Meeting Street Suite Hotel

Historic inn, great staff, comfortable rooms. It feels it's age a bit, could use a spruce up, but all in all a great find right in the middle of everything. Would definitely stay again.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast was great and they changed it every day I was there which was nice to have something different. They also had a complementary 5-6pm happy hour with wine and cheese. The room was nice and comfortable. Location is great for restaurants, activities, & walking around. The only downside for me in the summer was no pool but they have a jacuzzi.

This place for what I paid to stay here was a joke. The people are rude no one spoke to us the whole four days we were there unless we asked a question. The bedsheets were never changed, yes housekeeping came in made the bed, fresh towels, etc. Everything was ridiculously expensive. Unlike Savannah where we stayed 4 days prior which was very pleasant. I will not be returning to the Charleston area any time in the near future.

Super friendly staff — southern hospitality through and through. Incredibly charming property. Perfect location — central to everything we wanted to walk to. Bed was so-so (ours was super high but they have a step stool), pillows okay. The rooms could use some updating, especially in the bathroom. FYI — the humidity can set off the smoke alarm so keep the bathroom door shut after your shower and keep the ac blasting or you may be rudely awakened at 3am.

We booked this hotel for our stay during our February 2018 wedding weekend in Charleston and used it as a sort of "home base" for our guests to gather throughout the weekend. The entire experience was sensational! First off, it's the perfect location — it's so close to bars and restaurants, the historic district, and shopping. The hotel has a wonderful southern charm that really enhances the experience of being in Charleston. It is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained while still preserving it's historical character. The outdoor patio seating was the perfect setting for our guests to gather, mingle, and relax. And the staff is absolutely incredible! They were so friendly and accommodating — they made us and our guests feel right at home. Their breakfast is wonderful and make sure to catch the complimentary wine and cheese "happy hour. " Meeting Street Inn helped make our wedding weekend absolutely perfect; we can't wait to return!

Very nice staff. Conveniently located to everything downtown by walking. Rooms quaint and charming but clean. Free breakfast and wine and cheese served daily. Definitely recommend!

The front desk agents were not friendly at all. We booked the room for two days but they did the check in for only one day, did not ask for a contact phone and next day they were looking for us to see why we do not check out. The place can use a little paint… in our room the ceiling was peeling. On the positive side we liked the atmosphere, good continental breakfast. Five star for the rest of the staff.

Enjoyed our stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast plus wine & cheese reception was very good and much appreciated. Parking is included, which we had not assumed, making the rate seem all the better. Housekeeping needs to do a better job cleaning off surfaces. Ours was dusty and still had crumbs from a previous guest on table tops. Updates needed: More outlets in rooms for computer, etc. Most significantly, room locks need to be updated with new electronic card entry system. Old fashioned keys with room numbers are still in use could be duplicated and then used later to reenter rooms. I was not comfortable leaving any valuables in the room, even with a small room safe. Keys are not well safeguarded at the front desk, but left in open bins. If a clerk stepped away for a moment, someone could take them. What happens at night? Otherwise, the location is great and we really enjoyed it. Would we return? Yes.

This hotel was a nice break from the touristy hustle and bustle right outside its doors. This isn't a 5-star luxury hotel, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and have a certain old school charm to them. We appreciated both the well-kept garden and the oversized hot tub, and were surprised that we seemed to be the only guests to take advantage of them. The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown, so you're only steps away from King Street shops, the market, and the waterfront. If you're looking for a place to stay outside of the normal chains, this is a solid choice.

There October 23, 2017. Fantastic staff, ask for Darin. Enjoyed great breakfast also wine and cheese in afternoon, all at no charge. Will definitely be back.

The Meeting Street Inn looked great when we did our on line research. The facility is charming and pleasant as was the staff. Location is great. Room need a good cleaning. We would have loved to spend a 2nd night here but did not because the room that we were in, needed a GOOD deep cleaning. Most of the base boards were very dusty. I personally cleaned the grantee counter tops. I went over the tops 4 times and every time more dirt came up. The bead posters were dusty, under the bead had not been vacuumed for what looked like a year +. As was noted in another review I saw two reaches. A big disappointment. We make a trip to Charlestown once a year we can not recommend this facility. If the room had been clean we would rate The Meeting Street Inn at a 4 Star+.

Got room 201. Good sized room. Nice bathroom. Historic building so window unit for air conditioning and cabinet for closet space. Room is on end over street. No noise issue from traffic but sun shines in through shutters on the morning. Don't expect to sleep late.

Very nice old building right in the middle of Charleston's historic district. Location is across the street from the market and very close to lots of good restaurants. Very secure valet parking under the building is included. When I checked in the room was initially given turned out to be occupied but the staff was very accommodating in the correcting their error and even upgraded me to a Hilton honors room.

We had a great time at this hotel! Upon checking in, we had a bit of a snafu with our room, but the concierge was incredibly helpful in getting everything sorted out. The parking is only by valet, and the valets were friendly and efficient. And what a great location! Super close to the night market and tons of restaurants.

Most awesome hotel ever right in downtown Charleston. Every room is a suite. We were govern a one story suite with 2 bathrooms, kitchenette, living room and separate bedroom. The rooms were extremely clean and the staff wonderful and always helpful. Others with us are given 2 story suites and they were not as nice and much smaller than our suite. This hotel is also right downtown within walking distance of anything you could want to do. Loved our visit here.

Attended a formal business dinner. The property is beautiful and very conveniently located in downtown Charleston. The food provided for dinner tasted very good, and filled probably 245 seat places very quickly. The drinks were, unfortunately, way overpriced. My pregnant wife had to pay $5.50 for a soda water mixed with dole pineapple juice. I then paid $6 for a *Coors light*. Considering each place paid about $40 for the venue, I feel the drinks should been less expensive. Everything else about the event was great.

Prior to arrival, we had great correspondence with Alexander, who helped us along the way in mapping out our weekend. Upon arriving, we were welcomed with warm greetings from the staff and a beautiful room. The breakfast spread, wine & cheese happy hour and late night cookie sweeten the stay and also help create community among the guests.

Rooms are not really for family vacations. It's more of a spot for couple. But overall very good experience. Guests are frontally and so is the staff.

This is the worst place I've ever tried to stay and get some sleep in. You could sleep on the floor and that will be just as good, or horrible, as sleeping in their beds. All of the beauty and atmosphere was not worth $170 since I didn't get what I actually needed the most which was a place to sleep. I explained my terrible circumstance and how my shoulders actually hurt from laying there staring at the back of my eyelids; and also that the previous week, I had stayed in a $40 a night hotel and slept like a baby. Naturally I requested a refund since I did not did not get what I paid for; sleep. So the "acting manager "Lee, very boldly said to me " I'm sorry but you stayed here and it's not our policy to give refunds. " Of course I told him, that that was wrong and that my trip was ruined. I asked for the corporate office phone number. I will be contacting them but the beauty is not worth laying awake all night. Try the Days Inn instead!
