and it was super nice! Staff was very friendly, pool was perfect temperature, and rooms were perfect, with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave, popcorn in it too! Price was awesome too, will stay again as we come to Sumter alot to see friends.

Not a bad place if you don't mind giant black stains on all your towels. Two flat pillows for a king bed, people running up and down the halls on the floor above you and beside you all night. Oh and the best part was going out back to the grills to smoke and having two individuals smoking pot there and yes I am sure because as soon as you walked out the door you could smell it. Other than that the beds are comfortable, everything besides the towels and most washcloths were clean, the rooms and appliances and utensils etc were clean. The staff is very friendly.

We only stayed for one night but had a great experience. Our king suite was spacious, and our room was extremely clean. Our dog was able to stay with us, and there were none of the usual signs (stains on floors, etc) that we were in pet room. The dog walk area is much larger than other places that we've stayed. I read some of the negative reviews and wanted to clarify that we didn't have any of the problems mentioned. The staff was very friendly and the room was large. Although we only stayed a night (and didn't deal with housekeeping), I'm surprised by all of the comments about weekly housekeeping. I've found this to be fairly common during long-term hotel stays for business trips.

Nothing grand about this hotel at all! Very expensive considering there is NO daily room service without "special request". No ice machines because there is an icemaker in the frig. In your room but we were there all weekend and it did not make enough ice to fill our cooler for one day of soccer games! Was on the first floor, had trouble sleeping both nights. Seemed there were elephants marching in the room above all night long. Also, their pillows are like pancakes.

This place is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the rooms are fantastic. Internet is slow, but who cares when you're on vacation.
