The staff (Theo) was great the rooms were comfortable we would still there again. Thanks for the champagne and chocolate for my husband birthday we really enjoyed ourselves.

A 2 star hotel for an area that is very very sketchy, would not recommend. San Francisco is crazy, the prices of cheap hotels are so inflated that this places seems like a good option but no it’s not. Very creepy industrial rooms and underwhelming conditions.

The building itself is a lil run down looking from the outside, as is most everything downtown, but the inside it really nice. There was champagne in the lobby and they gave us a free upgrade into a suite. It was a really nice experience staying there. Lowest price I could find anywhere in the city that weekend too…

I'm not sure I'd say the rooms are "ultra-modern"… They can definitely use some updating, new rugs, better lighting & storage, etc. The junior suite fit our needs, having a fridge and a small wet bar was nice. Can't say enough about the staff, they were FABULOUS, friendly, helpful. The area was convenient to public transportation but be warned that you might get hassled. Free champagne every day was a great bonus!

Check in was very easy. We arrived early and the room was ready. Great location! It is next to Union Square and close to very thing. The building is little old and very small. Room was clean. Staff were friendly. FYI, There was an extra $20 per night cost added for whatever tax.

The room was clean but very small (don't be given the lofts). Downstairs was the bed and upstairs the bathroom reached by a spiral staircase. The bed is positioned close to the air conditioner and the spiral staircase so it is difficult to get into bed. Under the spiral staircase was placed a non-functioning fridge and coffee machine. Also at night we couldn't sleep due to the loud noises coming from inside the hotel (it looked like someone was moving). They don't have private parking and rely on one in the area charging you dizzy sums (and they don't have the fare per hour. Once you've relied on the car, you pay 55 dollars excluding taxes, whether it's 1 hour or a whole day. ) I recommend taking your car to one of the private car parks in the adjacent crossing that makes you park at half price.

The location is very convenient to just about anything you'd need, and the room is very spacious and clean. The bathroom is smaller than a typical hotel, but what do you expect from a building in a large city? My only real "complaint" is that my room has very little light on the one side. It's not a big deal, especially during the day when there is TONS of natural light! I'm on the back side of the building, so my window looks out into an alley and only about 12' across is another row of hotel windows. Overall, a decent, relatively cheap city hotel.

Great little hotel reasonable rates for San Fran. In the heart of everything which makes it convenient to get around the city. Have stayed here many time while visiting the city and or off to wine country.

So disappointed. We stayed for 2 nights from April 24-26. The room was so incredibly small and the bathroom was literally a closet. I figured that’s city hotels. Whatever. The table lamp didn’t work for makeup or working and there were no outlets in the room. Just a power strip behind the bed where I could plug my phone charger into. Our room had absolutely no view; just faced a wall and into another room’s window. It was in the very back of the hotel on the 6th floor after twists and turns and uneven flooring in the hallway. We had our little 4 month old with us so it was so annoying having to walk so far with her and all our belongings. But this is where it gets bad. I usually NEVER take my things out of my bag unless it’s a long dress or something that needs to be hung. But I decided to put some folded clothes into the small dresser. Big mistake. I forgot them in our rush to make a wedding in Santa Cruz and forgot them in there. I called when we got there a few hours later and was told by the front desk that nothing was written on the housekeeping checklist for the room. I knew I had left them and was concerned about the lack of thorough checking and/or cleaning of the room. Called again later and was told they would check. Never heard back. Called again and asked to speak to housekeeping. Left a message and finally got a call back and explained the situation. I will say the housekeeping manager was very kind and apologetic.

It's walkable to the ball park and I slept very well. I think I need to get the brand of pillow they use. The room itself was interesting. A little lived in but still nice. The staff was friendly and the Wi-Fi worked. I would stay here again.

Well located in San Francisco and friendly concierge speaks French but parking nearby very expensive unless you do not take out your vehicle every day.

Very good experience. The hotel has a coffee maker and refrigerator.

Staff helpful and kind. At 5 pm free glass of champagne. Bed comfortable. Toiletries good quality. The building itself needs to be painted and better cared. Black carpets don't look very clean. There is zero decoration or ambience. The lobby needs serious work.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom spacious and clean.
The only bad thing was going cold inside the room. The windows didn't seal well.

Pretty standard hotel with a great location and very friendly staff. I read a lot of reviews saying the rooms were small but I did not find that to be the case. The room was a great size, the king size bed was huge. The room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job every day. We had an alley view which isn't too exciting but we had almost no noise at night, which I much prefer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us find parking and pick restaurants and tours. The location was the best part in my opinion.

Great location, staff and room sizes. First time staying in this hotel for business travel. Though this is not a "business" hotel in the traditional sense, it had more than what I needed to get work done and be within walking distance to meetings for a couple of nights. The only issue I had on the first night was room location which was street facing and a bit noisy for my taste. But Christina at the front desk was more than happy to help me move rooms. If traveling for business, my only suggestion is to notare that if you are a light sleeper. Thanks again!

Pictures look a lot better than actual. Room was dirty. Layout makes no sense. Bathroom is small and tight. Location is next to bad area with lots of homeless. Front desk service is good. Prices are not cheap. Not a good value. Will not go back.

Good: great location. Close to transit. Fair enough price. Nice concierge and evening wine. Bad: Room a little rough. Supposed queen bed really felt like a double. Uneven shower tub floor, likely from botched repair. Room was an alley view that was loud with people collecting bottles and trash. Thin ceilings as you can hear people moving above. Overall: did the trick for budget SF.

I only stopped in to talk to a friend. I guess she decor was ok. It was cute seemed clean enough. I didn't use any services so I can't speak to them.

Decent hotel. Prime location around Union Square, lots of different restaurant types right outside the hotel. Staff was very pleasant and always greeted me as I left and entered the building. The room was just ok. Large bathroom and desk. Hot water was a bit of a struggle in the morning and the sink was in the main room, not the bathroom. Floor was very loud, uneven and is in need of replacing. You get what you pay for.

The hotel has good location. But the downside is the rooms is very expensive page 303 us at night there for those rooms so small and with bad smell and so much noise outside. The truth would not return.

Central and modern Hotel. Surrounded by bars and theatres and two blocks from Union Square. Comfortable room Although the bed is somewhat small. Small bathroom. The whole design of the hotel is modern. It also has two blocks to a neighborhood for the best not to spend at night (tenderloin) Care! ¡! The Wi-Fi is not included and when you check out you will be charged!

I stayed one night and was delighted with the location and treatment of the staff, the room was clean and equipped, in other words I would stay again, I recommend it to full.

The place is very close from most popular places such as the union Square and the hop on hop off stop location. Very accessible. But the room is not very big and quite dark. Overall the room is clean but you definitely don't get a very attractive room.

Cool Hotel in downtown San Francisco. Near the fashionable shops.

The Hotel Diva is always a great place to stay near Union Square. I love the sassy decor and their check in specials (usually a free drink happy hour). Joan Rivers has her handprints outside. The rooms are super comfortable and the staff is very good. Always my top place to stay in San Fran on a budget of $200 or less per night.

I mean… It's a place to sleep that is close to Union Square, so it has location going for it but I've been to SF many times and stayed at better hotels that are in the same price range. The hotel itself is pretty clean but terribly cold feeling (extremely small spaces, which you expect in SF, but painted grey with very little artwork to break up long walls). As a result, the rooms have a dorm-like vibe about them. There is furniture and a mirror on the wall. Not much else. Our particular room also had water sitting underneath what is clearly a new tub cover, so when you stand in the tub you can clearly feel water underneath the surface as you move your feet. Very hard to stand on, not to mention that it's just gross and poorly maintained. The hotel itself is probably closer to a 2.5 star but the very nice concierge and front desk employees compel me to give it a 3. There are too many other better options in the area, I won't be staying here again.

Great location next to several restaurants and convenience stores. Clean, comfortable rooms with a mini-fridge. Employees were very friendly and personable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Diva Hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. More than that the room was comfortable and adequate. We were not in the room much except to sleep. The room was quiet, maybe because we had a window unit for cooling, which did not bother us in the least. I have no complaints, with the exception, of the fact that there was no refrigerator. In their advertising they state, refrigerator available on request, if available. What I figured out was there are no refrigerators available, they will refrigerate something for you if it is important. We were told there was a cooler in the room, when in fact what they meant was it had an ice bucket. This was not a serious problem. The location is great. I would definitely stay there again.

We REALLY enjoyed our stay here. Check in was easy and fast, the gentleman at the front desk was very kind. After we got up to our room there was a knock at the door — it was Matt the concierge with a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate our honeymoon. This was a very kind gesture on top of the gentleman at the front desk already having upgraded us. Matt was super friendly and helpful, giving us lots of tips for our stay in San Francisco. We stayed in a King size room. We were offered two options: a room with a view of the street or a room facing away from the street. After having read reviews about the noise of the street we opted for the room facing away from the street. We were happy that we did this as we could still hear a little bit of the noise from the street from our room. (Which was fine, this is to be expected when you stay in the middle of a big city). The bed was so comfortable, I loved the pillows. Housekeeping was lovely, if you ran into them in the hallway they always asked you what time you would like service at. The rooms were very clean and had everything that you needed. Excellent staff, excellent product. If we ever come back to San Francisco again we will definitely stay here. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Rooms are nice and the hotel is in a convenient location. Stay was pleasant. Only qualms were the lack of plugins next to the bed for phone charging and the bathroom was small compared to everything else. In all I would stay here again.

Great location. Decent enough size room. Nice and clean. Good amenities. Friendly staff. Back alley a little noisy with bins emptied at 1am Friday.

Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. We got lost so the staff directed us there over the phone and waited outside to make sure we found it. The rooms were fairly small but they were really cool and modern. We reserved our stay for 3 nights in San Francisco for the last part of our honeymoon. After one night we realized that, being from a small town in Oregon, we felt really uncomfortable in Downtown San Francisco as it was very busy and loud. It was not an area we were used to or expecting for a romantic destination. When we explained this, they cancelled our other nights for free and we're very understanding and kind. They went above and beyond. It was our fault for not researching the area enough but they fixed it all for us! We couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. Such kind and caring people. ❤️

Hotel near Union Square! Modern, welcoming even in the process of enlargement. Dream rooms, furnished in a modern style. Staff at complete disposal.

It's the perfect location for going to see the arts, or your favorite EDM dj. Stayed here for pride. Not a fan of having to floor hop to get ice.

Good stay, great location, couple blocks to Union Square. Close to BART station. Got a good rate since they are renovating. Helpful and friendly staff.

Great hotel for visiting San Francisco. Excellent location, next to Union Square, allowing you to visit various tourist spots in the city. Size appropriate, well-maintained rooms. Great atmosphere day and night in the area.

Hotel Diva is conveniently located in the Union Square has many food options near by. Hotel room was ok size had the amenties you need. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Great location. We had a nice room (it was a little small though). Somewhat overpriced but I guess that's just how hotels in San Francisco are in general.

This affordable boutique hotel has a sexy vibe, modern decor, and friendly staff. The room amenities are basic (and there aren't enough outlets! ). The location is convenient to Union Square, but also bumps up on the Tenderloin.

Not bad for the price. Room is a little small. Construction outside first thing in the morning. Overall not a bad hotel.

Nice staff. Room can be noisy because the windows are thin and you can hear what's happening on the street. Luckily I'm a heavy sleeper. Next door to Starbucks, which is awesome. Great location overall. I do wish the rooms had bolts/stoppers on the doors like the large chain hotels. I always appreciate the extra security.

This place is aweful. It is designed like a prison and may be the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in. The traffic noise is horrible! Think minimalist uber euro furniture set in a russian prison camp and 50yr old single pane windows on a busy san francisco street. Yeah… Sucks.

Well furnished artsy room, a little on the small side. Street noise was horrendous. I understand that some noise is to be expected, But this could easily have been resolved with some better modern windows which seemed ancient in comparison to the modern rooms.

This hotel is really great!
It's cheap, it's in a great location, close to everything there is to see in San Francisco.
The staff is really friendliest and nice.
Inside the hotel there is also a Starbucks, great if sometimes you sleep late and you want to make a quick breakfast to not waste time. Otherwise on the corner there is a diner that makes a great American breakfast with eggs bacon pamcakes coffee and many other great dishes!
The only flaw, but it is common to all hotels in the area, is the high number of bums for Lstrade, although in 6 days we were never bothered.
The rooms are large and very clean, there is free Wi-Fi (not very fast), the buisness room to print documents from the PC and a gym for hotel guests.
Given the cheap price this hotel is really recommended!

The bathroom was small but very clean and modern. The room was chic, clean and modern. The bed was so comfortable. The staff was very accommodating. An extra bonus is the Starbucks next door.

Excellent location, friendly and family friendly. Rooms facing the main street very noisy, but I have to say that they warned him to us, and we changed room the next day without any problem. There were people at the reception who spoke Spanish. I forget clothes and a laptop and sent them to me by mail. Totally recommended, repeat without hesitation.

The most: beautiful, modern and clean. Excellent Wi-Fi connection (free) with access to computers and printers (free of charge). Starbucks Coffee on the ground floor. The big minus: beds much too small for 2 adults, the room is never in the dark, even at night (hallway lights, very thin curtains and letting light pass…). Impossible to sleep properly, awakened every morning between 5 and 6 o'clock!
