Hotel staff is friendly. However hotel badly needs upgrading. Front entrance has no ramp and the door is not wheelchair accessible. In order to enter with a stroller, wheelchair, or wheeled luggage you need to go around to the back of the hotel. Room is in dire need of a facelift. It is clean but outdated. Bathroom vent makes a whole lot noise and toilet paper holder is so far away from the toilet that my 5 year old cannot reach it while on the toilet. Carpets in corridor are work right through to the plywood below. And this location unfortunately has no pool which was a big disappointment for our kids. Nice people working there but hotel needs some work to live up to the IHG standards.

We enjoyed our stay there. Breakfast was typical. Scrambled eggs, sausages, cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, English muffins, etc. Rooms were clean and fairly soundproof. Bathtub was old but clean. Beds were comfy. Only big drawback was no refrigerator in the rooms. Would consider staying there again.

I booked this hotel about 3 months in advance because I was coming for a wedding. I arrived a bit early but the front desk staff were very un-accommodating. Firstly I understand if you had no rooms but it is not what you do but how you do it. They made my son and I waited until check in time which was @ 3, so waited at least 5 hours. Then when I did check in they give me a print out of total and it was over a hundred dollars more than my original price when I booked the hotel. Thank God I was paying attention & I questioned them about the price increase & the lady @ the desk tried to tell me that was the price, I searched my phone and I found the original confirmation email & show it to them. They were confused and the lady consulted with the gentleman working with her & they began to figure it out speaking in their language (bad display in front of your guest). After having me standing their for at least 15 mins they decided to change the price, no apologies or anything, at that point I told them I will not stay there again & I will write a review. At some point the manager (I presume he is) approaches me with an apology & offer my 2000 points for my inconvenience. Really? If I was not paying attention my price was changed on me & if I didn’t had that email to prove what I was saying that would have been it because you did not believe me when I told you the price was incorrect.

Very big and spacious room, it was clean but did not have a fridge. Air conditioning works well and kept me cool all night long, did not make any noise. Hotel was quiet and clean and very easy to get to. Food and shopping 5 min away, situated in a prime busy area but was quiet where the hotel is, Nice and friendly staff.

I have stayed at a few hotels and never had an issue, but this hotel… I will NEVER go back. Check in was a disaster, I had reserved 2 rooms months in advance for august 3rd to 5th and had the price, when we go there to check in they gave us 3 different prices and each time it kept going up. Finally we got our rooms $100 more each than what we were told. The wall corners were moldy, though not much but still, the beds… you could feel every spring in the mattress. When we got to our room the front desk came up not long after stating " we are just checking on you" we didnt even get our bags to the room yet, talking about just checking on us. Then every loud noise on the floor they are knocking at our door or calling us about noise until we finally went down to make it clear to them stop harassing us, we are not the ones making noise. The 3 elder gentlemen that were in fact making all the noise happened to be sitting in the lobby when we went down so we pointed them out. We did not even receive an apology. I always recommend holiday inn to people looking for a hotel but I would NEVER recommend this one to anyone who asks me.

The black out curtains didn't go all the way to the bottom of the window, so they let in a lot of light which made it harder to sleep and woke us up early. The bed was moderately comfortable. The room was clean. We could hear children running around at 11pm and then we were woken up at 1 am by a child crying for around 30 minutes. The location was close to a powerlifting meet my partner was attending which was part of the reason we booked the hotel, with specific instruction of having a quite room as she needed to complete the next morning. Unfortunately the sound proofing was not up to the job. Overall for the price it was a terrible experience. Do not recommend.

The rooms were older and have that old motel kind of smell. But the amenities were good and breakfast is decent. The rooms are spacious with things needed for my stay.

I am staying in the Holiday Inn on markham road. This morning a woke up to a bed bug crawling across my pillow at 7:15 am. I immediately jumped up and screamed! I took photos of it and trapped it in a plastic cup. I cannot believe it was just crawling across the pillow in the morning! Please do not stay at this hotel unless you want to take home some bed bugs.

My wife and I stayed the night… Great service. Hotel staff very professional. Continental Breakfast was very good. Thank you.

Excellent location — convenient for anything in Scarborough and adjacent to a 401 junction, restaurants and transit. Great wood and brick decor a respite from brutalist concrete or sterile glass Very comfortable room — king bed and two easy chairs for relaxing each with an ottoman Nice hot breakfast included — like those omelettes and grapefruit juice for a change!

The room was very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and great location. Would definitely stay here again.

The building does have some history. Day sleep is quite noise due to the door slam. Staff are very good and kind.

Room was roomy, clean and relatively quiet. Furniture is a bit battered. Pillows were those large tube-like ones which some might find too thick. Toilets were small, low, and maybe 25 years old, judging by the enormous water tanks. The free breakfast was a cold omelette and dried out sausage patty, and bacon that shattered when you cut it. No ketchup or hot sauce for the eggs. In all, satisfactory basic accommodation with many signs of penny-pinching.

Clean and close to everything. Good value for money.
I would go back for the location.

First time attending a hotel, very friendly staff from reception to the cleaning staff. Always smiling. The room I stayed in was very spacious, bed was great size and felt great. Was easy to call reception from the room and ask for any help and they were quick to fix any problems. The breakfast bar was Good, nice range every morning to choose from. Although the pancake machine was what I was looking forward to — it was pretty basic and only had it once or twice. But you had other nice options but you have to get up early to get a good pick and it does shut at a certain time. Also if you need a taxi, the receptionist quickly makes that available for you which was great. Love that the hotel was close to some other food outlets so you don't have to go down town or quite far if you want a McDonald's or something. The keg was literally next door, nice eataway. Would go back! :)

Cheap Hotel; There are smells all over the place. The fitness room is small but meets the need. The free lunch offers several choices; They made an excellent omelet, but only one day out of three. So a good convenience store for cheap, but not my favorite hotel.

Nice location and breakfast. Rooms are fine and showing a bit of age, and the bathroom tile grout was dirty along with the stained tub, but overall comfortable. One little downfall was to TV cable guide shows channel listings not programming, and the suggested phone app is of no use unless you'd like to pay for show listings or $25 each to rent a movie.

My husband and myself have been coming to this hotel for years. The staff are amazing and are always helpful. Angela always makes sure we are well looked after. The hotel has always been very clean and updated often. Would always recommend this hotel highly.

Nice hotel and clean rooms. Staffs are good as well and supportive. The break fast can be improved with some more options. Did not get chicken option during my stay of 5 days. Near to the Scarborough Town Center as well.

All right, the rooms are clean and convenient. The bathroom is very good, the practical common areas and the location of the hotel is convenient, close to the freeway. I give 4 stars because I asked for a fridge 3 days-before I arrived and I had none. Otherwise, the employees are all very nice!

Spent 2 nights to celebrate out anniversary unfortunately the 1st night was spent with a malfunctioning fire alarm. Located next to the keg and 1 minute away from the 401. Couple of other fast food places in the area and scarborough town center mall. Nice hotel of choice if your looking not to break the pockets. Also remember to ask if your room has a fridge.

I stayed 5 days at this location. Felt like home away from home. Clean accommodation. Mr harroon Patel was very helpful and polite representative.

The hotel has a lodge like decor. Very CLEAN, the sweetest staff & very attentive. Nellie is the absolute best, a true professional and extremely helpful. He made the experience a great one. I would stay again.

The only staff that was sincere and smiling were housekeeping employees. My washroom wasn't cleaned we'll. There was mold in the grout in the tile of the shower and then bathtub wasn't cleaned properly at all. Not pleased, I brought my daughter out for a nice time and instead this was the second time I've had a poor experience at a Holiday express. More occurred but.

Nothing bad to say about the staff, however I rent a room for a week end of september, I ask a non-smoker room but when I got there they told me a mistake has been made and there were only smoker room left… No need to say how bad it smelled in the room, but the worst was the humidity WOW its a never seen before, and Ive been working on the road for almost 5 years trust me… It was a really hot week but its not an excuse, shouldnt affect the room that much if at all… Was waking up ALL wet every morning, sleeping in a tent would have feel better by far, literally. At 180$ a night, that is very deceiving… Go to Delta for same price or even travellodge la much better for half the price… Sorry I really had to put a feedback on this…

It's a holiday inn Express. The staff is really nice; rooms could use a new coat of paint but the beds and showers are comfortable. Breakfast is one of the better Continental buffets I've had. Overall you're going to have a pleasant stay.

Got what I expected. Nice beds, tidy room-keeping, acceptable internet. Small ameneties like an ice machine and a fridge in the room were nice. What I didn't like: Breakfast was mediocre and lacked much variety. There was no water fountain aside from a juice machine in the breakfast area only available during breakfast hours. The other source of water aside your bathroom tap was a very expensive vending machine.

For the first time, the internet worked consistently at a holiday inn, and the service was prompt and well executed. My only issue is they do not enforce the law of no smoking within 30 ft of a building entrance. They really need to enforce that. It's not nice to walk through the smoke of someone smoking and start to gag.

Found a used condom within 30 seconds of being in my room, when I told the front desk, they said they would have the maid service clean the room extra good the following morning. How about having the maid service CLEAN the room. After the 'extra good' cleaning I spilled water on the bathroom floor and wiped it up with a towel, which turned black from the seemingly clean floor. The only redeeming moment, was when the night desk clerk went to his vehicle to fetch me his micro USB cable, as I had forgotten mine. Upon check out, I went to the front desk to get reimbursed for the $300.00 cash deposit, as I never give credit card info. My partner had checked in for me, and used her debit card for the deposit, and subsequently I transferred the amount back to her, as I went straight to my engagement for the day. I was told that they could not put the deposit back into my account, that it had to go back into the same account, which was an outright lie, and I told them it was a lie, but they stood by their claim for the moment, and when I became irate and accused them of lying, they threatened to call the police on me. I suggested that it was a grand idea, perhaps we should both call them. Ironically, they weren't to keen on it after all, and after speaking with my partner on the phone (it could have been anyone, as I gave them the number to call), they refunded my deposit.

Over priced hotel with no pool. The location and amenities offered by this hotel do not justify the price in my opinion. Spend the same amount of money and stay at a much nicer hotel (with a pool) right next door. The hotel next door is the Best Western. The hotel itself is "fine", but just not worth spending $180 a night.

Clean nice rooms, excellent hot breakfast different options and buffet. At 10 minutes from the Toronto Zoo. Friendly staff. Missing water filling bottles machine. They offer you to fill it with tap water if you hand out your water bottle. Nice internet speed.

Check in was quick and easy, the staff was very pleasant, courteous and able to answer our questions. The room is clean and comfortable. Only drawback for us is the beds are EXTREMELY hard.

I hardly ever stay at hotels but my stay at this one was good, the staff were very nice and friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and kept clean. The location of the hotel is great for anyone travelling the 401 highway and access to the downtown of Toronto is not too far away.

No coin op laundry available. If you travel for work and need to wash your clothes, plan on spending a few hours a week at the local laundromat. Never seen a holiday inn without coin op laundry.

This holiday inn doesn't deserve one star let alone 3.8 rating it has. Hotel rooms are dirty, room smelt, sheets were dirty, window didn't lock on the ground floor. There's a lot cheaper and better quality hotels in the same area. Then at check out they had debited my credit cards over 666.00 in the last 48 hours. I wanted it to go on a different card not both cards. Talked to the manger about it but he hardly could speak English. Then he reversed one of the charges now, I only have to wait 5 days for money 333.00 back.

The rooms are ok, but the they need to work on the interior of the room they are outdated.

Rooms were very nice for the price we paid, located about 50 feet or less from the keg which made dinner easy. Greeters at the hotel were on point, and very knowledgeable about their services, and of the area. Overall a pretty great experience, only thing I could complain about is no bacon available with breakfast :P.

Smells a bit weird, but definitely not a bad smell. Hard to describe, but you don't notice it soon after checking in. Fantastic other than that, with everything from service to cleanliness. Had an awesome automatic pancake machine at complimentary breakfast. Yes you read that right. Automatic. Complimentary. Pancakes.

Nice location by the highway. Enjoyed their breakfast here. Nothing fancy, but enough to get you on your day.

Staff is great, hotel looks rather new, and cleanliness is superb. Definitely the best you can get for your money in the area. Fantastic steakhouse next door for dinner, and right off the highway. Highly recommend.

Amazing stay here for a business trip. Like the other comments say, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, quiet, and cozy feeling. Excellent design and lighting.

Very friendly staff. The look and feel of the hotel is very nice with wooden beams on the ceiling and brick wall in the rooms. The room was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good with lots of options. I would definitely stay there again.

This was great for what we needed. Spent two nights here, got in early, no problem checking in. As we came from the Fall to see a friend. Staff was very friendly. As we are a family of 4 we of course need more towels. I went to the front desk instead of waiting and they gave them to me with other toiletries that I requested. The breakfest is good and if you don't see it, just ask and they will get it for you. The internet is great in your room and lobby area, a little slow if you go outside to smoke like me. Overall I would stay here again if I had too. ps: bring your own water they don't provide in rooms.

I've had family members stay here when they were in town and we had no room for them. The location is great, and from what I heard, the service was good too.

Nice place and very nice staff. Very good continental breakfast. Try not to get a room close to the central fire doors. It can be a bit loud and it is a busy part of the hotel. Internet is not wireless so you have to sit at the desk in your room.

Much older location, very unique. Right off the 401.6/10.
