Made a drop around 11 of 2019 in the area. Great hotel to stay with plenty of things to do.

The staff is very helpful. I was given a very big room with 2 double beds instead of a small room with a double bed, which I had booked, at the price of a small room.

Wonderful experience with wait staff from restaurant and at the front desk.

I stayed here recently with my sister. I found the staff very helpful. Got moved rooms woth a free upgrade as when we both had showers when we first arrived we noticed a leak in the bathroom. Room was very quiet and nice views. The decor could do with a bit of an upgrade.

Extremely outdated, rude front desk staff. The bell men just stood and watched me struggle with luggage. No temperature control, it's extremely warm in hotel and rooms.

The neighborhood is great. Very convenient for public transportation. The staff were great. I have been staying on and off for years. Nice rooms. Decently priced compared to some of the other hotels in Manhattan.

Bad hotel, poor service and no air conditioning.

Worst service ever. Had a surprise $40 destination fee per night when we arrived which was meant to include the pool etc. When we went to use the pool it was closed and a big sign said it only opens for 20mins an hour at the life guards discretion.
The house keeper also stopped us in the hall on our way out one day and said “do you need your beds made and room cleaned”, when we responded “yes please” she did a massive sigh and walked off. Rooms were not cleaned properly and staff were quite unhelpful and rude. I’ve visited NYC multiple times and can honestly say there are far better options available at a cheaper price that offer superior service to what you will receive here.
Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

The staff is very professional. It is a cool building with awesome decor. The room was comfortable and clean. I loved the soft pillows. We ate at the Cafe in the hotel and it was good.

The hotel was nice and in a good location, but we could not control the temperature in our room. It was so hot in there, and when my husband asked why the air conditioner wasn't working they said "air conditioning is out of season". He then asked if they had a fan we could use and they said no. So we basically had to sleep in our own sweat for 2 nights as there was no breeze coming in the window. They also surprised us with a $40 "Destination Fee" whatever that is. A surprise fee and not being able to have the room a comfortable temperature… I think I'll stay somewhere else next time.

Very good hotel, clean, good bedding, bedroom, very large with lots of storage. + The pool on the roof with a view of the buildings! Very well located at 5 mn from Central Park, close to the metro. I would highly recommend this establishment.

The room is not cleaned. We already asked the housekeeper to clean our room, she said yes three times. But when we got back, the room stayed like what it was. She even lied to everyone that it is our problem for putting up the “Do Not Disturb Sign”. The whole housekeeping department and the front desk are completely atrocious. Front desk is extremely rude, one front desk even scrutinized us when we asked to change the card, while the other said no need to show ID. The housekeeping department refused to make the bed for me and yelled: “How is that dirty, didn’t you sleep on it? ”Among the worst is the housekeeper never changed the garbage bag when they clean the room, it has very stinky smell in it. Wi-Fi is very slow and the slide door stuck in the room. The room does not have amenities like fridge. The night manager is a big liar who is inclined to her staffs. She firstly said the housekeeper has my name on the list but the it said “Do Not Disturb” and then she said “This housekeeper is not responsible for your room. ” Her attitude is completely freak out, said the issues are small, all we need to do is to talk with front desk, not her because she is the manager.

Dated, stale, and HORRIBLE service. I checked into this dump at 3pm and was allowed to use the pool until closing. The next morning, I was only allowed to use the pool for 1 hour until check out! I asked to check out 30 minutes later and they denied my request because "The pool was too full". I took a picture of the EMPTY pool and showed it to the front desk. They said "The pool is too full", when looking at a picture of an empty pool. Beyond that… The wait time in line to check in was 45 minutes (Dated! ) The room was stale and the AC didn't work, had to get a fan. Oh, and back to the pool… there is a "no food by the pool" policy… but they let everyone smoke cigarettes at the pool?! Ive been to cheap hotels in VEGAS that were better than this dump. TERRIBLE customer "service". Want a recommendation? Go to the Gansevoort or Dream, they have a pool you can use all day after check out. Oh, and their service is exceptional.

I liked this hotel. Good location. Very friendly stuff. Nice and clean room and bathroom. Very clean and comfy bed. We'll come back again. They have a private parking and it's not expensive and easy to reach. I strongly recommend this nice hotel to everyone.

The hotel is comfortable Although having booked and paid in advance takes away all benefits of being able to choose rooms between other things when you're out of time you are injured as a minimum or a week I had 11 days. The sight I found it terrible, the pool on the last floor was not heated and in summer you morías cold. The maid service left to be desired because you never let all the elements perfectly and you had to call and speak to them in English even Though we all knew were latino. Saving these details I would say that there was a very good predisposition of those people that if they work and that they cared so that you have the best stay.

Only gets three stars because of the location. The room and hotel itself barely have any amenities. There's no fridge, the ice machines weren't working, no where to microwave your food. There's no late checkout and the despite the pool being closed we still had to pay a $10 "resort fee". What resort? I didn't see any resorts at the Watson hotel.

The beds are VERY comfortable. The value was excellent for the location and the pool. The hotel staff was extremely friendly during every interaction. The hotel has signs of wear and tear. My shower water went completely cold mid shower around noon and the first couple days we had keep problems. But we enjoyed our stay. If you're in New York City, you probably aren't in your room very often and all you truly need is a safe place with cimfocomforbeds and hot showers. This place gives you that. Seriously, the beds are great.

I did not actual stay at the Watson hotel as a guest but stayed next to it. The exterior and interior both look amazing. It is easy to spot and is easily enjoyed. As I walk past I often enjoy using a "narrator" voice to make the Watson hotel more cinematic and dramatic.

Love love love this hotel pool amazing skylight lounge amazing rooms a little dated but clean Jocelyn from the Skylight Lounge was so nice to us going out of her way to show us a good time as was the other staff very friendly with and great atmosphere… the owner walks round every day and nite greeting people with great stories and he has the best mustache iv ever seen… We will defo be back thanks to all the lovely staff for such a great time xx.

The hotel is very clean and conveniently located for getting to food and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Check in and out were efficient. My bathroom was a bit dated and cramped. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. I ate one night in the hotel restaurant. The service was slow but the food was delicious.

Beautiful pool, view, and prime centrally convenient location, within blocks to the train and attractions! Staff was exceptionally friendly and owner Mr C/Joe was extremely down to earth, regularly greeting and interacting with his guests. It’s was the icing on the cake for our wonderful vacation week here in NYC!

Would not stop here again, staff are very rude, not helpful and only after your dollar. Room run down could do with refurb. Checkout 11, checked cases in until 2pm as late flight, lobby was busy, nowhere to sit, so went up to pool area to sit for 10 mins was refused access, even though not using pool. Pool manager Noel, just sits there with his feet up no customer care/service, just chats up the ladies, who go into the toilets to fill up their pint glasses of wine, classy.
