My daughters wedding was at Seven Gables lastSaturday. We have never experienced a better service experience. Jonna was her coordinator and was there every step of the way. I've never been to a wedding where the staff ends up on the dance floor with the family. Ben Jaime and Mark were the best. Thank you for a wonderful night. We will come back for dinner sometime!

I have been waiting for a refund for my ceremony that did not occur here due to lack of communication for over a month. Was told they were refunding 75% of payment and it would be sent out from corporate office. I have been trying to contact the sales rep with no response to several emails for several weeks. I am very in pleased with the service received since the day of my wedding and the lack of communication regarding refund since the original email with refund info. How could it possibly take 1.5 months to receive a check via corporate?

The minute we walked in we were welcomed by a courteous and caring staff. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Is absolutely beautiful. I normally don’t take pictures of hotels, motels or Inns but I’ve got a lot of pictures in this one. I can tell you that every person we came in contact with that worked there was very nice, courteous and always spoke. My daughter and grandson absolutely loved the room, if for some reason I end up back in the area you can believe that the Seven Gables Inn is where we will stay. The food there was amazing, the bar area was fantastic, you would not have to leave the inn if you didn’t want to. Parking was super convenient, just across the street and the parking is less expensive than the hotels in the area. Once you park your car you can walk, shop, eat and sightsee. The rooms were updated and very clean. The shower, heated toilet seat, bidet were all great but the best part of the bathroom at least in a nine-year-old eyes was the TV in the mirror.
Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at Seven Gables Inn! I could go on and on about how wonderful it was, the staff, the food and everything else but you need to check it out for yourself… It was amazing. I love it. ❤️❤️❤️

Worst hotel stay ever. Paper thin floors, you we’re staying on 2nd floor and you can hear every step and noise the 3rd floor makes. The front desk is rarely staffed at all. Called and asked for bathroom to be restocked and came back to see a stack of towels on the floor outside our door. No iron in room. Super small bathroom. The beds are so firm you feel like you’re laying on a concrete slab. The parking garage is across the street about 100 yards away. All this for over $250 a night plus another $9 a night for parking. This place is a joke. Do yourself a favor a stay somewhere else. I’d recommend a Super 8 before I’d recommend this place.

We stayed the weekend at Seven Gables Inn and can’t recommended it enough! Great restaurant! Awesome lobby bar! The rooms are amazing, spacious and beautiful! Every staff person who worked with was kind, helpful and friendly! Can’t wait to stay again!

This hotel was better by far than the hotels I've stayed at in Chicago and they were double this price. Centrally located, the staff are wonderful, and the newly renovated bathrooms are reason alone to visit. We can't wait to go back when it's warmer to sit in the central patio area!

This is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Every time I stay there, Dylan is always helpful and welcoming. My last stay he upgraded my room to a suite. I cannot thank him enough. It was perfect for me since I was there to see my son, my parents, family and friends.

Had a Weddjng party dinner there in 1996. Guest stayed overnight there. Excellent. Great location. Out church was right there, St Josephs in Clayton.

Dinner was fabulous! Lobster Chowder needed a spoon… then I could’ve eaten every last drop.

Exceptional perfection! We shall be repeats! And thanks for EVERYTHING … we are cancelling dinner at Cafe whatever as we have been more than satisfied with your gracious and delicious hospitality … and that suite is too sweet!

Me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary there. I want to thank Jason Thompson the event manager and the rest of the staff members for making is feel like rockstars! The personal touches added to a great experience! Our favorite candy and drinks where waiting in our room! We stayed in the Premium king suit. It was so nice! The room was huge and nicely decorated. The bathroom was cool and had one of those Japanese style toilets! Dinner at Seven did not disappoint. The food was so good! And the service was even better! I completely recommend Seven Gables Inn. Give Jason a call!

The happy hour is fantastic! The Lost Classics menu brings back favorites from some of our beloved restaurants of years gone by. (Remember the voodoo pasta from Crazy Fish and the onion rings from the Parkmoor? Executive Chef Issac is so talented! You’ll love it.

We LOVE the Seven Gables Inn… it is our favorite Place to stay in STL. Great area, close to Shaw Park, A wonderful Crepe Place is within walking distance. We love the old world charm of the Tudor Style Hotel. The Renovations are impressive, the beautiful Courtyard is a plus! The breakfast is fresh and delicious.

The staff is very friendly. My first time here. After a really long day I needed a good meal. My dinner was delicious and I feel like I am home.

Things couldn’t have been better Judy took great care of us. Lots of food for $12.00.

I can honestly not recommend this hotel. We had no Wi-Fi for two days & no working phone to call the disappearing front desk clerk to let her know. When we hunted her down, she said there was nothing she could do until Monday (we checked in Sunday). From no coffee maker in room, to completely overrun with construction debris to no power outlet at the work desk… and on top of that, I had to use my personal hotspot just to get Wi-Fi. You won't get a fridge. You WILL get a couple nasty pieces of uber dark, disgusting chocolate each day because that makes up for everything else. Oh, and toiletries were not restocked.

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night and for a few nights after. This place is amazing. It's beautiful inside and out. We stayed in the Sunset Blvd Suite which was so pretty especially for a newly married couple. It was a perfect size for us with a bedroom area, living space and a very large bathroom. The only downfall is that there isn't an elevator which is helpful when it comes to luggage; there is only stairs, but this didn't bother us. The feel of the hotel is that it is a bit older which makes it cozy. The bedding was so comfortable and the room was very clean! It was perfect walking distance from downtown Clayton, so we were able to walk to a lot of shops and restaurants. The hotel staff could have been slightly friendlier and I was a little bummed that the restaurant on site was closed on Sunday, but overall I would stay here again.

Nice rooms and yummy breakfast. The feel of this inn is charming and unique. The parking is limited though and costs.

Quaint would be the word I'd use. The staff is friendly, the style is sort of Germanic, and the old building and courtyard has an aged charm to it. The little restaurant is pricey but its open until 10 on weekdays! Yes!

Floors hadn't been vacuumed. Room smelled a little funky. Good location and price. Building and rooms have some character.

Reservation states noon check in. Front desk stated I could not check in until after 3:00. Had to pay hrly to park as their 14 parking spaces were full. So far not very convenient… hope the ammenities and room make up for it. Will have to wait 3.5 hrs to figure that out.

Great place, cozy with a unique style. Quaint bar on main floor, appetizer specials everyday and decent menu. There is no elevator or wheelchair ramp at enterace but there are rooms on the first floor. If stairs are a challenge, I recommend requesting a first floor room. Room style is neat and comfortable, although no mini fridge or fans in the bathroom. Staff were amazing and hospitable, would definitely return.

My first visit to St. Louis was amazing while staying here. The ambiance of the inn is something out of this world. They offer complimentary wine when I checked in and breakfast early in the morning. Being a woman, I love bathrooms and omg the one in our room was fantastic. There is a lovely courtyard where I could enjoy a cigarette after dinner and valet parking.

Went here for a work event. Overall it was a really good time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was also really good, and a good variety for a buffet style event. I would recommend using them for professional events in the future.

Very unique historic buliding. Dont ecpect everything to be perfect. It is old and the indide looks like it. Our toilet lid was broke. Still neat.

We checked in 4/29 5AM. It was an emergency check in. We were staying at a family home but one had to find another spot due to a bad allergic reaction from pets. This was the only hotel with vacancies at the time. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by George, the front desk rep. George was helpful, kind and respectful. He gave us a great room with great rates for our 5 night stay. George was understanding about our situation and made our stay a pleasant experience. We come down to STL often and this is definitely the place we will be staying at.

Very friendly and helpful staff, an attached Irish pub with good food and drinks, and rooms with comfy beds and 1920s era charm.

This is a wonderful place to stay. A classy hotel right in the business area with great places to eat. This updated 1926 hotel is beautiful. The room was spacious with a wonderful bathroom. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast that is included is waiting for you in the morning in a beautiful setting. The breakfast was not the make your waffle, it was the best sausages I ever had. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Melvin, a staff person was outstanding in his help with my cousin and I in anything we needed. There is one draw back. Our room was on the third floor and there was not an elevator. After the first hike up the to our room it did not feel so bad. There are landings that you can stop for a rest. It was a wonderful place to stay and we will go back.

The room was really nice, but there were a few problems, not with the room, but with the way the hotel was run. The first problem, my wife and I purchased the Just Because Romance Package, which was ten extra dollars for wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and embossed wine glasses. When asked when we would like them, we replied at eight o’clock. Eight came and went, nothing. I called at eight thirty, they apologized that they forgot and brought them. Except instead of wine, it was champagne and non embossed champagne glasses they had no intention of giving us. I called them again, and they did give us the wine and glasses, and remarked that the wine was getting too expensive to do. I understand that, but you should deliver in what you advertise. Second, there was a wedding using the courtyard for their venue and reception. They placed us in a room directly facing the courtyard, so we got to hear the thumping sounds of generic overplayed wedding dance songs until about eleven. We booked about a week in advance, so I’m pretty sure that the wedding rooms were full before we booked. So why not fill the courtyard rooms first and place the other guests away from it?

The staff at Seven Gables are very nice. In addition, the environment here is lovely. I only gave 4 stars as the staff knows why. However, that being said it is a great place and recommend for those without kiddos.

My Wife and I stayed there in Nov. 2015. It was our wedding night and the Seven Gables helped to make it special. The manager worked with us to give us a great rate to keep things in budget. We got a package that came with chocolate covered strawberries, excellent tasting champaign, and complementary glasses to keep for a wonderful memento. I would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend Seven Gables Inn.

Staff was friendly and happy to accommodate our parking needs (truck towing a car) and also upgraded our room. The building is so charming. The breakfast staff were friendly and the breakfast potatoes were clearly made from scratch. A step above most continental breakfasts.

Room was great, and it's hard to best a complimentary eggs Benedict for breakfeast. However the $17 parking wasn't mentioned upon booking the room and the room also smelled a little musty. Overall would go back, especially in warm weather to eat out on the veranda.

I stayed at the Seven Gables in November 2015 for two nights in a third floor king bedroom. Overall, I'd say it was a decent, if older, boutique hotel. A few notes: — temperature control in the room was excellent. Heating and air was not too loud, ad responded instantly. The water for the sink and shower was plenty hot and had plenty of pressure. — bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom was clean, towels were soft, and soaps, shampoo and other accessories were relatively high end — the toilet had a moderate flush, with a handle that needed replacing. I had to turn it back manually every time it was flushed, and even then, sometimes the toilet would start draining again on its own — shower could use a curved curtain rod. Details. — general lack of power outlets. Only one side of the bed had open power outlets, and then only two. — the place is just old, but that's a part of charm I suppose. Floor in the room a little uneven. — breakfast was average at best. Limited options. Egg and ham croissants and hash browns for hot food were the only option other than a toasted bagel. Some instant oatmeal would have been fantastic. — very friendly and helpful customer service — surprisingly fast Internet, and complimentary to boot Overall, a good boutique hotel. If I wanted to stay in downtown Clayton, I wouldn't be opposed to staying there again.

Large spacious rooms — ours had an alcove drawing room, wide walk-through closet/sink area to the bathroom/shower They leave 2 Ghirardelli chocolates and a bottle of Fiji water for you daily when they make the room Service: — Very friendly staff — Luggage and such are carried via man power — no elevators (3 story building), and no dolly push carts Ambiance: — The place is old and quaint, and a bit musty smelling — A bar on one side of the lobby — A central courtyard that hosts events like wedding rehearsal dinners; it could get noisy if you're just looking to sleep, otherwise it's nice to hear the music from the event, but chatter could get loud depending on the party, and if you're facing the courtyard (I think many rooms do)

I felt the Seven Gables was cute, quaint, and totally charming. Sitting in the outdoor gardens during the complementary cookie, wine and cheese happy hour was so fun and relaxing. The room was nice, comfortable and clean. We biked around the area and went to dinner in the area. The staff was helpful and pleasant. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We had our wedding here and everything was absolutely perfect. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. The food, decorations, the room, all completely amazing. I recommend this place with my whole heart. Everyone who came said it was a beautiful wedding and that they had a marvelous time. Stacey Wallace, the general manager, is a treasure and was very patient and understand. Anyone who wants a unique and wonderful wedding should come here.

We were able to score a last minute deal for $89 per night. The hotel was lovely, quaint, and well kept. The room we stayed in on level 3 was large and the bed was unbelievable comfortable. Continental breakfast included, nothing too special. This is a 1926 original tudor house. There is no elevator.

My husband surprised me with a stay at the Seven Gables for our wedding anniversary. My first impression was 'Wow, what a beautiful building! ' and the interior as well as the pub-style restaurant continued to impress. My husband was disappointed that our room on the first floor did not have a view of the inner courtyard as was stated at booking but was rather a dark room with a window that opened to a noisy and unattractive alleyway. The bed was comfortable but the a/c ran continuously (not a big deal for someone like me who needs a little white noise to sleep). Unfortunately the guests above us were loud throughout the night and we could hear every stomp and movement. The highlight of our stay was the meal in the courtyard; it was reminiscent of a recent vacation we took to the UK with the ivy climbing the stone walls and wrought iron dining tables/chairs. The menu was typical lunch pub fare (salads, sandwiches, etc) with a few dinner items and the drink menu was extensive. Would have liked more entree choices. The continental breakfast was disappointing and left much to be desired. The website states 'hot breakfast choices' but the only hot item was some sort of cream cheese croissant that was dried out and had been sitting out for hours. The four-star rating is simply due to the aesthetics/European charm and the attentiveness of our server at Molly Darcy's.

I traveled for business and had a meeting 2 blocks away. In the heat of summer, that short walk in make-up and high heels was looking grim. I lamented my fate as the manager checked me in and she immediately offered to DRIVE me to my meeting in her car. Unbelievable. She not only gave me door to door service. But the service at Seven Gables Inn was five star in every way. If you have the opportunity to stay here. Consider yourself lucky. The restaurant/pub is terrific too.

We were looking for something different than a standard hotel and this fit the bill. Historic charm/feel, excellent staff, and good location make it a great stay in addition to clean rooms that are spacious (king suite). The continental breakfast was nice as well. Travelers should note that there isn't an elevator, this didn't matter for us and didn't affect our stay/review. There is a parking fee, but the lot is come and go as you need to during your stay. We checked in, went out for the evening, and had a pleasant time the rest of our stay when we returned.

The chain hotels can be a bit boring, The Seven Gables is quite the cute little surprise! Although I would have liked a coffee maker in the room, everything else was 5 star class all the way. The staff were wonderful and inviting, the beds were heavenly, not to mention the flat screen with all the channel options. I travel every other week, so to find a hotel that can offer something a little different, more private, with a feel of home was wonderful! I would recommend this hotel to any business traveler looking for something a little different, maybe a couple skipping away for a retreat, or someone young looking to be in a city feel without paying downtown St. Louis prices. P. S. To call the food in the bistro scrumptious is an understatement. Simply a wonderful quaint hotel.
