This place is amazing! I have been to many many many hotels in my life this one tops them all. The service was great the hotel is amazing the room was beautiful clean totally recommend it to anyone.

The ambiance and service are excellent. Its location is very convenient and within walking distance to several historic sites. We highly recommend it!

What a wonderful hotel! The Art was extraordinary and the staff so nice and helpful! Free bikes to use, free hot cookies at night, free wine every evening for the art reception, and Greta live music where everyone dances! It was like being on a cruise — we loved every minute and will be back.

What a wonderful hotel. The location is perfect. The hotel is historic and beautiful. The room and bathroom are huge and very clean. As soon as we walked into the hotel we received 5 star service from the front desk to concierge everyone was amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Charleston and will most certainly be back.

Loved the Vendue. We had an amazing room over looking East Bay Street. Great location to bars restaurants shopping and the battery waterfront. Friendly staff and great service. Best rooftop bar in Charleston.

Charleston Charm at it’s best! Perfect location to historic downtown Charleston restaurants, market, shopping, parks. The two bedroom/two bath with a full kitchen and living room made our stay very comfortable. Definitely recommend for a Charleston getaway with couples or the family.

Wouldn't recommend anywhere else for your visit to Charleston, or a romantic 'stay-cation'! The Quarters on Vendue feel like home (without the laundry/ dishes/ and 'life') — Can't possibly put into words how amazing this is for your next overnight trip!

Customer service is lacking and there is a MAJOR smell in the 1 bedroom unit. I have been home for two weeks from my stay there and STILL can't get it out of my clothing and other belongings.

The Vendue was amazing! It was within walking distance to all the rest spots in Charleston — the market, Rainbow Row, the Pineapple Fountain, the battery, Fleet Landing, Magnolias, King Street and more! And if you needed to Uber somewhere else in the city it was under $10. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and spacious. The staff was gracious and welcoming. They offer great amenities, like a happy hour with live music in heir drawing room and milk and cookies at night. But the best part about the hotel has to be the rooftop bar. It is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and a nice view! I can’t wait to come back!

What an absolute gem. This hotel is so lovely. It has the perfect amount of old and new. It is a beautifully restored hotel. The architecture has been preserved with every detail attended to. Our room was quite large and extremely comfortable. The bed had a step stool to get into it and I can honestly say I felt like a princess. We came to the Vendue as the starting point of a vacation I was taking my mom on. I had selected the Vendue specifically because they had two gentlemen who played jazz, playing there the night we stayed. I also selected this hotel because of the art displays. I was very excited about the trip and the Vendue exceeded my expectations. My mom enjoyed it so much. Everything from the music (which was so awesome and relaxing) to the art and the restaurant was perfect. The staff was so friendly and made you feel like you were part of a family. They have found that perfect mix of a gorgeous hotel, friendly staff and privacy. We enjoyed absolutely every aspect of our stay there. I highly, highly recommend The Vendue.

Reasonably priced for the area with nice accommodations and clean rooms.

My husband and I stayed at the Vendue over our anniversary weekend, and I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience! The room in and of itself was amazing (though the shower was a bit tricky), but what fully made the trip was the helpful, delightful staff! Mark, one of the bellman, greeted us and served as our guide through the hotel to our room. He offered assistance and recommendations for guiding through the city, and greeted us by name every time he saw us throughout the trip. The concierge, Toni, was extremely helpful and sweet. The little details (happy hour in the afternoon, cookies and milk at night) added to the experience. The hotel is a very close walk to the harbor and we were able to easily enjoy the sunrise over the water. We will most definitely be returning for another stay!

Location is very nice and the view from the rooftop bar is gorgeous. I went here for my 21st birthday. It was nice, the drinks were good, but the service is pretty bad when they are crowded. It took them 30 minutes for a waiter to come to our table just to take our orders. Food was decent.

First time staying at The Vendue and I have nothing but positive feedback. Wonderfully friendly staff and beautiful, charming, historic buildings with exposed brick and hardwood floors. The rooms are very cozy and handsomely appointed. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone and I will be coming back:)

Nice, we had a great experience.

The staff seemed very bothered by our presence. Ask to check in and get an eye roll and “fine”. Couldn’t hear the front desk guy’s question and he actually got angry. It’s historic and beautiful but also older and smaller for the price. Staff didn’t seem to be trying which made the initial experience hard to get over.

The Vendue highlights the artistic originality of Charleston. Offering two main, publicly open gallery's at a time, there's always something to look at. Sprinkled throughout the halls are the best works of multiple artists hand picked by the Vendue art department. There's a resident artist as well, Fred, who paints in the bar lounge on the main floor on Tuesdays. It's a very unique experience. The art docent, Barbara has a palpable passion for her work that bleeds over into her daily art tours for guests.

I was excited to visit then I got there… The parking is total screwed up. There is hardley any parking to unload then the parking garage was a block away. I told the lady at the desk I had a 5 month old baby so she might want to put us in a room easily accessible. Our room was across the street, up 3 flights of stairs then down a flight of stairs. We were suppose to stay 2 nights but checked out after the first night because the bed was so uncomfortable neither of us could sleep on it again. I won't be staying there again.

Great atmosphere for drinks and relaxing while being able to have a nice view of downtown Charleston. Food is good, nothing crazy. You go for the location. It is a go to place for me.

I take visitors to the rooftop at Vendue quite often for the great views of the city and harbour. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have two full bars that serve something for everyone. They serve food as well, but it falls much below the quality of food at comparable restaurants.

You can access the hotel rooftoo via a small elevator. There was about a 5 minute wait to ride elevator on the day I visited. I just went for a few drinks and didn't order any food. The main attraction is of course the view. There are a few different levels and areas that offer different perspectives of the surrounding area. I recommend checking this out while visiting Charleston.

The atmosphere is perfect and the rooftop bar has some very nice views. The food and drinks were good but not anything too crazy. The only downside is the elevator up to the bar. We got there around 5 and there was no longer but when we left around 7 there was a huge line for the elevator.

450$ per night, for mold in bathroom, small room, old decor. Scratched armoire in the dressing area. 25 $ parking per night and not told until check out. The roof top bar is open to the public, it is impossible to get a seat! Breakfast included, to bad you can not get a seat to eat it. I had a package sent back home, they charged 110$ for shipping, the item cost less, again not told the price of shipping until we were out of state. This venue is over rated, not recommended! I also stayed at the harbor view the year before, highly recommend! They are truly 4 star, do no t waste money or time at the Vendue.

Parents views and cheap drinks!

Great experience at the Vendue. Loved the location. Just a couple blocks to everything in Charleston. Rooftop was a great place to relax and grab snacks and drinks. Room did get a bit loud at night being so close to the street and thin walls. But overall couldn't recommend a better place.

The hotel rooms and service were great. However we had issues with ambient noise from other guests and staff walking on the wood floors. Otherwise it was great and the location was awesome. Complementary mimosa's and Sherry, plus a drink voucher to the rooftop bar because they were behind on check in. Customer service was great; we worked with Allison and Maurice. His restaurant recommendations were top notch.

We had a pleasant stay at the Vendue. The hotel is close to the historic area and several shops and restaurants. Our room featured several real paintings from local artist. The room was cleans, and our king size bed was incredibly comfortable.

Our room was very clean, well furnished & fantastic service. GREAT location in the middle of the French Quarter, 1 block from the waterfront. Rooftop bar, has lunch & dinner items available. The Drawing Room restaurant on site for breakfast & dinner. Nice complimentary items courtesy of the hotel; glass of champagne upon check-in, sherry in the room, fresh chocolate chip cookies & milk put out each night, complimentary turn down service. Would definitely stay there again!

The location is great, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The staff is spectacular very attentive, super helpful. Unfortunately can't say the same thing for the accommodations. Hotel is very old, I know that's part of the charm but the rooms are tiny, The rooms have single pane glass so very hard to maintain consistent temp in room. The toilet was broken so I had to constantly take back cap off to flush. Shower door handle was very loose and hard to shut. The seal around the balcony door was hanging and not functional so air and noise blew right through. We were in room 216 right over the rear exit for restaurants so every morning at 4:30 the trash truck showed up and jolted us out of bed! Complained that would have been nice to know about this room before we spent 700 dollars for 2 nights but fell on deaf ears.

Wonderful visit. All meals in drawing room were delicious. Rooftop bar was a great time, enjoyed meeting Julian and Gunny. Good location to sites we wanted to see. Only complaint is room was a little damp but it was very humid during our visit, room perfect otherwise. Hope to be able to return soon.

I loved staying at the Vendue. The atmosphere was very creative and artistic. The rooms are all unique. Ours had exposed brick wall. Visiting the rooftop bar was definitely a treat. All the employees are so very nice, and do not hesitate to greet you when they see you. There is a Starbucks inside the main building where guests get free coffee. And did I mention the complimentary sherry in the room? Great experience. Would definitely stay here again!

Great spot with great views. Go up the stairs to the very top for the best views. They have a bar up there as well.

Stay away from 306 and 307! The rooms are small and beds and pillows are squishy. Not comfortable at all. You can hear everything all around you. Roof top bar is loud and there is no sound dampening between rooms or floor to floor. You can hear people in the hall ways talking, elevator door opening and squeeking, chairs moving, coughing, ect. Thankfully when we told customer service they made it right. Up graded our room and gave us a bottle of liquor to enjoy. Special thanks to the awsome people at the front desk for saving our anniversary weekend.

Beautiful modern hotel. The art is great, very intriguing. I visited for the rooftop bar, one if the best in the city and it is easy to find parking past 7 pm in my experience.

A bit pricey but absolutely incredible. I would love to stay here again. Right in the middle of little shops and restaurants.

Stayed there with family for Christmas, the place was fantastic and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were well appointed and the king size beds inviting. The only watch for is if you're under 6 feet you will need the step stool (supplied) to get into the bed. The location was perfect we only used the car once to got the Christmas light show. Everything else was walking distance. The combination of Charleston dinning and the Venue puts them on our must go back list.

This is the most amazing hotel ever! All of the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel is extremely gorgeous. This is the absolute best part of our Charleston stay.

Been coming here for 5 years straight. It use to be a very romantic, antiquated hotel with best of class service and rooms. Recently it was updated and renovated into a first of its kind Art Gallery/Boutique Hotel. The vibe is completely different now, but the best of class service and rooms have stuck around. The lobby and restaurant are very hip and modern but the rooms still hold onto that old Charleston feel. Loved it then, love it now.

Loved the hotel! The location, decor and staff were outstanding! We ate at the Drawing Room and had a fantastic meal. The rooms were so beautifully decorated and the beds were amazing! I would highly recommend this hotel. The only negative was insufficient lighting in the rooms. I could've used a brighter light as an option.

Loved the old Vendue, but had a great 25th anniversary trip last summer. The art theme was unique. Great room, staff, food, and service. We'll be back.

We so enjoyed our stay, we had a hot tub in our room. Before bed we had candy on our pillows and a turn down. The next morning we had fresh rowels without asking, our tub was cleaned which impressed me because whole room smelled fresh. The staff were friendly and no we didnt get a complimentary breakfast but we could order room service. Along with fresh cookies and milk before bed.

This place is out of control awesome. Deal with it.

Great location, friendly staff and excellent ART. Our Queen room was very small and the furniture very large. I felt like the large furniture was going to attack me during the night. Had to move the bed and night stand to open the closet door. Had to ask for hangers because there was only 2 when we arrived for a 3 night stay. Had to ask for towels and washcloths the second day because they were not replaced when the room was cleaned. 3rd day our toilet quit flushing and had to get it repaired. Although the room was very clean, I didn't feel like we actually got our $$$ worth. I did like having a restaurant within the hotel but there were plenty to choose from 2 blocks away, which we enjoyed on our daily excursions out in Charleston. No hot tub, work our facility or complimentary breakfast. I really felt we could have chosen a better hotel had we insider information! I don't know what all the hype was about the Vendue.

They changed the menu and now this place is worthless. The food and drinks are absurdly overpriced. The ONLY reason to go here is because it's on a rooftop. If you want good food and drinks go to Moes Downtown Tavern.
