Yen's Hotel Hotel

My husband and I went to the restaurant in district 7, Phu My Hung, and we both got a terrible food poisoning. We visited the doctor this morning who confirmed the diagnosis and still feel very bad. This is beyond a bad experience. You basically sold us poison and could have killed us. I will make sure you pay for it. And for anyone else, I hope our bad experience will help you to avoid this place.

Simon and other fishes are fresh. Hotpot is also good. Price is affordable. Place is clean and no sanitation issue with the overall foods.

Staff ignored us for almost 10 minutes. They were too busy giving their attention to locals and ignored us.

First time visit here was awesome. However, the second time my visit to Saigon and revisit yen, it is a totally disaster. Bringing my mum over for birthday celebration however the staff don't give us dine in the private room after doing room reservation. Reach the restaurant and the staff serving us like rat. Don't bother to serve us as saying room just only for 9pax and above. Why don't they mention this when I doing reservation over the phone. Honestly, this is a very zen, classy theme Japanese restaurant. HOWEVER, the STAFF ATTITUDE & SERVICES is totally unacceptable. No respect after all. The food is ain't cheap nor moderate as compare to other Japanese restaurant available in Saigon. Feeling so fking regret sharing to my tons of friend saying yen sushi was awesome on my first visit. Now it prolly just awesome as get serve as rat in the fine beautiful restaurant with a big burn in the wallet. P. S. My first time visit dine in for two cost me 2 000 000vnd and not to forget I even try their Yen Sushi Premium, in which my girlfriend encounter the bias-ness in doing phone call reservation. Spend a meal for two about 2 500 000vnd+ (I don't even order lobster or dishes above 500 000vnd) then come to this special treatment I get from continuous supporting them. Will never ever go back again. Terrible.

Kind staff and good location.

The place is good. The location is very good. The hotel is clean, the staff is courteous. No elevator.

Great place to stay in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The team ist very friendly and open. So you feel like at Home in the busy City.

Location is very good, next to fan Wu Old Street, to Bingcheng Square is also a more than 10-minute drive bar.
Surrounding eating is very convenient, backpack travel is the first choice.
Hotel clean and tidy every day will have to clean the room. The only thing that's not good is that the back is Bar Street, at night always to two or three o ' clock to calm down sleep is not good estimate can not live this piece.

TL;DR: The place is pricey, and while the food is good, neither it nor the service is good enough to back it up.
Visited this d7 branch on 12/11. There were 5 people in our party and the total bill came out to about 2.5 million. Our first problem was that we were not given utensils. I flagged a man, whom I assume is the manager, and rather than do it himself he told one of the servers who then brought us four sets of chopsticks, not five. The next problem we had is there were no tissues on the table, so we asked for those. Again they brought four not five, despite asking again, we were never brought more tissue. The third problem we had with a dish was the salmon belly. On the menu it looks delicious and appears to be about a 250-275 gram portion. What we were brought looked like the cast offs that would be tossed in a pot to make a fish broth and probably weighed in at less than 150 grams — the price for that was 385, 000. As soon as it was set down before us, we explained our problem with the dish and asked to order something else — and the manager graciously removed the plate from the table and our bill and brought us something else. It was the one really perfect aspect of service all night. Paying the bill took 40 minutes because we had two bills for one table. My husband and I paid cash for our bill, then my friends asked to split their bill on two credit cards.

Any advice about the noise levels at this place may well fall on deaf ears… so, for those having such a sensory defect it is the perfect place to stay. If, however, you'd like an uninterrupted night's sleep or to be able to get to sleep, then it is best to choose further afield.

Terrible service! The first time I came here by my girl's suggestion. We ordered 5 dishes and guess what? Only 2 dishes came out, one of them was wrong order and they had to change it for 2 times to get the right dishes! 1 dish was out of order and they did not tell us until 1 hour later! 2 remaining dishes were not even acknowledge by the kitchen! Even after that, no excuses from the staffs, where were you the manager? Was this the Japanese hospitality?

Nice budget place. Good value for money. A bit noisy in the rooms but location and breakfast make up for it. Payed 45$ for two nights in a double.

Lololololololololol this place is horrible. Good luck trying to sleep with a nightclub virtually attached to the building. Moldy a/c. Very nice receptionist.

I stayed at this hotel and I thought it was great! Some of the reviews on Yen's Hotel are ridiculous! The reviews sound like they have come from people from wealthier countries who have never been to Vietnam before and do not understand that the quality of hospitality is just different here! If you book a room in the city center right near the backpackers street in one of the busiest most HECTIC cities in the world then OF COURSE it's going to be loud! Don't blame the hotel for that… you chose to stay there and now you're angry that you didn't think about the noise before booking! This place is just trying to run a business and make a living like everyone else, don't write terrible reviews deterring people to stay for things they cannot help! It makes me upset to see people posting comments on this hotels review section saying how terrible the hotel is because these reviews would be impacting their life and income! Anyway! We stayed at Yen's Hotel for our last 2 nights in HCMC and we thought it was great! The room was clean! The bed was the most comfy bed I've slept in since being in Vietnam (I find every bed I've slept on in Vietnam has been either very hard! Or very very old and saggy with springs coming out but this bed at Yen's Hotel was perfect! And very comfy! ). The bathroom was excellent actually! And was also the nicest bathroom I've seen whilst being in Vietnam! Air con worked well to keep room at a comfortable temperature.

I had the best stay ever at yen's hotel! Me and my gf searched a lot of places near the backpacker street, and yen's hotel had the best bed/room compared to price. But the best thing about this place, is the staff. You have to look far for people as friendly and helpful as David, and his female colleague. (sorry sweetheart, can't spell your name ;) ) I'm definitely coming back here, next time I'm in ho chi Minh. Best regards, Jonas.

Central Saigon. Good prices. Good service. Friendly and polite staff.

Well, we came on walked in. They had a room available for two days and they asked us to pay before. We understand why later. It is simply not possible to sleep in this place until 3AM because of the noise outside. The wall vibrate crazy and we end up with a headeach. Very disappointed for a place which is not cheap! On the morning, the receptionist seems rude to us asking where we go, how long we will be outside, ho much we had paid for the room… And that seems to us quite strange, a first time in Asia and in Vietnam… We tooked all our belongings with us anyway because the place had quite few reviews about robbers in the staff… When we came back on the afternoon they have moved our stuffs in an other room because they said an other customer had booked our room and asked us to check if everything was here. We found our belongins moved in an other room in laundry/trash basket, it is really unusual and crazy inappropriate for a place which has been tripadvisor 2015 winner for customer service. They should have asked us before! So what I understand is that not every customer is valuable for this place and so far this is the worst hotel I ever been.

The rooms are not at all bad in relation to the price, but on the first floor it is completely impossible to sleep, there is a pub just below and part of listening to the music the room vibrates. Impossible to rest.

Free beer at 7:00pm — 8:00pm. A good place for your money! Cold smoothies at check-in, free beer 7:00pm — 8:00pm.

Dont go to this hotel… It is a complete scam… I had bought a food of 65, 000vnd from them, and when I was going to pay, it was 89, 000vnd, when I asked why, they were looking for a good of same price, they touched noodles, I said I had rice and chicken, and he keeps murmuring… I pointed what I had ordered from him, but he said they changed it when they called … They did not have the food, so they call someone from another kitchen that brings the food for cheaper, and they re-dress the whole food… idiots, They said hope to see you again… I said "Not even in your drunken dreams" Stay off the rooms/restaurant… It is a trap.

Worse place i've been in Vietnam (backpakking from north to South) we've been robbed for 200.000VD! And then when we left, day after they robbed 60doller from our visa! Don't go there, young guy have a really bath attitude. Look for other hotels in the same street, cheeper — cleaner — bigger room's!

"I was robbed 20 $ from my wallet in this place" Try to avoid this place, at least don't let anyone to clean your room or they will clean you up other things. Someone took 20 $ from wallet in this place, I guessed it was the cleaning lady. So I went down and complained about it. The guy just smiled at me and said he was sorry. I cannot understand why this place has this high rating. In my opinion they should be taking more care about their own staff.
