Villa Kololo

Noise is really an issue in this location. Loud parties in a neighbor bar is bad at night time — til 4-5 AM.
The bathroom sink and bathtub are clogged. Water takes time to drain.
Apparently this is not going to change as the owner of the bar is a policeman.
As a restaurant it's good, service is great in the restaurant. As a hotel not so much.

I stayed for one night and had to check out at 6:00 AM. I asked the front desk staff if breakfast could be packed to go. She assured me that the meals would be prepared after the restaurant closed that evening. Upon entering the room, I found it smaller than expected. There was no door knob for the room or the restroom, which was quite unusual. Additionally, there was no place to put the soap except on the floor, which was inconvenient. The room's furniture was outdated. The hotel has a restaurant called Mediterraneo. I ordered pasta, but it was disappointing in flavor. The price was disproportionate to the quality. At checkout, I asked the front desk staff if the meals were ready. After checking the refrigerator, he informed me that no meals were prepared. I was deeply disappointed and left the hotel hungry. I left a message for the hotel through the hotels. Com app but received no response after a week. I don’t recommend this hotel and would not return.

Good ambience… The hospitality is fantastic and the rooms are generally cheap… The location is good and central to alot of night clubs and restaurants.

Great place to stay in Kampala! I have stayed multiple times in this hotel for the past 4 years and it is consistently a great choice in the Kololo area. Staff is friendly, highly responsive and efficient. Rooms are nicely decorated with full and comfortable amenities. The included breakfast is superb, as are all other food items in their a la carte menu (Italian), served in the secluded al-fresco restaurant.

The hotel is huge With spaced rooms and well made furnitures the bed is so comfortable I really enjoyed.

Villa kololo is well decorated, has shinny compound, they highly welcome every person and their staff members are friendly come and enjoy their products.

An excellent accommodation and services rendered by hospitalizing staffs is one of the best things that makes Villa kololo different from all other hotels in Kampala.

Charming rooms decorated with family heirlooms and photos. It’s in a small garden behind Mediteraneo which is where they serve a fabulous breakfast.

Good hotel, although the garden highlighted on Booking has been swallowed up by construction works.
Liked · — Our room and bathroom were large, comfortable and well equipped. Both were very clean. We had access to a small fridge, a hot shower with excellent flow, a large TV, two wardrobes, bedside lamps, and lockable trunks to store our valuables.
— Most of the waiters at the hotel restaurant (= Mediterraneo) were very smiley and helpful. The breakfast included was very copious and quite good, although always a bit the same and not very veggie-oriented. The two dinners we had in the hotel restaurant were excellent. I recommend the pizzas, caprese salads, papardelle and tiramisu!
— The hotel was very well located, a 10-15 minute walk from Acacia Mall, its cinema, and several very good restaurants and cafés.
Disliked · — During our 4-night stay, we were surrounded by construction works. At the front of the hotel, the installation of the Christmas decorations caused quite a mess for over 2 days and resulted in the complete disappearance of the garden, which had first aroused our interest on Booking (sadly…). Work was also in progress at the back of the hotel throughout our stay, to the extent that a wooden screen was installed in front of our bedroom window, leading us to spend 4 days in darkness and in noise.

Cozy place, charming rooms, can get a bit noisy at night due to the surroundings/clubs in vicinity.
Pizza is delicious.

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times and I have mixed feelings about the place these days.
On the positive side — the place has a small boutique feel to it and the rooms, while not huge, are comfortable with an eclectic 'colonial' style decor and vibe. The showers are consistently outstanding — important if you are coming in from a more rural place and want a great relaxing, hot shower! The Wi-Fi was great on one of my visits — and I could do work calls — but not so good another (maybe just a sign of the telecomm times), so may be worth checking if you really need to do an important internet-based call while here. The lunch/dinner restaurant is excellent — also consistently so. Restaurant staff, cleaning staff, garden staff — could not be nicer or more welcoming — they are giving such great service.
Removing the 5th star from my review is that the front desk folks — seems to be a family.? maybe the owners? — could not be more unwelcoming and unfriendly. Not a single welcome was offered, not a single thanks for your business, not a question on whether the stay is ok, can we help — nothing while checking in or checking out. Its like being a guest there is a disturbance to their day. I don't understand this because the 'floor staff' are so nice and its so inconsistent with every other experience I've had in Uganda — weird. The rooms are on the dark side — but they are quiet so that can be a bonus.

The moment you waltz into the villa restaurant section … wow the customer care is really top notch I love it … the villa makes you feel like you are in medieval Italy with so much Aromas dashing in the air. Lovely glass roof top … having dinner as you gaze at the stars it's really beautiful and customercare is good and the food is really great.
Keep it very high up.

Good Mediterranean restaurant in-house, located in upmarket area of town. Large rooms. Comfortable. Failed to provide breakfast next day in the morning as staff were not present. 24hr security in place, also has car park facilities for those with a car.

My stay at Villa Kolo was great. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is accommodating and friendly. The hotel is located in the heart of Kololo, close to all the major restaurants and bars. The breakfast service is absolutely great, with amazing coffee, eggs, bacon, etc. The staff at the adjacent Mediterraneo restaurant is also great and so is the food!
