I stayed at this hotel and I thought it was great! Some of the reviews on Yen's Hotel are ridiculous! The reviews sound like they have come from people from wealthier countries who have never been to Vietnam before and do not understand that the quality of hospitality is just different here! If you book a room in the city center right near the backpackers street in one of the busiest most HECTIC cities in the world then OF COURSE it's going to be loud! Don't blame the hotel for that… you chose to stay there and now you're angry that you didn't think about the noise before booking! This place is just trying to run a business and make a living like everyone else, don't write terrible reviews deterring people to stay for things they cannot help! It makes me upset to see people posting comments on this hotels review section saying how terrible the hotel is because these reviews would be impacting their life and income! Anyway! We stayed at Yen's Hotel for our last 2 nights in HCMC and we thought it was great! The room was clean! The bed was the most comfy bed I've slept in since being in Vietnam (I find every bed I've slept on in Vietnam has been either very hard! Or very very old and saggy with springs coming out but this bed at Yen's Hotel was perfect! And very comfy! ). The bathroom was excellent actually! And was also the nicest bathroom I've seen whilst being in Vietnam! Air con worked well to keep room at a comfortable temperature. As for noise there was SOME noise of construction during the day and in the morning at like 8am but it certainly wasn't "making the walls vibrate". We were not disturbed by club and bar noises at all! I didn't even notice any music besides early in the night at like 11:30pm and even then It was quite muffled and didn't hinder my sleep (and I am a very light sleeper! I didn't even need ear plugs that how muffled the sound was, you could hardly even hear the music if at all! ) and as mentioned before… YOU chose to stay in a hotel on the middle of the backpackers street! You need to accept there might be some noise, it's not the hotels fault! Location is great in terms of central location. Personally I don't like the backpackers area of Saigon at all I find it tacky and overpriced and would much rather stay further out where you'd actually get a genuine local experience not over priced food and drink and hotels BUT if you want to stay in the backpackers area and be central then this is the place for you :) overall had a lovely stay at Yen's Hotel and staff were very friendly and healthful! I hope someone else reads this review and gives staying at this hotel a second chance because honestly so many of those reviews are very harsh and unfair for their business! You know it is an old building in the city center of a city that does not have the same wealth and infrastructure as other wealthier western countries so of course it may look a little run down/ have noise but it's a narrow buildings packed closely in with all the other thousands of buildings in the city! That's just how Saigon is and that's part of the fun and adventure of this hectic beautiful city! Please don't blame the hotel for your lack of adventure ;)
