Protea Hotel by Marriott Kampala

Very disorganised service.
If you have to host a big crowd just don’t try it. Very limited parking, the ushers have no idea how to serve what is on the menu. Very disappointing experience.

Great value for money. The breakfast spread was really good. Enjoyed my stay here.

Excellent reception at the front desk by Dumba Swalik, Hakazzi Stlvia and the bellman Eddy. I am grateful to Mr. Swalik for arranging to fix my eyeglasses. I was upgraded to a junior suite for being Titanium Elite.
The hotel is in great condition and within walking distance to the mall.
Wonderful breakfast with fresh juices.

A total all-roubder: Great rooms, great service and exceptional banqueting/conferencing. Loved the themed decor, too.

Among 7 hotels I stayed in Kampala, Protea was the best! stuff is very very friendly, I mean by stuff all, reception, restraint, housekeeping, security. No single one you will meet in the hotel not friendly!
Restaurant is really good, affordable, clean.
Had no single issue during my stay, and sure will stay there again and again!

All good but alot has changed about the washrooms, the new doors in the gents are only good on the optics, but all doors don't lock from the inside. Beware, so easy for one to just push the door. Kindly sort it out, just so embarrassing 🤦

Just attended a graduation in one of the conference rooms. Food was excellent and service too. Parking was waaay too crowded, I could barely walk across the parking let alone park inside.

My favorite stay in the heart of Kampala.
Good rooms, great selection of food, lively evening bar.

Having recently returned from Protea Hotel Kampala, I am pleased to share my experience. Overall, our stay was quite enjoyable, and we were particularly impressed with the majority of the staff. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Maureen, Swalik, Dennis, Nicholas, Levi, Chef Godfrey, Fidelis, and the other staff members who contributed to making our 18-day stay so comfortable.
However, I also wish to offer some constructive feedback regarding two individuals at the front desk who work in the mornings, Patricia and Esther. I found their demeanour to be somewhat less than welcoming. Specifically, Esther's lack of friendliness was noticeable. It seemed unusual that guests would be greeted with such disregard or not greeted at all by the 2 young girls. Esther wouldn't even respond when greeted.
This behaviour appeared to be quite impolite and unfriendly. As the saying goes, "Gast ist König, " or "a guest is a king. " It's important to treat guests with respect.
Additionally, there was an incident with a short female housekeeper, who, unfortunately, displayed a lack of respect in the presence of our visitors. I did report this immediately, and it seems that some additional training would be beneficial. It appears that these individuals, along with the housekeeper, could benefit from further training on how to properly accommodate guests.
On a more positive note, the restaurant staff were absolutely wonderful.

Great Serene Environment for relaxing, business meetings, dating, holiday stay, celebrating, & meditating. Worth a check it out!

Great place for conferences, with a calm environment, a number of conference halls, they do enough songs to ease finding your hall and well aired halls, with good air conditioning.

Amazing service. I'm not joking, really good service. Special shout out to Pamela. She was so so kind and was always smiling. Made us feel really welcome. Absolutely recommend coming here!

Wen you come in you won't regret coz they have a great view aquite place and a pleasant service.

I recently spent a couple of weeks at this facility.
I would say it's the place you should be, if you want the best all round experience in Kampala. Trust me, cos I stayed in 3 other high brow hotels in between.
Particular mention of the guest relations officer, Ms Maureen and her team at the front office.
In simple words, they're excellent at what they do; they're ever ready to go above and beyond to make guests as comfortable as possible.
I also must acknowledge the entire staff at Chapter One restaurant.
Tireless and ever smiling.
I do appreciate all of you guys.
Sarah, Agnes, Benjamin, Winnifred and the chef making magic with eggs and waffles, Chef Godi and all the other members of the team. You guys are so wonderful. I will score them 10/10, if you ask me.

I had never thought that there was such an amazing place in Uganda like protea hotel. Not until I and my uncle had a visit there in July. What I experienced left me wondering till date. These people have the best accommodation, entertainment, recreation facilities and the best staff. I must say thanks to the mgt for such an amazing place to be.
