Great staff. Stay here all the time for work and they make an effort to remember your name when you walk in and provide great service in the restaurants. Good place to stay.

Not a bad selection in Cold Lake for the price. Showing some age in places, and not terribly polished as far as service goes, but generally clean and priced fairly.

I travel for work and stay at hotels about 75 nights a year. Havent stayed at this hotel in Cold Lake before but did so this time and will only stay there going forward. All the amenities you need and great staff. Back in October for 3 nights, already booked here!

Great food and good sleep.

Great hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Pool with waterslide is excellent for the kids. Coffee and water available all the time is such a nice touch!

BW in Cold Lake is two buildings and they don't let you know which one you are booked into. It is the same price for the lovely hotel as the cramped motel on the property. The parking does not have room for all the guests even if you book in with your license. They have strange standards for breakfast so don't expect that you will receive it. The motel portion has cement steps up so it is difficult if you have mobility problems. We do not recommend.

Not overly impressed as numerous issues. Main ones being Elevators broken (although fixed in a few hours), ice machines broken on my floor and no ice bucket, rooms not prepared until almost 5pm for 3pm check in, parking lot extremely small good luck finding a spot if not there early, of course if you are there early your room won't be ready. One upside is that their TV channel selection and free internet access seems top notch, quite possibly the best I've had in a hotel.

Great hotel looks, had nothing to complain about until I found a large almost 2in wide toy superball under the bedsheet on the mattress, this was my 2nd night there. This means that the previous people in the room had a kid and that the kid put his superball there and forgot about it and when room service came to do the room they didn't change the bedsheet between guest, this is absolutely horrifying, I will think again before ever staying at the best western cold lake.

There was no issue with the hotel at all. It was clean and the room was nice and the staff was very kind and helpful. There were people smoking right outside the main entrance and kids hanging out in the parking lot at night but not a hotel issue. The hotel was great.

Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. All in one entertainment with the VLT lounge, restaurant and liquor store all right on location. Pool and gym area is splendid.

Friendly staff and adequate gym. I had a very enjoyable stay. Convenient location as there's a sawmill restaurant right inside, and other amenities around.

Getting a bit dated. My room had worn out thermosat, buttons did not all work, heater fan only worked on high, not low. Plus they eliminated the complimentary breakfast — which used to be very good. $150 and not even a breakfast? The Wi-Fi is good at least.

Hotel is satisfactory and the kids loved the pool. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing and the service in the Sawmill lounge was some of the worst I've ever experienced.

Good food good service but sometimes a bit pricey. The Sunday brunch has been Good, plenty of food.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel, scum in and on the walls of the Jacuzzi. A four foot pool that was so murky you couldn't see the bottom. Rusty brown stains on the bath towel and on the pillows, During my stay, on one night the room was not cleaned and the towels not replaced. On another occasion house keeping walked into my room without even knocking… the power breaker tripped in my room. They told me I had too many electrical devices plugged in, I have only my computer plugged in. Now with minus 20 temp outside the heater broke. A terrible sound from the bearings, I turned it off. Should I change rooms. Its 2am now I need to be at work by 5am… another great night. I call a 1 800 customer service number… sorry the office is only open from 7am to 8pm. I called reservations, they are available 24hrs a day the lady couldn't help me but agreed and admitted that it was a terrible business practice. I will stay here for another 3 hrs then I will check out and never return… I hear the holiday inn across the road was a much better place. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel… to suggest this seems like a joke.

There are two buildings in this Best Western — the main building and an "outbuilding". As it happens they charge more to stay in the main building. The outbuilding was well maintained and in good shape, if not a little over heated. Overall it was a nice stay.

The cleaning staff knocked on our door twice on the moening we were to check out ao they coukd clean the room. The first time they knocked they unlocked the door but thank goodness I had the other door lock on so that the door could not open all the way. I was not feeling well and wanted to rest until almost 11, I was not able to rest because of this disturbance. The counter in the bathroom covers the toilet and I noticed a disposable razor sitting on top of the toiket tank underneath this shelf. This really makes you wonder just how well the rest of the room had been cleaned.

Its Cold Lake so you have to lower your standards a bit, but this hotel is among the best you can find in the area.

Have dined here and attended several dues lie mother's day so was fairly disappointed that the meal of steak and lobster was not up to the standard we expected. The food including the vegetables were all cool. We were served fast enough so it was not like it sat. Disappointed.

We def would stay here again if we came back to Cold Lake! The beds were very comfy! Food was delicious! Good price too!

Stayed here one night. Room was pretty standard. Nice deep tub. Reasonably priced. Has a pool with water slide.

The good: the location is good, rooms are nice and the hotel seems modern. Sawmill restaurant is great, Ruth's looks cool. The water slide is crazy fast and fun. The bad: small cramped parking lot.

I give Cold Lake, Alta Best Western 5 Stars as their staff are all rock stars! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Be sure to bring your own phone charger though as our room did not have USB ports. Also call ahead if you need a crib to make sure they have one available.

Friendly staff and nice rooms. There is a pretty good restaurant in the hotel and good facilities. Enjoyed my stay.

Always a good stay. I visit here several times a year and staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. I use the pool quite often and its never crowded and the water is a nice temperature. The restaurant has always had good food and nice service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for great place to stay.

Affordable, clean, quiet with a very nice fitness/workout room. I really liked the adjoining Sawmill restaurant. I wonder why they don't put two different pillows (hard and soft) on the bed?!

Communication gap — first day of check in they asked me to pay however I reassured them that it's already paid by my company rep. I showed them the receipts etc Even then they argued and charged me, next day they apologies that it's already paid by my company. Lol Internet break down — there was some issue with their Wi-Fi router Or nearest hotspot and was not connecting. To make sure I connect my laptop with phone Wi-Fi and it worked. Called the main desk for support and she tried too but since she had no IT experience or have anyone from the IT in their hotel they couldn't fix. I somehow managed to get the cable to connect to the internet. Overall my stay was not too good but it's alright.

Helpful and friendly front desk and staff. Rooms are clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was good.

Best western is usually a great hotel … this one was clean … had a nice pool … but the management seemed to not know what they were doing … we asked for 2 beds and a cot for a small child … they said a 2 bed room wouldn't fit a cot and we would have to pay for a suite … we looked In a room with 2 beds and there was tons of room for a cot … when we asked can we get a 2 bed room they were super sheepish and said yes they have rooms available on that floor where we had a lot of family staying … Other complaint is the free breakfast ends at 9 am … ok if you are there working. But on vacation we would like to sleep in a bit longer … Most other best westerns serve till 10:30 am The hotel was nice … if you don't need any specail accommodation I would highly recommend the hotel.

Basic but clean and great service.

Good standards and always helpful staff at the check-in desk. The breakfast looks great and is a awesome perk to have for free when staying here. If you want a quite, comfortable, and affordable hotel in Cold Lake which gives you complimentary hot breakfast everyday your staying, pick this place!

Great rooms, fast internet. Nice gym as well, has a squat rack, cable machine and free weights (as well as the usual treadmill and stationery bike)

Staff is friendly. The room was very nice and comfortable. Internet is fast. Went in with lower expectations but was pleasantly surprised!

Horrible experience before we even got there. Tried to cancel three weeks in advance (got a place in a relative's basement) and was charged the FULL AMOUNT. No reasoning with front desk or manager. Were just told, politely, where we could go and my VISA card charged in full. And VISA quickly sided with the merchant as there are a bigger customer. $618 out the window.

Stayed in March 2011, and the beds had a lot of hair on the sheets. Sower curtain not long enough so the bathroom floor is soaked after showering. If you have to cancel your reservation after 4:00pm the day before, you will be charged full price for the room and will re-rent the room out. There is not adequate parking at the hotel. The restaurant is expensive and has very poor service. The rooms do have good TV's and shower pressure. The beds (other than being hairy) are quite comfortable.
