We went here because of the great reviews but had a terrible experience. First off there was no parking in the inns lot so we had to park in the lot across the street and had to pay $20 for it for less than 24 hours. Secondly when we got to our room it smelled terribly of smoke. We went to the front desk and we were not allowed to move rooms and told to simply open a window (even though I am allergic to tobacco). That would have been okay except on one of our windows not only was there no screen, there was also cracked glass on the window. The beds were disgusting. Stains all over the sheets, there was not fitted sheet on the bed so anytime you moved the mattress was exposed. The only nice thing was that the hotel itself was very quiet. Will not be returning.

Location was nice, not so nice that the parking was an extra cost. But the beds were super comfy! And the room was clean and cozy when we arrived. The staircase was super cool and the staff was amazingly nice and helpful!

Polite staff. Room was okay. My car was broken into in their parking lot and they had no security footage despite signs saying so. No wonder Jeffrey Dahmer killed people here.

We didn't stay at the ambassador inn at marquette we stayed at the ambassador inn and really enjoyed our stay and it's very beautiful.

Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. From checking in to parking and everything in between we had problems that were out of our control, and yet the staff wanted to make us responsible for them. For instance when we tried to park in the designated parking lot and the lot was full, the receptionist claimed that I would have to pay to park across the street at the main hotel. I politely asked him to not charge us because it is definitely not our fault. He reluctantly agreed with a lot of attitude and yet the final bill still had a parking fee! Also when we first checked in we were given the wrong key to the wrong room. Which resulted in numerous trips up and down from the lobby to the room, no one apologized and the receptionist leisurely got us one card and carelessly tossed it at us as if we caused the problem. Also the hotel is definitely in a sketchy area with a lot drug addicts and weirdos hanging around. Just an overall bad time.

Stayed here from the 5th to 7th of this month. Room was very clean and so was the bathroom. There was no remote for the tv, but no worries because either I went on Youtube or was at two of the Cubs vs Brewers games. Will definitely come back in the near future.

This hotel was booked through an online app. They charged for parking that wasn’t disclosed on the app. The hotel was very outdated and had a moldy smell. The carpet was old and the elevator was very old and a bit sketchy. For the price there are much better hotels in the area.

Staff are nice good coffee good breakfast room overall very comfy.

Served its purpose as a place to sleep after a concert. Pissed that their website says they have suites, thought I was booking a suite, turned out they only have one size room and their website is BS. The whole place stinks like an old ashtray and half of everything (lamps, TV shows, safe, etc) didn't work in both rooms we were occupying. Every time we were in the lobby guests were at the front desk to complain of things not working in their rooms as well.

Certainly not first class, but not a slum either. It's a safe place to sleep. Guess that's what's important.

They charge me for things that I did not use like a refrigerator and drinking a Redbull $40 over my original bill then when I called they immediately apologized and said that it was a computer error SMH the hotel is beautiful I give it that but I booked my room and I was told that I had to pay to have a microwave in my room $20 more on top of my bill. This will make you pay more than what I paid for.

Good service and as good of accomodations as you'd expect for the price. Rooms aren't anything special, but they work for a night.

Nice hotel, close to the Rave. Friendly staff. However, they need more pillows and blankets. We stayed to see excision at the rave, and both hotels ran out of pillows and blankets.

The Ambassador is a great place. We hosted an event there and it was a fantastic venue.

Check in was quick, all of the staff were very friendly, our room was clean, and the inn is located only a block from The Rave/Eagles Club where I got to see KESHA live! It was a memorable night, and I loved being so close to an amazing venue!

I enjoyed the art-deco style of the building, the room was large and clean, the service was pleasant, and the shuttle service is a useful bonus. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was overly slow, the television was too quiet even at full volume, and the Chromecast did not work properly because of the Wi-Fi issue and the hotel media system placed between it and the tv. In conclusion, the hotel was good, but the TV and internet were not.

It turned out to be a great time everybody was polite that work there. And I would definitely stay there again.

The service at the Ambassador Hotel was great! We had to wait for a few minutes when checking in, so the host gave us a free parking pass. The room was very clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the old feel to the hotel.

Geougeous lobby! Main building is top notch. Amazing antique fixtures the likes of which ive never seen. But, avoid building across street… not pretty.

One of our beds was missing the fitted sheet, the TV volume at its loudest was too quiet to hear much of anything, there was barely any coffee or other breakfast items at the breakfast are in the morning, mysterious marks on the bathroom wall (makeup? blood? ), and the shower curtain was filthy. Also, there was a message light blinking on the phone in our room, and staff Was unable to tell us how to check it. Nice enough staff, though.

This place is pretty dingy. It's clean enough, but for another 50$ you can stay at the hotel across the street, which is way cleaner and much nicer. It wasn't a place you'd be wise to walk around in barefooted. The check in guy was odd our first day, not really polite and rather unwelcoming. It is within walking distance from the rave, if your there to see a show. The paid parking lot was full and we couldn't park there although we paid. Wouldn't stay here again, next time I'd be at the hotel.

Great place to stay for the night if coming from out of town to see a concert at The Rave or going to a Brewers game.

! BEWARE OF BED BUGS! ******** I did not enjoy my stay. First, I was told that a package I had sent to the hotel would be brought up to my room, but after 2 hours, I went down to talk to the front desk people. The guy there told me that I could walk across the street (which does not have a cross-walk) and see if they had my package at their main property, the Ambassador Hotel. When I asked if he could perhaps call over to see if they had it, he gave me their phone number. He was very rude. Later, when I returned with my package, he said with the most saccharine tone "oh wonderful you found your package! " Very rude dude. The next day, I found a greasy, grimy bed bug crawling around on my blanket. I should have known the room had bed bugs because the mattresses were crinkly when we sat on them (they had those plastic mattress bags on them). Keep this in mind if you decide to stay here. This bed bug was VERY alive. You know when there's one bed bug there's bound to be others. After quelling my rage & disgust, I went to the front desk to ask if I could speak with a manager. I was told "there is no manager on this property, you have to walk across the street to our main property, the Ambassador Hotel. " I finally spoke to a manager across the street, who was friendly and reimbursed me for my stay after I showed him physical evidence of the bed bug (caught in an ice box liner! ). Weird & gross experience for how much I had originally paid.

This "Inn" is disgusting! I called and made reservations for two rooms, leaving my credit card info for them to hold the rooms (07/15/15), I show up the next day and only get one room, with no explanation as to what happened to the other room. Oh well. I paid for the one room in cash. On the 07/17/15 I go online and check my credit card statement and to my surprise I was charged for a room I didn't receive! That same day I call the hotel and speak with a manager, who assured me they would credit my card for the room I wasn't given. A few days go by, and they credited my card. A few more days go by, I check my credit card statement online again, and again they have charged me for the room I didn't get! Again, I call and speak with a manager, who once again assures me they will credit my card back (we'll see since this happened today). As for the hotel, the bathroom stunk of urine, the ceiling was covered in water stains, the linens were dirty and the walls are paper thin, so good luck getting any sleep. The parking lot for the hotel is across the street and let me assure you that you will be accosted by numerous homeless people begging for anything they can get. One homeless man asked me if I was looking to "score" some drugs, as I'm walking from the parking lot to the hotel with my 8 year-old son and my mother!

Hotel Very well put together hotel with a artistic/historical feel. Modern is its own way, but still reminds you of the long history tied to it. The elevators are older by having the close door act as a push door rather than an automated sliding one. It does have a basic gym in the basement level and no pool nor hot tub. However, the office center is excellent as well as the presentation room if you plan on meeting any clients at your hotel rather than in the office. Staff Throughout my three day, 2 night, stay, all of the employees that I dealt with including my complaints for having a late breakfast were so forgiving, professional, and extremely friendly. However, the night staff is not the same. I called down to the desk to adjust my delivery time for by breakfast to an hour earlier and I felt as if he was pushing me off the phone with short responses such as "yup, alright, whatever, sure, no problem, see ya. " This was a rather large disappointment in comparison to the great service I received throughout the day. Cleanliness Room clean, no smell, no smoke, no leftover residue. Blacklight test A+. Food Expensive, as you would expect, but the grilled cheese is actually a great afternoon/late night item to order. I also ordered a steak for dinner one night and that was a delight. Snacks are provided in the room via a mini bar, but those two will kill the bank really fast.

OUTSTANDING! Based on a referral I chose to stay at the Ambassador Hotel in Milwaukee. I was there on business. I normally stay at the hotels I get points! WELL. They wow'd me! I am Gold ststus with another chain and have never been wow'd like this before. Everyone from food service to the Lounge have been wonderful. Not the greatest neighborhood but worth the stay. This is my 3rd night and the wow has not gone away! When in Milwaukee I am willing to forfeit the points for service. Thank you and great job! Ed Safko.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. I just spent 3 nights here and I have no reason to complain whatsoever. I especially liked the free shuttle service into downtown (which isn't very far). I would always stay here again.

We're in the process of cleaning up and taking preventative measures at home after a bed bug infestation was discovered in one of the rooms where my wife was staying. She was moved to a separate room for the evening, which was accommodating. Make sure you check the furniture and beds before making yourself comfortable for the evening. I understand in transient accommodations, things like this happen. Hopefully it's not a wider issue at this location, and they can get it under control.

Long story short. Worst hotel in the city of milwaukee. If you want good service, try to book ANYWHERE but this hotel. Long story — I live on the east coast and I booked a night at the Ambassador Inn approximately 2 months in advance using a credit card. About a month before my reserved date, there were some fraudulent charges on my credit card leading to my bank cancelling my card and sending me a new one. The evening before my reservation, at 6:30, I get an email from the Ambassador Inn asking me to fill out a survey as to why I cancelled my reservation. I quickly called the hotel to ensure they were mistaken. Sadly, they were not. They explained to me that they tried to charge my credit card (yes, charge it the night before) and it would not go through so THEY CANCELLED MY RESERVATION. Yes. They cancelled my reservation and gave it away the night before while the entire city of Milwaukee was booked. They told me they called me. Yea, sure. They called me while I was in the plane without reception. And guess what, they didn't have any other rooms available. I offered another credit card, I did everything — they wouldn't help me in any way, shape or form. They didn't even give me a different hotel recommendation. I called the entire city of Milwaukee looking for a room since I had nowhere to stay. Everyone was booked. I finally called the Marriott (which was 350 a night). I told the manager the story — they were just as mortified as I was.

Amazing service, retro feel, tasty food.

First off, the service at the Ambassador Hotel is excellent. Everything is taken care of and all of the staff are polite. The best amenity would have to be the complementary shuttle service. While in town, we only had to use the car twice out of about 15 trips to local attractions, etc. Jim, the shuttle driver, is amazing; we really enjoyed riding along with him. The hotel has been beautifully restored and the rooms were nicely appointed. The food at Envoy was very good for a hotel, and I would eat there for dinner or lunch if I lived in Milwaukee. Don't believe the critics, because none of it is true — — we stayed several nights. There was no trouble or feeling of insecurity. My car was the most expensive in the secured lot, and there were no worries of it being broken into.

Stayed overnight here for Valentine's Day. Room and romance package was a nice deal. The only disappointment was at Envoy. The food was excellent, but we had to wait forever for it along with waiting to be seated (30 minutes with reservation) beverages/salad. Etc. Our waiter looked like he was having a really rough night, he knocked my fiancé's water glass over and it went right into my lap. One other table who also had the same waiter was complaining to a (manager? ) about his service as well. At this point we were just so fed up that we paid the bill and just left. When he went to give us the bill and give it back after he paid (which was the fasted service we had gotten all night I might add! ) He didn't even say "Thank You! Have a great night folks! " Nothing. He just dropped the bill and walked away. To be honest I wanted to talk to the manager and voice my concerns, but she was nowhere to be seen. Overall I probably wont go here again, which is too bad because it seems like a nice place. But bad service always kills it for me.

Now I see some of these positive reviews are fake. I was had. The lobby smells like a bum was sleeping behind the service desk. He/she might have even been dead for a few days. It seriously reeks. The elevator is tiny. I felt like I was in a double wide coffin. The hallway carpet has stains. One particularly big one. I guess it happens but combined with all the other issues it just seemed to add to the funk. The room was surprisingly better. It didn't smell as bad, although I caught the stench of the lobby when I got in bed. It was in the sheets. The bathroom walls are cracking, the drain plug is broken, the shower head is not on right and the travel size shampoo supplied by the room was half empty. The counter had coffee spillage on it and there was a single use eye dropper on the coffee maker — that was gross. As a side note we had dinner at the Ambassador across the street the night before. It didn't reek and dinner at the bar was awesome. I had grilled cheese and my fiends had pizza and a burger. We all loved everything, although the flambe cherry dessert was too pricey for its size. But it was very good. We also had breakfast there, which was horrible. I had eggs Benedict and my friend had a medium rare steak. The steak was very rare and my egg yolks were stiff — not the slightest bit runny as they should be. This was too expensive for the poor quality. All of our potatoes were stiff and not microwaved (as it seemed) long enough.

DONT RISK IT! The comforters are stained. The toilet makes a LONG LOUD screaming noise when you flush them. When we tried to check out early the staff would not accommodate us even though we were willing to stay at their other hotel across the street.
