We enjoyed our stay, great air conditioning and convenience to the market restaurants and walking thru historical areas of Charleston.

I love my steak is was very delicious, I will be back even from Florida. Appreciation to the chef and staff.

We had made reservations to stay here and on the website it says the rate was $339 a night. We received the reservation email and we’re charged an additional fee called tax recovery of $143 a night so we cancelled. We have travelled the world and have been charged resort fees although nothing as outrageous as this.

We had a very good time in Charleston and loved the Andrew Pinckney Inn. We stayed in the St. Phillips suite for 3 nights and LOVED it! It has a huge soaker tub and a huge shower! The bed was comfortable and the view was great! The Inn is close to everything and we walked the entire city. We enjoyed the tours and the restaurants. The staff at the Pinckney are exceptional and we made new friends! We will be back! 5 STARS!

Our stay at the Andrew Pickney Inn was so wonderful. The staff was very attentive & friendly. The afternoon wine & cheese was the perfect way to end a day of exploring beautiful historic downtown Charleston. Our room was spacious and very clean. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Absolutely loved this boutique hotel. We had a fabulous room and stay. The staff went above and beyond. It was one of the best gourmet breakfast buffets I’ve ever had. Loved the wine and cheese hour everyday.

First stay this past weekend and loved it! Beautiful building and room that is centrally located to so much. We walked to almost everything we did while there. Room service and breakfast every morning in the roof top room was great. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Four floors in the building and was nice not having the hustle and bustle of so many people coming and going like with the bigger hotels. We had a room that faced the street and yes there was noise in the mornings… not at night… like some other reviews stated but come on this is a lot like New York… it’s a city that has a lot going on. So if you want complete quiet then you need to find a secluded room somewhere in a hotel that has 20 plus floors. We actually like it because it helped us get up and get moving. Will definitely go back! ❤️❤️❤️

We have stayed at the Andrew Pinckney Inn many times over the past 11 years. Each time has exceeded our high expectations for a hotel/Inn. The suites are spacious and the service from the entire staff is wonderful. We love the wine and cheese hour and the breakfast is delicious. The quiche is my favorite!
The location is perfect. It's one block from the market and across the street from carriage and walking tours. We love Charleston and the Andrew Pinckney Inn.

Gorgeous building with timeless old world character that you can’t find in newer buildings. The parking is about $25 per night so factor that into your stay. They have a great wine and cheese hour in the afternoon and they have a continental breakfast. My main complaint would be the condition of the plantation shutters in the room. They were in such bad conditions they couldn’t be opened to look outside.

The Andrew Pinckney is an older hotel, and from the photos and prices, a boutique luxury hotel. That is not the quality of the stay we had at all. The rooms are nice, and the breakfast on the balcony was adequate (think Hampton Inn), but neither justified the room’s cost ($435 per night fully loaded). The location is good, but there are many other hotels in the area that are located in a better place at comparable prices. While the accommodations were adequate, the hotel was too expensive and didn’t present us with the historical Charleston feel we were led to believe it would based on the photos. We won’t be back.

Lovely old hotel embodying Charleston of yore. Not fancy or ultra modern but has all the amenities one needs for comfort. The breakfast on the rooftop was inspired and views are great. Lobby has coffee and snacks and staff was professional and efficient and helpful. Rooms are on small side but very comfortable beds. We had two floor suite. Lots of room and an outdoor patio overlooking the city.

Enjoyed our stay. The Inn in a convenient location to downtown areas of interest. Complementary breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese tasting is held on a beautiful fourth floor patio.

Not sure how this establishment obtained a 4 star rating. The room we were given was no larger than my walk-in closet (of course this room isn't posted in their pics of the hotel). The floors were dirty and the bathroom was just as small. This is certainly not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. The breakfast they provided was also a joke. I've seen better breakfasts at a 2 star hotel. They literally had the cheapest items they could provide. I couldn't drink the orange juice, it was so horrible. If you're going to spend $300-$400 a night for a hotel, do NOT choose this one.

Hotel room we got was nice and spacious, but this is the part where the review comes in. The front desk girls I dealt with had very poor customer service. The hotel is split into two different buildings so we were in the other building across the street and I was told there was free water bottles there instead of buying one in the vending machine. Went inside the building, but couldn’t find it and I asked the front desk girl and she seemed to be annoyed when I asked her so I just walked away. Second thing was my fiancée and I came back from eating out that night and we couldn’t find a parking spot in the area so we thought maybe we would just do valet since they offer it. No valet attendant was outside and when I went inside another front desk rep was there. I asked her if they were still doing valet at this time (it says they’re 24 hours) and she said yes, but instructed me to leave my car running with my keys in the car outside with no supervision… I thought that was odd and told her no thank you and asked if I could give her the keys and she said yes. I didn’t like the idea in general of leaving my car out front without the attendant, but we both went back into our room and I could see my car outside the window. After 25 minutes my car still wasn’t valet so I went back downstairs and just asked for my keys back and went to find a parking spot myself at night. The representative didn’t seem to care that I said my car still wasn’t moved. Overall the experience was okay.

Wonderful experience. Right in the heart of historic Charleston. A little pricey, but worth it. Staff was very friendly and even let us extend checkout time. Breakfast setup ran a little behind schedule and the coffee service could have been fresher, so I gave 4 stars rather than 5.

OMG! I was so excited that I forgot to take photos of the lovely Inn/our double room/etc. *PLEASE send us a few, so we can share them! *** Everyone was very pleasant! From valet parking to the most luxurious bed linens ever. Marble bath, stately furniture with awesome views from either of our double windows that had lovely white slat blinds for EZ afternoon darkening. Plush print carpets. Quiet. Such a comfortable Hotel to relax in, that we ordered in, for dinner… I felt extremely safe… stairs and fire extinguishers were readily marked and available. Room 101 is their 24/7 coffee and tea room, which was nice. We are true coffee lovers. Truly our only complaint, was that the coffee had an odd taste. Probably the water. *I would highly recommend a good brand of spring water for making the coffee and tea. Otherwise not a single complaint! (My husband wanted a special place close to the heart and market in CHARLESTON! ) He really chose a wonderful hotel and we had a great experience that I will always remember! Great staff as well.

Hands down the best breakfast ever. Love the many amenities. I think I found s favorite. The staff made me feel like I was talking to family.

It was under construction when I stayed there. The rooms seemed very old and dated but I felt like it was fitting for the town. Also the location seemed close to everything. It was very hard to sleep because the bed was too soft and it was non stop noise out the window of my room.

I don't ever leave review for businesses, but I was so displeased with my stay here for too many reasons. Most of the staff was pleasant, but their organization and lack of communication blows my mind. I ended up being wrongly charged $800. The mistake was 100% their fault, and the desk clerk refused to acknowledge that. I left a message with the general manager, still haven't heard anything back from him. I booked the deluxe room with two beds for my sister, mother and I. The room was SO tiny, nothing at all like the photos on their site. The bathroom was dingy, and very tiny as well, not equipped for three women whatsoever. We come to Charleston every year and this was by far the worst hotel experience. The room was nothing special but the added stress from being wrongly charged was the icing on the cake.

Location of hotel was great, as well as the view from terrace. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, would have been cold if not for the heaters on the terrace. Only wish the t. V. In the room was a little bigger.

The two stars are purely for the employees. The hotel was pretty great in and of itself. We called late one night to confirm our reservation and was put on hold for over 10 minutes. Hung up and called back 15 minutes later and nobody answered. Strike one. The breakfast and cocktail hour were pretty nice and the food/wine was great. But, again, the employees ruined it. A seemingly impatient attendant made things awkward. (Here’s the icing on the cake! ) The attendant at breakfast this morning works out of a little nook, where I’m assuming they heat the food, and she was clearly watching the movie Chucky (yes the little doll murderer movie). Now, we couldn’t see the movie, but boy could you hear it. It was so loud that everybody eating outside definitely heard it. Hearing it wasn’t so much the problem, but that it was definitely during a murder scene. A lady (in the movie) could be heard screaming at the top of her lungs while you could clearly hear her guts being stabbed and the sound of blood squirting everywhere. I only remember this so vividly because we just woke up and I was eating yogurt and drinking orange juice. Not the best ambience. Strikes two, three, and four. Our shower happened to not work at all, which I understand, stuff happens. The manager was nice enough to comp our room for one night and offer us another room to shower in. Minus one strike.

Got a great deal on room for the weekend. Spacious room with a little balcony… Pleasant staff. Parking for the car at hotel was a big plus downtown.

Always a real treat to stay here! The staff is friendly and the rooms are nicely decorated with that "extra" touch. The breakfast on the rooftop provides more than any other place. The wine/cheese reception in the afternoon makes for a nice "stop' in between other activities. Additionally the comfortable lobby provides cookies, hot cocoa, assorted teas and ice water. It never feels like I'm staying in "another hotel". Highly recommend!

Our sightseeing and Thanksgiving picnic were rained out. The concierge was kind enough to point us in the direction of the nearest open grocer and sent a mini-fridge to our room. Our day camping out in the king room was just perfect. Oh, I must give recognition to the cafe attendant. Breakfast on the roof was delicious, the view is amazing, and the cheerful attendant was just splendid! She deserves all of your tips.

As it was my first visit to Charleston, this was the perfect place to stay. It was close to everything. My stay was for business and your Inn was within walking distance from my conference. When we arrived, you staff was very kind and understanding when my business card was declined. They patiently waited while I tried to figure things out on a Sunday. Your staff was amazingly friendly for the three days I was there. Every time I entered your lobby I was greeted and conversation was always there! The valet was kind and friendly and made sure every time we walked by, we were greeted! The breakfast was great, the wine and cheese tasting we were not able to attend but sounded amazing. When I do return, this will be the place to stay! Loved the charming southern hospitality!

The bedrooms are immaculate and the lobby is beautiful! Tge majority of the workers are very pleasant and helpful.

Quaint. We have been to Charleston many times and decided to give this inn a try. We had expected to be in the newer (elevator) building but ended up in a portion of the inn without elevator service. If you need to have an elevator to get anywhere except a ground floor, you need to make that clear in your reservations. The evening cookies and morning breakfast were good and the location was convenient. But our feeling is fairly neutral on our stay; it provided adequate overnight accommodations.

Love the bed, hands down the most comfortable sheets and bed I have slept in when traveling. The wine and cheese they offer at 4:00pm on roof top was great! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Location is awesome, we walked to variety of restaurants, museums, and the market. Would definetly recommend!

Breakfast is awesome. We we're upgraded to a beautiful suite upon arrival. The room is renavated but still includes the old charm of Charleston. The staff is very personable and quick on requests.

I had never been to Charleston, and a friend chose this place for our stay. My only regret is the time we had to spend. If you are a lover of history, the "Old South" or even just Southern charm, I must recommend the Andrew Pinckney Inn. The historic area of Charleston is pricey, in my opinion, but if you want to walk everywhere and be treated to the full experience, give this a shot. I know we all want luxurious rooms when spending the cash, but these rooms are more cozy t…han full of extras. In our room, there was no closet, but just a hanging area for a few bits of clothing — which was more than adequate — a dresser, two nightstands, a nice television, a well appointed bathroom with a nice shower and vanity and a small window over looking the city market. We were across the street from the main building (known as the Church Street building). This is a historic hotel, so there seemed to be some residual noise from the hallways, doors shutting, and street traffic — even late into the evening. The inn is only four stories, so if you're looking for a sky scraper, this isn't your place. The top floor, however, serves as home to a lovely terrace, providing a great view to the east. On that terrace there is also a happy hour from 4-5pm with quite a spread of fruits, cheese, red and white wine, and a few other little snacks. A nice "extra" when dining out can start to add up.

Our stay was excellent! The hot breakfast every morning was delicious, and the evening wine and cheese reception was perfectly executed. The lemonade, tea, coffee and cookies of an afternoon were a real treat as well! With all the food provided in our booking, we saved so much on meals! In addition, the hotel service was prompt and the staff was friendly and happy to help!

I originally booked this stay as a spring break option for my youngest. It turned into a wonderful experience for both my wife and I. It's funny how you ask for, "just like the pics". With our visit we got that and more. The staff and overall hotel was great nothing less than the fine print. I plan on making this trip again.

European style hotel. Small room in an old building. Very charming and well put together. I don't understand the gripe that some seem to have with this hotel. My wife and I loved it; the location was great too. Breakfast area was heated and outdoors. Small buffet with both hot and cold items. Nothing fancy but a good breakfast.

I can't say enough good things about this Inn. From Sandy's warm greeting in the lobby, the amazing room with the double doors, the ambiance and to breakfast on the terrace, we felt that they were genuinely interested in our comfort. The location is perfect. And the coffee is good. If you want a small, intimate place to stay where the staff is warm and friendly and genuinely seems to care, this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

The old bait and switch — paid $500 for a crappy tiny room that stunk of smoke — they said they had nothing else, but when I asked for my $ back they found a tiny dark room in the back with broken shades. Online that room is $200! Your room will probably be across the street — not worth your night — breakfast is on freezing roof where only a few can sit and front desk lady looks like she's miserable and has no interest in you at all. Overall the worst experience of my week! Avoid this hotel at all costs. Not like the photos!

Just stayed for 4 nights. Great staff that was always friendly. Beautiful old building right in heart of everything. Definitely one of our fav spots in Charleston.

That glowing yellow building — your room probably isn't in there. Your room is in the building not in the photo, located across the street. That boring building seems to have been an office building. I say that because the rooms seem very much like they were once offices. Our room smelled of mildew, as did everywhere but the entryway of this building. All of our furniture was damaged — not folksy and distressed, but chipped, pealed, and otherwise broken. The bathroom exhaust fan didn't work, but that wasn't the cause of the mildew smell. Instead, it was just a place for thick, gray dust to accumulate. Many of the rooms are also interior rooms. That's right, no window, no balcony — just a wire-filled window along the side of the door in case you want to watch the cleaning staff or other guests walk by the room. This is, without question, the worst hotel in which i've ever stayed. I've traveled extensively in the US and Europe and I'm accustomed to every level of comfort, from crashing on a friend's floor, dorm hostel rooms, private hostel rooms, cheap motels, moderate hotels, bed and breakfasts, country inns, private apartments and damn expensive luxury hotels. This hotel is the least of them all.

Our stay at Andrew Pinckney Inn was better than anything I could have ever expected. We stayed in room 101 across the street from the main lobby. It was a large king room with high ceilings, old hardwood floors, a chandelier and plantation shutters. We also had the flower boxes outside the windows since our room faced the street, which was a pleasant touch. The bathroom was on the small side but the overall size of the room more than made up for it. Aaron at the front desk went out of his way to make sure that we were enjoying our stay in the hotel and the city in general. There was a mix up with some champagne we ordered and he was extremely responsive to the situation and we ended up with a second bottle of bubbles. The older gentleman with the black rimmed glasses in the lobby was also very nice and made some amazing restaurant recommendations. Finally, the young African-American valet was very attentive and we never had to wait more than a minute for our car to be pulled out. He also helped us load our luggage into our car when we left. On Sunday morning during our stay there was a problem with the Wi-Fi. I called the front desk to inform them of the issue. Later that evening we went to get some coffee from the lobby and the Wi-Fi was still not working. We asked the gentleman behind the desk if there was a known problem with the internet connection. He said that there had been some reports of it being out.

My experience was awful at the Inn. Its terrible when such a beautiful hotel is put together and then completely under minded by extremely poor customer service. I felt taken advantage of. I went to Charleston to visit family and made the honest mistake of booking my room one night early. It was in early January during the low season and I was informed that the hotel was no where near full. This being said I was still charged for the room which to me creates poor return business. Being someone that works in the industry of hospitality it is always about the customer. If they were to have taken care of thru room the night before I would plan on staying here more often and they would have got more than just 200 dollars out of me. I will not be back. The breakfast was awful as well, the cut fruit looked very old and all the dairy seemed to be in a scary temperature zone, milk, yogurt. Etc. Save yourself the time and find another location for the money you will be spending here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. The staff was so gracious and everything was to our liking. Would love to stay again sometime.

As locals, my husband and I wanted a weekend staycation downtown. The hotel was great for the price and we will stay again. You can't beat the location.

Me and my wife stayed here for 2days/1 night. Location was good. Not right in the middle but just a block away from things. We booked a standard room but when checking in sandy let us know we were going to be upgraded to a townhome suite at no charge. Tho the room was 2 floors an more room then we needed. No complaints. Room was super clean, very nice. Quiet. Sandy also gave us tons of info on downtown charleston. Nothing but great customer service. The continental breakfeast is my only complaint. They have a small area for outside sitting, get there early. Me an my wife stood waiting for a table to open up. Food was ok, enough to hold us over till lunch. But other than that. Great hotel. Great location. Great service.
