Hotel is fine — nothing horrible but a few issues on our two night stay. Our bathtub wouldn’t drain and when we showered lots of sand/dirt came up out of the drain — pretty gross. We notified the front desk and it was semi-fixed. Still drained slow but no more dirt. When we went to bed, two dogs barked for almost an hour. Overall, walls seemed super thin as between the dogs and general parking lot noise no one slept well (not an issue we typically have at most hotels). Hotel is generally a bit dated but location is convenient. Would I choose it again in Durango? Nope. Was it fine? Sure.

We stay at the DoubleTree whenever we are in town. It has a really neat rustic feel. The rooms are nice and clean, and the front desk staff always had a smile and was right there to help us. We got free shuttle rides to and from Durango airport, and to the far end of downtown so we didn’t have to walk quite as far. It’s right up against the beautiful Animas river, and there’s a paved path you can take pretty walks on. We will see you the next time we’re in town!

Had drinks on rhe patio and the swtting was very nice by rhe river with great service.

Food was delicious and the service was good. We really enjoyed the patio.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Booked the room 5 minutes prior to our stay, and they had a quiet room with a river view available. They are so ridiculously accommodating; when I asked the from desk if that had a humidifier it was delivered within 3 minutes. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Would give more than 5 stars if possible and would definitely love to stay here again.

Popped in for a quick drink at the bar with some friends and family while visiting Durango. Interior is a lovely all-wood affair that's been renovated. Definitely remniscient of the early-mid 1900s decor. The bar opens up to a view of the river and even has a small patio, which is lovely. I think there were about 6 taps, okay variety of beer, but would have preferred to see more local stuff, rather than Goose Island. Decent range of liquor options — saw a few decent single malt whiskys and other goodies. All in all, a nice little spot, rather quiet on the Saturday evening that we were in for. Wouldn't mind popping in again.

The premises is wonderful. Everything was clean. The river view room was very relaxing. Spent 3 very comfortable nights.

Perfectly located next to Animas River trails. Go for river side view rooms if you want a scenic view. Loved the stay and ambience.

Exceeded our expectations. By far the nicest place we've stayed. Everything you want in a first rate hotel. Friendly staff, detailed ammenities, especially loved the riverside rooms with deck verandas. Nice pool. Hot tub has no shoulder jets though it was great on lower back. Delicious food in riverside view resturant, shopping botique, fresh warm cookies served at free coffee bar and high end comfortable beds. We went for one night and ended up staying 4 nights. We will be back soon. Thank you all for a wonderful time!

Beautiful hotel, right on the river. Very attentive to customers. Watch out for the raccoons, the hotel feeds them well!

Horrible customer service since my last visit here. Maybe my complexion was off today or maybe my credit card was not as shiny as the rest of the people who checked in. But im pretty much upset how my check-in concluded. I think natives are not welcome here. Hopefully I can sleep. But the facility is gorgeous! And the river is mesmerising! Thanks to the water I may calm down and be reasonable later. But untill then, i'll just suck it up.

The worst place for the money. Nice decor, other than that this place is horrible. Nothing like the online pictures. So dissapointed that I rented another room from the room I was checked into. Called front desk told them how upset I was with the whole thing, packed up and left. They did not reimburse me.

It was great, only problem was getting through the throngs of whatever convention was going on to get to my room.

Beautiful setting, great staff, and very clean. Kids enjoyed the salt water pool.

The view from my room was breath taking. Just a wonderful experience throughout.

The hospitality is amazing right from the start. We enjoyed our service as much as we enjoyed the town. Would recommend to any friends and family!

This used to be a wonderful place to stay until they remodeled now it's got stick Furniture like a Motel 6 the rooms are empty cold and uninviting I'm ready to turn in my Hilton Honors there have been too many negative situations with Hilton lately cannot trust the name anymore we're actually going to look for other hotels and Durango tomorrow cannot stay here it's been a day since I posted this I wound up staying at the hotel and now I want to bump it up to three and a half Stars the hot tub and swimming pool area were impeccably clean and water temperature for both hot tub and pool were perfection.

Always consistent, good hotel, Hilton experience. They've removed a few little touches I used to love but some new remodeling is nice.

Double Tree restaurant is very disappointing. Our family had Christmas dinner there yesterday. Menu selection very poor, service inadequate, very expensive. Meal was served within 7 mins. Of ordering, couldn't have been cooked there. Entree was served first, then the salad. Received some wrong items, cold items, and dessert was frozen! Save your time and your money.

Very friendly staff. Location right on the Animas River can't be beat. Downtown Durango and all the restaurants and shops, along with the train depot are only 2 blocks away. Walk or use the hotel's free shuttle. The free shuttle also serves guests flying in from the airport. This is a nice hotel with access to all the attractions. It is also one of the pricier places to stay.

We've been coming to Durango for years! Double Tree is a wonderful family and pet friendly hotel with all you need in a hotel. Staff are Always helpful and the river views are beautiful! Never have been disappoint! Worth checking it out.

The staff were friendly upon check in. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The salt water pool was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning again.

Beautiful hotel. Not the most expensive in town but it is the nicest. Views off my balcony up and down the river in fall.

The stay was great. Friendly staff, clean rooms and nice amenities. It's hard not to like the river walk and Animas river flowing right behind the hotel. Go get some flies wet.

Love the DoubleTree hotels! Great location right near downtown Durango. Staff are always great. Rooms are adequate and feature a plug on the lamp base for convenience. Coffee and leftover cookies in the lobby in the morning seal the deal.

Beautiful four star hotel. Everything you expect from Double Tree, and a super super convenient spot walking distance from downtown.

This one I like! West side: A river flowing alongside the hotel with a walk/bike path. East side: morning comes with the mountains & trains come/go that you can hear/see. My stay: Pleasant, comfortable & clean. Great check in staff & nice house cleaning staff. If we wanted to upgrade our room, the front desk was happy to give us that. It was my first time in Durango & I look forward to going back, I would stay here again.

The shower was heavenly! After a long, dirty day riding the train, covered in coal dust from head to toe, I could have stayed in the shower the rest of the night. The Riverview King room was large, clean, and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was great, as was all the service Hotel location was perfect, right by the Animas River and River trail, and just across Hwy 550 from downtown's shops, restaurants, and Train. Great place to stay.

Poor selection of menu, service was lacking and prices high. Not recommended.

Was clean and had a decent indoor pool. Was right next to and had a great view of the river. There is a walking path that traveled along it that let you wave at rafters. Other hotel residents often confused our ground level room for theirs.

Nice but not worth the huge expense.

This review is for the delightful, often-overlooked restaurant. Really good food. Helpful, friendly staff. Nice river views. Cozy. Music on occasion. Check it out.

Very nice hotel. Views from the riverside room are awesome. Service is outstanding. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The service at the cafe and restaurant is great, and the food not bad.

Nice comfortable room, clean, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the river. Indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi was very nice as well.

☆☆☆☆☆Loved this place, took my wife and 3 boys and we all had a wonderful time. Close to the river and walking distance to historic Durango district. Will definitely be back in the summer. And Albertsons is right next door if you need anything.

Rooms are nice and staff is friendly. Maid service is not the best… left trash in the room. Shower dosent drain properly but other than that has been a great stay.

Nice hotel. The beds are super comfy and the bathroom and shower are nice with two sinks. The rest of the furniture in the room is very high quality as well. Also the cookies are tasty.

It was fantastic. I was there for a company Christmas party and the staff did an absolutely amazing job. They kept everybody very entertained and the food was great.

What a great location for a hotel! It is within walking distance of downtown and is right next to the river. The rooms are pet friendly which is great if you travel with your dogs. The breakfast is excellent, however, I only recommend it if you are a HHonors Gold member who gets free breakfast otherwise, it would be expensive.

The rooms were amazingly clean and well kept. The restaurant downstairs has wonderful food and the staff was all very friendly. The exercise room was a little small, but the pool and hot tub made up for it. All in all, it was a wonderful experience at a great place.

Service was good, rooms were large, spacious and quiet. The elevator was broken, so it ducked having to lug everything up to the fourth floor.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and roomy, It had a balcony which was fun at night. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful property. Stayed in balcony river view room. Great and peaceful view of Animas River. Only downfall is you pay so much for the room but not offered a free hot breakfast like the other Hilton one mile down the road. Cleaning staff knocked on our door first at 10:30 and then again at 12:00. Check out is 12:00. Annoying. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. You're paying for the convenience to the train, downtown and river. Stay down the road at the other Hilton property to get a lower price, nicer room and huge hot complimentary breakfast.

Great location, really helpful front desk staff, amazing shuttle service, patios that open to the river are amazing and they are they encourage motorcycles to park under the well lit covered check in area!

Had a great stay here, staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Daughter left her favorite stuffed animal in the hotel and after searching for about 4 days we decided to call hotel to see if MAYBE they had found it. They looked and called us back, they had it there and were shipping it to us right away. Never ever had a hotel do this for me or my family. Great hotel, will book again real soon.

Probably the most pleasant stay I have ever had at a hotel. And I have been in MANY hotels.

Hotel is awful! Over priced and small rooms. No complimentary breakfast, only fifteen different TV channels. Staff is rude and rooms are dirty.

Great staff, very clean, the lounge has an excellent view,,,,, but you better like the look of oak.

Clean and comfortable. Overlooked parking lot, which allowed a great sunrise experience. Skipped the breakfast buffet and ordered an omelette that was tasty and much cheaper. Hot tub was not really hot. Wasn't terrible, but just wasn't great, either. Yep. I'd stay again.

We loved everything about this hotel! Within walking distance of the Durango/Sliverton Train, dining, shopping and a Albertson's was right next door. We had a great room w/balcony that over looked the Animas River with a hike and biking trail. Very comfortable beds and very clean! The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful which made our stay a great one. We are already planning our next trip to the Durango/Sliverton area and we will be staying here our entire trip and making day trips to Silverton/Ouray. We highly recommend this hotel.

All in all, this is a nice place. Durango, in general, is more of an older town with the small town America feel. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only moderate amenity was the pool area. The hot tub was kind of foamy and not warm enough. I'd definitely stay there again.

The breakfast buffet was poorly managed. They were out of the Salmon bagel that I ordered so I got in line for an omelet and waited and waited. All the ingredients were low so the chef was going to go to get more. The customer in front of me asked him if someone else could stock the ingredients for him since there was a line. He didn't seem to get this concept so the customer found the manager herself and asked her to assist him. They also ran out of waffles and my family waited about 15 minutes for more to be made. We were then charged for our 5 year old who was supposed to be free so we had to wait again for that to be adjusted. Food was good, just poorly managed.
