Great hotel, good staff with modern rooms. Good value and great pool/terrace.

The JW has been completely fantastic. The accommodating nature of the staff is tangible. The performance and demeanor of the staff together have made my visit to LA Downtown something I want to repeat over and over.

Not really a so called luxury hotel. It’s a mediocre business hotel. Rooms with not well working air con very loud fridges and really bad service. Expectation for a JW for sure not fulfilled. A lot of excuses for not done and not working things. Friendly but incompetent staff The restaurant; Italien, has the Charme of a train station snack place Overall not a place I would go again If it was a Sheraton or Marriott it would be good.

Love this hotel! We come here every year for a small Christmas getaway. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, and the property is always clean. It's centrally located with plenty of things to do.

The customer service is some of the Beat Customer Service I have had in a good long while. It’s nice to know that it still exists. Never been here before but I think this Hotel is close to lots of site seeing and other interesting things.

We came to LA to visit our daughter and coincidentally celebrate our 34th. They went overboard, upgraded us to a suite and this was delivered complimentary this morning. What a great touch from this awesome team.

Very comfy beds, clean, beautiful. Every staff member is helpful and kind.

Not a great experience waiting for an “upgraded” room 4 hrs, then another 45 minutes for our luggage that apparently was lost. It seems like there’s a total disconnect from the top down and I’ve wasted a whole day “waiting”.

Ability to handle large conferences. Hotel staff gives exceptional service.

Valet parking is appreciated, courteous staff and we got our car very quickly when we left the event.

This hotel is very accommodating. Upon check-in, the staff was was willing to assist my needs even though I arrived from my travels we'll past midnight. The greeters to the coffee shop has employees who are willing to go the full mile for your stay.

Roomy, spacious, and friendly staff. The pool was just perfect. Modern and convenient parking. Location is perfect for you to stroll around. Highly recommended.

LOVE the JW Marriott Los Angeles L. A! We had my 40th Birthday party at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L. A and it was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make the evening special. The hotel and the courtyard was impeccable, beautiful and so unique! The JW Marriott Los Angeles L. A is a great venue for special events. We had the whole hotel to ourselves and no one wanted to leave in the morning. I can't wait to go back for a weekend away. I highly recommend this as a place to have a party or if you are visiting Los Angeles.

Great location, awesome staff, and love the pool!

Was there for the Hey Girlfriend Network Luncheon 2018 for 1000 women. Don’t recall what ballroom we were in, but very cleanly and spacious. Valet parking was very convenient and accessible to the ballroom. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Main entree was average (Salmon Entree). However, the Lemon Tart was delicious! Only point of constructive criticism is that the room should have had additional speakers for those sitting in the back. I was in the mid section and had difficulty hearing the speakers. A room this size and with the capacity of guest should have had speakers positioned in the rear. Not sure if that was the hotels set up or the event organizers responsibility. Nevertheless, had a Fabulous time and I love the Marriott!

I checked in just before a pretty major event and parking just to unload was an issue. I was mainly checking in, dropping my stuff off, then heading out, and that caused the most issues since they were already in rush mode and didn't want cars there for more than 5-10 minutes. Besides that, my stay has been great. I love the location, I love the look and feel, and the rooms are a great size. I'll definitely try to come back again next year.

I like JW Marriott properties in general. It’s nice to see how LA has revitalized this area. Central location allowed me to get to both the east and west side with ease. My room, 2128, was satisfactory. The only downside with this room is that it shared a wall with a bank of service elevators, which I heard all night. I could tell that the morning shift started at 5:30 AM because that’s when the elevators started moving in earnest. The valet service is prompt and organized. I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

I have to say from being a business traveler, Marriott is the best. I am a gold member and they always treat me well and I can honestly say I have never had issues, with all the many 100s of times I have stayed with any of their hotels. JW is excellent also. Their staff upgraded me to a suite on a personal trip to LA and it was excellent. My family was excited and it made the trip that much better. The staff is super friendly and they were real helpful getting us settled into the room. Marriott takes care of their cusrtomers and they go above and beyond.

Centrally located and within walking distance of the Staple Center and other nearby attractions. Lobby of the JW was very nice with their restaurants and lounges all centrally located. My large room featured a very comfortable, king-sized bed and had a sofa in front of the large picture window, overlooking the city. There was also a small desk to work from. The view from my room was great, but the freeway noise was pretty bad even though I was 15+ stories above it. Staff was friendly and personable.

Had to call to make a reservation as I am part of a group and I just had the best customer service of my life. The associate was pleasant, informed, patient, and worked several different angles to get me the best rate possible. I left the conversation with a smile on my face which is so incredibly rare for these types of phone calls. I hope everything else lives up to this same great experience.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel for a scientific conference… I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful facility. Location is great and close to all the attractions of LA live. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Swimming pool was the best I’ve ever seen in LA hotels. I also recommend that you visit the concierge and take the LA your. It was exceptional experience and really enjoyed my stay… thank you LA JW Marriott for the great hospitality.

I recently stayed there for a conference. It was very conveniently located near the LA Conference Center. Very nice rooms and lobby. The rooftop pool was nice but the hot tub was out of order when I was there but they allowed me to use the hot tub of the Ritz-Carlton which is attached to the Marriott. I also had drinks at the bar at the Ritz-Carlton Nest restaurant which was very nice. There are many nice restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The metro station is within close walking distance. It's the perfect place to stay in the LA Live area, especially if you're there for an event at the conference center. It is definitely not your cheapest option though, there is a courtyard Marriott and Residence Inn across the street. There's no kitchenette but there is a refrigerator in the room.

Great place to stay being that it's in the heart of l. A. And local to all the main hot spots that l. A. Has to offer. Everything in this hotel is amazing. I am truly a die hard Marriott customer. They are always amazing with everything that they do. Definitely recommend this place, I promise you will not be disappointed!

Great hotel. I can't find anything negative to say. The lobby is beautiful. Felt like sitting there all day plus with lots of socialising going on it's a great spot to meet people if you feel lonely in your room. My room was awesome too. Be ready to pay well for all this sweetness.

I love big cities at night. Especially when you can look at the city in the night Lights, drink a cocktail and listen to music. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of LA LIVE near many restaurants, bars and cafes. You can walk to Lettle Tokyo on foot. On the transition you can go to the Ritz Carlton. On the 24th floor you can spend a great evening in the restaurant Wp24, enjoying the cuisine and beautiful views of the night city.

Fabulous location, fabulous decor, EXTREMELY nice staff! This location is perfect for downtown LA as it is right beside Staples Center, within walking distance to multiple restaurants, shopping and metro. The decor is beautiful, classy and comfortable. The staff are some of the friendliest and helpful that I have ever experienced. I will always look here first when in the downtown vicinity for accommodations!

The LA Live complex adds a lot of energy and fun entertainment choices to your stay. Rooms are the upscale Marriott product — which is very good. The lobby bar is usually active and convivial. The hotel can be a bit pricey, but sometimes it's not.

Great location at L. A. Live. Right next to the Staples Center and less than 10 minute walk to the L. A. Convention Center. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job every day. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly, quickly updated my bill when I noticed I was overcharged every night. Lobby bar is good but pricy which is to be expected in a major city's downtown area. Many places to eat and be entertained within walking distance.

The place is nice, very convenient location to the Convention center, Staples center etc. That's all I can tell. I spent six nights in this place. Room was clean. Minus one star for gigantic advertising screen that will not allow you to sleep well, if you're sensitive to flashing light. Nothing helps, even with with blinds closed. This is very annoying. They also have pool and jacuzzi that I did not use, because it was overcrowded. There are a couple of bars downstairs and one restaurant. Minus the second star, because, food and drinks are overpriced and terrible. The restaurant is a different story. I tried a few times and my food always was tasteless. Plus very small meal, I had to grab some extra snacks after this "fancy" dinner. One example, the salmon costs about $30, but its about 5 oz. Literally, the rest is a bunch of unknown grass.

Great hotel situated in the middle of LA Live. It is HUGE! Their smaller ballroom has over 21, 000 sq feet of space. The staff is great, friendly, and very accomodating. The hotel is modern, and near sporting events, restaurants, and nightlife. If you want to stay in the heart of Downtown, this hotel is definitely a great choice.

Great location. Beautiful and lively lobby. Nice pool. Rooms feel like a courtyard to me as they could be a little nicer. The exec lounge is small and crowded for breakfast. Valet parking is great and quick.

Overall is a nice place with very nice staff. Room was clean and in good working order. Very convenient location to convention center, staples center and all the LA live stuff. However, the room I had faced a giant video advertising board on the side of the hotel that faces the pool. If you are bothered by light sleeping this thing will annoy you greatly. Even with blinds closed and using extra towels to try and fill gaps it was very obtrusive into the room and the ads change so it’s like a flashing lift every 20-40 seconds. They need to install shades that block 100% or turn the thing off after a certain time. Without that would have been 5 stars.

Hotel to the perfect location to get around the city. Nice rooms and good service without more. Breakfast very expensive and not terrible.

Located in a good location, minutes from the Convention Center.

Room was amazing. Comfortable beds and pillows. Huge window views of the city. My room had a couch, sitting area, and desk. Staff was nice the whole time. Housekeeping even noticed I drank alot of water so gave me extra without asking. 5 stars all the way.

We came here during my birthday a few years back to have a few drinks in the lobby. What a lobby it is! It is huge, with fountains creating rainbows for you to walk under while on the path. The round glass elevators were jetting up as if to outer space. We just had to ride in one of those, and the ride was a bit scary I must say. It was fast, and all of a sudden we were looking outside, overlooking the lit up pool, the sides of the hotel, and the rest of downtown LA. Back down in the lobby, the bar is in the center of the lobby, and they spared no expense on the decor. There was actually even a small lounge off to the side that could be accessed from outside the hotel, and people were partying and jamming in there as if they were in a nightclub. I would definitely come for drinks again, whether it be a business meeting, after work meet-up, date, friends, whatever lol.

Truly a beautiful building and experience. Staff is well put together and expert in customer service. Restaurants in lobby cater to your every need. Rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. Views are amazing. Location is optimal for LA Live. Fully impressed. Valet service could improve.

Definitely definitely definitely you must stay at this place if you are coming to LA. There is so much to do within a short distance or else hop on local Transit and you can be in so many areas in a short time. The hotel itself is definitely the top of the line my opinion or at least for my budget. I wish I could post the name of the person to book through to get a heck of a deal but unfortunately I cannot. The rooms are amazing and if you want to run into celebrities staying here from out of town, chances are at any time you're bound to see one or group of them.

The JW Marriott is a top-of-the-line hotel. It's extremely clean and the service is friendly and hospitable. I also had breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor and it was delicious. I would stay at a JW Marriott every time if I could!

Amazing hotel in a great location. The perfect convention stay. Right next to convention center and Staples center. The LA Live area is a fun place to stroll with great restaurants including Tom’s Urban and the sushi place. Lovely room, gorgeous huge lobby, clean with welcoming staff. I have only positive things to stay about this hotel.

Deluxe Room and the service that goes with it.

I was there for a job fair and one of the vendors/employers. I was amazed by the interiors of the hotel. Workers there were so helpful and friendly too. The conference room (gold conference room) was a bit far from the front entrance but it was definitely worth the walk. Food was amazing. I'm excited to come back next year for the event!

An amazing place to stay. Centrally located with good food options nearby, beautiful rooms and great breakfast. Only downside is overnight parking costs a small fortune in the area. Pool and gym is also very nice.

Very nice hotel and helpful staff. The pool is gorgeous and has very comfy chaise lounges and what appear to be beds. The pool has steps at both ends with the middle the deepest part. The beds are super comfortable. I passed on the $28 breakfast. The Starbucks located out the back of the hotel is excellent.

Amazing location… mere steps from the Staples Center. With that said, when in the hotel, you can't hear the hustle and bustle going on below on the street level. The rooftop pool is really nice and the towel chair covers are a nice touch. There's a pool bar where you can order a margarita or other refreshing beverage. The rooms are lovely and are as one can expect from a JW Marriott.

Stayed at the JW Marriott LA Live recently for a conference. The stay was enjoyable, staff was very nice and prompt. The food from room service was amazing, would highly recommend the cheesecake. The room could of had more attention to detail with the cleaning. The corner lamp was very dirty and the windows seals were very dirty as well. I expected a little more attention to detail for the JW line. Overall I'd return again if I'm in the area.

Greeted us like true guest. Simone at the front desk was so inviting and accommodating. Ricky the bellman showed us around our room and even got us a bucket of ice. What a way to welcome a couple of Texans! Everyone is super friendly. So modern and urban looking. Love the place already!

We were not guests of the hotel but we ate at Fords Filling Station and spent the day at the spa. All services were 5 star! We enjoyed the entire day. The spa was worth the price! Can't wait to go back.

On the high end of Marriott properties, the expectations are pretty high, but they delivered and with flying colors. The JW gets the 5 star bump for the total package they provide. Upon entering, you are greeted with an expansive Fourier and a nicely set up welcome desk. The area's incredibly bright, which was nice on the sunny day we arrived. The three concierge desks are located in the entry way on the way to the elevators making it accessible and easy to grab dinner tips. The rooms were, simply stated, incredible! They're large, have great work space with a large desk and plenty of outlets and lights. A 42 inch plasma screen graced the room which had ample relaxing space with the midsize couch at the far end. The bed was great w/ plenty of pillows and everything you expect from the higher end Marriotts. Bathroom was very modern, but didn't skimp on the space — a huge plus as most places have gone modern at the expense of staying true to the American way of giving space to spread out — If I wanted a tiny bathroom w/ a square toilet, I'd move to London, but that's another talk! The shower was large and had a nice, big shower head. Water didn't get super hot so for those of you looking to steam your clothes, wake up a few minutes early to iron. Food in the lobby was solid, not great and fairly pricey.

Nice posh space for special events. I'm especially impressed by their food during these events. Quality is on par with regular restaurants, even though it's "just banquet food. " Braised short ribs are nicely done.

The room was really nice and the location was great. The hotel itself has a cool, modern feel to it. Staff at the hotel were always polite and helpful. My only real gripe is the price they charge for parking. It's $45 a day to park your car here as a hotel guest! If you sign up for Marriott Rewards, the in-room Wi-Fi is free.

Have stayed in JW Marriott Mall of America and it was much much nicer than this one by the staples center in LA. Sorry of surprised. 350$ish a night and I should expect the television to work and my sheets to not have weird stains. We had a great view and the location was perfect. Lots of restaurant options near by. In total, very nice, but some details were surprisingly lacking.

The overall experience was fantastic. The rooms were clean, and had a great view. Plenty of options in the lobby for drinks and food. Staff members were friendly and helpful.

Jw marriot is a very clean hotel with great customer service. Managers such as matt, a japanese manager was very knowleadgeable. He would help my boyfriend and I with the drink selections. He also told us about the surrounding areas.

Stayed here for IRCE Focus on Design 2015. While the room itself initially looked upscale, there were a couple factors that made me realize this hotel did not live up to its reputation. The furniture was stained. White smudge marks on the couch told that room service gave quick "wipe downs" rather than the full sanitation required. I could had avoided the couch and still had a pleasant stay — but from the start my bathroom sink had a leak (I notified the concierge immediately). The leak conglomerated into a giant puddle in the center of the tile floor. Considering this was my first day and I had not settled in it might had been easier to move me to a different room. Instead I had to hop/skip from utility to utility while getting ready, then waited half a day for an engineer/janitor to fix the leak so I could use the restroom I had rented out.

We went there for the bar as another local bar was slammed and we couldn't get drinks. Their bar served us promptly though quote expensively. Wasn't too crowded but also had a great live band. It was the day before the rose bowl so it was back with an out of the state college football fans. Still a good time but pricey. I've also stated here two years ago for work. The rooms where great. Comfortable beds with nice bathrooms.

Nice and posh hotel. I have always wanted to stay here and we stayed here for two nights for a little stay-cation during Christmas eve and Christmas since we are local in greater Los Angeles area. Why only 4 stars? With a top hotel brand in a premium market, you will think that service will be fast and quick. However, when we asked for an extra set of comforter/bed sheet, we had to wait almost an hour for the requested items to come up. We first put the order in, waited for 20 minutes, and then we were informed that the usual turn around time is 30 minutes and a request to check will reset the clock and will be another 30 minutes?! Not the top hotel experience that I was expecting out of JW Marriot line. Other than that, it is one of the better hotel I have stayed at in the US. (Still not as good as Asia though, unfortunately)

This is a very nice hotel in L. A. Live. I visited here for a event in their platinum conference room. They had sea of conference room. Inside is huge! The interior is quite nice and is rated 4 stars. I won't suggest to park here unless there's parking validation voucher, it can be as high as $40 a night! There are few dozen restaurant in the hotel. The most famous one is the WP24 which owned by Wolfgang Puck. Specially in upscale Chinese Cuisine located in their near the top floor the hotel. I get to try some of their food in the conference (Kobe Sliders, Tandoori Chicken Skewers, Veggie Eggroll) All were delicious.

You're going to love the view from both directions! Staff are super friendly and professional. I can't speak of a bad experience during my stay because I actually didn't experienced anything negative. The beds in the rooms are comfortable. Wait til you see the showers, they're amazing, fully equipped. The speed of checking-in and check-out are quick. This hotel is surrounded by endless entertainment, dining, nightlife, and more good stuff.

Very welcoming hotel, staff was very nice and always acknowledged me when I saw them. Had a business conference and enjoyed the rooms, sound and the food was amazing.

They have great people, and nice rooms, and I must give them kudos for accomodating an early check in time, (although, if they had 'normal' check in times, I wouldn't need a favor. ) but… they limit the air conditioning in the rooms. It took six hours to get an engineer to fix it. The bed in our room has so hard I walk with a limp the next day. They're deceptive about their internet service. They have a level of service they call "high speed" yet they throttle that speed until you upgrade to their "enhanced high speed. " I was surprised that after charging $300 a night that this did not include Wi-Fi. It's not only an extra charge, but a high priced extra charge. Still, the Wi-Fi is not the deal breaker. The lack of air conditioning and the hard bed are.

Being a PLATINUM for life, I have stayed her many times in the last 10 years. The food, guest service and hotel in general gets 4.5 stars. However, at valet our cash was stolen out of the center console. We leave tip money in there for the valet guys. I guess they got their tip. Its only $15-$20, however this is a complete degredation of our society, when you cant go to a 5 star hotel and trust the service providers that work there. That's what you get for outside services. Stealing is reprehensible. I work in the service industry and tip very well and am very appreciative of the way my customers take care of me. Marriott is directly responsible for all their service providers. My loyalty should be rewarded not offered a cup of starbucks, and ignored.

Pros: Great personable staff. Beautiful building. Ideal location. Great lobby. Nicely furnished rooms. Cons: Where do I start? Rooms are small. Staff is overwhelmed. Inconsistent service. Still nice staff just, nobody there. *** Great bar "The Mixing room" was closed. The Valet seemed to be backed up constantly. Room service is a bit of a stretch on price. I want to say a lot about how poor my experience was here but there isn't enough room. Long story short. My 30th Birthday was disappointing thanks to this hotel. ***When we pulled up, the valet asked if we wanted our luggage taken to our room, we said yes and stood there for 5 minutes and realized nobody was coming to get our bags. I ordered Champagne to be waiting in my room when I got back. I was assured it could be done. It never happened. Really a disappointing Birthday night. Was hoping for so much more for a $450 one night stay. I can't see myself booking here again.

Very nice property, large rooms, spacious bathroom, good location. Why 4 not 5 stars? still trying to figure that one out myself. They did everything right, it was just missing that elusive "it" factor" wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. And I just might. Just to see if I can find that fifth star.

The Hotel JW Marriott Los Angeles L. A. LIVE has a great location and excellent service. The rooms are small but nice. The hotels lobby is also very small which makes things tight for the nightly free wine but overall a great experience.

I have stayed at this location in the past and always loved how close it was to SoHo and the Village. I was scheduled to stay here this weekend but Mother Nature had other plans. My bus was cancelled due to a snowstorm and I had no other way to get to CA for the weekend. I had pre-paid for my room so when I called to cancel I had already accepted the fact that I was most likely out of luck in regards to any sort of refund. However, I figured people may be stranded in CA due to the storm and wanted to cancel the reservation so they could rebook the room for someone that could use it. Even though I did not request a refund it was given to me right away! I am so impressed with this and am already trying to figure out a make-up date for my trip and I will be staying here.

Very nice hotel property and room. Service was very good especially for the New Years holiday and hosting FSU for the Rose Bowl. Love the location, close to many great places to eat and Staples Center.

This review is for Glance Wine Bar: With two major concerts going on at Staples Center and Nokia Theater, you would figure that the managers would schedule more staff. Not the case. I was very lucky to have found a booth seat considering the mayhem of the evening; yet, I sat in said booth for 20 minutes waiting for a server. Proceeded to the bar to order drinks, but I suppose I should have worn the frilly costumes the 10-14 year olds who were going to the Katy Perry concert were wearing to have been noticed. Note to bartenders: If I am standing in front of the bar, facing you — it's because I want a drink — not because I am marveling at your Brian Flanagan moves behind the bar.

Typically poor Marriott service. I asked for a picture or model of the crib to verify it is the appropriate size, and they said they didn't have either. That's fine — — I wouldn't expect them to. I then asked if they could have somebody take a picture on their phone and send it to me, and they essentially said, "Maybe. " Three days later, no picture. I had to email Marriott headquarters, who finally got a response from the hotel several days later, but the crib they reported didn't match what was actually at the hotel (a Foundations play pen if you're interested — — not something you can lower a sleeping newborn into). There are no microwave ovens on the premises, so if you plan to heat up some leftovers, think again. Wi-Fi is $13 / day.

Very poor general management. They will not accept credit cards over the phone or those on file, including on file with Marriott rewards members. They will require your credit card payment information, but by their own claims have so much fraud within this one particular Marriott that they recommend customers bring pre-paid payment cards from Walmart — — the words of their reservations staff. Beware.

The JW Marriott is a fantastic hotel. Everyone is very nice and always helpful, they make you feel like you are at home. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. One of our favorite places is the lobby bar. It is a great place to sit, relax and have a snack and drink or two. Manny and Maria are awesome. Our family loves to stay at the JW Marriott at LA Live. We have been twice in the pat few months and even changed our reservations from the Ritz Carlton to stay at the JWM for an upcoming visit. Highly recommend going there next time you are in Downtown LA.

One of their catering leads, Sam, went out of his way to rectify the situation when our company booked an incorrect suite for our business meetings. (A call center attendee gave us bad information about their suites and they were not pictured well on the JW site. ) Sam saved the day by working with his team to get us what we needed. We would definitely use JW again, especially under guidance of our trusted contact. Thanks to true hospitality leaders, like Sam Vaca, we're looking forward to having an excellent stay and fruitful meetings with our customers and partners. Note: it's never a bad idea to contact the hotel directly and ask them for their suite layouts and images, which Sam was quick to get to us.
