What a charming place! The hotel feels historic when you walk in, but everything is absolutely outstanding in terms of amenities. The bed is fantastic and the courtyard is a wonderful spot to hang out. I will absolutely be staying here again!

The Rochester Hotel is an amazing bed and breakfast and a great spot to visit while in Durango Colorado. Shay greeted us warmly and the breakfast was amazing. Patio area is a great place to relax and sip wine! The entire staff has been so friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of great restaurants and shops.

Do not book this hotel. Was not told of total charge being rammed through when I made my reservation by phone. Email came letting me know there would be a no cancellation policy (NOT STATED AS SUCH ON WEBSITE). When we got sick with the flu and could not travel the clerk laughed and told us they had no booking because there is no snow, that that was why they changed their policy for the holiday. This is the most expensive place in town and they change their policy at will, to rip you off. FIND ANOTHER HOTEL, I would not ever trust this property. Do not book here. Went as far as to take over a month to respond and then posted on trip advisor that they “hoped” the gift certificate they sent me would take care of it. Wrong. You stole from me. I have a $4300 hospital bill to send you since you think guests lie. Pray you don’t get the flu and then have to deal with people like you.

This place feels so historic. They've done a nice job with gorgeous glassware, great on site food prep, and indulgent service. Occasionally the physical space feels small, however. I'll be back~

We stayed here for 5 days culminating in our wedding in the secret garden on Saturday. The hotel is incredible. Historic and very cozy! The staff is amazing! The owner takes great pride in his hotel. The breakfast is tasty and filling. There's a new hot dish every day and fresh fruit and fresh baked muffins, scones, bread. Made our wedding day that much more special.

Fantastic breakfast, comfortable and spacious rooms, and a cute bar. My husband and I had a blast here, and spent some time talking to the owners — such kind people! We’ll be back!

There are several hotels in this area that cater to frequent visitors, I Am airline crew and there is a vast difference of convenience quality cleanliness and variety not to mention price compared to the Valero that's maybe a hundred yards away.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfortable and felt historic, like the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was great too.

Rochester has excellent accommodations and welcoming atmosphere. Try to come on Wednesdays for music in the garden. Outstanding!

Excellent place to stay. Friendly staff. Clean room. Pet friendly. Excellent breakfast and not to mention home made pastries and granola. We will never stay anywhere else but here. We absolutely loved it.

This is our second night of a three night stay. It is wonderfully situated above the main tourist area, but a short walk to Main Street, great restaurants, and the train. It is quaint, quiet, and clean. Breakfasts are delicious.

Wonderful Experience. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great varied hot breakfasts. Our room was spacious and well appointed. You can't beat the location. Its within close walking distance of the heart of downtown. We will definitely be returning next time in town. Thank You Rochester :)

A charming piece of history. A hidden gem if you will. Quiet and close to everything. I find staying in places such as this way more appealing than the typical hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff. Fresh home made breakfast every morning. Free coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and treats in the afternoons. Spent our honeymoon here, loved every minute!

I love this place! I travel to Durango for work here and there, and the staff and owner are always so friendly and kind and really just go out of their way to take care of me. The nature of my work is such that sometimes I have to extend my stay at the last minute, and they really go above and beyond to make sure I can continue staying there. The breakfast is awesome (and the breakfast ladies are super friendly), the "secret garden" patio area is lovely, and they even have bikes you can take out for free. Rooms are well-appointed and generally quiet. If you're in a street room, you can usually hear some pedestrian traffic in the daytime, but it typically quiets down very quickly at night.

Loved it! Incredibly friendly staff, beautifully decorated, comfortable, yet down to earth. A place of movie history with vivid photos from today's Four Corners sights. Breakfast was delicious! We'll be back.

I own a business and work with alot of women. One thing that immediately impressed me was that this place was run and operated by strong, independent, confidant woman. From the property manager, to the lady that took our bags and the chef that made our breakfast, you could see the pride in every person's effort. I left there satisfied and impressed.

We had a great stay. The room was spacious and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet at night. The free loaner bikes made it easy to explore the town. Parking in Durango in the evening could be a nightmare but fortunately the staff reserved us a parking spot. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is one of the best stays at any hotel I've ever had. The rooms are adorable, and clean. The staff is amazing in all respects, and I kid you not they have two professional grandmas on staff. Free breakfast, free cookies, free iced tea, and Free rental bikes. This place is absolutely worth every single penny.

We visited Durango to ride bikes in the river trail over the weekend and we borrowed bikes from the Rochester Hotel. We had an amazing time, thank you Rochester!

Beautiful hotel with some history. Good breakfast, friendly staff, free Wi-Fi and parking… what else do you need?

Wonderful. Clean and quiet and the breakfast was remarkably good. We were in a larger room in the Leland and they added a roll away cot for our third child. We were able to walk next door to the Cypress Cafe for an excellent dinner. Staff very friendly.

Historic and comfortable. The service is excellent. It's like stepping back in time. I love it.

We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas. Yes, the pet-friendly room and bathroom were very small compared to the large modern hotel we left in Telluride. This is a HISTORIC hotel, however, and a lot of effort was made to modernize and provide luxurious amenities without losing that. The gourmet breakfast was fabulous each day and the location was one block from the great shops and galleries. Even their house wine was delicious. The owner was present each day to address concerns. Nice hotel!

My experience here was excellent! I was here for around 12 hours, and the hotel made a huge impression on me in that short a time. The room and bed were very comfortable and quiet, the overall hotel was intensely cute and charming, and the staff were incredibly friendly — they made me feel like I was at my kindest relative's house. The food was very tasty and made either in-house or locally, and I love the green hotel/natural products philosophy they hold and operate by. The location is also ideal — right in the heart of fantastic restaurants and a lively, but small-town (cute, but not obnoxious), downtown area.
