Very precarious place, noisy and cold. Ideal only for those who go exclusive to live the night of Montevideo.
The good thing is the location near the important points of the city, except that it is above several night spots.

Comfortable and affordable price. They don't serve any more breakfast which gave a special plus to the place, beyond that. I would still choose it for a short stay in Montevideo.

Ah, how can you not love this cult hotel. The mattress was hard on my bed, but the interior, location, and the staff made it up. This will from now on be my home in Montevideo. Enjoy your stay.

Really beautiful, very friendly attention and very nice view.
When you arrive it seems to be dark because the reception is, but every room has window to the outside and is very bright.
It has a selection of beautiful antique furniture which makes it a unique place.
Council: ORDER by room not to Bartolomé Mitre, as it is a street with several bars and bowling alleys and can be very noisy.
If you rent a bicycle, you can leave it at night at the hotel.

As an affordable option for a private room in Ciudad Vieja you can find nothing finer. Very tall ceilings, views of Teatro Solis, great Pubs and Cafes on the pedestrian alley.

We went with my girlfriend 4 days and excellent The place, we were delighted with everything, their style and the attention of each of its members, a place we would probably plan to return and recommend a lot.

I stayed for a month with my brother and in my experience I can comment on the following: From the day we arrived there was a lot of attention and hospitality on the part of the hotel manager and staff. We will have the necessary information and general services in a timely and professional manner. The hotel, although not the most modern and new stays in constant maintenance and cleanliness. I personally recommend the hotel Spléndido and I wish you the best for this year and the ones to come.

I didn't like it but it was pretty economical. It's full of furniture and old things and everything smells old. I wouldn't go back.

It's a clean hotel in an old house. It has good attention but its skinny point is that it has no elevator for its long stairs.

A different hotel, very vintage in a historic building. I loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean and spacious rooms with air conditioning and a nice view to the Solis Theatre. The location is in the old town, very close to the hand of everything. I recommend it.

The staff in this hostel couldn't be any better… They are fluent in multiple languages and are happy to let you practice your Spanish on them. They have also gone out of their way to offer to clean our room, print for us and provide great ideas of what to do and see. The hostel is an older building with large rooms and high ceilings. We stayed in a double room with ensuite with a balcony, which was great and I had a little nose about and there are a number of rooms better than ours (doubles, not sure of the dorms). The place is spotless and close to everything, there are bars downstairs and a supermarket around the corner. The only criticism is that the water is tepid, not hot… not a major problem given it has been warm during our stay, though would be a serious concern for me if the weather was cooler. Highly recommend.

This historical hotel is amazing, with an astonishing wire od teatro solis, all' the rooms and the hotel are still belonging to another epoque, really suggestive, inexpensive and charming. Best choice for budget travellers.

About a 20 minute walk from the port. The hotel is located at the edge of the old town and the new part of the city. 3 minute walk to Independence Plaza. Easy access to the bus network — just pay 22 pesos once on board to get to anywhere in the city. The single rooms are small with very small beds. My advice is pay the extra few dollars to get a double room. The double has ensuite bathroom and TV. Wifi access with a desktop available in the common area. Basic breakfast included — cereal and pastries. Not the most modern of hotels but they have made an effort to give the hotel some character. Helpful staff.

Water will stay warm, but not hot. The community bathrooms were upgraded while the personal ones were not. The heater is an electric heater in each room, which doesn't work when the power goes out. Staff could be better, got different checkout times from different employees and didn't know breakfast was included until my third night.

This is what I wrote in Trip Advisor — If you are looking for a comfortable, affordable hotel in Montevideo, I highly recommend Splendido. The location is perfect, right in the Old City, near the Port Market, the Rambla and the Plaza Independencia. My room was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the Teatro Solis. There is a kitchen, lots of hot water, free access to computers and Internet, a TV and a fridge in the room (depending on what you opt for), and funky areas to sit and relax. But by far, the best thing is the staff. You couldn't wish for more helpful, knowledgable, accommodating and welcoming people. I will definitely be staying there again next time I'm in Montevideo. But be careful, if you stay a Splendido, you just might feel so at home that you won't want to leave!
