A boutique hotel tucked away in the castle district. The surroundings are lovely and historical, but it's not particularly central — especially if you will spend time on the other side of the river where there are more restaurants and more happening at night. We stayed in the garden room, which is the smallest and on the ground floor. It wasn't loud at all despite being right behind the reception/bar. But, the layout is annoying with the sink across the room from the toilet. The full length mirror is in a dark hallway area and the sink mirror has harsh overhead light. There are blackout curtains but no privacy sheers so the room was either semi-public or very dark. I did not like the room. The staff was friendly enough, but not particularly helpful — they didn't interact other than check in and out, bringing breakfast. I would call the service impersonal. Overall, our stay was fine, but I was hoping for a better experience for this price point.

Cosy restaurant, which invites you to linger. The BBQ Ribs were excellent. Happy again.

The best meal we had in our long weekend in Budapest. Warning: the chocolate cake is enormous, ENORMOUS! and tasty.

Horrible staff, unattentive. We were waiting for 30 min and no one took our orders despite us 2x calling the staff. Funny enough the staff was busy because the work was not organized well, yet they charge 13, 5% service fee.

I am not writing about the hotel, but about the café. The food was great. I recommend Croque madam, New York bagel and local lemonade is very good.

A charming, stylish and cosy place in a privileged setting. There are great hotels in that area but none have their charm. Just like the restaurant and bar where you can pause to comment and assimilate everything seen in Pest. Cappuccino for something over €2 and beer for something over €3

The reception was perfect, the room was beautiful and very clean and the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel which did a flawless. Its positioning in the Castle District makes it an additional asset.

The burgers were good but it is expensive for what they offer. They also deceive you to understand that the salad or potatoes are included and then you charge it for gold price.

We stayed three nights at this fabulous boutique hotel. Our room was large, tastefully decorated in a warm but edgy style. The service was great — the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel has a great art gallery hip vibe. We are not big foodies but the restaraunt is exceptional. The Chicken Paprikash and Lamb Shanks were outstanding — the chef deserves Michelin stars. Cannot recommend too highly! Happy Aussie travellers Roland and Sue.

Quite expensive compared to other local restaurants but the food is well worth it, the spicy tuna steak burger was amazing.

Impressive, dramatic yet the room is very warm and comfortable. When I arrived at location, evening, it was little bit… mysterious. The design, the sign name and plus it’s in the middle of castle area. But once I entered the building the decoration is superb and look like movie setting. The guy who greeted me, he’s very friendly. The room? Love it. Take the bus number 16 from few meters from the hotel and you’ll arrive in 15 minutes in the middle of the city.

Good quality, slow and expensive service.

We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were excellent and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and dined twice in the evening. I would totally recommend this establishment if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Budapest.

Perfect as usually! One of favorite place in Budapest. Gus liver cream brûlée it’s something amazing what you should try once in your life!

Hotel in full Pest small but very very cared for in all the details, with very nice and picturesque rooms. Quality restaurant above average, especially in meat dishes.

Rating the restaurant/cafe as didn't stay in the hotel. We stopped here for coffees. The staff were really helpful and attentive. One of the best service experiences in Budapest. Wasn't cheap but the coffee was good. Would recommend.

I am reviewing the restaurant as we didn't stay in the hotel. We had a very nice meal here on our first night in Budapest. I had a pork chop from the grill menu and I would have to say it was one of the best I have ever eaten. The service was good and the wine was tasty all at a reasonable price.

Very, very nice dinner. As a young traveller staying in hostels it was one of our more expensive places to eat, but the food was amazing. I really recommend the chicken paprikash. Near to the castle as well, so if you're visiting the castle it's only a short walk away.

Very nice hotel in the castle area of Budapest. Staff were very helpful and friendly. But I'll take this opportunity to complain about the hotel and about hotels in general in Europe. What's with those micro mini bathroom trash cans with the foot pedals that are about the size of my oatmeal container? And why can't even deluxe hotels master the art of lighting in bathrooms? Why must I look in the mirror and see several shades of dark and light shadow? Our 2-bedroom suite at Baltazar had 2 glass "windows" between the rooms! If I wanted to stay up late and read, why should the lights in my room disturb someone in the other room? If I need to use the bathroom during the night, I will not turn on the light so as not to disturb others, but at the Baltazar it goes on automatically, along with a loud fan, and stays on for several minutes after you've left the room. Annoying! Oh well. Nice place for the most part.

Sat down for an early lunch having heard good reviews about the place. We had a nice unfiltered beer and for mains, the very nice pike perch highly recommended by the lovely waitress. The service was good, we sat outside in a warm but shaded relaxed atmosphere.

Food was good but had to wait over 30 minutes to pay. Even thou we told them several times. Finally we had to go inside to do it because no one helped us.

Breakfast or Lunch, this is probably the best kept secret in Budapest. Fantastic menu, quality food… this place knocks it out, and is the capital of flavor town. Their Goulash is legendary, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is both peaceful and welcoming. There is plenty of indoor seating so that it never feels crowded, and there's also outdoor seating (weather permitting). This place is kind of tucked away in the back of the castle district, but it's worth exploring to find it. This has earned a spot on my must-visit list for Budapest, and I'll definitely make an effort to eat here at least once per trip.

Unique location, great staff, quality wine list and I like the chef's cuisiní. I can spend hours there. And they serve breakfast from 7am (as it is also a boutique hotel).

The food here was okay, but was a little on the pricey side. Just be aware that if you are ordering tongue, you will be getting a lot of tongue.

Modern hotel in quiet surroundings. Pleasant but slightly expensive bar and restaurant. Excellent staff. Beautiful room. Well placed for old town of Buda but a bit of a chore to travel over the river for any nightlife. Great if you don't mind a cheap taxi ride.

Totally overpriced! €10 for an omelett, cappuccino and still water? Is it a joke? The service is not included and it's impossible to see the warning in the menu because it's too small. I mean if they respect their clients they shouldn't perform tricks.

Helpful and friendly staff, nice ambient and well cooked food. Most likely best in the area.

The food was great, the local beer was very good, and they also have a large wine menu! I had the chicken and it was cooked perfectly. The Donuts with sorbet was a very good dessert and well portioned. I really enjoyed the trendy decor and intimate front room.

Our dishes and desserts were really very good and very well presented. General decoration was also very friendly.

The burgers are really awesome.

Recommend the tuna tataki and the gulash soup.

Nice place with good food.

Beautiful and quirky hotel, each room a refreshing revelation. Our room was spacious, clean and well-appointed with an overhead rainfall shower and comfy bed. The staff was accommodating and professional. The attached restaurant served some really delicious food; I loved the chicken paprikash. If we ever make it back to Budapest, we'll be sure to book another one of their unique rooms! I wished we could have tried out a different one every night we were there!

Crazy expensive restaurant. Gulyash 3000 (far not the best in Hungary) — ist robbery. Friendly waiters, Wi-Fi.

I do not know how the hotel but the restaurant is beyond praise.

Absolutly one of the worst places I have ever been food was terrible and cold. We sent one iof our dishes back and it was 25 mins before we got it bsck. The eine we wanted was, we were told, o not available but we were encouraged to have a "similar" wine which was £25 a bottle. Rip off city from start to finish. Don't go it's not worth it.
