Great Hotel Super Nice And Clean.

When we first arrived yesterday afternoon I thought the hotel was a tad austere, but I’ve come to appreciate the calming decor. Open lobby, great seating options, and quiet music are most welcome. The hotel staff, both yesterday & today, have been especially welcoming and helpful. Maurice, their custodian, never stops cleaning and you feel safe and comfortable. Thank you for the pleasant respite from the traffic, the humidity and the busy-ness of the day.

So far it’s great! Nice rooms, bar area, good lobby.

We have had the privilege to stay at the North Charleston Marriott several times since August of 2019. Every single time we were blessed with awesome service, knowledgeable staff and genuine concern with every visit! The beds are the most comfortable that you will ever sleep on! The rooms are clean and anything you need for your stay is just a phone call away. We look forward to when we get to travel back to North Charleston and will most definitely stay here! Hands down five stars!

The hotel's customer service is poor! We were denied room service. Very disappointed! After returning from being out all day only to come back to the room the same way we left it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know.

I attended the 7th annual SOS Conference at this hotel and everything was top notch. The rooms were clean and quiet and the conference rooms were cool and comfortable in spite of the 99 degree temperature outside. Tc.

Yesss the Hotel is nice but did not have the Amenities that I was looking for This particular Hotel caters 2 Business Corporate however I like the decor & find staff very Friendly. Was looking 4ward 2 massage & full bath not enough closet space like I said before caters more 2 Business,,,, I rate it @ 3+ Stars …

Beautiful place, comfortable rooms, and great breakfast.

Made a reservation for my parents, which my mother is in a wheelchair, for a HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE room for 3/30-4/1. They arrived last night to be told they do not have her in a handicap accessible room. They had to find somewhere else to stay, needless to say, but it was over $350 a night for a room. The only handicap room available in Charleston. Customer service was not helpful, made it seem like it was my fault when I know I made sure at least 10 times to say it needed a handicap accessible room. So if your in need of a handicap accessible room, call elsewhere.

Stayed here in July. Hotel in general was updated and clean. However, our room was skipped by housekeeping a couple days. Floors were never cleaned and had to ask for towels. Also called twice leaving messages about an important charm bracelet that went missing. No one has ever returned my calls. For this reason I would not stay here again!

I have stayed at many Marriot properties and this one is very nice. My only complaint is with the service in the restaurant. I have stayed here twice and both times it was very slow. In fact, I had to go looking for the wait staff just to order my breakfast. Of course, I ordered off the menu instead of simply getting the breakfast buffet option. That being said, the food was excellent, the rooms are very classy and comfortable and everyone is very friendly.

Excellent rooms and amenities at this hotel. The esthetics are great. The rooms are high quality and comfortable. I loved my stay at this hotel the short time I was there. The service was top notch with friendly staff at every turn. The location is close to the interstate and other attractions like shopping and entertainment.

Great place to stay! Had wonderful rooms and the amenities were nice. The lobby smelled clean as soon as you walk in. I appreciate the fact that they have ditched the carpet style of older hotels and fit the rooms with vinyl flooring.

The hotel was adequate for our stay in the Charleston area. Right off the interstate which is convenient but can also be a downside with the noise. The room was clean. The downside during our stay was the check in process. It took in my opinion a longer amount of time waiting on someone to be available and check in period considering it was later in the evening and the check in rush should have been less. The lounge area was nice and in the morning had a decent selection of food. Will probably stay at another Marriott property during our next visit to the Charleston area.

Location is great, it's right next to the airport and near quite a few places to eat. The hotel itself was newly renovated but the building is old. You can tell almost immediately from walking around inside and taking the elevator up. The rooms are clean and are a step up from most other Marriott's (in a positive way). Amenities are the same as any other places. I found the breakfast to be very lackluster even though it's buffet style. Nice for a quick bite in the morning but not too much variety and quite bland. Guess I couldn't expect too much. There's a small gym and pool near the lobby and indoor restaurant that will serve food all the way til 11pm. I'd stay here again just for the convenience factor.

They were able to accommodate myself and my two other friends in a last minute fashion with ease. The lobby, surrounding areas, and room were all clean and looked to be in pristine shape. Also the proximity of the location to the airport was a big plus for our early flight the next day.

Close to airport nice modern hotel free shuttle to and from airport also drop & pick you up around 3 miles radius from hotel. The fitness center is well maintained and not crowded. There is bar and restaurant on site.

Great hotel! A surprisingly great meal for a hotel too. They seem to use real food… Staff was incredibly pleasant and room was very clean and modern. Even the shower head was nice, which I had previously just given up on a nice shower head in a hotel.

We stayed here on a girls trip and the hotel was beautiful. Very modern and very clean. Hotel staff was nice. The hotel is located close to everywhere you need to go. And the price was great compared to other hotels nearby. We came for High Water Fest and I'm glad we chose this hotel over the others.

I've been staying at this hotel while I house hunt and have had no issues until last night. At 10:37 pm I sat down at the bar/ restaurant area. I know the exact time because I had to refer to a text message I knew I sent as soon as I sat down. There was a gentleman serving who mostly stayed behind the bar and then a woman who tended to the tables. After sitting for a while I noticed I had not been approached with a menu or even a hello. I thought maybe she's busy, I will give her time. I then noticed multiple people who sat down after me which she tended to right away. At this point I was done making excuses for this woman when I checked my phone, and realized I had now been sitting here for 30 minutes without even being offered a glass of water. I glared at this lady in the hopes that she would finally serve me. After she saw the look on my face she then came up to me and asked if I would like something. I politely ordered, and left in peace when I was finished. I don't know what it was that made this lady think I was any less than the other customers. Perhaps she had a problem with my physical appearance, I don't know what the case may be, however I do know She ruined the lovely experience I was having here at the Marriott. If there is some kind of discrimination present here I most definitely will not be returning.

This is a very stylish hotel! The rooms are very clean and nice and the staff is very attentive. But not everything is great. The lobby has perfume that's frankly overwhelming, breakfast is expensive, and I hated how close the king bed was to the desk. You got maybe 2 feet but I kept hitting my legs on the corners. Still, it's a good hotel that if stay at again.

UPDATED REVIEW 4/18/2018: Since I stay at this hotel for corporate reasons, I have 2 credit cards that are put on file. One being the corporate card, which gets charged, and for some reason, they need my personal card. I have had a charge on my personal credit card for 2 weeks now where they accidentally charged my account. I have been directed to account/accounts receivable where I have left Hedi multiple messages to help me solve this issue, and I have yet to hear back. This is getting ridiculous. _________________________________________________________________ (3/20/2018) I come to Charleston every 2 weeks for work, and this is the hotel that corporate books me in. Now even though I have no choice in where I stay, I would recommend this hotel. The front desk staff is very friendly and has helped me in every way. My only complaint is that the air conditioning units are very loud AND the "nightlight" that is in the bathroom is very bright. You can't turn that light off, which I'm sure is there for safety reasons if you have to get up in the middle of the night, but for someone who likes their room very dark when they go to sleep, that bathroom light is very inconvenient. Otherwise, this hotel is great. Hopefully next time I will actually make it to the gym and lounge area.

Convenient location for getting around Charleston. Renovation is well done and the rooms are nice. My only complaint is that they needed more insulation. You could here every conversation in the adjoining rooms and the halls.

If you are staying at the hotel and want breakfast this place is ok. They have regular menu or buffet. I chose the buffet for 14.95, was it worth it NO! The buffet was standard scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, grits and 3 different types of fruit. Also, blueberry muffins. Very spicy sausage. Trying to get regular sugar for coffee I had to ask three times and never was asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee. Waitress just removed plates.

Great hotel. Interior is gorgeous and the rooms are new and modern. Great bar and friendly staff. Concierge lounge gets a little overrun for breakfast and we're often out of eggs and coffee. Will definitely stay again given the opportunity.

The hotel staff are generally not very guest oriented. There were a few exceptions, fortunately. As a gold member, with the hotel at 50% occupancy, I was given probably the worst room in the hotel. When I ask to be moved, I was given attitude by the front desk check-in staff as if they were doing me a "big" favour. The hotel is understaffed and as a result the service level is very low for a Marriott hotel. The quality of food in the M Lounge is generally at the lowest expected level. With the lack of staff they continuously run out of food and coffee. Overall not a very positive experience staying at this hotel.

Extremely happy with this Marriott, all Marriott chains should model this elite service and cleaniness. Also, its newly remodeled which definitely helps. I'm very happy with this stay at this Marriott. One more thing, the hand written note that was waiting for me, stating they appreciate me picking this hotel for my stay. Knowing I have other options. Even though they hotel might write hundreds of these personal notes, I still felt appreciated, warm and fuzzy. You'll definitely enjoy your stay.

Beautiful hotel and a friendly staff. The hotel amenities are great and the location is convenient to the airport and North Charleston areas. Therooms are gorgeous.

This was a case of customer service gone wrong. The hotel was very nice, however customer service made it an unpleasant experience from the start. Although we can not predict what happens and never really think of planning for the worst, it seems the staff had not planned well at all for a large group, whom I know confirmed and scheduled well in advance for our weekend stay here. The staff and management seemed very bothered and discombobulated when trying deal with the group. It was very disturbing to me that no one would own up to their mistakes and would continue to shift the blame on others, which all are a team and it made the hotel as a whole look worst, so you then begin to expect it. After getting settled in, things got a little better. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and food was delicious. Needless to say, customer service put a damper on things and I hope this was a major learning lesson and these reviews are of great value to the company.

Very nice. Very clean. House keeping is a 10 compared to other hotels of the same star status. The only down side is guest laundry isn't available at the hotel, but they make up for it by having a shuttle take you over to the Courtyard (their sister hotel) free of charge and bring you back when finished. Free Wi-Fi. Beds are above average. Very nice showers. Pool access. Grills out side.

Recently renovated. Very nice hotel. Clean and modern. Good water pressure. Did not get my room cleaned until much later in the afternoon but not a huge deal.

My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday in Charleston February 9th — February 12th. This is by far the best Marriott and we have stayed at a lot! The design and decor is beautiful. We were very pleased with our room. The mattress (king size bed) and pillows were so very comfortable, beautiful bathroom also. We only had one minuscule complaint and that is the rooms do not have a microwave; however, there was one near guest services. All the Marriott staff were kind and professional especially Kirsten Brooks. We will visit Charleston again and THIS Marriott is where we will definitely be❣

Like previous reviews note, hotel is clean, updated and elegant. Staff was professional and courteous. M Club was open 24/7 for drinks (coffee, soda, water, wine bar) and chips, snack bars, nuts etc. My only complaints are that the HVAC in the room is too loud as a few folks have mentioned, and there is a strong fragrance/air freshener smell that all these new re-designed Marriott's have. It is way too strong for my preference, but I have heard people comment they like it, so to each his own!

Love the aroma throughout the hotel. Room was clean and sheek. Beds were very comfortable.

Nice clean room that is nicely decorated. Shower is really great. HOWEVER, the HVAC system is INSANELY loud. Heavy machinery operating wouldn't be this annoying. And we left the room in the late morning, and housekeeping didn't clean the room after we left. The refrigerator won't hold anything larger than bottled or canned drinks.

My stay was good. Hotel decor is up dated. One complaint I have is the front desk not communicating with housekeeping that gold members get late check out. I was woken out of my sleep twice to explain this to house keeping.

Excellent place to stay overnight. Friendly staff and nice facilities. Has a nearby outlet for shopping and multiple locations to eat out. Will definitely stay at again if ever in the neighborhood.

Great place. Very clean and comfortable and modern. I was told free breakfast with my room and I was like to but after some yelling they paid for it.

My family and I stayed at this location during hurricane Irma. The first night was fantastic. We paid an additional fee for access to the M club lounge, and were very satisfied with the food and service provided. The second night however completely changed my view of this hotel. The M club lounge was shut down, due to a platinum member complaining of children creating an atmosphere that was not as relaxing as she expected. I visited this hotel with my 2, soon to be 3 year old daughter. The pool was closed the entire duration of my stay. Every restaurant, attraction, or distraction within at least 50 miles was shut down. There was no where to go. The hotel then shut down the restaurant. The only food option available for our second day was a buffet. This buffet consisted of undercooked pasta, crushed tomatoes, dry bricks of baked chicken, unseasoned and undercooked vegetables, and a salad option, which was just spinach leaves and dressing. This was not complementary. $21.95 a person, $16.95 for a child. I watched mother's cry in the hotel lobby. This situation, that so many families were thrust into, was made worse by bad decisions by people entrusted to insure a good experience. There are many more complaints about my experience I would love to share. I gave this property many opportunities to make this right. I never asked for a refund or additional rewards points. I simply wanted an apology. Instead my wife received an email from the general manager of this property.

Clean modern masculine touches. Fantastic outdoor pool. Cozy outdoor spaces to sit with gas fire pits. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Comfy place for a convention. The staff were polite to us. We didn't stay here for our trip to Charleston but were there quite a bit over the last few days with friends. The waitstaff and catering staff were professional and pleasant. Most excellent, considering we're atheists.

Modern style rooms. Rather small, tight rooms. There was mildew in the corners of the sink. The A/C noise level is acceptable. The refrigerator is so small I couldn't fit everything from my small cooler bag in it — it only holds a few small items and has no freezer section to re-freezer ice packs as far as I can tell — either that or the panel to it was frozen shut. Bathroom is very modern and it has sliding glass doors on the shower instead of a tub with a curtain, and it has hand-held shower heads! Room seems clean and the beds are comfortable. Food is expensive but that's no surprise considering the nightly rate to stay here (which is expensive). Haven't tried the bar, the pool, or the restaurant here yet.

Beautiful hotel overall. The staff has been extremely kind and accommodating. The beds are wonderful, the televisions have Netflix, the bathroom is gorgeous, and the main area is absolutely lovely. The food is pretty good, and the cocktails are dangerously good. The swimming pool is only slightly underwhelming, however, with the beach only twenty minutes away I hardly think that matters. My only complaint, and I believe the is a problem unique to me, is that the bathroom door doesn't have a lock. It slides open, on a rail, and my son, he's 14 months old, just loves that fact. So, keeping him out of the toilet has been interesting. The hotel is lovely, otherwise, and I would stay here again.

Clean, updated, and spacious rooms. Extremely friendly and professional staff. Great location just off the main highway. Easy ride to the airport or downtown. Altogether these things make the North Charleston Marriott the best choice for a hotel in the area.

Definitely one of my favorite Marriott hotels in North Charleston… You can rave for hours about the modern decor, exterior lighting, and the amazing scents that you smell from your first entrance all the way up to your hotel room floor, but the other minor details like the ice cold lemon water & cucumber water and the clean pool deck and hammock area are the other small details that are always attended to. I have stayed here 3 time for business and pleasure and they are the only Marriott thus far to not rush me out of my room at check out.

Comfortable clean and the staff was really nice. One of the best nights of my life was spent here. And the bathroom was the best I have come across in all the hotels I have stayed in for its price. Would defiantly stay there again and recommend it to others. Plus an ideal location to experience Charleston without the business of downtown.

The hotel is beautiful!
I had to stop in, because I am hypoglycemic and was not feeling well on the highway. We ordered lunch and it was so good we decided to add another shrimp cocktail, sadly the waitress never brought it to us. She was so overwhelmed and short staffed she gave it away to another table. Other than that our experience was a good one, rhe staff is very friendly and our waitress apologized and gave us a free bottled water to go.

We were there for our Human Services conference. This location has the best staff! The rooms were awesome! Great food! I highly recommend this Hotel.

Beautiful gorgeous hotel. Stayed here x2 months for work. Recently opened. Full upscale modern design. I think the major strengths of the hotel were the staff and the attention to detail that was put into designing the place. Their concierge service is impeccable w baggage storage, check in, etc.
very friendly staff. Their m-club lounge is awesome w daily assorted selections, happy hours, full scale cappuccino/espresso, sparkling water machines. There is downstairs bar/restaurant.
Daily wsj. Local newspapers. Free onsite parking, gorgeous gym. No self laundry on the premises. Only downside is they dont have microwaves in the rooms so you have to go down to the bar/restaurant/m club lounnge and ask the staff to heat up your food for you. Lol. But I would definitely stay here again.

I called one minute and they said they had no rooms available. Then 2 mins later they said they did. The customer service wasn't all that well.

I travel for a living and stay in probably 100 or more hotels every year, all over the world. Absolutely one of the most awful experiences I have ever had was with this hotel. Upon entering the room, I step on some broken glass in the bathroom. It's late, and after driving for many hours, I am tired so I just clean it up myself. Not a big deal since I still had my shoes on. Entire hotel smells like the paper mill in the area and my room smelled stale like someone smoked cigarettes in it in the past. Again not too much of a problem since I am there for work, and was not going to spend much time in the room. Real problem was after I checked out, the hotel charged my incidentals card $200 claiming that I was smoking marijuana in the room, but I don't smoke anything, ever. Smelling smoke makes me sick, no mater what kind it is. When I finally spoke to the night manager, he was rude and argumentative with me. I tried to explain that there was some error as I don't smoke cigarettes or pot or anything else. He claims he has some used baggie as "evidence" after going through the trash. Really? It seems to me by reading other reviews that the staff will enter the room regardless of the do not disturb sign on the door, I wonder if this happened to me? This really is no way to treat a paying customer, the company I work for spent a lot of money putting up most of our staff at this hotel, and I don't appreciate being shaken down by these scammers.

My company pays for this hotel and that's the only reason I am staying here. When it was the Sheraton it was very clean. I can tell this is no part of the Sheraton chain. As someone else mentioned the front lobby is very nice but the rooms are awful. You could get more for your money else where.

This hotel is not located too far from the Charleston International Airport this property also used to be a Sheraton Hotel, and has weathered the transition quite well. This property is centrally located in the Charleston and North Charleston metropolitan areas and you can quickly get to Mount Pleasant Allah palms or any of the area big beaches with a reasonable drive. There is an outlet mall and entertainment area not too far from here that can provide anything that you may need or have forgotten as well as entertainment during your stay. All of the public facing areas were clean and pleasant and up-to-date. The rooms were well laid out with everything that you could expect at a typical hotel. The service was great and the staff was friendly and accommodating so I don't really have any complaints in this area. It was great but not exceptional and certainly above the level of what could be expected at some locations. Overall I enjoyed my time there and would consider it again, especially if you are a business traveller as they offer free Wi-Fi and plenty of meeting space. It is a good alternative to say a Crown Plaza Hotel which is located nearby if that's not your typical choice of Hotel. My only real complaint was that I felt a lot of the public spaces and hallways were a little warm and could minute a bit cooler with AC.

I found a great deal online to stay here at $80 a night. After booking the hotel I started to get worried reading all of the reviews online. I was very fortunate to find all of them to prove my worries wrong. Checking in was fast and easy, they even let us check in almost 2 hours early! Our room was clean and large. The hall way spelled a little old but not as off putting as others have described. It is an older hotel but they've keep it up well. The pools both seemed nice though we did not use them while there. Overall it was a great hotel and I would recommend it to anyone not wanting to pay a fortune staying in downtown Charleston.

I am giving this hotel a 1 rating because the customer service is Nonexistent. I made reservations to stay at this hotel on July 30th using reservation desk. I called back the same day within an hour to cancel the reservation. I was told that I would not be charged because I called within the timeframe for cancellation. I now have a charge for the full amount of the hotel cost on my card and they are refusing to refund me my money. I never set foot on the property and I am told that the property manager is unwilling to provide me a refund. How is this fair practice? I have seen the reviews of this property and I am very glad we didn't stay there but I do not feel as though I should have been charged for the full stay. I wish I had never even considere this location. You should think twice if you are deciding on a hotel in this area. There are a lot nicer places for the same rate and o assure you you experience would more pleasant.

Smelled awful. Pools dirty. Everything is dirty. Rooms dirty. The pictures are not how it looks! the lobby is dirty when you get a close look the hall ways smell like public bathrooms. The room was dirty and there was food sitting across from us in the hall for a couple days. please don't waste your time its a awful hotel. Very dirty.

Close to the airport. Other than that it was terrible. Tiny room, midget sized bathroom. Don't even get me started on the beds. The one bed that had a mattress pad, wasn't even on. At all. It was just hanging there like a dead limb. But hey, at least that bed had a mattress pad, as opposed to the other bed. The loby appears to be nice. Too bad the room was identical to a Motel 6. Could have saved $90. Please go anywhere but here. Save yourself the money, time, and stress. Plus the diseases you'll catch from the bathroom.

CLOTHING STOLEN BY STAFF — Management would not help My college age daughter stayed at this hotel July 2, 2015 through July 5, 2015. It was a horrible experience. She and her girlfriend left a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, and the cleaning staff came in anyway. When they returned from their outing on Saturday, she realized her expensive shorts were stolen. The cleaning staff had moved her bag and and other belongings off of the bed, but the shorts were gone. She had just worn them that morning, so she knew she had not misplaced them. When she told the front desk about what happened, they told her to fill out a report for "Lost and Found. " I thought that was an ingenious way of covering up the incident. When my daughter returned to Atlanta, her dad called the hotel and spoke to the manager. She pays for her own clothes and expenses, so this was a big deal for her. He was not interested in helping us because he said that he has never had a problem with stealing before. This was very unprofessional of him to assume that my daughter was lying. We believe that the staff is very smart to steal one item at a time. Most people would assume that they mistakenly left their item at the hotel instead of assuming that it was stolen. As far as the quality of the hotel is concerned, it was WAY BELOW AVERAGE. My daughter said it smelled like mildew and the air conditioner was not operating properly.

The hotel has potential. The staff was very nice and very quick to address any complaints you have. Drew was very helpful at the front desk. The lobby has a very nice upgrade. Sadly we had to change rooms once due to our first room bathroom was filthy and my sisters room hand the door panel to get in the room hanging off the door. We were quickly moved to another room were we experienced more problems. My sister has a exposed electrical cord for her A. C unit on top of the carpet with a shredded piece of carpet thrown on top of it. I had no light bulbs in my lamps the bed skirt was dirty, and the rooms themselves made the 4 of use itch due to it being dirty. Just dirt everywhere. The curtains, the lounge chair in the room was covered in dust. The itching from the dirt of the room caused all of us to leave and go to another hotel. We never stayed the night here. This hotel could really be nice if the management took the time to update and clean the place up. Change the carpet is a must. I would never put my bare feet on it.

If it was possible to rate this hotel as 0 stars, I would. We immediately walked out and got a refund upon entering the room. There was fresh vomit on the floor. They were nice and appalled about the situation when I showed them the picture. Since it was the night of a major event, it took us hours to find another room that was outside of our price range. Available rooms were over $300 for the night! We actually had to leave Charleston completely to find a hotel, and ended up ending our vacation early. Too bad since we had plans and tickets that we wanted to use. The lobby is beautiful, but it is the most disgusting hotel room ever. They probably didn't notice the vomit because the carpet is disgusting. Might be worth staying here after a complete renovation and a new set oF standards.

Stayed here on a weeknight, King sized bed, decently priced. The reviews seemed iffy, but my experience was nothing but positive. Staff was nice, the room was very clean, the bed and pillows felt great, the AC was amazing after being outside in the heat and humidity. Located pretty close to shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

I love it the food was great and the staff was outstanding. Must try crap cake! its 10 dollars but its worth every penny.
